This case looks great, as it should for the price, but when slung over my shoulder I find it difficult to access. Would be better if the shoulder strap had a detachable clip.

Pros:

Stylish, sturdy, great--quality wise--, love the color, and lots of space in second zipper compartment--I put extra memory cards, batteries, and my little Canon S100 here.

Cons:

This is a basic amateur photographer bag, best suited for a camera with no battery grip and a standard lens, otherwise, fixed lenses with a barrel length not greater than three inches or so. I tried to put in my Nikon D700 with a battery grip and a Nikkor 24-70mm F/2.8 mounted. That wasn't going to happen. The bag will however hold a Nikon D90 with an 85mm F/1.8 mounted, but with no lens hood. The bag also shows that it has a separater in the main compartment, for the camera body and a lens on the side. Technically speaking, the lens is too round to make that possible. I pulled out the compartment separator because it was just taking up space.

The other two issues are that (1) the zipper for the main camera compartment doesn't open all the way, so you have to pull it firm in order to open it to a 90 degree angle and that (2) the bag strap is not detachable, so you can't wash it after running around in the rain or after a sweaty hiking trip.

For the two aforementioned issues, I give the bag three stars. However, because I love the color, the thickness of the camera bag strap, and the design, I give it an additional star. If Incase fixes the two issues, this would easily be a five-star bag.

I bought this case to carry around my Canon T3i and it is a very well-designed and quality case. I scoured the internet to find the best camera case I possibly could, and I am certain that this is it. The top compartment with organizational pockets is large enough to neatly store extra batteries, memory cards, a lens filter (with case), a lens cleaner pen, and an extra lens cap with room to spare.

The bottom portion of the case has plenty of room for my camera and strap and is soft and lightly padded, however I removed the divider as it wasn't really needed for the way I store my camera (which is lens attached with it facing down). If you are looking for a great and attractive case to protect your camera investment and that's big enough to carry around all your small accessories in, I would look no further than this excellent case.

I stumbled across this bag here on Amazon. Out of curiosity, I headed over to the Tamrac site to check out the specs. The Aria bags are new this year. I originally looked at the Aria 3 bag because of its size and it just looks very fashionable. I knew functionality would override being fashionable.

I found the Aria bags at my local camera shop. They had both models/sizes (3 and 6) and in all three colors. The bag comes in brown, moss, and black. I had a hard time deciding which color I wanted. They are all beautiful colors.

Though the Aria 3 is quite cute, it wouldn't fit the camera and accessories I would carry with me. I ended up with the Aria 6 in black. If I could afford it, I would have had all three colors. That's how beautiful they are.

The bag is made of a lightweight material (smooth nylon) and appears to be water-resistant. The interior has a silvery lining which makes it easy to find things inside the bag. Overall, the bag is the lightest I've seen. The interior foam padded divider flexes a bit. I assume it helps to keep the weight of the bag on the light side. It may not be a big issue.

The front flap attaches to the bag with the front buckle. Under the flap are two zippered pockets. In the front is a zippered pleated pocket to hold camera accessories: cables, batteries, media cards. It's just a simple pocket.

In the second zippered area under the flap is the main camera compartment. I can place my Nikon D7000 DSLR with 18-200mm lens attached. I also have space on either side of the camera for a fixed lens and my speed light. The interior padded dividers can be rearranged and attached to wide velcro strips that run along the interior front and interior back of the bag.

Also inside the main bag compartment are two other pockets. There's an internal zippered pocket in the front of the bag. That was a nice surprise. There's an internal padded pocket at the back of the bag that can hold an iPad.

On the outside of the bag are two side pockets. This is one of the best features of this bag. I can place my iPhone in either of the pockets.

The strap on the bag is adjustable. I can wear the bag on my shoulder as a side bag or wear it across my body like a messenger bag. There's also a sliding shoulder pad that's not too bulky.

I don't think I would carry my iPad in this bag. The iPad by itself can be quite heavy. Having the option and space to carry one in the bag is a plus.

