I like this bag a lot and it has become my everyday camera bag. It is well constructed, light weight, strong material and quality zippers, spacious, and in particular the hammock design in the main compartment keeps the camera suspended, providing extra protection if bag is dropped. The bottom itself is thick for additional protection and is very stable. The strap is long so I can wear it either on my shoulder or across my body comfortably. My other bag which is a back-pack design I now primarily use for times that require long hikes. Comparing the two design, I feel this Caselogic bag offers easier access. Whereas the back-pack provides better weight-distribution when carried on both shoulders.

My only caution for interested buyers is to be careful when selecting between the Case Logic SLRC 202 and 203 for proper size. The latter, which is the content of this review, is in my opinion much more spacious after trying both on for size. I actually ordered the 202 (medium) bag first and found the main compartment interior a little snug for my D90 with kit lens and after-market thick strap, while the side pockets too tight for mid or larger sized lenses. For reference, I have a Tokina 11-16 ultrawide and it does NOT fit in the side pockets when the camera is also housed in the main (on the 202). On the other hand, the 203 side pockets are deep & wide and the zippers go all the way down front to back (NoDrop tm), giving great access. The larger bag looks barely bigger than the medium one and yet it still weighs nothing. When loaded with the camera, a flash and 3 lenses, it feels supremely capable for the job. I have not done any measuring, but I doubt a nikon or canon 70-200 2.8 will fit in the side pockets or the main when connected to the body. Finally 203 can carry a tripod.

A strong yet light bag. Highly recommend.

--------------

It's now Oct 2010 the bag is in great condition like new. I use it all the time and now occasionally attach a tripod/monopod to it. Solid bag.

This bag, the SLRC-203 is well built. Good quality and all. Having owned a previous Caselogic case, the SLRC2, I chose this case because it seemed similar. I was very happy with the old case, but I upgraded from a small Nikon D40x to a larger Canon 7D.

This case fits the larger camera just fine with a large lens on the body and two lenses on either side in the pockets. Space is not really an issue.

The disappointing areas of the SLRC-203 are these (esp. compared to the SLRC2):

1. The side lens pockets have one zipper slider each that runs all the way up and over the case. This allows the pockets to open wide for big lenses, but it means that you have to almost completely unzip it to remove a lens. Compare this to the zipper on the Caselogic SLRC2 or SLRC-202 which is around the top. It is possible to leave the zipper unzipped on the SLRC2 and SLRC-202 and not have to worry about the lens falling out. With this case, unless the zipper is completely zipped down, you run a little risk of losing the lens. Also, if you store a tripod on the front (which is what the front flap is designed for) then the tripod will block your access to the lens pouch zippers... another annoying design flaw. Two zipper sliders per zipper would have been much nicer.

2. The top handle is attached to the top flap, so unless you have the zipper completely zipped you cannot/should not carry the case by the top handle. The SLRC2 case in comparison has two split handles on the top which can be grasped together regardless of whether the top flap is zipped. This comes in handy when you need to frequently access the contents of bag and are moving it around alot. With the SLRC-203, if the top is unzipped and you hold it by the handle, the flap will open and you could lose some stuff.

Those are the two worst parts of an otherwise great bag. Unfortunately, the SLRC2 (my old case) is too small for my Canon 7D and lenses, but there are design features I like more about that case as compared to this item, the SLRC-203.

Best Deals for Case Logic SLRC-203 Large SLR Camera Bag (Black)

