Lowepro Classified 140 AW Shoulder Bag
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

If you are serious about photography, before long you will accumulate some equipment and several camera bags. You will soon learn that camera bags are like luggage you will need one to fit the occasion.

I now own five Lowepro camera bags. From smallest to largest:

* Classified 30

* Classified 140

* Classified 160

* Fastpack 350

* Pro Trekker 300 AW

Bags have to accommodate not only the occasion, but the equipment you want to carry, and maybe the equipment you hope to one day own and hope to fit in the bag. Below is the new stuff I own:

* Canon PowerShot G11

* Canon EOS60D (without grip)

* EF-S 17-55

* EF-S 10-22

* EF 70-200L IS

* Speedlite 430EX II

* Manfrotto 190CXPRO4 Carbon Fiber Tripod with the 054 Magnesium Ball Head with Q2 QR

OK. I bought the Classified 140 to hold my EOS60D with EF-S 17-55 lens, hood, and perhaps a map or travel book or sunglasses. It works for me as a small bag to carry just the essentials one DSLR camera (not too big), one lens, around town when I want to keep a low profile.

I have read all the bad reviews about this bag but I still bought it anyway it was my last bag in my lineup. For anyone contemplating one of the Classified bags, I would recommend looking at the 160. The 160 is bigger, deeper, can carry an iPad, and has a little pocket for my tabletop tripod. Most photographers would be better served by the 160, but for what I describe above, the 140 is perfect. I can carry it all day without bother. I use the 160 when I want to look discreet and carry more. With the exception of the tripod, I can get all of the above in the 160, but it is heavy. If I want everything the 160 carries plus more room for extras and a laptop, I choose the Fastpack 350. And finally, for when I do landscape photography, I want something to carry a tripod (the Pro Trekker has three ways to do it), lots of water, lots of equipment, and a removable fanny pack/top pack, then there is no contest -the Pro Trekker is the one I use. You see, trying to get away with one bag, especially if you have lots of stuff, will never work. Get the 140 for when you walk around town with what I describe while on vacation or doing other things. Choose the 140 for when you are in dress clothes and want to use your DSLR for some great low light event pictures. And get the 140 if you have an ILC camera, a couple of lenses, flash and what have you. For an ILC or larger compact with extras (think PowerShot G1X), the 140 should work well.

I hope this helps. I just wanted to counter all of the trashing of this bag by reviewers expecting something it is not and was never designed to do.

I use the bag for a Nikon D5000 with 55-200 and 18-55 lenses. All fit nicely along with spare batteries, filters and lens cleaner. With a flash unit or additional lenses get a larger size. Doesn't look like a stereotypical camera bag. I am very pleased.

I was looking for a small sub camera bag and chose this bag over Domke F-5XB and something else from thinktank.

This bag is not for you if you need a bag to carry more than your attached lens. I find it great to carry around when I want to take a short walk around the city or run off for a short day trip.

It fits just the amount I would need without becoming a big bulk. I usually pack a d50 or d300 with a wide angle zoom lens/hood attached, and a speedlight in the main compartment, and other filters, memory cards and batteries in the small pockets.

With a d50 inside it's not that tight, but with a d300 inside it is a little snug, but it's okay if you open up the expanding zipper.

I love the bag because it's small enough to carry anywhere all day without attracting much eyes and without adding much strain to your shoulder. Also the bag itself looks and feels great, and the material used and finish is also top-notch.

Overall I'd recommend it to anyone in the market for a small, low profile but great looking, tough bag.

its my everday bag to fit not just camera and lenses, but keys, wallet, smart phones, pocket tools, mens' care, man-igan.

Been a big fan of Lowepro, so I bought this hoping to use it with my S&F harness (as Lowepro advertised), I was extremely disappointed.

1The bag is way too small for a 6D and a kit lens, I had to remove all the velcro dividers to barely fit my camera... not the safest setup, so I end up using it less and less.

2Lowepro falsely advertised their S&F Harness system can attach to Classified and Magnum bag, so false, the bag hangs two low and too loose to be of any use. To be fair, this is a point I hold against Lowepro and how the harness/bag combo were advertised.

