My Canon SD4000 camera fits nicely inside this neoprene case. Just as an educated guess, the neoprene seems to be an appropriate thickness, balancing the attributes of compactness (by not being overly thick or bulky) and security (by providing adequate protection against most impacts). It is indeed a vivid red and will make your little camera obvious whether you want that or not. A nonadjustable wrist strap is included, but no belt strap. The neoprene is water resistant but not waterproof, and the zippers would surely leak promptly. All in all, while it's in this case your camera will be protected but not invulnerable.