I'm the type of person who has to see the bag in person before buying. I've taken a few pictures for those of you who might have an interest in this bag. I've uploaded a couple of pictures of the bag in the gallery.

Overall, this bag is quite functional and very lightweight because of the lightweight material its made of. I like that it's not too bulky and not too slim. It's very stylish and doesn't scream "camera bag". I recommend this bag for those of you who just want to take a camera and a few camera accessories with you.

This bag holds my Nikon D7000 DSLR with 18-200mm lens attached along with my SB-700 speed light, and my extra 85mm f1.8 lens. The padded velcro dividers are a bit too light and flexes under the weight of my camera. It may or may not be a minor problem for others. I plan on "borrowing" a set of firmer dividers from my other Tamrac bag. This should resolve the minor issue.

Even though I purchased this bag to be used across my body like a messenger bag, I've been using this bag as a shoulder bag and find that it's quite comfortable. I haven't had any problems with the strap sliding off my shoulder. Overall, the bag feels well balanced.

I like the simple plain pockets on this bag. It's roomy and I'm not constrained to what I can put in them. It holds a lot of accessories: extra battery, extra media cards, key ring full of keys, wallet, business cards, lip gloss, granola bar, lens cap, filters, papers, etc.

I really like the side pockets where I can easily access my iPhone and/or iPod.

** Update 11/10/12 **

I recently purchased the Nikon D600 full frame DSLR. This camera fits perfectly in this bag.

I also purchased the smaller Aria 3 bag. I removed the padded divider and can place my D600 with 24-85mm lens on its side in the bag. I can also place my iPhone in the external side pocket. The Aria 3 is a cute small bag. Compact. A nice bag if you're only taking the D600 and kit lens.

I've had a slightly more square bag Tamrac bag for years, but it vanished in some checked luggage recently (fortunately not with the equipment inside). I decided to try a thinner and longer bag, and this one sounded just about right. I wasn't sure if I could fit all my equipment inside, but I got a Nikon D80, 80-200 2.8 zoom, 50 1.4 lens, fairly large Nikon speedlight, and shorter zoom inside with room to spare. This is MUCH easier to carry around than the old bag was!

Well, to start of the camera barely fits and absolutely does not fit with the strap on.

The front pocket is so small, you cannot fit a spare battery in it.

You could fit a memory card, which of course, is useless if you don't have the juice to run the camera.

Although I opened the package and quickly determined this was not the case for me, I'm fairly certain that the zipper will fail sooner than later.

The W90 is a rugged camera, but I still expected more padding for the bag itself.

Overall, a terrible product, I am certain I will find something better at Wal-Mart for about 10 bucks.

My criteria for bags is non-negotiable, and finding a bag that fits this criteria took a long time. First, it has to be top loading. Second, it needs to have at least one side pocket, and one front pocket. Third, a bright interior is a huge plus. Fourth, it needs to be reasonably weather-proofed. Finally, it needs to be well-padded.

I was pleasantly surprised when I found this bag online after hours of searching. I had spent several more hours at camera shops around the city, and the prices they were asking, for bags that did not meet all of my criteria, was not justifiable for me. So, I thought taking a chance on the Ape Case was a measured risk. I'm probably not the only one who has had that experience. Frankly, I looked at the price of this case and wondered why they were charging so little when all other bags were double the price. But, I ordered anyway.

I ordered the medium instead of the large, as the internal dimensions are identical in length and width. The medium bag is about one inch shorter in height. Ultimately, internal dimensions are the most important to me, and I didn't think that missing one inch of height would be a big deal. So, I went with the medium. (Sidenote: If the internal dimensions of the large are really almost exactly the same, as all the websites I found suggested, the large bag can certainly not be considered large.)

Now for the bag itself. The side pocket is a little "tight." It has spots for extra memory cards, and several elastic loops for pens, etc. But, this side pocket can't really be stuffed full. Over time the material may relax to give more flexibility. The front pocket is the same, so don't buy this bag expecting to be able to jam those pockets full of goodies.

