This camera case is well-worth the price I paid. My 5yr old Kodak fits snuggley and securely in the shaped, strongly-zippered, heavy-vinyl holster. A durable, inside zippered-net pocket allows visibility of it's contents and readily stretches to fit an extra two batteries and a car charger. The case also has slightly larger outside netted-pocket with a Velcro closure, adequate to contain a lens cleaning cloth and two or three lens filters. Don't expect to be able to include additional lenses; they just won't fit.

I love the Billingham Hadley Pro bag so much, that I recently bought a second one from Martin Billingham's youngest son during the recent Photo Plus East show here in New York City (I might add that Mr. Billingham is a fine marketing representative for his father and firm and hope to see him again at a future Photo Plus East show.). This particular version of the venerable Billingham Hadley has ample room to hold two rangefinder cameras with lenses attached, plus anywhere from two to four other lenses separately, depending on their overall sizes. There's also several large side pockets for important accessories like a small hand-held light meter, filters and film. I also like alot the handle at the top of this bag, which makes me feel like I'm carrying a valise, rather than a camera bag stuffed with delicate optical jewels like my Leica M rangefinder cameras and lenses. Users of digital SLR equipment may find this bag suitable for a camera and one or two small lenses (wide angle to short telephoto zoom lens or a couple of wide angle and normal prime lenses). Billingham bags are extremely well made and are designed to take a lot of physical abuse. They may be expensive, but they will protect well your photo equipment for years to come.

I ordered the Billingham Hadley Pro camera bag as I felt the small Hadley might be slightly too small for what I wanted to carry. I guess I was right as the Pro has worked out just right and was able to carry just what I wanted it to. I have arranged it so I carry a Pentax K7 with 35mm limited in the center area with the 77mm limited and 43mm limited on one side vertical compartment separated by a padded flap door. On the other side I have the 15 mm limited and the 55 to 300mm zoom in another vertical compartment also separated by a padded flap door. The carrying handle is a great feature as I seldom use the shoulder strap and keep it tucked inside. If I could make one improvement I'd make the shoulder strap detachable. This is the nicest camera bag I've ever had and I've had many--construction, materials and workmanship are superb.

I prefer using slim messenger style bags for my gear so I figured the Hadley Pro was right up my alley. Indeed, most of the raves from fellow reviewers are not mere fanboy banter: this bag actually is attractive, extremely well constructed and durable. In terms of appearance, it looks like a cross between a vintage school book bag (circa 1940) and an Old World gentleman's fishing bag. It's a classic yet unassuming look.

This is not a bag for a gear hound. Instead, it is ideal for a small kit for street wandering. It is relatively light and its slim profile makes it easy to cut through crowds. It ships with a well padded insert configured with two tall dividers. The cloth is very soft and will not "sand" your gear. The two large dividers create three compartments and have room for a small to medium DSLR and a couple lenses and/or flash. Two smaller divider are included to subdivide a compartment or use as padding between stacked lenses. My EOS 5D MK II with EF 24-105 4L IS USM attached fits perfectly in the center with lens pointing down, albeit with a bit of a "baby bulge." A gripped or pro DSLR will not fit. There's room in the side compartments for my 70-200 4L IS USM (no tripod ring or hood) and a couple small primes or flash. Most of the time I only carry the 5D2 and 24-105 and flash, leaving a compartment to stuff with windbreaker, flask 'o Jack Daniels or whatever. Although there isn't an official slot for a MacBook Air or iPad, my iPad 2 fits perfectly between the insert and bag wall.

The strap is sewn directly to the bag, so you can't easily replace or upgrade to a wider strap. The strap is narrow--1.5 inches--so a loaded bag cuts your shoulder like a knife, not to mention being a bit slippery. The one glaring omission is the lack of a shoulder pad. For $260 Billingham should toss one in. So I had to spend another $35 for the SP15 shoulder pad. It's grippy, reasonably padded and the increased width distributes the load across the shoulder better.

