I just picked up this great simple little camera bean bag. I've taken it on a few snowshoe trips in the Sierra's and it's worked out great. Makes my trip much easier if I don't have to strap a bulky tripod to my backpack. Sturdy construction and with the handles it straps easily to the outside of my backpack. It rests nicely on most rough surfaces and gives me a stable place to shoot with my Canon SLR.

I've even had a few "hey cool, what's that?" comments from people on the trail. I wouldn't have expected that from a bean bag.

If I'm going ultra light I pack it with polystyrene beads which I took out of my kids large bean bag seats. If I'm in a green eco mood and want a little more stability I pack it with rice. With rice it also serves as an emergency back up meal if I get myself into trouble out on the trail:)

The Wild Grizzly bean bag works really well on long trips. It was light weight and held the camera steady in all types of terrain. During a trip to Yellowstone it was perfect on fallen trees, on tree limbs and rocks. I was able to leave the tripod in the car. I was surprised that it held my longer lens well with no movement. I especially enjoy using the car as a blind and using the Grizzly on the window to shoot. Great product. My wife who sells on Ebay also uses the Grizzly to photograph her items that are for sale.

I have a new eBay store and take my own photos to post. I was finding it difficult to get the picture quality I needed. I purchased one Wild Grizzly Bean Bag to experiment with and it helped me stabilize my camera perfectly! I get clearer pictures now, faster than ever, without using a tri-pod. Also, I have purchased the larger one to take with me in the car. I find a lot of great scenes to photograph when I go on road trips and need to capture them quickly. I simply park along the roadside, put the window down, place my camera on my Grizzly Bean Bag and shoot! I'm a satisfied customer!

Honest reviews on Grizzly Camera Bean Bag (Medium-Blue), Photography Bean Bag, Video

I wanted something super light weight to traveling. I filled this with the same little beans you use to fill a bean bag. So it is very light. I have a Canon 60D and was wondering if it would really hold its weight. But I was able to put this on the back of a chair (patio chair on cruise balcony) and it balanced fine even with my Speedlite on the camera. I am very pleased as this is much easier to carry than my heavy tripod.

I wanted something to fit my Canon T1i camera with my Tamron 18-270 zoom lens, with a few small accessories, nothing else. This is exactly the right size. Padding is thick enough on sides and bottom. The padding on the top is a little thinner. The loop you insert the lens through is held in place with velcro and is completely adjustable.

I just inherited a Nikon D5000 with a 55-200mm lens. I already have a backpack and daypack that I really like, and didn't want to purchase another bag to lug around. The Camaroo Express 1.0 is exactly what I was looking for. The foam lining is high density, the padded holster for the lens is convenient and removable, and the Velcro provides a secure closure. It fits my camera exactly as pictured. For the price, I am very happy with my purchase.

Traveling in Europe, I wanted to be able to carry my camera without looking like a tourist, and this case did the trick. It fit into my purse and was the perfect size for a Nikon D50 with a 28-105mm lens, holding it snugly. I detached the top and simply zipped my purse over it. Easy to reach in, grab and shoot. (My purse is about 6" wide, 10" deep.)

I didn't want to have a big bulky camera bag to carry around with me one that screamed 'I'm carrying around a big expensive camera' so I opted to get this little case to put inside my other bags. And it works great! it's nice and small but still protects the camera inside.

I took this item to house my Canon 7D with lens on my trip to Spain. I didn't want to carry a regular camera bag, so I just put this inside one of my bigger satchels. It protected my camera in my purse, and I was not so obviously carrying a big-gun-camera, even in the very crowded ramblas. One of my best buys for sure.

The camera shown is not a Pentax Optio W30. And the silicone skin on the camera is not the product you should receive.

The actual skin does not have the wide, square opening in front. It contours around the lens area, for starters.

However, I have heard of more than one instance where buyers were sent the skin in the illustration. Be warned.

Easily fits my Canon 6D and two primes ( the 50mm 1.4 and 40mm 2.8 ) But will also fit the 6D and one larger sized lens like the 24-105 or 17-40 with some room to spare. This bag looks good, feels good, and even smells good. A lot of attention to detail went into it. I'm very pleased with the construction and quality of materials. Well worth the price IMO. Highly recommended!

