You really can't say much about a product that costs as little as this one. (Shipping is almost as expensive as the product!)

Having said that, the case is a fairly well-made neoprene protector for your Point and Shoot. The zipper appears rugged enough to withstand a lot of use, and the double zipper grips are nice. The D-Ring is better than expected, and certainly better than some of the cheap ones you often see coming from China that fall apart after a couple of uses.

The case's appearance is pleasant and unobtrusive and won't bring unwanted attention to your camera.

The reason I give it four stars instead of five is that the case should really have a belt loop and/or a pocket for an additional battery or SD card. Other than those missing components, I'm pretty happy with the case.

This is just what I needed. I bought a new Canon Powershot SD780 and I would always throw it in my bag with me to take around. This is a great case at a great price. I never bought a case for my first Canon Powershoot, I just through in my pants pocket. I figured by time it got all scratched up it would be obsolete. I bought this case for my SD1400 and it is way to big. I don't recommend it unless you are certain it exactly fits your camera model. Otherwise it will slip around and actually make your camera much larger in your pocket than it actually is which defeats the purpose of buying a small snapshot camera.

I would not recommend this kit for a beginner. The instructions are a bit weak at a few key places, such as which side of a diode goes where. For some reason a bunch of pictures are just wrong (and bizarrely called out in text as "this picture is wrong"). The board artwork didn't make use of thermal reliefs so soldering pins to the ground plane is difficult requires some care. (Thermals? I guess they don't teach that stuff in school.)

Best Deals for Triggertrap Shield for Arduino

The full-blown Triggertrap runs about $200, so assembling this shield and pairing it with a $30 Arduino Deumilanova represents quite a saving ($120 to be exact). Aside from having to assemble the shield yourself, the arrangement of components on the shield also differs from the full-blown product. The shield is virtually covered in light, laser and sound sensors plus Aux. Input, Camera Remote jacks, an IR transmitter, 5 pushbuttons and an LCD display! Quite a feat of engineering, but very hard to wrap any kind of protective case around.

Function-wise, the shield seems to do everything the full-blown unit does, with perhaps the exception of an LED indicating that the camera has been triggered. (At least I couldn't find an LED on the shield.)

As the other reviewers have indicated, assembly is pretty straightforward and well-explained (with the exception of diode orientation) on the website. You do probably need a decent temperature controlled soldering station for all these tiny components.

Once assembled and paired with an Arduino, you can trigger your camera via:

Sound

Aux. connector

You can signal to your camera with a cable (you buy or build to match your camera) or use the on-board IR Transmitter (not sure which cameras this works with). All options have threshold and delay settings.

If you have never played with the Arduino before, set aside a couple of hours to install the programming software on your PC and play with some sample "sketches" (programs). This whole process is thoroughly documented on the web and should not pose a problem if you give yourself a little time to get into it. Once "programmed" the Arduino can be disconnected from the PC and run by itself. All you will need is a 7-12 VDC power supply or it can draw 5V from a USB cable.

This is really an extraordinary product and I hope it will continue to be offered. The same vendor's Smartphone apps seem to have taken over their attention, but you don't get the cool sensors with that app.

The camera case is stylish and practical. Has an internal pocket for holding an extra battery or SD card. The outside features a self fabric loop that I can hook through a belt, a purse or luggage strap and comes with a lanyard that connects to the loop so I can dangle it from an arm or shoulder. I don't use the lanyard very much because it does get in the way when I am traveling. Since this is for a point and shoot, I just toss it in a bag and use the lanyard on the camera if I need to have it dangle from my hand.

I bought this case for my new Canon SX230HS. Overall the case is pretty decent quality and comes with an adjustable loop strap as well as belt clip. I like the green design on it.

The only minor downside is that my SX230 barely fits. I wish there was only a teeny bit more room, maybe about a quarter of an inch or so to make it easier to tuck the camera strap down inside.

Overall, I am very happy with it and it should do a pretty decent job of protecting my new camera.

It's the first Roocase I have purchased so far, and I am quite happy with it.

My camera bag arrived and although the color was nice, it appeared to have been cheaply made. The size was good (just enough to fit my t2i) but I was disheartened when I noticed the interior completely smelled of a very strong cigarette smoke odor. The seller explained that the odor came from the materials it's made of and that it eventually goes away. I left the bag open for a few days to air out but the smell quickly filled up my bedroom and it was so strong I just couldn't get over it. It smells just like cigarette smoke. I eventually returned it at my own cost and didn't get reimbursed for initial shipping or the return shipping.

I love the size, color, and feel of the case. It seems to do a good job protecting my Canon Rebel T4i, which is the main concern. My only dislike is that my zipper gets stuck on the padding on one side when trying to open the camera portion, so I have to retry several times before I can get it open. Also, it's a bit snug with the neck strap fitting inside, as well, but it does all fit. Overall I think this is a very stylish bag that is convenient for taking with you anywhere.