3The shoulder strap felt a bit uncomfortable, at first, but I haven't tried it on a long run, it may get worse, or I may get used to it. I can't tell.

4It has small pockets on the front, but they're too small to carry anything of use.

Maybe if you have a small DSLR, it maybe able to hold the camera, lens + flash, as the picture shows, but it's not the case for me.

I wanted to take it back, but I got it 50% off and the cost to ship it back would've diminished my returns, so I'm keeping it.

Well, I bought this because it looked compact and safe. In general, I think it's just right. I use it with my P50, and there isn't much room left for any other thing.

There is a inner mesh pocket where you can definitely fit an extra SD card (maybe two) as long as you don't use its plastic case, otherwise, you will have to push your camera a little bit in order to fit. Also, there's a front pocket where I place two extra batteries but everything gets pretty tight, so that's all I can carry... If you need to carry cables, forget it!.

For me, I think it would had been better if the case were just a little bit bigger, by adding 1 or 1/2 cm to each side would help a lot, and things would be less squashed... if you want a tiny-as-posible case this could be your choice!

Also notice, there isn't clips (or holes) for shoulderstrap, so you'll need to wear a belt all the time unless you want to take it in your hands or a bag... I'm planinng to make some holes in order to add one (it's better this way when your wearing bathing suits)...

I find this to be a perfect holder for the Nikon P-60... it is padded enough to protect the camera from moderate drops, large enough to hold 4 extra AA cells & an extra SD or SDHC card (in plastic protector) but is still not overly bulky. Nice!

Best Deals for P-series Fabric Case Black

The Nikon Coolpix P60 camera I purchased this case for fits in the case perfectly, and I like the Velcro strap for attaching the camera to a belt when not in use. However, I wish the case was a little larger, or at least had a storage compartment for extra batteries.

Honest reviews on P-series Fabric Case Black

I bought this case for my Nikon P5100. It fits perfectly, but not enough room for the Nikon strap [I will live with that]. Enough padding to protect my Nikon, but not overly bulky. I am very please with this case.

Not fancy but fits perfectly. Nicely padded but not bulky. There is a compartment in the back for an extra memory card and another in the front for a couple of AA batteries or a USB SD Card Reader.

This Ape Case is really nice. It just barely fits my Canon EOS Rebel T3i and EF-S 70-300mm telephoto lens without being too bulky and it's fairly comfortable on my shoulder. The zippers work well, pocket is convenient, and bright yellow interior is perfect for a camera bag. My only issue is that the strap is too long. I end up taking a lot of photos around tidepools and sometimes I'd like to be able to shorten the strap so that there's no chance of me dipping the bag in the water if I crouch down. Although the strap is adjustable, it won't go as short as I'd like and the shoulder pad can't be used at all unless the bag is hanging way below my waist. I planned on shortening the strap myself but haven't gotten around to it yet. In a perfect world, this bag would be completely waterproof, but for the price it's quite adequate.

Review of Crumpler Haven Camera Bag (L) HVN001-X06G60 - Black/Grey

Crumpler Haven Camera Bag HVN001-X06G60 - Black/Grey
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars
Buy Now
Crumpler bags are well made and thoughtfully designed so I figured their inserts had a good chance of the same. And, indeed, the Haven is well made, attractive and thoughtfully designed for its stated purpose. It's as if Crumpler designers actually test and use their designs for photography! I use my Haven in a medium Timbuk2 Classic Messenger and it fits perfectly with room outside the Haven for a water bottle, light jacket, iPad, etc.

One of things that distinguish the Haven from standard inserts is it is a fully padded self-contained unit with side pockets for CF cards, filters, USB cables, etc., and a draw string to close the top. So it's easy to transfer your camera gear and small accessories without digging through the pockets of the host bag. When I travel on an airliner, I close the top and toss the Haven in a backpack or suitcase, and use my Timbuk2 bag for other things.