Great bag, a pleasure to use. Looks awesome and inconspicuous. Perfect for an interchangeable lens camera with a smaller extra lens and accessories.

Best Deals for ONA Bowery Shoulder Bag/Insert (Field Tan)

It's tougher to design a small bag than a larger bag. A small bag with thick padding will carry very little, too thin on the construction and it is flimsy and lacks protection. Ona did a great job designing and building this bag. It is small enough to be carried everywhere, yet it is unobtrusive easily fitting the body without the unbalancing feeling of a medium or large bag. It will fit many configurations of camera/lens/accessories. It won't carry everything all at once, rather it fits one or two lenses. I purchased it to carry my camera and a flash unit, maybe fitting in a pancake lens also. Beautiful construction, this will last a lifetime, it is one of those bags that will look better with time. One last thing, there is no velcro, zippers or plastic buckles.

The invisibleshield works to protect the screen from scratches but it's not crystal clear. If protecting the screen from scratches is the primary concern, this product will work. But, in addition to the protection, if screen clarity is also important, you may want to get something different.

Pentax PTX-L105 3-In-1 Neoprene Case for Pentax Digital Cameras
Customer Ratings: 3 stars

I was hoping this was the "3 case" neoprene case and it was!!! I can't believe that amazon is not providing a picture and description (maybe they will in the future), because they would sell a lot more! I have a w10 and needed a case I could strap-on for kayaking. This is it and more. The case is quality made nylon over neoprane, with a velcro flap closure (just what I wanted, not zipper). It has a clip for attaching to belts or vests (like a gerber knife). It has a little groumet hole in the top flap that a little strap could go through My one wish is for a groumet hole on the bottom, for drainage while yaking. The case fits my w10 w/rubber skin perfectly! Snug, yet not too snug. No wasted space or pockets. The other two items of the "3 case" system are:

1) a stretchy nylon/neoprene waist belt with hip-snugging pockets for accessories. It is not a narrow belt, but suprisingly wide like a fanny pack (maybe 6-7") yet snug like a back support. This too could be used while swimming. Maybe put dead fish pieces in the pockets to feed the sharks?

2) an arm/ankle? band, same nylon over neopren, velcro's around the arm. It looks a little like a blood pressure strap. I would guess it is for snorkling/swimming too. Perfect for active stuff like fishing, boarding, triathalons, etc.

Both of the above belts integrate with the case. They have a slot into which the case's clip fits snuggly.

Pretty cool system, I recommend it! I wish there had been a review before I bought it because it was a gamble. But it was just what I wanted. Really high quality and fully functional.

The case in the picture is all black and looks like leather. The one I received is black and red and looks nothing like the picture. I looked carefully through all the different cases before choosing this case which cost more money than some of the others. I paid more money for this case and received the wrong case. I chose to keep it because it is functional and it is a hassle to send things back. I must say I am not happy about it but will use it anyway.

The photo that goes with this case is not at all like what will be sent. Case is red/black. Comes with armband and waist holder. Waist holder has two spots for back up batteries. Over all an OK case. Could be more secure.

Honest reviews on Pentax PTX-L105 3-In-1 Neoprene Case for Pentax Digital Cameras

The picture for this product is a classy looking camera case. The reality is an amorphous shaped ugly red and black cheap looking case that no one would want. Change the photo or drop the product! I sent it back fast!

These sleeves are a great way to protect your camera investment. If you don't ship your cameras in sleeves, you are making a mistake. All you need is for a random screw to migrate in the shipping case and scratch up your display to realize how important these sleeves are.

They are not bulky like the 15" soft wraps I've been using. This frees up more room in my Pelican case.

This camera sleeve came up in a search when I ordered it for my Canon SLR. With an Extended battery pack it's perfect but without it, the sleeve is too large. They make a specific case for the 5D without the battery pack. Don't order this one by accident...like I did.

