I am reasonably happy with this case, but I am annoyed that Nikon doesn't make more than one size/length case, given that different users may have different length lenses. I bought it to use on my Nikon D200 with the 18 200 Nikkor zoom lens. It works, but if you use that lens without the lens shade, the case is longer than it needs to be (annoying waste of space, making camera bulkier than it needs to be). If you use it with the lens shade, it's just a bit too short. I use the lens shade all the time and at first was very annoyed it was too short, but then realized that if I really forced it, I could just barely fasten the velcro with the lens shade on. And within a week I had stretched the leather enough that it closed pretty easily with the lens shade attached. So it is useable, tho it should be a bit bigger to properly cover the camera body (e.g., in rain).

My other complaint is the method of fastening the case to the camera strap. I didn't realize when I ordered it that it would not be like other SLR cases I have bought for film cameras. A film SLR case attaches firmly to the camera body and the nose just swings down to open. Nice. But on a digital, I guess you need access to too many workings on the camera body. So instead, it is a completely separate case (not attached to camera at all). When it's on, it fastens securely around the camera with velcro. But when you open it to take a picture, it is completely detached, except for an elastic strap that fastens around the camera strap. So the entire case dangles there (bulkily/awkwardly) while you take the picture. I got used to this inconvenience pretty quickly. But my big gripe is that the snap that fastens the elastic pops off pretty often (several times a day, in heavy use on my vacation) and when that happens the entire case falls to earth (in the dirt? over a cliff?). Not a good design.

I would also say it is pretty drastically overpriced, for what it is. There aren't any other camera-fitting options that I know of, so I would buy it again (it's better than nothing and better than a camera bag IMHO) but I fault Nikon for overcharging for a quite imperfect accessory for their professional camera. Nikon, listen up: Make different sizes for different lenses! And fix the strap problem!

Easy to carry around on short trip, easy to take the camera out and put back in and size is perfect for d300 with 18-200 zoom lens. Love it!

I brought this for D200. Never used it for any length of time. It will fit the D200 with 18-200 VR lens attached. It is much more practical to have a larger camera bag such as Canon Deluxe Backpack 200 EG for the same price. One reviewer said it reminds him of 1960's and I cannot agree more. Gave 3 stars because it fits well even with a larger lens and well made.

Honest reviews on CF-D200 Semi-soft Case

Yes, it might be specifically made to cover your D200 with a 18-200mm lens, but it isn't much more than a $50+ dust cover. I'm gonna see what LowePro can do for me, or someone else. This is just cheap, custom fit vinyl for this exclusive Nikon size. Works rather awkwardly with the Nikon strap, just hangs there. You can do better than this! I would not waste my money.

The camera shown is not a Pentax Optio W30. And the silicone skin on the camera is not the product you should receive.

The actual skin does not have the wide, square opening in front. It contours around the lens area, for starters.

However, I have heard of more than one instance where buyers were sent the skin in the illustration. Be warned.

Love everything about the bag except for how the main dividers are velcro where you have to pull to get the camera out. It is not that big of a deal i just have to make sure I hold the velcro spots so it doesn't come apart. Other than that it is great. Perfect amount of storage, well laid out, and comfortable. I bought this bag to go to my beach wedding trip in St. Kitts. My gear consisted of a new Fuji bridge camera (HS-50), a Sony point-shoot (WX150 w/case), and a Canon Elph PowerShot in a water housing case. All of these fit in the main compartment like a champ! I also packed the nook and cranny pockets with a dozen AAs, 3-lithiums for my fuji, 2-Sony batteries, 2-Canon batteries, 2-58mm filters for my Fuji, and a bunch of other small things like lint-free cloths, SD cards, etc.

Overall it did amazing! It held all this, car keys, passport and my Galaxy S3 in the main front pocket too. I literally had everything I didn't want to lose in it. It helped to configure the inner compartments as 2 big squares. The Fuji camera in one side and the other 2 cameras in the other. The strap was very comfortable all day, very adjustable and I could barely tell it was on me most days. It even repelled some fine mist and light rain pretty well, although it is not 100% waterproof.

This is my first Ape Case and I very much appreciate the quality, material, and seemingly durable construction. Padding is more than adequate and overall it looks to last a long time. It easily fits under the stow away area on all planes too. I currently throw it in my hiking pack on day hikes too. It seems to be just the right size for my needs. Hope this helps!

I was looking for a camera bag that could withstand rain and carry the necessities along with my big DSLR without being bulky. This is working great for me and its cute too.

