Review of Lowepro Primus Minimus All Weather Backpack (Black)

Lowepro Primus Minimus All Weather Backpack

When I was looking for a camera bag I simply wanted something that I could hike around with and take on a plane. Not only does it work well in both of these situations I am also confident in traveling in crowded places with it since it is only accessible from the side facing your back. Its all weather cover has proven to come in handy while living in the rainy northwest as well. Something else that's really neat about this backpack is that it can be converted into a normal spacious backpack by removing all the partitions inside. As a side note the partitions feel really strong with a plastic backing inside. Another plus is the easy side access so you can grab your camera quickly.

Things that may bother some people is that it does have a lot of adjustable straps meaning there are a lot (15 or so) of loose straps everywhere. On the plus side to that it is the most comfortable backpack I have owned, but the straps are everywhere. Also the all weather cover is a tight fit and sort of hard to stuff back in its pouch. Lastly the adjustable tripod holder takes some muscle to move since it's a matter of pushing a Velcro system up and down, but you shouldn't have to move it more than once unless you have more than 1 tripod...or fishing pole like me :).

In conclusion if you are looking for a backpack that you can hike with, carry some extra gear, that's comfortable and secure, and of course able to pack a camera body and a couple of lenses this is the bag for you. Also, if your looking for more room they come in different sizes I think.

The bag fit all my needs and provided more than I was expecting so I gave it 5/5 stars.

I was looking for a backpack that would be comfortable for day hikes, carry my d90 with 2-3 lenses and accessories, and with a tripod holder. I also wanted room to carry a light jacket and other non-camera things in the top compartment. Finally, I wanted quick access to my camera without taking the bag off, a pocket for a water bottle and a netbook compartment. This backpack does all of this perfectly! I was initially concerned about the side access pocket and the outer compartment that I use to hold my netbook but they both work great. The quick access door takes a little practice if you want to remove your camera without slinging the bag around but once you get used to it it's easy to do. The outer compartment is perfect if you have a netbook in a protective sleeve that you want to carry through the airport, etc.

Pros:

high quality

current price (vs retail)

very comfortable

easy camera access

tripod holder

Cons:

quick access too small for camera larger than d90

could use a couple more pockets inside

Zippers are high quality but can be a little difficult to zip and unzip

Overall, it's a great bag that seems to get better the more I use it.

This is a great cover. Fit my X10 perfectly. Quick to open and close. Great price. The case does appear to be real leather with the inside soft fabric lined. it is held in place when open. It is east to remove to access the battery and memory card. All the controls are accessible. It is a great case, protects the camera and looks great.

This item came on time, fit perfectly for Fuji x10. Good price for the product, I'm very happy with it. Highly recommend for all Fuji X10 user.

This case was bought to protect the camera from dings and scrapes of usual use or transporting in my back pack. There were several cases to choose from varying in color and price. I ordered this case because of description, its leather and its price. The camera easily goes into the case, its well protected, it looks very good, adding to the camera itself. Its not bulky and does not add any heftiness to the camera because I usually carry it in a cargo pocket. The camera stays in case when open, and has a strap which at this time I do not use. The strap tends to secure the camera in case by attaching to the stap rings on the camera. If I were to upgrade this case I would add a screw that would go through the case and to the tripod mount screw.

Overall it does its job, looks great and protects the camera.....two thumbs up

Honest reviews on MegaGear Fujifilm FinePix X20 , X10 EVER READY Leather Case Bag

Case fits well and allows use of camera while in case. The snap buttons are a bit shoddy and could use some improvement as they release too easily for my taste. Decent case for the money.

This is a nice case for the money. Better than I expected considering it's 1/4 the price of the OEM case. The workmanship is very good and it fits the camera well. The bottom section alone makes for a great half case. The included strap is also well made, but do not use it as I have an OP/TECH 2201021 neck strap, which works perfectly with this case. My only regret is not getting the light brown version for that ultra-retro look, although black is a little less conspicuous out in public. Then again at this price, I just might order a light brown one too. A great value, which I highly recommend.

Not the easiest to remove and replace my new Sony DSC rx100 ii but I did use it in my carry-on luggage during a recent trip. At home I'm using it to store my camera accessories and keep the camera in a soft bag which makes it more readily accessible.

Just received this case and it is not really what is advertised. There is no "velcro strap" to hold the camera in place, only a small mesh pocket that is too small for a camera. Overall, I would probably return this is I had spent more money on it. Only useful if you are carrying in a purse or bag.It is only just okay.