The Amazon image of the gray Haven isn't very telling but the interior is lined with dayglow green brushed cloth and includes 3 rigid velcro equipped dividers. I'm not a fan of dayglow colors but it makes it easy to see inside. The dividers are covered in the same soft cloth as the lining but are not padded. The two main dividers act like pillars and have hinged wings which may be used to support a top-loaded camera with lens mounted and pointed down. And, because the divider are rigid, they don't collapse under the weight of the camera. The third smaller divider may be used to further divide a space, e.g., place between stacked lenses. My Canon 5D2 with mounted 24-105 4L IS USM fits well with room to spare for a Speedlite and/or small prime or zoom. If you prefer to stow your camera without lens mounted, you can bend the wings up and use them to protect tall items stored in the side spaces. You can squeeze in more gear with the lens removed: my EF 70-200 4L IS USM, 24-105 4L IS USM and 5D2 fit without a whimper. However, I prefer my camera ready-to-go with a mounted lens so I don't make the most efficient use of the space. The interior space is roughly equal to that of my Crumpler 5 Million Dollar Home.

I can't think of any serious cons, although I'd prefer a more neutral interior color. The ultra tough and waterproof exterior fabric is probably overkill for most users but may prove useful if the Haven falls out of your bag or gets left out in the rain. All in all, an attractive and well designed and constructed insert, perfect for photogs wishing to travel incognito with a standard messenger bag or backpack. I'd give it 5 stars but it's a bit too pricy so I docked it one. However, for the extra bread you do get a much better insert than most out there.

I have to start off by explaining my love-hate relationship with Crumpler. They are easily the most progressive, thoughtful bag maker out there. Their products are beautiful to look at, and nearly every detail has been well thought out. I fall in love with their bags online. Yet, there is ALWAYS some little detail that causes me to return my purchase. For instance, their camera backpacks are beautifully constructed, yet the sides curve in such a way to reduce the functional capacity just below my needs.

This insert is VERY well constructed (like everything made by Crumpler). The lining is tightly woven and not covered in small fuzz that I worry will eventually wind up inside my camera. The dividers are nicely stiff and their velcro is exceptionally grippy. It makes this bag very easy to customize to your liking. And, it comes with 3 dividers. Two flap styled for holding an SLR in place with a lens attached. And, the third is a flat that could be used to create floor under a lens to store filters, etc.

If you are not carrying a big of a load, say an APS-C with a standard sized lens or two, then this is DEFINITELY your bag insert. Buy it, and you will love it for sure. It makes for a well-protected, but inconspicuous way to carry your camera around. It will make you far less of a target for unwanted attention from thieves and other undesirables.

I carry a Canon 5D Mark III, with a Canon 24-105 f/4 L in place. And, if I Feng Shui things just right with the lens against the left side of the bag, and the flap divider sitting under the grip side. I can fit my 17-40 f/4 L with it's lens hood in place reversed. And this still leaves an awkward space for other accessories or even perhaps a small prime.

Generally, my preference is to carry my camera with the lens in the bag center and stabilized with a lens or speedlight on either side. The balance feels better this way. But, as this is an insert for my backpack, this might be less of a consideration.

I can even fit my Canon 70-200 f/4 IS L instead of the 17-40 but, not both. There is no room for accessories in this configuration. (See my photos.)

I just wish this were 5% larger. It would still fit inside my backpack, but it would make it slightly more functional for me. The build quality is so high, it makes up for the size short comings. I hope they make an XL soon. 4 stars for me personally. 5 stars for an APS-C shooter.

Best Deals for Crumpler Haven Camera Bag (L) HVN001-X06G60 - Black/Grey

This is the perfect little gear bag, although, it is smaller than I expected. It barely fits my Canon 7D body, stock lens attached, macro and zoom lenses. Pockets on the outside are great, perfect for holding odds and ends and the material is nice and stretchy, so easy to use.

Would have been a 5 star rating if it had just been a bit bigger.

Honest reviews on Crumpler Haven Camera Bag (L) HVN001-X06G60 - Black/Grey

Great design! I'm able to fit a 7D with a 17-55 f/2.8 lens attached, and a 70-200 f/4 lens in this bag with the top cinched completely down. I can also comfortably stack a 50mm f/1.4 and a 1.4x Extender II on top of all of that, and cinch the top around those, securing them snugly. That entire package is about 12" tall, which is very compact for that much gear, and allows me a lot of remaining space in my backpack.