Snugly protects and cushions my T2i + battery grip, 35mm lens PLUS my Zacuto Gorilla base plate AND my quick release plate (must turned sideways to fit) like a charm. It may even squeeze a longer lens, perhaps up to an 85mm prime if pushed. I'll pack with this when traveling light, leaving most of the gear in my lens pack at home. It slips right in between packed and cubed clothing items (cushioning) in my under airline seat stored Tumi soft carry on.

Best Deals for LensCoat LCBBPBK BodyBag Pro (Black)

Looking for something to cover my camera body when not using the camera. It fit the camera, with battery grip, like a glove. Soft and not to tight. I find them easy to put away in my Pelican case for traveling. I always transport my cameras without lens. Great item. Highly recommend.

Honest reviews on LensCoat LCBBPBK BodyBag Pro (Black)

Just bought this one for my Nikon D800E which has a MB-D12 battery grip. I usually store my bodies and lenses separated and this is one great way to protect your gear from bumping from each other in a non-partitioned travel bag.

I go this one because my Pelican case didn't have the right partition size for my preferred configuration. This was the easiest way around it.

ZAGG invisibleSHIELD for Canon 1D Mark II (Screen) Review

ZAGG invisibleSHIELD for Canon 1D Mark II
Customer Ratings: 5 stars
Buy Now
The Canon 1D Mark II camera is an excellent but older camera with a two-inch screen. Canon has long replaced this model with several updates. This could explain the oversupply of this very affordable LCD screen protector. Most screen protectors easily cost $10 more.

I bought one each for my Canon xS and xTi cameras respectively as both have LCD screens the same size as the 1D Mark II. The fit is perfect and I will be ordering more. The cover applies easily and stays on securely. The screen provides excellent protection against common scratches (fingernail, bumps).

Highly recommend for all Canon cameras with an LCD screen of 2-2.5", especially at this low price. Grab them while they are still available!

One correction I have to make, though, about the product dimensions. It says Product Dimensions: 0.8 x 5 x 8.5 inches. This is for the cardboard support sheet the laminate comes in. The actual laminate is no more than 2.5" diagonally, just enough to cover the LCD screen.

Edit: as soon as I ordered four more of these, the price per laminate went up five dollars. I was very, very lucky to see a deal when it was available. Still, Zagg makes an excellent product and I'd still recommend these

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program

I have been a Lowepro fan for decades. Although I have had one or two of their products that were just okay, almost all of their bags that I have owned were well thought out and expertly made. This case is no exception, as a matter of fact, it is one of my favorites.

I don't currently own a spotting scope but as an avid birder I do borrow them from friends or rent one when I go somewhere that a pair of binoculars just won't do it. Shore birds, wading birds, extremely shy birds, or birds in an area with limited access are all perfect subjects for a spotting scope. I love using them, especially when birding with a group as everyone can get a chance to look through it.

The biggest problem that many people have is that it can be difficult to carry the scope, tripod, binoculars and the rest of your gear. This case (and it's bigger brother, the350 AW) are perfect for holding all of your stuff. In addition, it comes with a weather proof cover built-in to it!

I thought that a video review might be a good way to show off this bag. I hope that it is helpful to you.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This pack has lot of convenient pockets accessible both inside and out. The main padded inside scope sleeve is adjustable so that it could also support a DSLR with a decent size telephoto lens attaches (such as a 70-200 or 100-400mm), and the tripod pocket and strap that slides out of top and bottom of the pack are very useful. There are pack better suited for just photography, but if you need a scope pack that can support a camera this is near perfect. My only complain is that there are no dedicated memory card pockets. Even if this is used for a large scope, they expect that the smaller pouches would be used for a compact camera, possibly for digi-scoping so a little CF/SD pockets would be most welcomed and could be used by small scope filters or parts if you didn't need memory card storage. Finally the waterproof shell that's tucked into the bottom is a nice feature, but I doubt I'll need it much since it's material and overlapping zipper flaps would keep your gear dry in all but a down pour.