All in all this is an excellent bag for a small DSLR kit or Micro 4/3 system. Its understated style looks great with just about anything but doesn't really catch the eye unless you look closely. My brightly colored Timbuk2 messenger gets way more remarks than the Hadley. The thin strap makes the Hadley less than desireable for heavy loads. Be sure to budget another $35 for the Billingham SP15 Leather Shoulder Pad 1.5" Wide, Black.

Wonderful bag. Impeccable workmanship & design. This bag can be many things; full-on camera bag, mixed contents travel bag, or business brief case (big iPad fits perfectly, as would a small laptop). Delightfully as a camera bag, it does not scream "camera bag" ; a low-key way to carry your gear. I'm using mine with my Lumix 4/3 system(GH3, GX1 & 4 lenses) with room for one more lens. Expensive, but undoubtedly will last forever and get better with age. Shoulder pad nice addition.

TL;DR sturdy & spacious.

I bought this (like many others) for my Fuji Instax MINI 7s-it fits like a charm with room to spare. There is a netted divider going through the middle (separating the two sides that open, like a clam), so there is room enough on the other side of the net for extra film and whatnot.

I was really just looking for something to keep my camera in so that it doesn't get scratched up while in storage or travel bag, and this case does the trick.

The outside is smooth, but the case is hard and sturdy. The shoulder strap that comes with it is very thin, and I've never actually put it to use-I don't find a need for it, but if I did just want to carry my camera around, I'd probably find a more suitable strap.

Very disappointed with the case. The item description stated "Separate film and camera compartments", which is very misleading. The only separation is a peice of thin netting which would be fine except that the way the case itself is designed, the extra film/batteries i'd hoped to be able to fit in the case will fall out when you unzip the case enough to take the camera out. I would never have ordered had i known. I found more suitable all-purpose camera cases in WalMart (and the camera itself is cheaper at WalMart and comes with film!).

I just received this bag as a gift. It's perfect. I own a Canon AE1, a standard 50mm, a 25-80mm, and a 75-300mm (lenses). This bag fits it all EASILY, including rolls of film, cleaning materials, my wallet, cellphone, keys, and other such items. Also, I feel like it definitely keeps my equipment safe from the elements and packed neatly in a padded enclosure. Plus, it's very convenient to have a backpack (I used an over-the-shoulder strap bag before, which always got in the way) The backpack stays out of my way so I can concentrate on the picture I'm taking. Tamrac has designed a small/medium bag for single camera body carrying that I have found very convient. Over the year plus I've used the bag I like it VERY MUCH.

This is not my primary camera bag simply because I cannot fit everything I might need for a professional photoshoot. For this I use a $200+monster bag and a cart to wheel it around. One backpack bag will not fit all needs.

Here's what I like about this Photo backpack:

1. Great Value for the money

2. Comfortable when under full load

3. Adjustable shoulder and chest straps

4. My vacation configuration: Canon dSLR Rebel w/kit lens, BGE-1 battery grip/w2 canon batteries, a 70-300mm telephoto, 420EX speedlight, bounce flash portrait diffuser, camera battery charger, 4AA Ni-Mh ( for speedlight and Powershot A75 or A-85 + AA battery charger, a mini-tripod, Canon Powershot A85 backup camera, printer cable, extra Compact Flash cards, 8 in 1 flash memory reader, camera/speedlight instruction manuals, 58mm lens filter sets, and lens cleaner kits.

5. Plastic coated overflap makes the bag somewhat weather resistant (except for side pockets). (IMHO) This is NOT a weatherproof bag, and do not attempt to use it as such.

6. Adjustable internal padding allows for many different configurations.

7. My Homeland Security airport checkpoint bag of choice. Throw it on the X-ray belt easy to open if necessary.

8. Carry handle between shoulder straps is a convenient feature.

9. Cargo net pockets allow handy storage of manuals.

Things this bag will not do no matter how much you wish it would:

1. It's NOT a two camera-body photo bag (unless you want to leave speedlight or telephto or a whole bunch of stuff at home).

2. It's not an ideal shooting event bag because of back flap and and zippered main compartment it must come off your back and on the ground or table to take out what you need easily. This is a two hands and a firm surface to change your stuff bag. You'll still need a fanny pack or belt bag for quick changes of lens.