I bought this case because of the stat sheet and reviews which said it could hold 4 lenses. In fact it will hold four lenses so long as they are the contact variety. This is called the "large" size case as contrasted with the medium one from the same manufacturer. Yes, it's "large" if you use the same ruler that Jenny Craig does when she measures the portions in her frozen dinners. In fact, it's about the size of an oversized lunch pail. All that said, this is a good product for what it is; a safe and protective slr camera case. Good cameras no longer come with hard shell cases as they did in days past and if you're looking to make up for that deficiency, this is a good product for you. Rather than using old time leather as a shock absorber, this new tech case uses a cutout hammock assembly (think, tightee-whitee) that nicely safeguards a camera with an attached lens from dents and damage. I use a canon 20d and this case securely holds it along with an attached 10-22 wide angle lens. I wouldn't recommend using it with any longer lens attached as it will scrape the bottom of the bag and defeat the whole design architecture. At most, you can fit one other lens in a side pocket, but I don't feel comfortable muffin topping an expensive lens into a lightly padded pocket which can only be closed by straining the zipper like calvin klein's jeans. Still, I'm keeping the case as I'll use it, no doubt. It's great for daytrips where you know what you'll be using your camera for and can plan ahead. If you're looking for an actual gear case or portable studio buy a slingshot 302.

Honest reviews on Case Logic SLRC-203 Large SLR Camera Bag (Black)

I second pretty much everything the previous reviewer said and, indeed, bought this larger of two bags on his advice. I'm glad I did. Let me add a few numbers. It holds (in the sling) my Nikon D90 which is 5" wide, 4"high, and 2" deep with a 3" diam., 5" long lens attached. Since this lens is a 18-270 I don't carry other lenses so can't comment on space for them. There is space in various compartments for the charger and 2 extra batteries, 5 or 6 77mm filters and a lens hood, carrying strap, a SB400 flash, extra SD cards, and (just in case) a Nikon Coolpix P50. I tried for the kitchen sink but it would not quite fit.

The case itself appears to be quite sturdy but also very light in weight. The hard molded base is quite nice as it keeps the bag upright at all times and would be wonderful if you had to set it down in a mud puddle (up to 1" deep only).

A really well designed unit though, it is, as you no doubt already noticed, a tad expensive. In this case, I think it is well worth the price!

Read my review of the little brother to this bag, the SLRC-202. This bag has all the good properties of its little brother, plus a little more in the central compartment that allows me to store my SB-800 flash.

The one thing that I find disappointing about this bag is the side pockets. They taper down toward the bottom so that they have a narrow base. I think this was done to maintain the overall top-wide narrow bottom shape. But aesthetics should not win out over function. The base of the side pockets is narrow enough so that lenses do not fit well in them. They fit they just don't fit well. The generous space at the top of the side pockets should have been maintained all the way to the bottom. That would make this a perfect bag. Caselogic, are you listening?

I am reasonably happy with this case, but I am annoyed that Nikon doesn't make more than one size/length case, given that different users may have different length lenses. I bought it to use on my Nikon D200 with the 18 200 Nikkor zoom lens. It works, but if you use that lens without the lens shade, the case is longer than it needs to be (annoying waste of space, making camera bulkier than it needs to be). If you use it with the lens shade, it's just a bit too short. I use the lens shade all the time and at first was very annoyed it was too short, but then realized that if I really forced it, I could just barely fasten the velcro with the lens shade on. And within a week I had stretched the leather enough that it closed pretty easily with the lens shade attached. So it is useable, tho it should be a bit bigger to properly cover the camera body (e.g., in rain).

My other complaint is the method of fastening the case to the camera strap. I didn't realize when I ordered it that it would not be like other SLR cases I have bought for film cameras. A film SLR case attaches firmly to the camera body and the nose just swings down to open. Nice. But on a digital, I guess you need access to too many workings on the camera body. So instead, it is a completely separate case (not attached to camera at all). When it's on, it fastens securely around the camera with velcro. But when you open it to take a picture, it is completely detached, except for an elastic strap that fastens around the camera strap. So the entire case dangles there (bulkily/awkwardly) while you take the picture. I got used to this inconvenience pretty quickly. But my big gripe is that the snap that fastens the elastic pops off pretty often (several times a day, in heavy use on my vacation) and when that happens the entire case falls to earth (in the dirt? over a cliff?). Not a good design.