One of my favorite features is the zip pocket on the front flap, just above where the Ape Case logo is sewn on. That is ideal when traveling for putting flight tickets and passports in. On that note, the first week I got this bag I got caught in monsoon-type weather. Despite having an umbrella, my bag got soaked as I walked. Inside my bag was my camera, lens, battery, and my passport. Once I was inside the train station I opened up my case to assess the damage. But, there wasn't any. Not a single drop had gotten through, and the bag had been exposed to more than a reasonable amount of rain.

The following week I was on the street, and dropped my fully loaded bag onto the concrete. Again, I sat down and opened up the case to assess the damage. Again, there wasn't any. Everything was exactly where I had put it when I packed for that day.

The interior is obviously bright yellow, and it makes opening the bag a joy in itself.

The only thing I changed on the bag was with the clasps that hang off each side of the bag. In total, there are three. One clasp closes the front flap. Then, there are two more, one on the left and one on the right, used to keep the bag more tightly shut, I guess. I cut off the two on the sides of the bag off. I'll never use them, they're clunky, and they make it needlessly difficult to get into the bag. Also, the clasps are made of very light weight plastic. I'm not sure how long the remaining clasp will last. But, I assume it serves a dual purpose: it cuts weight and cost.

Overall, this bag meets and exceeds my criteria for a camera case. Don't let the price deter you. It might be half the price of a lot of other camera bags, but it is not half the camera bag. In the few short weeks I've had it, it's been put through more than it's fair share of abuse, and has performed better than I would have ever expected. Ultimately, this bag gives me what I most expect from a bag: security. I can put my camera and travel documents inside, and know that they are safe and sound.

Just got done configuring this case, I'm already in love. Plenty of space, I have all my cords, guides, storage, power, filters, 3 lenses (2 long), camera, covers, cleaning, and a monopod on here and still have room for a flash and battery grip (my next upgrades). Tough shell, nice padding, indiscriminate look. Especially appreciate the metal hooks for the shoulder strap. Glad I didn't get the small version, but I won't need anything bigger for a long time. Highly recommended.

As others have noted the yellow interior really is a help.

The only thing I would change is that the 3 latches for the top are a little loose, so if you don't zip the bag when you are wanting easy access, when you lift it by the top handle, it always feels insecure. It really isn't (3 latches work fine with a good overlap top to side for protection), but I wish it didn't scare me everytime I lift it.

When I first saw the name "Ape Case" on this camera bag, I didn't think much of it, except, "what a goofy name". So, just out of curiosity, I clicked on the product link, on Adorama, actually, and just had to take a look.

I really liked the bright yellow interior, and the reviews were overwhelmingly positive. And the price was right in the neighborhood to fit my budget.

I finally narrowed my choices down to the Ape Case, but didn't know which one, the Medium, or the Large bag. I decided to go with the Medium, as it was a bit cheaper, and figured if I didn't think it was big enough, I'd send it back and go with the Large. Well, it turns out that my Canon T2i wearing a battery grip with 18-55mm kit lens, 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS zoom, Speedlite 430, battery charger and cord, camera and lens owners manuals, Lens Pen, video and USB cables, lens caps, set of filters, timer remote, and probably a few other things all live in the Medium size bag, still with room to spare... I think I could still get at least 2 more lenses in there comfortably... room to grow! The only difference between the Medium and the Large, is that the Large is about an inch or so deeper, the length and width measurements are the same. If you have a full frame Pro body like an EOS 1D or similar, or some longer zooms, you might want the Large bag, for the extra depth.

One thing I am having a bit of a dilemma with, though, is creating the optimum arrangement in the main compartment. As the bag comes, everything fits perfectly in the compartments as they are arranged, as long as I have the 18-55mm lens on the body... but the 55-250mm zoom will not fit when installed on the body. So, I removed one of the dividers (they are held in place by velcro) and rearranged the remaining dividers to make room for the body and tele zoom installed. But now, that left me with 2 less "compartments", but actually more "room". All the dividers are removeable, so you can customize this bag to your needs. You just have to decide exactly what your needs are, and how to arrange your bag.