I wanted a multi functional camera case that did not scream out " There is a camera in here." My favorite thing is the available colors, I love the bright orange. because of the color it looks like a regular bag until u pull the camera out. The material worked well @ a soccer game that got rained out. I was able to get all the way down several fields & to my car with a dry camera. The inside has pads that can be placed where u need them. I can fit my Nikon w 180 zoom inside with room for my phone or thin accessories or I can take The Fuji S9000 w the 28-300 lens & still slip my phone & my cool pix Nikon in the sides. There is also a decent sized pocket on the inside for memory cards etc. Outside pockets are roomy, larger area has zipper mesh pocket , two square pockets that could fit cards / batteries etc.. plus I can get my phone & keys in this area also. Smaller front zip can hold a small wallet or phone. The only downside for me is the shoulder pad. I am short & prefer to carry the bag across my body, if I tighten the strap for my perfect fit , the pad is not in a useable spot. I actually removed it . other than that I love it. It is the bag I have been waiting for someone to make.

Living near Orlando we go to theme parks A LOT!! This case is perfect for my Canon EOS Rebel, a zoom lens a few filters and extra batteries. I can also squeeze my wallet in there too. I bought the orange camera case so I can keep track of my camera at all times when traveling. I was able to carry my Canon T3 camera with the short lens, the longer zoom lens, extra battery and charger. I should be able to carry a small wallet in the front zipper pocket also. I am looking forward to trying it out soon.

This bag is well made but it is way too big and cumbersome for me. I am a tall medium-frame woman but when I loaded all my gear in the lower section and tried to wear the pack for even a few minutes around the house it felt very bottom heavy and the shoulder harness kept pulling me backwards. No amount of adjusting would keep it in a comfortable position even with the waist strap on. The top compartment is spacious and I could definitely put a great deal of extra goodies up there.

The harness and waistbelt system is bothersome to me. There is no place to stow all those straps when not in use so I am afraid that if I try to carry it on a plane or even stow it in the car that they will be dragging and hanging on things. Also the bag is listed as carry-on compatible but you will see a disclaimer which says that the top portion needs to be squished down to make it so. I understand the Tamrac Extreme series which is much more expensive offers an option to stow the harness. I am considering the 777 which gets good reviews.

The quality of the bag is good but I gave it a 3 because I think that for the money it could have a few more pro details. I would not hesitate to buy another Tamrac product. Especially like the MAS and SAS system.

I do video production for a living, and I'm always traveling. This bag has been all over the world with me, and it's still in fantastic shape. The quality is top notch, and it has an amazing amount of space. The fabric, the zipper, the buckles...it's all held up.

When I go on trips I can easily fit a:

-Laptop,

-DSLR

-Kit lens

-Extra lens

-H4N

-Lav Mics

-Laptop cables

-External Hard Drive

-Memory cards

-Batteries

With ease. The bag is a little big--almost outside carry-on size--but it's usually okay. I've had some airlines complain, I had to stow it once, but mostly I arrive to board my flight early (attendants usually only get angry when there's no space left).

Here's the bottom line: I've seen people complain in reviews about this bag being too big, or dimensions being too small. That's no reason to give a bag a bad review. Do your research! All of the dimensions are listed out above. If you're only 5'4", it's probably not a great idea to buy a bag that's 25" long.

I'm 5'11", and this bag fits me great. Yes, the bag is huge, but that's what I need! And if it's what you're looking for, don't look any farther.

Best Deals for Tamrac 5550 Adventure 10 Photo/Laptop Backpack -Gray/Black

Well made and it certainly does the job but it's definitely bigger than I had anticipated. Simply just too intrusive as a day pack in my opinion and it is not my choice as such.

I pack it up for my weekend photo trips but I also bring a smaller pack to break out my gear for each days local jaunts with my cameras.

Would I buy it again ? No, but not because of quality...it's just too big for jaunting along the beaten path which is where I spend most of my time. If however I were hiking along a deep trail to do some shooting in a hidden valley, I would definitely shoulder it up in a heart beat and be very happy I had it ! It would not let me down for that type of use.

Honest reviews on Tamrac 5550 Adventure 10 Photo/Laptop Backpack -Gray/Black

While the Adventure 10 is certainly up to Tamrac construction quality, the bag design is certainly not worth about $170. The lower compartment purports to be tall enough for a long lense mounted on a camera body. My Canon 40D and the Canon 100-400mm zoom combination fits only if the lense hood is removed. So, I won't have a camera immediately ready. Had Tamrac gone another 1-2 inches, things in the camera department would have been perfect.

The top compartment is real disappointing. No place to hook keys, no places for pencils or a notepad. No internal zip compartment to hold valuables like wallet and travel papers. All there is is a big "hole" for things to move around and get lost. My $40 Canon backpack (albeit smaller) has all these things. Tamrac doesn't seem to think that being organized is an important thing in the field. It tries to make up for the deficiency by supplying one small zipper bag for the big "hole"

I'm keeping the bag. But, I plan to make modifications to make up for Tamrac's lack of foresight.