PROS:

+ Lots of room

+ Doubles as a telephoto SLR case

+ Lots of pockets (including a side drink pocket)

+ Great tripod holder

+ Top and side handles

+ Waterproof shell

CONS:

No dedicated CF/SD card pockets

Best Deals for Lowepro LP36359 Scope Travel 200 AW Travel and Field Photo/Optics

I was in the market for a case for my recently acquired Vanguard Endeavor HD 82A Angled Eyepiece Spotting Scope with 20-60x Magnification and based on my past experience with Lowepro camera bags (I currently own five!) I had narrowed my choice down to this bag and the larger Lowepro LP36357 Scope Porter 200 AW Spotting Scope and Tripod Backpack Dark Olive. I was leaning towards the Scope Porter when I came across a really good sale price on this bag, the Scope Travel 200 (under $100) and decided to go that route instead.

I'm not disappointed I went with the Scope Travel 200, as it turns out it's just about the right size for my needs. The Vanguard HD 82A, which is about a foot long, just manages to slip into the scope compartment of the pack, even with the Vanguard's padded carry jacket attached. (For bigger scopes you'll need the larger Lowepro pack, which can handle an 18" scope.) There's plenty of room in the pack for all my nature-watching accessories, like field guides, compact binos, a water bottle, lunch, notebooks and so forth. It's a very useful size, whether you're just carrying your gear from the car to a viewing position a few yard away (there are two sewn in carrying handles) or you'll be packing in in some distance. There's a clever system for attaching a tripod, though I'm not sure it's up to the weight of the solid tripods I like to use for spotting scopes. I'd stick with carbon fiber tripods or short, lightweight tripods to avoid overloading the pack or making it clumsy to carry. Without a load-carrying and stabilizing hip belt you want to be careful how much weight to try to carry in it.

One of the nicest features of many Lowepro packs is the pull-out rain cover, and it's found on this pack. Reach underneath, pull open the velcro-sealed compartment, and out pops a flyweight cover. A nice features when you're carrying several thousand dollars worth of optics and electronics. The outer fabric is of a medium weight, and seems reasonably abrasion resistant. There's enough padding in the pack that I plan to use it to store my Vanguard spotting scope when I'm not carrying it afield. It fits me comfortably, too (I'm 6'2") and there's enough adjustability in the straps that it should work fine for someone around 5' as well.

It's not just for spotting scopes, though that's the ideal use. You could also use this for carrying a DSLR with a long zoom lens, or even a small astronomical telescope , like a Televue 60mm scope or the classic Orion Short Scope. If it had thicker padding and the exterior was made of a tougher, more abrasion resistant nylon, I'd give it the full five stars. Even so, it's a nice package with expected Lowepro quality, and a good value for your money.

Honest reviews on Lowepro LP36359 Scope Travel 200 AW Travel and Field Photo/Optics

Got this pack to carry my binoculars, scope, tripod, and accessories on birding trips. Great protection for the optics inside the pack, and my tripod can be securely fastened to the outside of the pack. I am completely satisfied!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is as smart and well-made as they come. Not cheap, but worth every penny if you want or need a realiable, well-designed pack. A quick-grab pocket on the side is designed for a water bottle, but I can shove my field guide into it, which is a big plus. I like to identify species on the spot and don't want to unzip the bag every time I see something I can't identify. Everything I need fits nicely into this bag, and because the padded, velcro compartments are easily removed, you can use this backpack for almost anything, including a personal carry-on bag for flights. Living in the Pacific Northwest, I'm glad it comes with a self-contained all-weather cover that can be deployed in seconds.

Honest reviews on Sony LCSTHK/B Soft Carrying Case for the DSC-T70 and DSC-T200

The case is very good at preventing damage in tough environments. I have had it with my camera for over a year and a half and haven't had so much as a scratch on my camera.

I use it primarly for field work, so the fact it is a little bulky isn't a problem. I don't use it when I am going out and am dressed up. I would suggest this for when you need something that can allow your camera to be thrown into a laptop bag, dropped down some stairs, or other difficult environment. It is not really for putting in your pocket on a Friday night.

The strap(s) are basically useless too, the standard straps on most of the cameras themselves are far more useful.