The divider that is made for the body and installed lens actually elevates the body/lens up off the bottom of the bag, making a "secret compartment" under it where you can store seldom used parts like the body cap or ???.

The bag has excellent construction, and good thick (feels like a closed cell foam) padding. Unless the bag gets run over by a truck, or sat on by an elephant, everything inside will be well protected. I've not had it in the rain yet, but I think it would take quite a downpour for any water to make it's way inside. The bag top is held shut by a double zipper, and then secured with a plastic snap clasp on both sides and in the center also. If you hide both zipper handles under the front flap, then secure all the snap clasps, it would be quite difficult for anyone in a crowd to get their hand inside the bag without you knowing about it... it's good and secure. But, that same security also means that it does take a bit of doing to get inside yourself, also. If you need quick access, you could leave the zippers open, and just secure the front clasp, but sacrifice some of the security.

The shoulder strap has a rubberized pad on it, and it stays on my shoulder fairly well. It gets the job done.

There are zippered pockets on the top cover and flap, inside and out, on the right side of the bag outside, and the front of the bag outside. The left side of the bag outside has a mesh pocket secured with a drawstring and keeper ball. I haven't figured out yet what to keep in there, I wish it was another zippered pocket instead, to be honest. I guess it would be good to carry an 8-pack of AA batteries for the Speedlite.

In all, I'm pretty satisfied with the Ape Case Medium bag. Excellent protection for everything inside, the bright yellow interior makes it easy to see dark colored items like lens caps and lens pens, and it has enough room inside of all my stuff and then some.

I like this bag, but I wish the external walls were stiffer. The interior is spacious enough for my Nikon D300 w/18-200 lens and with the MB-D10 battery attachment with room leftover for the detached flash unit and some other minor accessories. If the 18-200 lens were detached from the body, I could have squeezed another lens in the bag. That makes it a little too heavy for my taste. Besides, I like the 70-200 lens attached for that quick candid shot or the fleeting deer on the side of the road. The bright yellow interior of the case is a definite plus when looking for those small black camera things hiding on the bottom. The Velcro lined segments are very versatile if you want to customize the interior. Personally, I don't have the patience for it. It's a good bag. You shouldn't be disappointed with it. Joe

I looked high and low for a bag for my new Olympus XZ-1, that would also accommodate the VF-2 Viewfinder. I looked and researched so many camera bags for my Nikon D5100 before finally choosing this one. I'm a newbie to SLR photography, so I haven't had a ton of experience with camera bags. I am female though, so I've had a ton of experience shopping for handbags. That sort of counts, right?

A BAG TO GROW INTO: At any rate, I wanted my first bag to be fairly "comprehensive." I wanted it to be big enough to fit my current gear (Nikon D5100 with the kit lens and Nikon 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S DX) AND future gear (Nikon SB-700 AF Speedlight Flash and Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX Lens.) So I wanted a bag that would carry the camera, 3 lenses and a flash plus all the other accessories like spare batteries, etc.

POUCHES!!: There are two memory card pouches on the interior of the lid as well as a larger zippered compartment where you could store flat things like lens caps. There's also a front zippered pouch (bottom half) to stuff with other things like cleaning accessories, cables, etc. The front of this pouch will feel "poofy," because that's where the All Weather Cover is stored access that from another zipper along the bottom edge of the pouch. There is another front zippered compartment (top half on the flap) that would be suitable for less bulky items. The pouches on each side are also made of a somewhat stretchier mesh material with some elastic banding along the top to keep things from falling out. The zippered compartment on the back is really more suitable for papers or anything thin. Overall most of these pouches don't really expand a whole lot, so don't really expect to be stuffing anything super bulky in them. The side pouches will hold bottles of water though.