I would also say it is pretty drastically overpriced, for what it is. There aren't any other camera-fitting options that I know of, so I would buy it again (it's better than nothing and better than a camera bag IMHO) but I fault Nikon for overcharging for a quite imperfect accessory for their professional camera. Nikon, listen up: Make different sizes for different lenses! And fix the strap problem!

Easy to carry around on short trip, easy to take the camera out and put back in and size is perfect for d300 with 18-200 zoom lens. Love it!

Best Deals for CF-D200 Semi-soft Case

I brought this for D200. Never used it for any length of time. It will fit the D200 with 18-200 VR lens attached. It is much more practical to have a larger camera bag such as Canon Deluxe Backpack 200 EG for the same price. One reviewer said it reminds him of 1960's and I cannot agree more. Gave 3 stars because it fits well even with a larger lens and well made.

Honest reviews on CF-D200 Semi-soft Case

Yes, it might be specifically made to cover your D200 with a 18-200mm lens, but it isn't much more than a $50+ dust cover. I'm gonna see what LowePro can do for me, or someone else. This is just cheap, custom fit vinyl for this exclusive Nikon size. Works rather awkwardly with the Nikon strap, just hangs there. You can do better than this! I would not waste my money.

This bag is great for in the field work. I shoot video using the Panasonic P2 cards, and I needed something I could take on the road and use with a couple of hard drives. With this bag there is space for everything. I keep the hard drives in the pouch where they stay connected to the computer. When I need to download, I just open it up, pop the card in and go. Nothing needs to move. And it's great having the stiff outer shell. I just got back from shooting in South Africa and the bag held up great.

I can't give a long-term review on this product, but I just got it a couple of days ago and while the camera fits perfectly and it will no doubt protect it from damage, one of the zipper pulls has already broken off (just by trying to zip it up). I would send it back, but since it only cost $12, and since there's another zipper tab (kind of like a suitcase where you can zip from either end), I'll keep it. Overall the best looking case and protection for your camera for the small price.

Review of Lowepro Nova 1 Camera Bag (Black)

Lowepro Nova 1 Camera Bag
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

This Camera bag is a good one. It works well with the Canon Rebel 2000 and the big pouch is large enough for the camera and the lens that comes with it. The flap pouch is good for things like lens tissue and other small things. And the pouch under the flap is great for glasses or film. The one problem that I have with it is that it is a little small. There is not much room for extra film, and I find the mesh poches almost worthless. I would give this 4.5 stars if I could.

I spent a bit of time looking at camera bags at a local camera store, and I found Lowepro to be the best quality bag I've seen for the price. In addition, all manufacturers have their own layout of flaps, buckles, zippers, etc, and I found Lowepro to have the most ergonomic and common sense setup.

Lowepro's Nova 1 is the perfect bag for Canon PowerShot G1 owners! I found the Nova 1 holds my Canon G1, an external flash, and all the stock G1 kit items (power cord, USB cable, camera remote, CF card, etc) snugly, but leaves plenty of room in the surrounding zippered pockets for other goodies, like extra CompactFlash cards.

As the bag is relatively small, it's not likely you'll be carrying around a lot of weight in the Nova 1. However, if you do you'll appreciate the Nova 1's very comfortable, padded shoulder strap.

If you find the Nova 1 does not precisely fit your size needs, there are a variety of other Nova Series bags available, both larger (Nova 2, 3, etc.) and smaller (Nova Micro or Mini).

Overall the Lowepro Nova 1 is a great bag!

Best Deals for Lowepro Nova 1 Camera Bag (Black)

Lowepro is a good name in camera bags.

I say this because being a photo journalist for a number of years, I needed a good bag, and I rely on Lowepro... The Nova 1 is an attractive, small (maybe a little too small all black bag. it has a strong shoulder strap, good stitching, and a comfortable feel and look. Maybe I would include more pockets for extra film cases, 'cause I always have lots of film... but for the everyday user that doesn't, it's a good investment, and not too expensive either! Lowepro= a name you can trust, coming from a camera expert...(self proclaimed) =)

If you are looking for a small case to protect your Nikon Coolpix S8000, the Neoprene Sleeve case brings a lot of bang for your buck! It will fulfill your basic needs to protect your camera while in storage or travel.