With the width of the 7D, the 70-200 is directly in contact with the body, so I slip the telephoto in a neoprene sleeve (the kind used to insulate a nalgene bottle), and that provides a generous cushion. The padding on the Haven is excellent--I have no concerns about my gear being damaged in a backpack if I take some normal precautions with packing the rest of my gear, and not dropping the pack.

Two of the pockets are designed for SD cards, not for CF cards. I can't wedge a CF card in. The other three pockets are very handy. The middle lower pocket fits a spare battery nicely.

It's not a cheap insert, but it's not cheaply made either, and it's protecting more than 50x its cost in gear, so it's well worth it. Aside from allowing me to sling more than just camera gear on my back, it's nice to carry around a generic backpack rather than a camera-specific bag that advertises what I'm carrying.

Never seemed to find the good camera bag. Too big, too small, too heavy, too fragile, not appropriated, not enough this, not enough that...

And then: Tatatan ! This pouch appeared to my astonished eyes.

It fits every bag (camera or not) i have, contains up to a Canon 70-200 f/2,8, protects my gear in every situation, even on a motorcycle, can be taken every where i go, the small pockets on the front side are very handy, the built quality is excellent, the red colour inside allows to find instantaneously what you're looking for.

Well, it fits me perfectly.

In short, it is as good as it looks in the description and photos. On Amazon I always wonder if I will get something less than what I think it will be from the descriptions. This was just what I hoped for. The fabric/material is good quality, looks good, and it is quite firm, but not rock hard. It has fuzzy fabric inside. It looks like the type of quality you would expect from a case bought from the camera manufacturer. It had just enough room for me to squeeze in both the Sony camera and USB charge cord. I didn't try with the Panasonic.

This case fits the SD200 very well. When the sd200 is in the case, it becomes as thick as an s410 camera (by itself, without a case on). It is pretty stiff so it should protect it from scratches and even mild pressure applied to it. It has a magnetic buckle that snaps into place and snaps off easily. The material feels very good in the hand, and looks very classy. The top flap has a small hole where the wrist strap prong slips through.

The back features a belt loop (not a clasp) for you to slide a belt through, or feed it through a strap (ie a messenger bag) although the latter would be a bad idea as the magnetic clasp on the flap isnt very strong, it could unbuckle pretty easily (as it is meant to do).

the front of the camera is meant to face the front of the case (and the back faces the belt loop). that gives the lcd screen extra protection. it is the only way the sd200 fits in this case (as the strap pront faces the front).

Along the sides, there seems to be a semi rigid insert .. top and bottom. probly plastic or cardboard, under the leather material. this helps prevent the buttons from being depressed, accidentally turning the camera on while in the case.

Fantastic case, looks great, feels great, small.

Downside ... no pocket for a spare battery. There is a tiny slit of a pocket in the case .. but it seems to be made for a sd case.

No Personal Attack is Intended BUT as someone who owns a Red PSC-90 case, I have to point out that Gabriel's review is TOTALLY WRONG !!!! I had actually placed my order with Amazon before reading his review. His review made me worry needlessly. My previous camera was a Canon S410 and now I own a Canon SD200 so I am well aware of their differences in size. All I can say is that his must have been mislabeled or he ordered the wrong bag. It's A CUSTOM FIT TRUST ME. The case is at least an inch shorter than the one for the Canon "S" series (I had the black leather one). Come on peoplethis is Canon we're talking about. They're not going to sell you a bag that's not intended for the specific camera(s). Even the silver Canon label is half the size as the ones intended for the Canon S500.

Finally, it is made from very high quality grade leather and I wasn't sure about the red (in the picture) but in person, it's very striking. The strap is made from the same grade leather. I like the look of the strap but it's unfortunately a bit too stiff. I have reverted back to the original strap but that's my only minor complaint. Granted, I think more women than men will like the RED but I'm so happy not to have another "boring, black leather camera bag". As far as dimensions, I don't need to measure them all I know is that it fits perfectly without any wiggle room ANYWHERE. The leather is also nice and rigid and will last for many years to come. If you have the Canon Sd200/300, get this case WITHOUT A MOMENT'S HESITATION (unless you want a bag to carry your extra accessories as well)! And yes, the other reviewer is correct there's no room for a card (or anything else that matter) but that's exactly what I was looking for. An ultra-compact bag for my ultra-compact camera!

