I doubt the Delkin will provide protection from a drop. I have a Camera Armor on my D200 and it provides very good protection but the Delkin is thin, very thin and somewhat slick, more like a plastic and not like the very rubbery grip provided by Camera Armor. The Camera Armor fits vey snug, the Delkin fits loosly not snug at all,

I waited six months before buying the Delkin hoping Camera Armor would release a D5100 model. I would not buy the Delkin again, I would do without.

I love it! I lost my D60 on a flight home that had body armor on it which I absolutely loved. After my period of grief, I ended up ordering a D5100 and was looking for another armor kit for it. I couldn't find the same kit for this particular camera. Saw this and ordered it with hope it was as good as my last one. I was especially worried about the review that stated an ill fit. But no worry...it fits great and it feels wonderful. Now it doesn't feel as "thick" as the other body armor but it very sufficient. The fit is proportional to the buttons and controls. It also comes with two screen shields to protect your monitor. It's a good buy and relatively inexpensive compare to the price of the camera.

Received this item fast and correct. The skin is very nice and the fit is really good. The LCD cover is really a good fit but b-4 you put it on make sure that the lens is clean. I found that if you place the piece towards the hinge area first and work from there it covers exactly right. I ended up using both that come with it because the first one I tried to refit and then couldn't get the bubbles out. so did it again the way I suggested and it went on with out a hitch. No bubbles fits perfect now don't touch it. I like that you can flip and close the LCD with the cover on. Some others you can not because they are too thick. Great unit, I don't mind spending the extra money if it works and this one does.

It does a great job that it was designed to do. How ever attention to detail was missing around the the rubber covers that protect the 5 connections port. The other issue is that I don't mind if the camera name is covered. That might help hide my camera's value by not displaying the name brand.