The camera fits snuggly inside, and the case is easy to zip. One of the features which have been most useful to me includes the removable wrist strap (for those of us who are destined to drop our cameras or those of us who aren't).

A second characteristic that I love is that the Neoprene Sleeve has a small pocket on the front of the case. The front pocket is actually large enough to store an additional memory card. Some people may find this feature as useful as I do; you'll never be left deleting pictures that you prefer to store on your memory card if/when the card in your camera is full. Instead, you can pull out your extra card and continue snapping priceless photos. The pocket also zips to ensure that extra memory cards aren't lost while carrying the camera in its case.

The Neoprene case was very affordable and has been durable for everyday wear and tear. I also like that it isn't bulky. The case is small enough to protect your camera, carry additional accessories (such as a memory card), and fit inside your purse. For those of you who like to buy American made products, this item is made in China.

I bought this case for my Nikon P300 since it's approx the same dimensions as the Nikon S8100. I am returning the case because I feel that it does not provide adequate protection for the camera. The material is not thick enough to protect the camera from bumps, etc. and there is no extra padding in the case to provide such protection. Also, not that it mattered to me, but the case did not come with the bracelet that the product description indicated it would.

I have a Nikon Coolpix S8000 camera, and was looking for a bag to carry it along with an extra battery and SD card. For that purpose, this bag is perfect. Fits the camera like a glove, and the extra zippered pocket for the battery and SD card is perfect. The ONLY con is that strap on the camera does not allow the zipper on the case to close all the way. If the zipper didn't need to travel all the way around the side of the camera, this wouldn't be an issue. Definitely worth the purchase though!

I almost never make a purchase without any reviews listed but this little case looked so perfect, I couldn't resist trying it out! I'm so glad I did because it's exactly what I was looking for... just enough room for my camera, a spare battery, and a spare memory card. This all fits quite snuggly with no extra room, but I didn't want to be lugging around a a huge case... just the bare minimum. This case is well-made and offers good protection for my camera.

The title specifically says this camera case is for the Canon PowerShot SX280 HS, which is exactly the camera I bought. When it arrived, it's too small! The internal dimensions are way too small. When I looked on the Canon website, the Canon case specific for the camera had the internal dimensions of 112 x 70 x 40 mm (4.4 x 2.8 x 1.6 in).

Pros: Very well built camera bag. It comes with two velcro dividers for the inside and an optional shoulder strap.

Cons: This is a very narrow camera bag. I own a Kodak P712 camera and it barely fits inside this bag (It's actually too snug for my taste). If you own a P or Z series Kodak camera I would recommend the large bag. Same advice if you own an SLR or DSLR camera...This bag is too small.

Gave it four stars...Kodak should not be recommending the P or Z series camera for this bag. Only the C and V series will fit well.

The bag itself is nice... when I bought my camera on line it was the one advertised by the Kodak company to go with the z980..for a much smaller camera this would be a "good" bag,for the one I bought it is a very tight & awkward fit , another bag would have been "much" better..also it could use some compartments for storage of ,batteries or extra memory cards. I am shopping for a another bag....

It's held together in all kinds of weather, as I've camped with it for just about once a month for the past 3 years. Mine came with a shoulder strap which helped at times, but I just usually held it from the Nylon handle. Surprisingly, My Pentax K-x and 18-55mm kit lens fits in it perfectly, although I do have to detach them to make them fit. It's a great buy and very inexpensive.

It was a bit deceiving on the description of what camera would fit in this case. I have a Kodak with 30x zoom and it just fits enough that I can zip it. I plan on keeping it instead of going to the trouble of sending it back but I wish I would have known by the description that I needed a slightly larger case. The product did come on time and was in good condition so I gave it 3 stars.

I bought this camera case about a month ago. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for but it has turned out to be worth it's weight in gold. I have a Canon Elph Powershot camera and this case fits it like a glove.