I had purchased a compact Panasonic DMC ZR1 and actually contacted LowePro for help. Emailed my camera dimensions and model. Got back 3 choices, which saved me going through the many choices they have. I then read the reviews and was grateful that people gave the camera models they had for the case in question. This helped me figure out how the inside dimensions would work with my camera. I could look up their camera and dimensions and work from there. By comparing their camera dimensions and comments on fit to mine I knew that this case was my best choice. BTW my camera dimensions are: 3 3/4" (W) x2 1/4" (H) x 1" (D). I took into account the zoom lens sticking out some and chose this case. Not too tight. Not too loose. Just right. Thanks to Lowepro for their help and to all the reviewers. A great case. Protects the camera and gives versatility with its carry options. Just right for my needs.

I bought this for my husband who is just starting a hobby in photography. It holds his camera, lenses and a lot of other equipment he might need for a photo shoot. It is very light weight but seems quite sturdy. He says it is very comfortable and easy to carry.

Love everything about the bag except for how the main dividers are velcro where you have to pull to get the camera out. It is not that big of a deal i just have to make sure I hold the velcro spots so it doesn't come apart. Other than that it is great. Perfect amount of storage, well laid out, and comfortable. Amazon ships fast as usual!!!!

I recently purchased an Olympus camera and really needed both a tripod and a camera case, so I purchased this kit because it seemed the most cost-effective way to get those items in addition to all the extra stuff that came with it. I haven't used some of the items yet, but the tripod is a perfect height and so far is really stable and easy to use.

I also like the USB card reader though I didn't originally think I'd have a use for it since my computer comes with a card-reader built in. However, it enables me to watch videos from the memory card on my Blu-Ray player [that has a USB port], which is really convenient.

The only negative thing I have to say about the product at this point is that the camera case is already torn near the handle even though I haven't put anything other than the camera itself inside it [and haven't even carried it around much as it mostly just sits inside my bag when I'm taking the camera somewhere]. It is torn as though the weight of the camera [1.8 lbs.] is too much for the case, which is weird considering the case is supposed to be FOR Olympus cameras. Still, the case works just fine it is a good storage place for the camera, which was my goal, after all.

In all, I'm satisfied with the purchase and consider this kit a good value.

This fits my x100 perfectly, and it appears to be real leather, not only from the feel and smell, but from a couple of the edges on the product, where you can see a bit of unblackened, fibrous leather. The case is stylish in a retro way, and nice and stout. Any x100 clad in this will be able to take some pretty significant bumps without showing a mark.

I have the JJC lens hood adapter on the front of my lens, and that, plus the lens cap, still fit inside this case. It'd be extra cool if they made one with a bit wider/longer lens front to accomodate the hood too, but that's probably way too much wishful thinking.

The included strap is also nice, but a bit longer than the original. If you sling around head and arm, that might be helpful. I usually hang the x100 just around my neck, and this is bouncing at belt height on me, and I'm 6'3".

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I remember the days 50 or so years ago when the leather eveready case that came with the camera got in the way of taking photos so was discarded. But finding a useful and protective way to carry the X100 and preserve its quickness hasn't been that easy either. It doesn't exactly fit on a belt like a smaller point and shoot and it doesnt really need to go in a little soft shoulder bag like a micro 4/3 and a bunch of lenses. So when I saw this case I thought I'd try it. The price compared to what appears to be the same as Fujifilm offering (1/5 to 1/6)decided it. The quality is way better than expected. It certainly will protect the X100 in nostalgic style.

Whether it will work better to take pictures this time around is yet to be seen.Fujifilm LC-X100 Leather Case for X100

Best Deals for Fujifilm FinePix X100 Leather Camera Case -Black

I've been wanting a case for my X100 since I got it last year, but there's no way I would pay what Fuji wants for it. I'd looked at a few alternatives, like the Rainbow Imaging leather case here on Amazon which is about $80-90 I believe. Still a little expensive. I didn't even know this case existed until I happened to come across someone recommending it on a forum. Because it's black I think it's even better looking than the official Fuji one (why would you put a brown case on a black and silver camera?). Upon receiving it I was very happy with the quality, it's very well made, forms to the camera well, and had a nice, rich leathery smell. I half expected it to be of a pleather material for this price, but it really feels like real leather. I have heard that it's just imitation leather, however. Fooled me. I never really cared for the top half of these half-cases, but it does fit over the camera as it should and protects it nice and snugly. I like that this one doesn't screw into the tripod hole at the bottom of the camera but but uses the little leather "arms" to wrap over the neck strap lugs just like the Fuji case. There's a Fujifilm logo on the part that covers the lens that doesn't appear in the picture, as well as an X100 logo on the top part of the case. There are no markings or logos on the inside half on the camera.