Best Deals for Canon PSC-90 Deluxe Leather Case for the SD200, SD300, SD450, SD400

I bought this along with my SD 450 and I love it. This is only a good case if you have an ultracompact camera (like the ones listed in the product title) and want to KEEP it ultracompact. That's why I got it, and if you don't care about ease of shoving your camera in your pocket, then don't bother with this one.

There is obviously no place for anything but the camera, and I don't see an issue with that. If you get a 1GB memory card, that should be all you need. And if you want to keep your camera super portable, then why have a need for an extra battery in your pocket anyway? If you really want that, get a bigger case (probably not the PSC 50 though, which may actually damage your camera).

However, this case is much more stylish than the PSC 50 as the quality is obviously very good, and the very official looking Canon logos on the flap and wrist strap make it look even better. Plus, it's a perfectly snug fit to keep dust, dirt, and scratches from your camera, which to me is the whole point in getting a camera case (i.e. not for extra storage space). I've dropped it on my carpeted floor a couple of times and it has been just fine (then again, I've tripped into a wall with the camera and nothing happened to it at all because it's a Canon). I've only used it for a couple of weeks, but my camera has no blemishes whatsoever and everyone thinks the case looks cute and posh. I definitely like its wriststrap better than the one that came with my camera.

The biggest drawback is that you have to pass the wriststrap through a hole every time you want to take it out, which means that it could take up to 10 seconds for you to get your camera out and then turn it on. I don't know how they could've improved this though, and I like being able to hold it very securely through the case with the strap. Plus, the magnetic button partially makes up for it since it makes it easier to put away. The belt loop on the back can be quite handy as well.

In summary, if you don't mind not having space for extras and you don't mind pushing the strap through the hole on top for removal (though the hole is fairly large), then you definitely won't be disappointed with this. It's especially easy on your wallet. I would still buy a screen protector for your LCD though, because this case can only protect the screen while it's actually in there ;)

Oh, and don't be careless with your screen. If you put the screen in facing the front of the case then it couldn't possibly get scratched by the button.

Honest reviews on Canon PSC-90 Deluxe Leather Case for the SD200, SD300, SD450, SD400

I looked at this case for my new Canon SD400. Three major problems with the three Canon cases I looked at (Coach, PSC50, PSC90):

1) They attach to your belt with the camera vertical. A horizontal mount is much less intrusive.

2) No room for an extra battery. With no battery life indication on this Canon model I want an extra battery with the camera always.

3) They either are very expensive looking (Coach) or have a metal Canon logo on the front. This is a big sign that says steal me! The metal logo tag is also prone to scratch things.

My previous camera and case was the Canon S330 and the soft case made for it. It had a perfect size pouch for a spare battery and I removed the metal Canon logo. Alas it is no longer available.

I bought the Pentax PTX-L40 for my new Canon SD400. It is a perfect fit in all ways. The embossed Pentax logo is subtle.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Canon PSC-90 Deluxe Leather Case for the SD200, SD300, SD450, SD400

What I like most about the case is that it's small, compact, and not as bulky as some Sony and third-party alternatives. The leather looks nice, but a higher quality leather (softer, on the surface) would be much better.

What makes me concern is that the flap button of the case could easily scratch the LCD screen, if you're not careful while pulling the camera out. That's why I give it 3 stars instead of 5.

Overall, a nice concept, but the rather mediocre design and the serious flap button flaw make me not completely happy for having purchased this item.

I bought this as a bag to carry my camera and an additional lens. Depending on the lenses I choose, it could also easily carry a full-sized flash and batteries. As usual with Tamrac, it has spaces ideal to hold batteries and cleaning equipment. The strap is long enough to carry like a messenger bag, and the clip-and-velcro closure is secure enough to hold everything tightly. The only thing this misses is a waterproof shell, just in case you're caught in a downpour. The bag itself is heavy nylon so it will resist a bit of rain, I'm sure.