As luck would have it, I dropped this out of my pocket, while carrying my jacket last weekend. I never knew it, until I found it the next day.....AFTER a long serious thunderstorm. This case kept my camera fully protected and there wasn't even a hint of moisture inside it.

If all you are looking for is a case to protect your camera, without room for accessories, this case should be on your list for consideration. In a pinch, you can also use it for your iPod Touch, as it stretches just enough for the Touch to fit. My daughter uses it for this, from time to time.

After recovering from the disappointment of the CE702BK Clik Elite CE702BK Standard SLR Chest Pack, Black being about 1/2" to short for the Nikon D-7000 with the attached 18-105mm lens, I ordered this one, the next size up. Way to big. Still seems to be a great product, but this camera/lens combination could roll around in the CE703 holster. It would fit in any position you wanted with room to spare. It is difficult, at least for me, to determine what would fit based on what appears to be different dimensions being given for the same product, depending on where you look. Something with the width and depth of the CE702BK and the height of this CE703BK would be about perfect for me I think. The five stars is for what appears to be a well made product designed for what I need. If Clik Elite should make a bag that fits my gear, or I get new gear that would fit their bag, I won't hesitate.

The most impressive thing was that I ordered this product from Australia and received it within a week. It fits snugly to your body and is very comfortable. The actual camera bag is a little more bulky than I had hoped. I do a lot of walking with a backpack and hoped that having the camera handy would be easier than stopping to unpack it from my pack all the time. It worked OK with the camera bag over the front and the backpack over the back. However, I am a slight build female (so perhaps if you were a bigger male build this would not be a problem), but I found I could not see my feet well when hiking steep downhill sections and this caused some alarm although fortunately no fallsi just had to walk slower and carefully. For ease of access if you were not hiking on hills it is an excellent product. Maybe it would be more suitable if you were on a safari or bus tour for instance!!

I have tried this on few hikes, it is a perfect item to protect your Canon 5D MK III with battery grip and 24-105 lens.

Honest reviews on Clik Elite CE703BK Probody SLR Chest Pack, Black

When you are in an adventure trip, you will need apart your backpack, a chest pack like this. If you like photography and also enjoy jungle o forrest expeditions, that's the best pack to carry your digital SRL camera ready to use without having your hands busy.

Clik Elite CE70BK Probody SLR Chest Pack met my needs because I was finding myself hand carring my camera to take the weight off my neck. The design of the chest pack is function and solved many of the problems I was having with carring my camera gear through rough terrain. The chest pack comes with a harness, but it is designed to fit on a backpack harness as well, which would help balance tha weight of your equipment on long trecks. I had bought the Clik Elite CE405BK Elite Pro backpack before I bought the chest pack. The backpack looked like it was designed to support the chest pack, and it was displayed that way on the Internet. However, when I received the chest pack it came with additional velcro supported fittings to add to the backpack harness. The original fittings on the backpack and the chest pack were designed differently and did not fit together. I sent an e-mail inquire to Clik about this problem, and I have not received a reply for over a month. Although the chest pack and the backpack work well as individual items, Clik should have taken more care in designing and presenting them to work together. Clik could also work on their customer service as well. For this reason I cannot give Clik a high rating.

After reading the two preceding reviews, I nearly didn't buy this case. The trouble is, if you own a DX6490 or 7590, there are few if any other cases that fit their odd shape snugly. Anyway, I risked the twenty-odd bucks, and I'm (mostly) glad I did, because the case is not so bad as I had feared.

It's true it won't win any fashion awards, but the material is actually better than most cases I recall from the SLR days. Maybe Kodak has taken prior reviews to heart, since I didn't have the problems described by the other reviewer with the pockets fitting the battery or extra card. Indeed, I found that besides accommodating the designated extra battery and extra SD card (with plastic case!) there was also another small strap for an SD card (without a case). Additionally, I was able to fit yet another SD card (with case) and another battery behind the velcro divider in the lid. The velcro is pretty skimpy, so it would be better if it secured more strongly.