3. I can't use it as an all weather bag. I wish entire backpack were made of more water-resistant materials and designed to be more equipment protective.

For limited photoshoots; vacations or a casual backpack bag to carry a limited load of camera equipment the Adventure 8 is a GREAT purchase. It's convenient as a carrier bag for modest amounts of equipment. Perfect size allows me NOT to tempt fate by carrying backbreaking loads. Paired up with my roller laptop computer bag and backpack I'm only looking like a minor uber-geek road warrior when on vacation.

I recently purchased this very sleek backpack and it holds all of my equipment perfectly. It has so many compartments for storage that I couldn't find enough stuff to put in it. My only problem is that it can sometimes be uncomfortable to wear because it is smaller than a normal backpack. The hip strap is more like a chest strap. If you are an adult than you might not like how it looks or how it feels. I love this pack but it could be more comfortable. I suggest going to you camera store and try it out before you buy it.

I went to France last summer and was searching for something that would fit my needs: hold 3 cameras, maps, 20+ rolls of film, etc.

Without a doubt this backpack made the trip a joy. I was able to carry a Nikon CP990, an SLR with an extra lens, a Lomo LC-A, all my filters, film, maps, a bottle of water, keys, passports, etc. It all fit it. And while the backpack may have felt heavy to lift, on my back it didn't cause any difficulty wearing it for extended periods of time.

I love it, it feels great on my back and can carry more things than I need to.

I now use it at home to carry all my stuff around. The rebuildable compartments are perfect. The greatest thing is that it just looks like a regular backpack.

Tamrac's Adventure 8 backpack is well suited for all sorts of day trips. The bag has a padded compartment for camera equipment, a main compartment suitable for holding a variety of goodies, and an assortment of smaller nooks and compartments for holding the rest of your gear.

The Tamrac website boasts that the padded compartment has the capability to hold a camera body, 3 lenses of varying size, and a flash. While this is essentially true (assuming one of your lenses is attached to your camera body), squeezing that much gear would be a tight fit. I generally

carry a camera body, a table-top tripod, and either 2 extra lenses or a lens and the flash.

The bag is small in size but large enough to handle a day's worth of gear and goodies. And because it looks like a backpack, the bag passes through certain security checks where traditional camera bags may be red flagged.

i really needed this bag for Niagara fall trip.

after my first trip there, i realized that my camera will need some super water protection.

because in Niagara falls, you definitely get soaked there so billingham bag was my first choice.

i tried all over in NYC for black Billingham Hadley pro large, but they were all sold out. you name any store and it was sold out.

only one place had it with khaki color. i didn't have any choice but to buy this. i also bought some lens and UV filters at the same local store, so i figured, i would test how comfort this bag is by putting all my stuff in this bag. Like Billingham mentioned, you can use it as casual bag or camera bag. i will be damned. it was so comfortable. those buckle style to pop open was hard to get use to but it was such a breeze later on.

The day at Niagara falls with this bag was awesome. It was so stylish that no one realized that it was a camera bag. you started to give other people with those ugly bag a funny look. In my bag i had Canon 60D with 17-40mm L lens with Tulip lens cap and 15-135mm Stock lens on side. and small tripod on the side. it was little heavy to carry around but it was sure comfy to carry that around and walk around with it.

The day of the doom, at Niagara falls, because of fall, the water flies around you while taking pictures. the BAG is super waterproof. the water just slide down the bag. keeping everything safe inside. Oh boy i was so thrilled. i just let the bag get all the water. it wouldn't get soaked like any other bag. HAHA. screw you other ppl with ugly and non-water proof bag trying to hid their camera.

well even after my trip, i took out the casing and moved it to my coach shoulder bag and it fits perfectly. i still use the bag time to time, only thing i don't like about it is that it's stylish alright, but it kinda bulge out when you wear it on your shoulder. since my bag is heavy, little sore pain to my shoulder too. maybe those billingham shoulder strap might help.

