I have an Olympus E-M5 with the 12-50 zoom, which fits perfectly in the center. Add a 40 150 zoom and I have a small pack with camera and lenses that covers an effective range of 24 300 mm in 35 mm terms. The third compartment takes a flash or smaller accessories such as a table top tripod/GorillaPod, or another lens. I've even put my E-M5 + larger 14-54 zoom with adapter in. It fits...not gracefully...but it fits.
In a nutshell, this bag is perfect for smaller Compact System Cameras, such as the Olympus Pens, Sony Nex, etc. There's even space for a 22 ounce water bottle and a molded front compartment for trail snacks or other accessories. What's nice about this type of design is you can use it as a fanny pack and spin it around to the front to retrieve your camera or other items.
My only criticism is the shoulder strap is pretty useless, so I bought a 12 inch strip of 1" wide strapping at REI and made a handle. You could hang some extra accessories off the exterior, but that really pushes the boundaries of size and versatility.
Design is outstanding and quality is pure Mountainsmith. I say that in the context of having used a Mountainsmith internal frame backpack for five years of camping/hiking as an assistant scoutmaster with Boy Scouts. It never failed me.

Fantastic Camera Bag!!! I use it with my Canon T2i I have 3 lens's one on the camera and one on either side. They all switch positions. one Zoom 55 to 200mm one 18-50 and one 50mm. Also holds caps, SD cards, my wallet and cell phone. Use it as a fanny pac or just use the strap. Not to big and bulky. Best bag I have found!!Best Deals for Mountainsmith Swift FX R
I love this bag! It fits our Cannon perfectly and is not too bulky or big. The camera is protected and we even have room to store the cords, battery, etc. There is pocket in the front with a red and green tab to store SD cards, and a place to put money and other things that we needed to carry around on our trip.Honest reviews on Mountainsmith Swift FX R
I received a Canon SLR Rebel 1 for my birthday with two lenses. I wanted something not too large that would hold all of my equipment and be easy to carry. I researched many bags/waist packs and decided on this one. It holds my camera and both lenses as well as accessories and provides great protection of the camera and lenses. It is very durable. The camera and lenses are easy to access and I find this waist pack to be very practical. It is very comfortable to wear and the shoulder strap provides excellent support in holding the waist pack in place. I would have given it 5 stars except for the stretchy middle pocket that doesn't allow me to tighten the waist pack as much as I would like. This is just a personal preference.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Mountainsmith Swift FX R
I bought this so that I could carry a camera while cross-country skiing. It seems well made and is quite acceptable from that perspective. The camera is accessed through the top of the pack by unzipping a zipper that runs along the middle of the top of the pack. The location of the zipper obstructs the camera when removing it from the pack, which I found annoying. It would be better in my opinion if the zipper prescribed a "U" shaped channel that would create a flap, allowing the camera to be more easily removed from the pack. There is also a "tagalong" mini-pack permanently attached to the rear of the pack in which you can store incidentals like a phone, glasses, credit cards, etc. This may be useful to some, but for me it added a bit of unwanted weight and, more importantly, volume. While skiing it was cumbersome (at least for me) to stop, remove the camera (which requires that the pack be loosened or taken off), figure out where to put the pack while shooting, then reverse the process. After a while the waist stap on the pack loosened and it started to hang lower and lower. I've returned it and will try a different product.