I've taken this bag all over the world now, likely 30,000 miles or more. I first got it for a trip to South Africa where I needed something discreet for valuable camera and astronomy equipment. I've been everywhere since then as well, and this bag is ALWAYS with me. It fits on its side in most overhead carry on spaces, and in a pinch and if you don't have the top compartment overstuffed, you can put this under the seats on most planes (the top collapses down). I've traveled with this as my only bag as well. Equipment in the bottom, and clothes in the top. I've hiked to 13000' with it, and I've used it for short family trips. If I need a tripod with me, I just sling a Benro Travel Angel to the bottom.

I have about zero complaints about it. However, a few things could be improved a little. The waterproof compartment isn't completely waterproof (the back isn't plastic, just the front, so if you get soaked in the Rockies like I did, the stuff at the very bottom will get a tiny bit wet (not soaked, just a little wet on the edges). I don't really use the flash card compartments too much. Finally, it's a little difficult to reduce the size of the lower compartment, although possible. Other than that, this is one of my all time best buys!

A whole new world has opened up to my DSCP100! While I haven't yet taken it to any depth, the marine pack has performed beautifully at waterparks, river rafting, and snorkeling. It's simple and easy to use. Caring for the pack and the o-ring is very important, but also very easy to do and takes no time at all. As far as I can tell, I am able to utilize every function of my camera (except the viewfinder). Of course I also cannot change the battery or the memory stick without opening the marine pack. I spent about $500 for the camera, marine pack and accessories here at amazon and consider it money very well spent.

Upon my purchase of the Sony Marine Pack, I was anxious to test it out and did so during my diving vacation in Belize, Central America.

The marine pack performed marvelously, even at the depth of 34m (112ft) and I am sure at its max depth of 40m (130ft).

The underwater pictures taken with my Sony CyberShot were amazing. The quality of the photos, which even amazed the dive master of the center, demonstrated that the Marine Pack performed perfectly. Its clear housing allowed the use of the integrated flash of the camera, which was definitely beneficial. Its buoyancy was great, and its relatively small size, allowed me to carry it in my hand and maintain my personal buoyancy throughout my dives.

All my expectations came true. Making sure to follow the guidelines when not in use, I expect to use this pack for a long time on future diving adventures.

I strongly recommend this Marine Pack for those who expect to enjoy taking photos during a beach and dive adventures.

Honest reviews on Sony MPKPHB Marine Pack for DSCP100 & DSCP150 Digital Cameras

I actually bought the DSC-P150 camera especially for underwater photography. It was cheaper to buy the camera and this underwater housing than it would have been to buy the underwater housing for the camera I already had, plus the DSC-P150 has better resolution!

I have used this camera in both fresh and saltwater at depths up to 95 feet. I have had absolutely no leakage. All camera controls are accessable through the housing. The only thing I could wish for would be bluetooth connectivity, so that I didn't have to take the camera out to download pictures.

Unless you are using the camera at very shallow depths (where you still have some natural light), I recommend getting an external strobe (flash). This will improve your pictures by reducing the backscatter caused by using the on-camera flash. The camera's flash is so close to the lens that you will catch the light bouncing back off of tiny particles in the water, which show up like white dust. Personally, I use a Sea & Sea YS90 Auto, which can be triggered as a slave (by "seeing" the on-camera flash fire) or by using a fiber optic kit that blocks the on-camera flash and sends the signal directly to the YS90. This kit is made by Sea & Sea. The YS90 is not cheap, but you can have a lot of fun without it. I saved up and found it on sale for half-price!

I was using my Tamrac 5627 Pro 7 Digital Zoom Camera Bag (Black) to carry my D-SLR and 18-70 mm lens. I recently purchased an 80-200 mm lens. And I needed a way to carry it with the camera bag during shoots.

This Lens case protects the lens well, has more than adequate padding inside and attaches securely and easily to a Tamrac bag through the M.A.S.slot. For 25 dollars it seems to do the job well as a value for money product.

However, I haven't tested it's water proof capabilities and do not plan to.

Pro:

1. Solid and durable material. very well made.

2. Light weight!

3. Well fit and good depth for 70-200 f2.8 lens

Could-have-been-better

1. A shoulder belt option to give flexibility over just on the waist belt

2. Design: Slightly increase in diameter (say 5mm) would be nice, so that it is not too tight to squeeze in the 70-200, when the tripod ring AND quick release plate are attached. It's harder to retrieve the lens with top-opening when the lens is squeezed in.