Anyway for those "Stylish photographers" i really recommend that you buy this bag. stop wearing those ugly looking bag. it just looks hideous. Pimp out your photography journal with high quality British bag!

I'm very particular about carrying cases, because I have lost valuable cameras & cellphones due to cheap products. This camera bag is exactly what anyone could ever want. Everything is secure. Those little cameras are grea, but they're real easy to damage. This hard-shelled case protects them, and it's cheap. Get one and save yourself the cost of the camera. Only gets four stars since it doesn't come filled with federal reserve notes.

Bought this because I didn't want to carry my full-size camera bag on a recent trip to Hawaii. The Tamrac Velocity 7X sling pack worked beautifully. I have Nikon D90 and I brought along a 55-200mm kit lens and a 35mm prime lens, as well as charger/spare battery/cable, two filters, and a lens hood. Everything fit easily, and I could have brought more stuff if I wanted to, although another lens would have been challenging.

Pros: portable, reasonably comfortable, and easy to access your camera without taking it off. It was soooo much more comfortable than my full photo backpack, and the fact that I didn't have to take it off to get my camera was a huge plus. It also fit into my regular non-photo backpack nicely, though tightly, for airplane carry-on, with some room in my backpack for other stuff. Interior has three configurable regions (with moveable vinyl & velcro rectangles); it's awkward to reconfigure but versatile. You could in theory take all the rectangles out and just have a big open space, if you wanted. I stored my spare lens in one section, camera with lens in the middle overlapping the third region where I hid my charger/spare battery/power cable. It also has a small zippered region in the top flap which I stored filters in. The front pocket had limited space (I put my memory card, small lens hood, and sometimes my cell phone there). Once I got the strap the right length, it was very easy to swing it from back to front (to access camera) and then to back again. It also has a hidden waist strap to keep it from bouncing as you walk, though I didn't really need that much.

Cons: As other reviewers have noted, it doesn't balance well on its own on the ground, making loading it up slightly more awkward than necessary. I generally loaded and unloaded it while wearing it. Some females may find the chest strap uncomfortable because of where it rests (my wife didn't like it). The top zipper can be a little tough to open and close; this was mainly just an annoyance. I found it was not super water-proof (fine for light drizzles; not so great for downpours). Size limitations (obviously); though that's sort of the point If you want more space, use a bigger pack :) Very large diameter or very long lenses may not fit well; the ones I took were 52mm; I have a wide-angle lens that I didn't bring but tested out in the pack. It was a much tighter fit.

In summary, this pack won't carry all your gear, but it will carry some of your gear very well and very comfortably. Recommended.

I am new to dSLRs and bought this for my first camera, a Nikon D5100. I have the kit lens (18-55mm) and one additional lens (55-300mm). Both lenses fit in this bag plus the camera with a whole extra space on one side. I dont have a whole lot of other gear. The zippers and snaps are a little difficult to open, but I think I will adjust to them. I like how lightweight this bag feels with all my gear in it and I feel like everything is protected fairly well. I would reccommend this product to others.

I really like that the camera and my biggest lens are in shooting position when I pull it out of the bag!

I read about a lot of bags before I chose this one. I took the dimensions of my camera and took into consdieration the bulkiness of other bags. I also wanted something that could be completely zipped shut so I wouldn't have to worry about gear falling out the top/sides when I set this bag down. I think this bag wears really well so I won't have sore shoulders on longer outings. I also love that it doesn't scream expensive camera bag.

I use a full frame camera, namely the Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II, and before buying this bag I tried to read in Tamrac website to see if it supports full frame cameras or not but I didn't find anything about this point. When the bag reached me I discovered that it was not designed for full frame cameras. The only way I was able to use it was by removing all the separators inside it, but this resulted in 2 problems: (1) the camera with a lens attached to it (EF 28-70mm f/2.8) used almost all the bag space which means no more space to put anything else in the bag like another lens or a flash, (2) the camera stuck a little inside that made it not easy to remove from the bag which was a little against the idea of velocity that the bag was designed for.