ZIPPERS & TOP COVER: I also wanted a bag that was secured with zippers (YKK), so that nothing falls out. I especially like how the top is designed with the flaps that hang over the top edge as well kind of like how the top of a shoe box fits over the bottom half. The design (along with the All Weather Cover) reduces the chances of water or debris entering the bag. There is also a plastic buckle that secures each half of the bag. Of course this does make it more time-consuming to get into the bag, but that was not a concern for me with this bag. ***I do wish the top cover opened the opposite way away from the body instead of toward. That would make it slightly easier to access the interior while wearing the bag, although you can just wear it with the front facing towards you.

QUALITY: The bag is sturdy nylon with strong stitching. Its not double-stitched all around but at the key points of weakness (top handle, side clips for the shoulder strap, etc.) The padding seems adequate. The interior divider padding is about 1/4" thick and the exterior padding is about 1/2" thick. The interior is also lined in a light grey that makes it easier to find things within the bag. The Velcro has a strong "stick" and there's enough of it for greater flexibility in configuring it. I wanted a quality bag, and I'm not disappointed. ***I do wish that the bottom of the bag had the water-proof EVA base like the Case Logic SLR bags have for extra protection.

COMFORT & CONVENIENCE: The bag is fairly boxy and bulky. This is definitely not a small bag, and I thought it might be a bit uncomfortable to wear, but its actually pretty comfortable even when loaded due to the nice wide strap (1.5") and shoulder pad with the non-slip backing. The shoulder strap extends up to 55" which gives about a 27.5" shoulder drop which is pretty substantial. If you prefer the top handle, its thick and cushy with a comfortably soft fabric on the underside. There's also a flap on the backside of the bag for sliding onto extended luggage handles for easier transport. Sweet!

OVERALL: I really love this bag. Its got a few features that might not make it super-easily accessible, but I wanted more of a "tanky and secure" nylon bag which could carry most of my gear comfortably. I didn't really buy this bag for "out-on-the-town-and-shooting" I bought the Lowepro Passport Sling Camera Bag-Mica for that. This bag though is great for when you want to bring more of your arsenal with you and keep said arsenal protected. I do really wish it had the EVA-clad base and the top flap opening away from the wearer, but we can always hope for the future. Sorry for the mini-novel, but I hope this helps some prospective buyer out there.

Before selecting this bag, I did several days of research of alternatives. This bag was a perfect match for my Olympus 500 DSLR, two lenses, flash attachment, spare batteries, and a number of accessories. The rain cover was a key decision-maker for the Lowe brand. Of special note is the number of external pouches to hold spare memory cards and flash batteries.

Great product! I Already had a Lowepro (top loader zoom), but with vertical grip my camera didn't fit anymore, at first the bag seems a little too compact, but actually works great.

I have a Canon 60D with 18-135 lens attached, facing lens down in the bag. Vertical grip attached too. The charger in there, a sun cap and a bunch of small accessories. There is still room for the flash and two lenses that will come at some point.

The two things I think are missing are a hard plastic bottom (it is probably fine, but doesn't make me entirely comfortable with my lens facing down), and even though there are plenty of inside dividers, I thing there are two sideway shapes missing, as well as Velcro on the side of a couple of the big ones.

The size of bag is just I want. I use it to put two cameras, one is Nikon D300+28-300mm zoom and another one is Nikon D800+16-35mm zoom. Both fit well. It can also be put into a regular back pac during travel.

It does a good job of protecting the Zen so I'll give it that and the quality of the stitching and finish couldn't be better. But, is this real leather? It seems more like high-quality "pleather". I'm not crazy about having to put it in upside down either. It just seems strange and you constantly open it upside down maybe I'll get used to it but it's not intuitive. If you put it in the other way, it's too tight and the buttons are all pressed so the device doesn't work. See the pictures I posted above.

I'll update this once I've had it a while longer. It's a little stiff which is good but once it breaks-in a little I think I'll like it even more. First impression this is overpriced should be more like $20 definitely. And, at least throw in some screen protectors for this price that's ridiculous. You have to buy protectors separately. On the plus side, you can do everything with the case on you have full access to all the buttons, inputs, etc. and even charging.

