Best Lowepro Classified 140 AW Deals

If you are serious about photography, before long you will accumulate some equipment and several camera bags. You will soon learn that camera bags are like luggage you will need one to fit the occasion.

I now own five Lowepro camera bags. From smallest to largest:

* Classified 30

* Classified 140

* Classified 160

* Fastpack 350

* Pro Trekker 300 AW

Bags have to accommodate not only the occasion, but the equipment you want to carry, and maybe the equipment you hope to one day own and hope to fit in the bag. Below is the new stuff I own:

* Canon PowerShot G11

* Canon EOS60D (without grip)

* EF-S 17-55

* EF-S 10-22

* EF 70-200L IS

* Speedlite 430EX II

* Manfrotto 190CXPRO4 Carbon Fiber Tripod with the 054 Magnesium Ball Head with Q2 QR

OK. I bought the Classified 140 to hold my EOS60D with EF-S 17-55 lens, hood, and perhaps a map or travel book or sunglasses. It works for me as a small bag to carry just the essentials one DSLR camera (not too big), one lens, around town when I want to keep a low profile.

I have read all the bad reviews about this bag but I still bought it anyway it was my last bag in my lineup. For anyone contemplating one of the Classified bags, I would recommend looking at the 160. The 160 is bigger, deeper, can carry an iPad, and has a little pocket for my tabletop tripod. Most photographers would be better served by the 160, but for what I describe above, the 140 is perfect. I can carry it all day without bother. I use the 160 when I want to look discreet and carry more. With the exception of the tripod, I can get all of the above in the 160, but it is heavy. If I want everything the 160 carries plus more room for extras and a laptop, I choose the Fastpack 350. And finally, for when I do landscape photography, I want something to carry a tripod (the Pro Trekker has three ways to do it), lots of water, lots of equipment, and a removable fanny pack/top pack, then there is no contest -the Pro Trekker is the one I use. You see, trying to get away with one bag, especially if you have lots of stuff, will never work. Get the 140 for when you walk around town with what I describe while on vacation or doing other things. Choose the 140 for when you are in dress clothes and want to use your DSLR for some great low light event pictures. And get the 140 if you have an ILC camera, a couple of lenses, flash and what have you. For an ILC or larger compact with extras (think PowerShot G1X), the 140 should work well.

I hope this helps. I just wanted to counter all of the trashing of this bag by reviewers expecting something it is not and was never designed to do.

I use the bag for a Nikon D5000 with 55-200 and 18-55 lenses. All fit nicely along with spare batteries, filters and lens cleaner. With a flash unit or additional lenses get a larger size. Doesn't look like a stereotypical camera bag. I am very pleased.

I was looking for a small sub camera bag and chose this bag over Domke F-5XB and something else from thinktank.

This bag is not for you if you need a bag to carry more than your attached lens. I find it great to carry around when I want to take a short walk around the city or run off for a short day trip.

It fits just the amount I would need without becoming a big bulk. I usually pack a d50 or d300 with a wide angle zoom lens/hood attached, and a speedlight in the main compartment, and other filters, memory cards and batteries in the small pockets.

With a d50 inside it's not that tight, but with a d300 inside it is a little snug, but it's okay if you open up the expanding zipper.

I love the bag because it's small enough to carry anywhere all day without attracting much eyes and without adding much strain to your shoulder. Also the bag itself looks and feels great, and the material used and finish is also top-notch.

Overall I'd recommend it to anyone in the market for a small, low profile but great looking, tough bag.

Been a big fan of Lowepro, so I bought this hoping to use it with my S&F harness (as Lowepro advertised), I was extremely disappointed.

1The bag is way too small for a 6D and a kit lens, I had to remove all the velcro dividers to barely fit my camera... not the safest setup, so I end up using it less and less.

2Lowepro falsely advertised their S&F Harness system can attach to Classified and Magnum bag, so false, the bag hangs two low and too loose to be of any use. To be fair, this is a point I hold against Lowepro and how the harness/bag combo were advertised.

3The shoulder strap felt a bit uncomfortable, at first, but I haven't tried it on a long run, it may get worse, or I may get used to it. I can't tell.