To be fair with the quality, the bag takes 5 stars in quality as all Tamrac bags are very well made (I own other Tamrac bags as well). But since I wanted it for my full frame camera I rated it 3 stars. They should have mentioned that boldly so one knows before buying it.

To accommodate my self, since on hiking I usually keep my camera on my neck I am planning to use the bag for lenses and filters which in that case makes it easy for me to change the lenses or filters in a velocity way especially if I am alone. In other words I am not very sad that I bought it but I would have been much happier if it was designed for full frame as well.

Finally, for sure I will buy more Tamrac bags in the future because they are really well made and heavy duty.

This is what I was looking for: a bag that can carry my essentials when I'm out and about. It's durable, protective, comfortable to carry when I'm on a long walking excursion, and the sling design and top opening provides easy in-and-out access to my camera (a Nikon D7000 with a big 18-300 zoom lens). It's also easy to sling the pack towards my back when I'm wearing the camera outside of the case, so it doesn't interfere with walking around or taking pictures. I can carry the camera with lens and filters attached, a smaller point and shoot digital camera, chargers for both, cleaning accessories, and a spare battery. If I don't take the smaller camera, I can take the flash unit for the Nikon instead. No room for extra lenses or other gadgets, so this probably isn't the case for storing all your gear, but as a carry around it does the job well. As I recall, it comes in several sizes; this was the one I needed because of the big lens. Other sizes might be more suitable for other needs, so I would recommend actually trying several sizes with the equipment you want to carry before deciding which one to buy.

I got this bag for my new X920 camcorder, it fits perfectly with Wasabi VW-VBN260 (the bigger one). I put on UV filter and lens hood, it still fits nicely. I put three SD cards and two extra batteries, there is still space for little things (not Wasabi charger though). I used for family vacation early this month, it was very comfortable on the shoulder, easy to take out / put in the camcorder. I purchased this bag specifically for my Canon VIXIA HF G10 Full HD Camcorder. The camera and accessories (including extra battery and cables) fit nicely without being overly stuffed. The shoulder strap is comfortable, but I prefer to use the carry handle. Seems to be put together well and will probably help protect the camera if I ever drop it (knock on wood).

I just received this case. It fits my Sony NEX-7 like a glove. The quality of the leather is exceptional. I also like the color (camel/brown as opposed to the traditional black). It enhances both the appearance of the camera as well as the handling. It improves the users grip on the camera and provides some measure of protection aginst bumps and knocks to the camera body. Not intended however to be a substitute for a sturdy camera bag/case. Includes a nice leather handstrap if you don't want to use a neck strap instead. I think it is a very nice compliment to a very handsome high-end camera.

Got this a few days ago, and it was surprisingly well made. It fits the Pentax Q with 02 zoom snugly, and the nice stiff, thick lined leather seems like it would protect the camera quite well. I don't have any of the other zooms to see if they fit, but I'd imagine the 06 and 01 would fit without too much trouble. It didn't have a bad smell.

However, a couple of issues. The first point is that the 1/4" tripod mount screw is quite tight and is difficult to properly tighten down. The second, a major point, is that the sides of the case completely block the battery and SD card doors; you need to undo the (tight and difficult) tripod screw to get at them.

So, as long as you don't need to change the battery or replace the card it's a fine case..... but for the average user (who will run through at least one SD card or one battery a day) it's going to be awfully frustrating.

Fits great, and looks sharp. Easy to snap on/off, and doesn't present any real stumbling blocks.

I like it better than zippered cases. They might be better in some ways as protection, but this has a nostalgic look to it, and as I grew up in a 35mm world, I like it. Wish I could find some similar cases for my K5, and canon sx 40hs.

I use the strap that came with the camera though, didn't really care much for the strap included with the case, but that is just my take on it, others can do their thing.

I purchased this camera bag for my Canon Power Shot Pro1 over 3 years ago. I holds the camera, 3 extra pro batteries, Flash cards, small tri pod etc and room for a miniature folding umbrella 2. A boat load of zippered pockets all over. Its is well used but still like new. I have never seen one that better serves my purpose.