One thing I didn't understand when I first put the camera in was why it was sitting so high up in the case, like it couldn't really completely sit into it. I noticed at the bottom of the case there's a little pad or something to keep the bottom protected, but with it in, the focus selection switch couldn't even meet up with the hole for it in the case. The bottom "pad" thing can be easily removed, it's just stuck in there with some mild glue, it's not even sewn in. I took it out and laid some thin felt down to cover the exposed cork or whatever it is and now the camera sits fully into the case and everything is right where it should be.

Overall I'm very happy with the craftsmanship, quality, and added protection and comfort this case adds to the camera.

Honest reviews on Fujifilm FinePix X100 Leather Camera Case -Black

When ordering the case, I had not expected too much as the price for this case is significantly lower than for the original Fujifilm case. It turns out though this case is of very good quality leather, has a magnetic clasp and performs probably just like the original.

I just received my TLZ2 today, and have been trying to fit all my gear in it. At first sight, it was much larger than I imagined. The front pocket is GIANT and fits a smallish lens (Canon 10-22) quite easily. For the price, it is a very solid bag. I bought it because I will be backpack travelling through Europe this summer, and I wanted a bag that allowed easy access to my camera while on foot, with the possibility of an extra lens plus some accessories. I think I made the right choice.

I can fairly easily fit the following gear into the bag, even with a bit of extra room:

40D with 24-105mm attached with lens hood on backwards

10-22mm (outside pocket) with lens hood detached (under the 24-105)

Extra battery and charger (on bottom of bag)

Cleaning kit including brush, spray and cloth (on elastic loops inside)

B + W Polarizer in the plastic case that it came with (inner pocket)

Extra memory card (inner pocket)

Canon wired remote (outside pocket)

One thing about the bag that is weird is the reverse zipper to the main compartment. It makes opening the bag when it's around your shoulder pretty awkward. Also, for those of you with battery grips or full-sized bodies, I can't imagine them fitting.

Have had this bag for a few years. Has held up well to a lot of tossing around. The top load feature is great. Have had more than one occasion where camera was in bag but photo opportunity came up, and was able to whip out the camera pretty fast. Only thing I can think of is I wish the front pocket was a little larger, but other than that, it's been a great little bag.

Best Deals for Lowepro Topload Zoom 2 Camera Bag - Green

I've had this bag for about a year, and I use it more than my other bags. I only use a backpack if I know I'm going to have a safe place to put it down which isn't that often. I do a lot of event photography and spend a lot of time outdoors, so it's essential that the bag be durable and it is so far, no seams coming out of place, or tears. It's fairly water resistant, so you don't have to worry very much about rain, though I doubt it would hold up well if the bag fell into water and you weren't immediately able to retrieve it it's a good thing I have no personal experience with this yet!

It's sufficiently well padded, perhaps about a half inch, and I don't take too many precautions when putting it down. It fits my 40D (no grip) with 24-70 lens perfectly. I store my extra CF cards in the inside top pouch, which is completely waterproof, and my other small essentials in the larger outside pouch, which can easier fit my cell phone, IDs, keys, and extra battery and charger.

Actually, however, I usually use this bag precisely because I don't want it to carry around a camera body. The bag also fits my 70-200 2.8 IS and 50mm 1.4, but without the body attached. It's convenient to have one camera around my neck, and use to bag to quickly switch out lenses.

If you're traveling in a region where you're afraid your gear might get stolen, this bag is also perfect. If you're not trying for some serious photography, take a single lens + body combo and keep it in the bag. You can use a wrist strap as an additional way to keep the camera attached to you at all times, and hold on the handle on the top. Obviously a bag this shape is holding a nice camera inside, but I doubt anyone would be able to grab it off your shoulder if you were also connected to it in two other places.

I have prettier, more expensive bags, but not ones that are more useful.

