After reading the two preceding reviews, I nearly didn't buy this case. The trouble is, if you own a DX6490 or 7590, there are few if any other cases that fit their odd shape snugly. Anyway, I risked the twenty-odd bucks, and I'm (mostly) glad I did, because the case is not so bad as I had feared.
It's true it won't win any fashion awards, but the material is actually better than most cases I recall from the SLR days. Maybe Kodak has taken prior reviews to heart, since I didn't have the problems described by the other reviewer with the pockets fitting the battery or extra card. Indeed, I found that besides accommodating the designated extra battery and extra SD card (with plastic case!) there was also another small strap for an SD card (without a case). Additionally, I was able to fit yet another SD card (with case) and another battery behind the velcro divider in the lid. The velcro is pretty skimpy, so it would be better if it secured more strongly.
The good thing about the magnetic latch is that it is easy to open. The bad thing about the magnetic latch is that it is easy to open. My previous camera bag had an additional utility pocket that was handy for keeping video cables, card adapters and other small peripherals. This case has no spare cargo section.
Ultimately, I think there is not a lot to choose from for 6490 and 7590 cases, as mentioned earlier. This one is snug, well padded, not excessively bulky, and reasonably priced, so you could do worse.
Kodak, if you're reading this: more velcro and a little spare cargo room and this would be a pretty nice case.

First off, the description says that the case holds a memory card and a battery. Upon receiving the item, there were two sleeves to hold up to two extra memory cards and one pocket for an extra battery. Both of these were "hidden" inside the flip open cover of the case. My problem with this is that the sleeves are just big enough to fit a memory card in WITHOUT the plastic memory card case. I do not feel comfortable storing my memory cards outside of their plastic cases (moisture, dust, lint, scratches, etc...). Also, trying to fit my extra battery into its designated pocket was very difficult. It is a very tight fit, which is good, but I do not want to be struggling trying to put away an extra battery that should just fall into place. It took about 10 minutes of stretching the pocket to make the battery fit (I felt like I would be ripping the material by forcing the battery into its pocket). In addition, both the battery and memory cards are held in place by very small, cheap looking Velcro straps that look like they wouldn't last a month.Secondly, the camera fits very nicely into the case, but there is no extra room for the camera strap to fit. There is a little side pocket that the camera strap can fit into, but who wants to fold up their camera strap every time they put their camera away? Not me! Not to mention, it is rather tedious to try and slide the strap into its pocket.
Third, the case itself has a very nice interior material, but the external material is shiny, fake leather (including the case shoulder strap) that makes the camera case look like a cheap purse (which I got numerous comments on from family and friends).
Fourth, the cover very rarely closes the way it should. It either moves to the right or the left so that the camera is not protected. The cover should close properly every time you close the case. It's not a big deal, but making sure the cover is closed properly is not something I want to be worrying about every time I put my camera away.
There were only two things I liked about the camera case. Number one, the interior material is very soft, so that you cannot scratch your LCD or any other part of the camera. Number two, the magnetic snap to close the case (no zippers means no scratching the camera).

I am very happy with this case. This is the first time I have ever had a case that fits my camera perfectly. I have the Z7590, which is an odd shaped camera due to its 10x lens. But it fits in the case perfectly with room for an extra battery, which I will probably never need, since the battery charge seems to last forever in this camera. I am also not interested in memory card storage, since I bought the camera with a 1 gig card, which will hold more than 600 5mp pictures; much more than I will ever need for a single trip.To answer the criticisms of other reviewers:
1. It is too tight a fit.
answer: Remove the inner liner that is there to hold smaller cameras.
2. The pocket for the extra battery is too tight.
answer: After a little use, the pocket will stretch a little and the battery will fit just fine.
3. The memory card storage pocket won't hold the plastic case.
answer: Throw away the plastic case. The storage pocket is safe to hold a chip without the case. I have stored SD cards in pockets like this in a case for my PDA for several years now and have had no trouble with the cards. Just get a 1 gig card and you won't have to store extra cards anyway.
4. The bag opens and closes too easily.
I find that the magnetic clasp keeps the bag closed securely, yet makes for very easy access to the camera. I find the clasp to be one of the nicest features of this bag.