4It has small pockets on the front, but they're too small to carry anything of use.

Maybe if you have a small DSLR, it maybe able to hold the camera, lens + flash, as the picture shows, but it's not the case for me.

I wanted to take it back, but I got it 50% off and the cost to ship it back would've diminished my returns, so I'm keeping it.

This is a Domke branded case, made by Tiffen. Domke is an old and well respected brand in camera cases, and it was purchased by Tiffen some years ago to flesh out Tiffen's product line.

I have no idea whether this particular model predates the Tiffen acquisition, but as with other Domke/Tiffen collaborations I find it to be a very nice product. This thing is incredibly sturdy and well padded, with a semi-rigid structure that should shrug off most small impacts. It's got a hook-and-loop belt loop which is probably the weakest link structurally it's still fairly secure, but I can see how it could be ripped off of a belt if enough pressure were applied to it. It also includes a handy shoulder strap should you wish to carry it that way, although it's so small the belt loop seems like it's more practical.

The shape of the case is somewhat of an oddity. Unlike most lens cases, it opens to the *front* and not simply on the *top*. This means it's not cylindrical, and instead the opening flap is sloped upwards on the front of the case. The flap is secured with twin zippers on its sides (which are linked together by fabric), as well as with a generous patch of hook-and-loop on the very top of the case. This design enables easier access to the lens, however it also means that the case isn't secure at all when it's not closed up, so do be careful on entry and exit.

One thing that should be reiterated this thing is called "compact" for a reason, it's a very small case. It can hold my Olympus 50mm f/2 Four Thirds system macro lens along with my Micro 4/3 adapter, but only just. It should be fine for small primes, but even kit lens type DSLR zooms will probably have trouble squeezing into it.

Good protect from bumps and the double zipper pull-down allows quick access to gear. Price like all Domke is reasonable especially considering it's made in the USA. The only gripe I have is the back loop does not inspire total confidence.

I just received this compact lens case and was totally surprised by it! Originally I thought it would just be a compact carrying lens case for a small lens, but it is not that simple! It is a tough lens case with stiff exterior and well and sufficient paded interior. In the buttom, it also provides additional protection for lens. It comes with a strap to letting you to easily carry it all around, and it can also be mounted on your belt. The two zippers are both YKK brand, and they are connected with a handle which enables you to access the lens easily. I put my Nikon 35mm F1.8G lens inside, and it fits perfectly. The quality of this lens case is way above my expectation. I strongly recommend it!!!

When I received this Case Logic CPL-108GY Backpack, I wanted to test its durability. First, I removed all the padded compartments/dividers and used it to carry novels, notebooks, pencil pouches, etc., to work, church, and most everywhere I go. For nearly four months, I have carried this backpack faithfully every day. The zippers, buckles and seams have remained intact. None have torn or ripped apart.

I own numerous electronic devices including several digital cameras, a portable DVD player, a portable film projector, portable Bluetooth speaker, and several wireless headphones. The Case Logic CPL-108GY Backpack makes it easy to carry all of these. The padded compartments/dividers inside the backpack are easy to remove and reinsert. There is a diagram that comes with the backpack; it explains every part of the backpack, which has a multitude of compartments and pockets--more than I will ever use. If you lose the diagram, there is one on Amazon's website for this product.

I took this backpack with me when I photographed animals at the Norfolk Zoo. I own a Canon EOS Rebel T3 12.2 MP CMOS Digital SLR [Canon EOS Rebel T3 12.2 MP CMOS Digital SLR with 18-55mm IS II Lens and EOS HD Movie Mode (Black)], which my parents bought me for Christmas two years ago. I was able to carry extra flash memory cards [SanDisk 32GB SDHC Flash Memory Card (SDSDB-032G-B35)] inside slots that are provided for them. Thankfully, this backpack has its own blue weather hood. It began raining rather hard at the zoo. I was able to put the hood over the backpack with little difficulty.