With a pair of these cases attached to the Tamrac 517 Tele-Zoom Pack (Black), I can carry a Sony A900 camera and all three lenses in a reasonably compact manner. However, I wouldn't want to hike much with this combination because it is a bit heavy to carry using one shoulder strap. I bought this camera bag without any previous "testing". I own a Canon A710 is and chose this bag according to the Tamrac guide. The fit is perfect, not too tight not too loose. I include in the bag a couple batteries and a card reader (in the outter pocket). It has a very clever belt strap. I like the blue option better.

This camera case is very nice. It is small, compact and looks like it would hold batteries and memory cards really well. It is nice looking and nice. Did I mention it seems nice?

One major problem, it doesn't fit the camera (Canon PowerShot S5 IS) that I bought it for. It was listed on the camera's page as being a case to buy with it. There is no way I can get it to fit! The camera is bigger than the case.

I couldn't give the camera case a lower rating, though, because it's not it's fault it was listed on the camera's page, and it really does look like a nice case. I just wish it fit my camera.

Best Deals for Tamrac 5691 Digital 1 Camera Bag (Blue)

I recently purchased a Canon A720is digital camera and was looking for a case for it. I have found it in this Tamrac model 5691. It fits the A720is perfectly with space in the accessory pocket for four extra AA batteries and an extra camera card. The black balistic nylon is smooth and good looking and appears to be very tough. It has a very sturdy neck strap with removable clips and a belt loop on the back. The main compartment has a flap with a buckle and the accessory compartment has a zipper closure. Inside the accessory compartment are two pockets to hold camera cards and batteries. The assembly quality is very good. In fact, I am having a hard time figuring out how to improve this case, and I don't think it is possible-it's perfect as it is, at least for a Canon A720is. The only quibble I can think of is that it would be nice if it came in nuetral grey as I think the black color may be a heat sink in the Sacramento summer sun when it reaches 115 degrees as it did several summers ago. The black looks nice though. So in conclusion I am very happy, an excellent camera and an excellent case to go with it.

This is the 2nd Tamrac Bag I've purchased to match a 2nd Canon Point & Shoot. This one was a gift and it was based on my use over the last 2 years of the 5690 model. The camera fits snug & stays in place yet will easily slide out with a tug of the strap or by using your fingers. Front Pouches work well for extra batteries & storage cards.

Bag is well made, durable & an excellent value. Tamrac website is also very helpful = product info & selection

I bought this case for my new Canon SX200IS and it fits perfectly.

The small auxiliary pocket at the front actually is big enough to hold my Sony GPS CS-3KA unit.

The padding of the case is thick enough to protect the camera from most outside damage (no, it probably won't survive an elephant sitting on it ...), and the flap closes the case effectively enough to provide a good shield against the elements.

The camera does not have any wiggle room, it is a snug, but not a tight, fit. It is easy to pull out of the case, without having the setting dial catch a corner and being moved in a different position (well, that happened a lot with the case I was using before really annoying if you expect the aperture priority setting and the video setting is active instead ...).

The case, when filled with the camera and the GPS unit, is not really pocket sized anymore good thing that they included a nice long over-the-shoulder carrying strap.

The only thing I am missing here is a strip of velcro to fixate the flap, instead of always having to close the buckle to prevent the camera from falling out. That is not a minor issue in my point of view, because I want to access the camera real quick, and to always have to undo the buckle first is certainly counterproductive. The alternative would be to just let the flap hang there without closing the buckle do that at your own peril.

Other than that, it is a very functional, no frills, fits like a glove, sturdy as a rock camera bag.

this is a unique design, the seller forgot to mention that the black lines are actually soft and fur like. i really like it. the only complaint i have is that the material is really delicate, if you just put your nail on the silver part, it'll leave an indent, so imagine when it's in a purse with keys and pens and other things. so don't expect it to stay looking like new. other than that it works well, it's got a strap on the inside to hold the camera and a little net to hold something like a memory chip. got a lot of compliments on it.

I realize this case was very cheap, although I've purchased other items at a cheap rates and the quality was actually good. This case is cute and on mine the zippers work just fine. I think the material of this case looks cheap... they could have used better materials and offered this at a little higher rate to make this a hit. I have a Canon PowerShot SD960 IS and it fits snug as long as the velcro strap is tightly secured, the little storage pocket is okay, but watch out when you open your case because your valuables will fall out of this pocket. Overall it's cute and it'll work for now.

This case is pretty nice. It is soft, but it retains its form so you don't have to worry about your camera too much. I wouldn't advise dropping it, but I think it would manage a short fall with no issues. There is a hook that you can use to attach it to another item (belt/bag). The black lines are like a velvety material. Bought it for my wife's Canon ELPH 500 HS and it fits well.
