This item attaches to our Nikon and changes the wearing angle as described, which is great. BUT, as a couple of other reviewer have mentioned, it loosens very easily. The first time my daughter wore it (for less than an hour) the screw came out and she nearly dropped the camera. She now knows to re-screw it constantly. She has always taken care with the expensive camera, but it's disappointing that she now has to worry about the strap detaching.

If you own a DSLR, you have a problem with your strap even if you don't realise it. That's pretty much how I came to this product I saw a promo video, had a "d'oh!" moment, and purchased one on the spot. With a normal DSLR, the strap attaches to either side of the camera body. If you put the strap around your neck, the camera sits lens-out against your chest. If you put it around your neck and one arm, holster-style, it hangs lens-out under your arm. And until you buy a Strap Buddy, you'll just think that's the way things are with a DSLR. Or even an older film SLR for that matter.
The Strap Buddy is dead simple. Undo one end of your strap from one side of your camera body, and attach it to the Strap Buddy, then screw the Strap Buddy into your tripod mounting hole. The Strap Buddy rotates, meaning your strap doesn't get twisted, but more importantly, it makes your camera hang lens-down, not lens-out. This makes carrying it around a lot more convenient. In 'holster' mode, it now hangs neatly down out of the way of your arm. And you can swing your camera up to take pictures just as easily as if the strap were attached traditional style.
Need to mount your camera on a tripod? The Strap Buddy unscrews easily with no tools.
I can't recommend this little thing highly enough it's so simple and it makes such a difference to carrying an SLR around that you'll wonder how you managed without it.

Good product, does what it should. There's a video from the inventor online if you're unsure how this thing works. My only problem is that the screw has no method of locking itself in! Every so often you need to re-tighten it. It fell off once for me already. But luckily it happened as I was going to pick it up.Honest reviews on Camera Strap Buddy-SB1
It doesn't feel right with a flash attached to your camera, especially a big flash like the sb900. I'm a bit concerned about the metal strap holder, it might scratch the underside of the camera as it makes funny noises when it's rotating.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Camera Strap Buddy-SB1
I love this product but as another reviewer stated you need to check it each time you use it. I had used it for a few solid days at Disney and when we were leaving one of the parks it had worked itself out and fell off my neck! Luckily my reflexes allowed me to catch my camera avoiding disaster but I was startled to say the least. I also didn't enjoy looking all over in the dim light to find the pieces. It took me five minutes to find it.Needless to say I learned a very important lesson. Check it often to make sure it's tight!