I highly recommend the Case Logic CPL-108GY Backpack for carrying all your electronics. It is strong, durable, sturdy and should last many years with proper treatment. It reminds me very much of my JanSport Backpacks, which I have always bought. I gave a CPL-108GY Backpack to my girlfriend, Tammy, who is an amateur photographer, for Valentine`s Day. She also likes it very much because of its multitude of compartments/dividers. Also, she said it was lightweight, but strong, compared to other backpacks she has purchased.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is a medium sized camera backpack.. a perfect size for my amateur needs. I don't want something huge, but need something to travel with that has room for my camera, a lense, and some other non-photography related stuff. I like the protected sleeve for the tablet!

I also like that this doesn't have a huge logo advertising Nikon or other big camera name...proclaiming that I have an expensive camera on board. This looks like a generic backback.

One feature it doesn't have, is a sling option with rapid access to the camera. I like the sling bags that you wear over one shoulder and you can rotate horizontally in front of you for fast access to a camera from a door on the side. Some bags allow you to convert to this configuration. This one does not.

The internal padding is of good quality and very flexible with regard to changing configuration. There is room for all my gear if I need it (I am a casual photographer) including an SLR, extra lense, flash, sd cards and batteries. You can attach a tripod to the outside if you want.

There is a rain cover that is easy to get to and stretch over the bag.. a very nice feature. I am not sure how water repellent the bag itself is without the cover.. not something I want to test!

The best features though for me are that it is fairly compact, anonymous, and has room for everything a traveling amateur photographer needs. This is perfect to take with when being a tourist and wanting access to your camera, accessories, travel book, snacks etc etc.

I've always been a big Case Logic fan. I've just always preferred their features, build quality and look. I've bought numerous CL case & bags over the years for that reason.

It's a nice enough backpack if you have a small load and don't need it to be rugged. It's much smaller than I expected. I have a manfrotto 055x tripod (a medium sized tripod) and the tripod strap doesn't come close to fitting it. The tripod strap is really only big enough to accommodate a small monopod. I feel like the description of this was misleading. So unfortunately this bag fails for me, I'll be sending it back.

Like its big brother, it's comfortable, has good padding, and has excellent protective compartments in the main body that are customizable. The side velcro-slot is great for a monopod. As advertised, the back compartment has enough room for an iPad or other tablet. Unlike its big brother, it has a weather sleeve just in case you get caught in rain or snow.

If you have a small DSLR or camcorder setup for run-and-gun shooting, this bag is an outstanding choice. It's light and comfortable, while providing a good degree of protection and the convenience of a protective compartment for a tablet.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I have a Nikon D90 and find the case that comes with the camera to be too big and bulky to carry around. I travel as lightweight as I can, but I don't skimp on protection for my Nikon D7000 w/ a 35mm lens. I have this bag attached to my backpack straps with two carabiners. The padding is perfect, but there's no extra space wasted (which means it's lightweight.)

The back rides up front with me all day when I hike, and it works perfectly. I have the Zoom version for longer lenses, and it's just as good.

I like this bag. I don't think you want much extra space for a camera bag (ie your camera bouncing around in a bag), so this is great. I don't have extra lenses, so this is just the nice compact case to protect my camera. If you want to carry a bunch of accessories, this is not for you. I like that it is small enough I can stick it in my larger purses, so it doesn't scream "I am carrying an expensive camera."

This case exceeded my expectations. It has more of a classicly stylish appearance rather than just a modern or utilitarian look to it and is very well made. I purchased this case at the last minute because I was leaving for a vacation to Disney World and didn't want to spend $200 for a new case but also didn't want my new D-Lux 5 getting banged around and scratched. I couldn't be happier. It was very easy to carry around and while it was slightly snug, it seemed to fit the camera just fine. Apparently the new cases are slightly enlarged to accommodate the Lumix which is essentially the same camera as the Leica (except for that tiny strap eyelet which was enough previously to make the Lumix NOT fit). The bag offers somewhat stiff padding giving OK protection. The linked double zipper makes for quick opening and closing. Bag even has enough room to leave attached the Arca Swiss type rail, but only barely and only when angled just right.

