I got this when I realized that my laptop backpack does not offer enough protection for accidents on a motorcycle.
Although it's harder to deal with the case than the backpack, it's peace of mind.
Also, I can lock the case to the bike with a cable and padlock.
If you have the ~17" laptop, all there is room for is the laptop by itself.

Purchased this for a long driving trip across the country. I wanted to be able to take my laptop & iPad along and not worry about either getting crushed.It's bulky, but worth it. It's a case I feel like I could drop and still not fear for my laptop. I use it for a MacBook Pro and it fits well. I place my iPad on top with a thin piece of foam in between the two.
I also love that it has a built in lock.
Solid design and the latches secure well enough that I don't worry about them popping open on their own.