The good thing about the magnetic latch is that it is easy to open. The bad thing about the magnetic latch is that it is easy to open. My previous camera bag had an additional utility pocket that was handy for keeping video cables, card adapters and other small peripherals. This case has no spare cargo section.

Ultimately, I think there is not a lot to choose from for 6490 and 7590 cases, as mentioned earlier. This one is snug, well padded, not excessively bulky, and reasonably priced, so you could do worse.

Kodak, if you're reading this: more velcro and a little spare cargo room and this would be a pretty nice case.

First off, the description says that the case holds a memory card and a battery. Upon receiving the item, there were two sleeves to hold up to two extra memory cards and one pocket for an extra battery. Both of these were "hidden" inside the flip open cover of the case. My problem with this is that the sleeves are just big enough to fit a memory card in WITHOUT the plastic memory card case. I do not feel comfortable storing my memory cards outside of their plastic cases (moisture, dust, lint, scratches, etc...). Also, trying to fit my extra battery into its designated pocket was very difficult. It is a very tight fit, which is good, but I do not want to be struggling trying to put away an extra battery that should just fall into place. It took about 10 minutes of stretching the pocket to make the battery fit (I felt like I would be ripping the material by forcing the battery into its pocket). In addition, both the battery and memory cards are held in place by very small, cheap looking Velcro straps that look like they wouldn't last a month.

Secondly, the camera fits very nicely into the case, but there is no extra room for the camera strap to fit. There is a little side pocket that the camera strap can fit into, but who wants to fold up their camera strap every time they put their camera away? Not me! Not to mention, it is rather tedious to try and slide the strap into its pocket.

Third, the case itself has a very nice interior material, but the external material is shiny, fake leather (including the case shoulder strap) that makes the camera case look like a cheap purse (which I got numerous comments on from family and friends).

Fourth, the cover very rarely closes the way it should. It either moves to the right or the left so that the camera is not protected. The cover should close properly every time you close the case. It's not a big deal, but making sure the cover is closed properly is not something I want to be worrying about every time I put my camera away.

There were only two things I liked about the camera case. Number one, the interior material is very soft, so that you cannot scratch your LCD or any other part of the camera. Number two, the magnetic snap to close the case (no zippers means no scratching the camera).

I am very happy with this case. This is the first time I have ever had a case that fits my camera perfectly. I have the Z7590, which is an odd shaped camera due to its 10x lens. But it fits in the case perfectly with room for an extra battery, which I will probably never need, since the battery charge seems to last forever in this camera. I am also not interested in memory card storage, since I bought the camera with a 1 gig card, which will hold more than 600 5mp pictures; much more than I will ever need for a single trip.

To answer the criticisms of other reviewers:

1. It is too tight a fit.

answer: Remove the inner liner that is there to hold smaller cameras.

2. The pocket for the extra battery is too tight.

answer: After a little use, the pocket will stretch a little and the battery will fit just fine.

3. The memory card storage pocket won't hold the plastic case.

answer: Throw away the plastic case. The storage pocket is safe to hold a chip without the case. I have stored SD cards in pockets like this in a case for my PDA for several years now and have had no trouble with the cards. Just get a 1 gig card and you won't have to store extra cards anyway.

4. The bag opens and closes too easily.

I find that the magnetic clasp keeps the bag closed securely, yet makes for very easy access to the camera. I find the clasp to be one of the nicest features of this bag.

This camera case perfectly fits my Kodak Z740 camera. Of course, I had to take out the insert, which was pretty easy to figure out. I will save it for the day when I have a smaller camera. Nice soft interior, VERY soft on the outside. Nice carrying handle which is very comfortable on the shoulder. Small pockets inside are very handy for extra memory cards and batteries. Love the magnetic closure; very easy. Overall, couldn't ask for a better case!

This is a nice camera case but is way too small for the Kodak DX7590. I would not recommend this case for that camera.