What I don't like is that there is only two ways to carry this. Either by the shoulder strap, which seems thin, or by the belt loop. I would like a hand strap. I end up using the strap between the two zippers as a hand strap, but that isn't very safe. I would also like it if the belt loop was a better Velcro system designed to mate to better camera bags. similar to the MAS system. If you haven't seen this system, don't discount it because it is Velcro, it is actually very secure with three ways of holding on or together. First the Velcro is overly generous and high quality. Second there are two snaps to secure it. And third the loop is actually a much wider flap that is reinforced with thick plastic. So if the Velcro failed and the snaps failed, the plastic would still allow it to hang and not fall. BTW, these haven't failed in any way for me.

Also the color of the case is rather plain.

Received the 'Canon LZ1324 Lens Case' with the Canon 70-200mm lens and it's proven to do the job in all instances of its use. I've had it slung across a shoulder, in combination with (to balance out) "Cotton Carrier" devices and have found it secure, albeit a bit clumsy because of the weight of the lens, and incorporate it within my camera bag. The Velcro closure and dual zippers make for easy open and closure. Wouldn't be without it.

I purchased this because of the familiarity of the Polaroid name. The materials the adapter are made of seem to be of good quality and the threads fit snugly, but the three set screws were loose in the package. On further investigation, I found that the screws did not even fit the threads in the holes, but just fell through. Not something that could have been easily overlooked by the assembler. Hoped to use the adapter and instead I am waiting for another adapter from a different manufacturer.

i bought this bag to carry my canon 40d and a lens i use. well it worked great for about a month and just recently it has started to tear from the seams in 3 different places. and because its tearing at the handle i can no longer use it. im disappointed but i think all in all this bag would work for a smaller more compact camera or maybe even the rebel. i dont recommend for larger dslr's.

This camera bag is Ideal for me because it is small enough that it does not get in the way it tight spaces, but is large enough to fit my Nikon d5000, 18/55 lens, 55/200 lens, sb600 speed light, 2x converter lens, wide angle lens,battery grip, all of the cables and charger, my point and shoot camera, lens hood, and have room left. Got this because I finally had to, after buying too many attachments for my Panasonic Lumix. The pack was available at a good price, as these things can get expensive very quickly, especially for names like Tamrac, Thinktank and Lowepro. This same pack made by any of those would cost two to three times as much.

But, one gets what one pays for. A small fishnet pocket just under the front cover tore when I went to stick an extra battery in there. Not good, but not worth returning the pack for that. Pocket is virtually useless otherwise, since too small. I didn't really need it, but it shouldn't have torn like it did.) There's a better pocket on the right side in a separate compartment (that zips) just under the front flap cover and then another larger fishnet pocket on the inside (that also zips) opposite the main interior where the camera, any lenses and so on go. And yeah, dividers are all adjustable or removable if one doesn't need them all. Oddly, there's a strap attached to one of the main dividers for which there seems no use. Maybe someone knows what it's for; I don't.

Otherwise, seems pretty good. It turned out the right size for all my gear, including a wide-angle lens attachment in case, the lens extender necessary for attaching the wide-angle or any filter, the camera in case of course, a special viewing hood (to block screen glare) with loupe and which--in it's own case--is as big as the camera, a Nikon lens cleaning kit (and which I HIGHLY recommend obtaining), and a few other minor items: spare battery, battery charger, 100-page camera manual!, etc.

The pack with very cushy dividers turned out just the right size, not too big and not too small. I got everything in it. Kinda wish there were some tripod straps, but at the price...

If you have a DSLR, this might be a little tight if you also have more than two extra lenses. If so, don't expect to fit a lot more in the pack beyond those items.

Have to see how long it lasts after using for awhile.

The Canon underwater housings are designed to protect your camera from the elements, whether they are sand, rain, pool, or ocean. For use on the beach, while snorkeling, or taking shots of your kids in a pool there is little or no need to worry about the buoyancy of your camera housing. If you free dive or scuba dive you do not want your camera housing floating out of your hands. These weights are an easy way to adjust the buoyancy of your housing. The kit comes with four weight plates so you can fine tune your housing's buoyancy. I prefer a heavier setup and have added an extra plate compared to what was recommended by Canon. I'm very happy with the setup and they are very easy to use.