Looking to protect my retina MBP as I take it pretty much everywhere I go. My old soft-structure backpack didn't offer the protection I was wanting, so I began my research. I own a large Pelican case for my photo gear, so I was already familiar with the brand, and the specs for this backpack matched what I wanted. Great deal ($154 on Amazon compared to $270 on the Pelican site). Would be five stars but the reason this case is so protective (the near bullet-proof laptop compartment, which is impressive), makes this bag awkward to have slung over just one shoulder (my preferred method for carrying over short distances). Over both shoulders the fit and feel is fine, but for those who treat backpacks like shoulder bags, the solid laptop compartment pulls the bag (and the shoulder strap) into weird positions. I am happy with the purchase, as my investment is quite safe (and Pelican provides adhesive foam pads to hold your particular laptop super securely) and the somewhat awkward feel when slung over one shoulder is worth it. Note: be sure the latch holding the laptop compartment snaps closed, as I though it was closed once and the laptop almost slid out when I was carrying it.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

my only disappointment was my dell XPS15 is a little too thick to fit in the compartment. It just fits shut but is not likely waterproof. I wish they had published the thickness allowed. I might have to buy a new laptop to fit the bag.

....everything else is better than expected

Best Deals for Pelican Products 0S1000-0003-150 ProGear Sport Laptop Backpack

I love the idea of this bag but Pelican could make it better. I love that it fits my 17in macbook. I did my research and picked this model because it is listed with the most bag space but it still is not enough for an Audio Visual Professional. The bag is as light as it can be considering it is a Pelican case and the gear you will be carrying with it. Pelican needs to come out with a 32L version. Laptop case and tablet case are extremely convent. I like that you can zip into the bottom of the bag through the front pouch. Another flaw is that if you use the front pouch for power cable, phone charger, tablet charger, etc it pushes into the main compartment area making it almost impossible to easily reach to the bottom of the main compartment.

Honest reviews on Pelican Products 0S1000-0003-150 ProGear Sport Laptop Backpack

I nearly rated this item at four stars due to negligible accessibility and storage flaws, but the laptop compartment is just too good for anything less than five. My 2013 15"MacBookPro fits perfectly (with included shock absorbing pads). Excellent materials, images displayed match the item exactly, excellent construction. This is one rugged pack. The "balanced carry handle" gets in the way of accessing the main storage here and there, but is in fact very well balanced even with the pack fully loaded. Wearing the pack heavily loaded is not cumbersome, the straps and pads are very well situated and shaped for comfort and long-term wear-ability, and all without putting any pressure or torsion on my computer. I've had it less than a week and I don't regret one penny on this purchase.

I was looking for a backpack that could travel in the worst conditions and protect my macbook pro totally.

It has ample space for all the extras, including my ipad and some dry clothes for a day in the wild while taking photos or bouncing around on a small boat going to remote and sometimes rainy locations. Pelican makes great products, from their dry boxes to this fine backpack, and I would highly recommend to anyone who really wants the best protection for a 15 inch thin notebook.

I bought this case to store a Canon Powershot SD770IS. It fits the camera perfectly and I like the idea of a magnetic clasp. But there's a big drawback. The interior of this case has caused scratches on my camera's LCD!

Only the top half of the interior has the soft, furry padding that protects against scratches. The bottom half exposes a nylon strap on both interior sides that has scratched up my LCD when putting the camera in and taking it out. (The magnetic flap that closes the case is on one end of the strap.) It's such an obvious flaw, I don't know why Case Logic would design it this way by exposing the strap in the interior of the case. The strap should have been hidden behind some soft interior padding instead.

In addition, on one of the sides of the top half interior, they stitch a Case Logic logo that might cause scratches too.

They advertise a feature of this case as "No-scratch nylex interior provides superior camera protection". I don't know how Case Logic could say this with a straight face.

This case fits my Olympus Stylus 1010 perfectly. It is really easy to get the camera in & out, especially if you're in a hurry.

I bought this for my Canon SX200IS, but it's too tight (not fat enough). It is perfect, however, to hold the Canon battery charger with spare battery inside, plus too extra AA batteries for my aux flash/video light. You can't go wrong with Case Logic.