It was just a little stiff in the beginning and it was pressing the bottom two buttons all the time so it wouldn't work well and that's why I had to put it in upside down. But, now after it's stretched out, you can put it in the case either way. And, it's much preferable with the flap on top otherwise it can fall out a little too easily.

I still like the case in general and haven't found a better option. It's thin and yet does a superb job of protecting the device. With all my "toys" I do tend to prefer the leather cases (Palm, Treos, phones, etc). They tend to have a better feel when I'm holding them.

Odd the picture of this case has changed since I bought this and wrote the review if you look at my pictures it looks like an entirely difference case. This one has a 1-2" wrap around velcro strap to hold it closed. Mine has no strap the flap actually has a few millimeters of velcro along the edge and that's plenty to keep it closed.

After searching through a countless amount of cases here on Amazon I decided to go with Creative's own. Another review caused me to be a bit skeptical about how well it fit the player. Well, I can tell you that it fits perfectly (as I imagined a case made by the same company that made the device would). If you're looking at the pictures and thinking to yourself "I don't want to have to put my player in backwards", then I can assure you that there is absolutely no need to. It fits great right side up the way it is intended to. I've begun to speculate that the person who posted the pictures and wrote the review stating that you have to put it in upside down is using the case with the 60GB version of the player. This can be a bit confusing since nowhere on this page does it specify that this case is only for the 30GB version. However, if you look at the product on Creative's site, it does state "Custom fitted for ZEN Vision:M 30GB only". So if you have the 60GB version, I can't really tell you whether it fits or not (perhaps you can then use it upside down). If you need a great quality case for the 30GB Vision:M, however, then look no further.

Also note that it doesn't have a screen protector, but I find this preferable since having a protector built into a case will usually give you much more glare than having one on the unit itself (since one sewn into the case would have to be flexible). I suggest either keeping the plastic on the screen that came with the device, or just picking up a generic PDA screen protector and trimming it to size. This way, it stays flat and smooth on the device (causing little or no glare) as opposed to the ones built into a case which can be wavy and cause glare from many different angles. Plus, you can replace it without having to get a new case when it gets scratched up.

When i bought my zen i knew i wanted to get a case for it, so i bought this one, the factory creative one. It worked good for a few months, and then the velco stoped holding together. Besides that it was ok. If only Creative had made a case for the zen vision m like the did for the zen x-fi, which has a case with a magnets insted of velcro.

Used for about 6 months now.

Looks good, durable leather, appears to be made with decent quality and stitching.

I tend to remove the player from the case a lot, and found that over time, very very light scratches could be seen on the plastic front (I have a black color player). I have a screen protector on the LCD, so that has shown no damage, but the fine scratches on the player appear to be from the case itself (looks to be the stitching and edges on the inside of the case. I would almost fault the player itself, since I have felt the case, and there are no sharp edges, so if the player truly scratches with that little of abrasion I would question the plastic not the cover.

Otherwise, has protected the player well in my large bag, as it bounces around daily with a lot of other heavy items (water bottle, lunch, ect). Openings leave easy access to all buttons and cord openings. If you don't remove it from the case often I would recommend.

Cheap Genuine real COW leather case bag cover for SONY NEX7 NEX-7 Camera

I just received this case. It fits my Sony NEX-7 like a glove. The quality of the leather is exceptional. I also like the color (camel/brown as opposed to the traditional black). It enhances both the appearance of the camera as well as the handling. It improves the users grip on the camera and provides some measure of protection aginst bumps and knocks to the camera body. Not intended however to be a substitute for a sturdy camera bag/case. Includes a nice leather handstrap if you don't want to use a neck strap instead. I think it is a very nice compliment to a very handsome high-end camera.

The interior size is overstated. The depth in particular is certainly not more than 30mm. The useable length and width are also less because of the curved corners. With my ruler I would recommend this case only for a camera about 28x60x92mm or thereabouts. I'm disappointed that my camera does not fit because I really like this case and the turtle logo is adorable. I am returning it and continuing my search.