The weights worked wonderfully but there were three things I'd like to point out before singing it's praises.

1.) As I was diving with the camera, the weights eventually worked themselves loose and had to be tightened about every 2 dives.

2.) The main screw that holds the weights together and on the camera (and that kept working its way loose) was the part that rusted, despite regularly soaking it in fresh water and drying it after diving.

3.) I met at least 4 other people with a canon underwater housing and only one other had weights for their camera. Everyone else said they didn't really need them. As for the two of us that had the weights, we only used two from that pack of 4 and the weighted case bumped off of stuff because it was dangling below, rather than hovering with me.

A couple of small steel plates and a thumbscrew that serve the purpose and are necessary for UW use, but are remarkably expensive. Should be included with the housing.

I got these for the case I purchased for my 700 IS and the most useful thing in the box was the manual. It tells you how to find out how many weights your camera model requires (which in my case was none!!!) So while these weights work great if you need them, make sure you do before you buy. Look around for Canon's underwater photography guide which should help clue you in.

This product will offer some protection for your camera but there is a lot of room for improvement.

1. The material has very little grip. It could easily slip out of your hand.

2. The material could be a little stiffer. It doesn't fit as snugly as you'd hope.

3. The LCD cover is borderline useless.

On the plus side you will retain 100% functionality while this is on your camera. The buttons line up nicely and everything is labeled nicely.

If you are rough and tough on your camera and take it everywhere this would be a good purchase. If you work in a studio there really is no reason to buy this.

I originally had the Delkin SnugIt for my two D90's but then switched over to Camera Armor which was more robust and I liked better. My primary is now a D7000 but Camera Armor claimed they had no plans to make a model for that camera. Delkin comes through again. I highly suggest this cover for your camera, particularly if you carry it every day like I do. Well worth the extra protection.

For my D90, I used to use Camera Armor case, which was very rugged and was just awesome. For D7000, no idea why they stopped making it. Only option was this Delkin D7000, so i purchased it. Let me tell the pros and cons which I believe some of the reviews have already captured:

Pros:

1: Very easy to fit and easy to remove.

2. not very prone to lint.

3. All controls are accessible.

Cons:

1. Rubber very thin, feels bit flimsy at start. I still doubt the ruggedness of this.

2. no covering for bottom part, so it remains exposed.

3. Very slippery at start, but you will be accustomed after some use.

4. Markings of controls are in black color which makes it impossible to see in dark

Overall not the best possible cover but not the worst either and worth protecting your $1000 investment.

I bought this to provide my camera with a bit more protection. It fits very well and although covering many labels on the camera's button, has some of the names of the labels pressed into the skin. My only reservation is that the exterior rubber skin is so smooth, it makes the camera seem almost slippery (the only reason I only gave this a four-star rating). I've had no problems with getting all of the buttons, doors, etc. to work through the skin.

I got this pack because we were about to go to Glacier National Park and do a good bit of day-hiking. We hiked a total of about 30 miles during the week we were there, and I used the pack for all of it. I loved it! It is big enough for what I needed but not too big for my small frame. I had tried an over the shoulder sling because of the side access, but that was too much weight on one shoulder. This pack worked well because it was comfortable on both shoulders, but by quickly slipping it off one shoulder, I could easily access my camera from the side entry pocket. I haven't used it without the middle divider, but I think that is a great feature for some instances. My only wish is that the divider could be adjusted up or down a little more to make the bottom or top a different size instead of just taking it out all together. But I love the pack and would highly recommend it!

Just got back from a trip to Europe with my wife and took this bag. Plenty of space for a daypack with camera and some extra gear. Safe against pick pockets. We absouluty love this bag its perfect for traveling or hiking with your gear. I was and am soo happy with it.

This is a great little camera case. It seems the majority of camera cases are impractically large and inconvenient. I don't need/want a big case and this little case provides all the protection I could want. The neoprene is a great choice. I wish the outer pocket was a little larger, as it will fit extra batteries, but is too small to accommodate their battery cases. I really like the low profile case and I would never worry about tossing it in a bag and hitting the road.