Honest reviews on Lowepro Topload Zoom 2 Camera Bag - Green

I'm not sure about the 2 camera description for this bag, I got it because I've a telephoto and a shorter lense and didn't want two bag's for one camera when I switch lenses. With my EF 70-300mm lense on my 400D XTi it fit's great. Just right. I've also a Cannon ET-65B hood but you'll have to turn it around. Still fits fine. Figure the inside depth at a maximum 9 1/2" for your cam and telephoto on. It's got a strap that go's with, a wide belt loop and a nice wide handle on the lid. A zippered lid and I'm not real sure about how water proof they are. Theres a little 3"x6" pouch inside the lid. Theres also a 4"x4" loose pad and I use that to lay over the cam's LCD. Good value for the price. It's not junk!

This bag it great for carrying around my D300 with 24-70 combo. Won't fit with the hood installed; that must be stowed in inverted position. Also, I'm guessing that this bag wouldn't work with a grip. But, this is the bag I use to carry the camera around because it's not bulky and offers protection for my setup.

I also have the TLZ1 which is great for the D300 and 18-200 (or anything smaller) but that wouldn't fit the 24-70 lens.

This combination case and mount is a great solution for using your GPS in more than one car and being able to quickly remove your GPS--and any evidence of it--when you leave your car. I have a Garmin 1450, and it fits into this case snugly. Any difficulty removing it from the case isn't an issue for me, as I have no reason to take it out. Any problem removing the power cable isn't an issue either, as I leave the cable plugged into the GPS after unplugging it from the car, and wrap it around the case after I've folded the case around the GPS, then put the whole thing in my bag. No messing with a separate case or trying to hide a separate mount so that it's not visible in the unoccupied car. It's inevitably going to hang down and obstruct something--either an AC vent, radio control, or something, but it's easy enough to lift the hanging part out of the way and reach underneath or adjust its position slightly with one hand. Similarly, if the angle isn't right, or there's glare, it's very easy to adjust the position slightly by moving the sticky mount just a little bit. The mount grips the windshield without fail. Another big positive is that it's not above the dashboard, blocking any of my view, which I think is a real safety concern with a 5" GPS in a small car. The only negative, and this is a small thing, is that the sticky silicone part ends up against the GPS screen when the case is folded closed, and it leaves on the screen subtle prints of the texture of the sticky pad. I keep a small microfiber cloth (like you use for eyeglasses or computer screens) tucked into the little stretchy flap on the back of the unit to be able to periodically wipe the screen clean.

This little wallet like holder works very well holding your GPS to the dash of most cars, while making it extremely easy to take with you. It was the perfect solution for us renting a car in France. Unit was protected by Lowepro when in carry on bag, and instantly available when you needed it in car or navigating on foot.

Best Deals for Lowepro 5.0 Navi Dash GPS Mounting Case

I just got this and it is really convenient. I would agree with the comment that you can not adjust the angle of the GPS as it hangs from the dash, so if you need your GPS to be "just so" to see it, then maybe this isn't for you. Or, if you always have your window mount up in the same car, then fine, you are all set. But, I have three cars and the GPS moves between them all. So for me this is really handy because it is easy to deploy, a stable mnount, AND a great case. I don't like fooling with the window mounts and the weighted pads are bulky, heavy and the GPS can block part of your view. Nothing's perfect, but this does just what it says it will do. Build quality is good. So far I am really pleased.

Honest reviews on Lowepro 5.0 Navi Dash GPS Mounting Case

This sounded like a great idea, much easier than fooling with a windshield mount. It's a nice quality case, worked as advertised, held on the the dash with no problem, no slipping. BUT in my car it hung at an angle tilted slightly away from me, and the sun was on it, and no matter what I did I could not see the screen clearly. If you wear glasses as I do, be aware that you may not be looking through the right part of your lens with this hanging in front of the dash instead of near eye level on the windshield. A great product for those who are able to see clearly at that angle. The other drawback is that the windshield mount weighs about 1 pound in order to anchor securely to the dash, so when trying to travel light its just that extra bit of weight to tote. Also a bit awkward trying to plug the power cord into it. I am returning this as it just doesn't work for me.

This bag is sturdy & well put together. It is spacious & has a good deal of inner compartments for camera & accessories. I love that it can be used as a backpack as well. I am sooooooo happy with this bag. It is the BEST for its price! Only thing i wish it had were more pockets but...i love pockets. It has all that is really needed though. I have a shoulder injury and was told it was best that I don't carry my laptop backpack and my shoulder strap camera bag (both of which I always overfilled causing more stress on my shoulder). I've read reviews for many bags and have looked at many pictures of bags & even though this one had no reviews I had to go with my gut & give this one a try. I've had this bag for over a month and it has served me well. I have a 15.6 Laptop in my bag, it supposed to be for a slightly smaller laptop, but fits fine.