This is one of the best camera bag. Very strongly built and a comfortable Large backpack. More for folks who have a lot of accessories with your camera. The zipper is in the back of the bag, hence it is tough for it to be Zipper opened without your knowledge. It more looks like a backpack rather than a Camera bag. Less chances of it being robbed. It comfortably takes in a 15" laptop with a good padding as well. It becomes very heavy but surely very confident to take on the weight. Thank god it is not a sling bag kind with one back strap.

As to rooms for improvement,,

1. I wish the main compartment zipper carries a bigger hole so as to slide a lock to it. It will be helpful to lock it when traveling domestic and surely international. I carry $3,500 worth of equipments.

2. I wish it is dimensioned slightly differently so that it fits within the carry-on suitcase horizontally.

3. Wish there was a little better explanation of the 2 straps it provided in how to use it. I think it is there to tie up the tri or mono pods.

I also use the Lowepro 200AW, another very satisfied camera bag. Smaller bag for very limited accessories other than your camera and lenses. A completely different purpose bag. A grab and go bag for your camera.

This backpack is huge! Yes it has all the carrying capabilities you could want and more but at the cost of looking like an astronaut backpack. And I don't like how it opens the part that touches your back is where it opens from. It's very awkward with a laptop in it.

This backpack holds my camera kit and, in a pinch, an iPad or laptop (up to 15") as well. I keep a D7000, D600, and a bunch of lenses (but not big professional zooms), and a small tripod in it with no issues, and it's comfortable to carry. The zipper to open it is against your back which means you can't easily be robbed, but a snap gives you access to the top compartment quite easily and you can pull out a camera from that compartment in 10s. There's no attached waterproof cover — it's not really for hiking (although I've taken it on hikes).

The one downside of the quick access compartment is that it doesn't easily let you pull out a higher-end DSLR like the D7000 (it's perfect for a D5000, but the D7000 always seems to catch). I currently carry a D7000 and a D600 so the quick access flap is more of a slow access flap. Note that it's not the lens that's the problem — it's the body, so the new Nikon Df would probably be just fine.

Overall, it's the best camera bag of any kind I've ever owned — by far, but I'm a cheapskate. People have stopped me in the street and asked me where I got it. That said, it's probably not as good as the (far more expensive) Cumpler and Thinktank bags.

This backpack is gentle on your camera and harsh on your body. Layers of foam padding places the center of gravity too far out and gives the pack a bloated shape that doesn't conform to your back. I loaded the bag with my camera body, three small lenses, a flash, and an empty water bottle. The bag was unstable and I hadn't even filled the water bottle or tried to add a tripod. No adjustment would prevent the straps from spreading and pulling painfully on the corners of my shoulders. A laptop might fix the balance but I rarely plan to cary one. I could see using this to store equipment on an airplane or taxi but it was no good for walking or hiking. By contrast, a plain Jansport carries all that, plus water, comfortably for hours on my shoulders.

The packing mechanics:

The shoulder straps attach to the opposite side of the zipper compared to a normal backpack. A zipper failure will not dump your cargo.

Your camera body goes in a top pouch to supposedly enable easy access. The easy access flap is held down with a oddly gigantic squeeze clip, velcro, and two zippers. I tried it a few times and found it to be more trouble than opening the backpack.

Three small dividers forming a "+" shape are attached with velcro in the lower left. They can be moved a small amount or taken out.

A divider under the top left access flap is sewn on one side and has velcro on the other two sides, allowing it to be folded down. It doesn't hold much weight when up.

A long divider running down the right side is sewn on two perpendicular sides and has velcro on the third side, which is a bewildering and non-functional configuration. The product picture shows a tripod in there but I can't imagine that happening. It holds a stack of lenses better.

There's a laptop pouch in the side facing your back.

There are unpadded pen holders and pockets inside. They may scratch your equipment if used.

There is a narrow filter holder pouch on each side of the exterior.

Two straps are included to attach a tripod to the far end of the backpack the center column of what looks like the "M". Placing weight this far from your back would bruise your shoulders in short time.
