I originally got this case in the taller version (Tamrac 3814) in eco green for my iphone 4 with a hard Speck case. I liked the streamlined-ness of it so much that I ordered the shorter version, this one, #3812, for our little Canon Powershot SD630 camera because it would exactly fit and not be any bulkier or heavier. The case is a nice soft but durable neoprene material to protect from bumps. It should be water resistant although not completely water proof, with a nice long shoulder strap and no extra bulky pockets. It has two zipper pulls. It has a belt strap on the back if you like to carry your little camera that way too. I Don't need extra pouches or pockets if it'll add bulkiness (and therefore ugliness). Our family really needs the shoulder straps because we can sling it over our shoulder and go. This way, we can access the camera quickly for photos, no digging in my purse to pull it out, and it doesn't add any appreciable weight and doesn't look like an obvious bulky camera case slung around my shoulder. I would have liked if it came in a medium blue or dark blue though. Got this one when they were $3.25, so it is definitely a good buy, but even at a higher price, it has the advantage of minimalism over the multitude of bulkier, multi-pouched, plain black canvassy nylon camera cases out there.

Fits the camera and provides good protection. The red color makes it easy to find when it is among lots of other stuff.

I was looking for just a protective sheath for the camera so that I could throw it in my backpack. The strap is very long and perfect for wearing around the neck, waist, cross body, whatever. There's very little extra room with the SD980IS which is perfect because it doesn't slide around.