This backpack is better than the padded backpack used by college students (for carrying heavy textbooks to school). It is far from any standard hiking backpack like JanSport. After I hiked for 4 hours, I started feeling uncomfortable with it because it does not have enough padding on the straps.

Some backpacks put additional room in between your back and the backpack to allow more air flow from the side. This feature is especially useful when the temperature is high. Unfortunately, the air flow in this backpack is very minimal.

[Padding/Protection]

The padding is thick enough to protect my camera gears. However, I haven't tried to drop it, so I don't know what level of protection it will give.

[Tripod]

I have a standard aluminum (light weight) 58" tripod and it is very hard to secure it on the backpack. Since there is no way to secure the tripod, it just keeps falling down. See the pictures I uploaded for details.

[Access]

Comparing to the sling bag (one strap), it is not easy (and fast) to access the gears. However, you don't want to carry a sling bag for a long hike. In my situation, I carry my camera (rather than putting inside the bag) during the hike because I won't miss any special moment.

You will need to put on the "waist belt" in order to access your camera (for the rotations). The belt is just a nylon belt and it may scratch your waist. It is less comfortable comparing to other backpack with gel pad on the belt.

[Durable]

The material is okay comparing to other hiking backpack. The material in the front is a bit fragile. So don't put the backpack directly on the ground/rock. It can get scratched easily.

[Sealing]

This backpack is protected from light rain (without using the rain cover) and dust proof (main body only, as there is a big hole in the side pocket for water host).

[Rain Cover]

While I was hiking in the wood, I hit a rain shower. The rain cover worked very well. Keep in mind that the rain cover only works for medium rain only. While I crossed the river (the water level was at my waist, just a little bit below the backpack), I put my bag inside a dry bag for complete protection.

[Look]

Unlike other camera backpack, this backpack looks more like a regular backpack than a camera backpack, which is good. It gets less attention (crime) than the other popular camera backpacks such as Canon.

[Why this bag earns 5 stars?]

First, this bag does it jobs well, i.e., I can fit most of the essential camera gears and I can carry them to the destination without too much pain. Although the bag is less comfortable than other hiking bags, I think it is okay given that it is designed for carrying camera equipments. Second, it is very roomy and I can customize the pad locations for my own purposes. Although this bag is not perfect, I would say this bag is one of the best you can get with this price in the market today.

Solve the tripod problem.

More padding on the straps (ideally, use gel pad)

I carried this pack on a recent hike up Half Dome and came away very impressed with both the storage capacity and comfort of the pack. I've owned many photo bags over the years, and this one holds its own with the best of them. I will say the flipside functionality seemed a bit gimmicky when this pack is loaded up. Flipping it around your waist to access your gear causes the pack to invert itself, so you really need to stabilize the pack from a bent knee position to avoid spilling your gear everywhere. Maybe I didn't play around with this enough, but I think it's an area that could be improved in future versions by somehow stabilizing the waist strap.

I questioned my sanity lugging all this gear up Half Dome, and was skeptical of the straps -they seemed a bit on the stiff/potentially uncomfortable side for a long hike. But I was pleasantly surprised at how stable and comfortable the pack was throughout the hike/climb. This pack will likely not work for more technical climbs as the waist strap is not padded. It wasn't too uncomfortable, but I alternated throughout the hike wearing the waist strap and not. We also encountered a sudden thunderstorm on a later hike that week, so the built in rain cover proved essential.

I bought this bag for an overseas trip where I will be hiking a bit while taking landscape and other photos with my D800. The lenses and accessories I want to bring fit snugly in this bag and it is comfortable. The waist-band flip-down opening method is really clever and I feel like I can change lenses while standing with no worries of dropping anything. I had been looking for a smallish travel bag for a while and I think my search has ended here. This is a quality bag made of durable high tech materials and it seems to be very protective.

This is the 1st real camera bag I have bought. Choosing one was the most difficult buying choice I ever made. Finally, decided to go with the Flipside. I knew I wanted a backpack because I walk, bike and hike a lot with my gear. I think I made the correct choice for me. It is light and holds my Canon D5 with 16-35mm, 70-300, 24-70, 50mm, Satechi wireless remote a few filters, card reader, memory card holder, rocket blower, and some other items.

Compared to digging in the day pack I used to use, my life is simple. Everything is in its place and I can reach it in seconds. The flipside actually does work if you want to slide the shoulder straps down, and swing the bag around to access your gear without taking the bag off. It is fairly water resistant and the built in rain cover can be installed in seconds to protect the bag from the rain or snow. It appears to be quality made and built to last. It has a great way to store a tripod on the side, and because it is on the side you can get to your gear without having to remove the tripod. That is also a nice useful feature.

What it doesn't have is a lot of pockets or a place to stick a notebook. I ended up deciding that is a good thing because I pack only camera gear in this bag, and will just have to put the other stuff in another bag, so when I grab this bag it has the gear I need to shoot and don't have to remove anything. Might have given it 5 stars but I haven't had it that long and don't have experience with other bags to compare it with.

This case fits the SD200 very well. When the sd200 is in the case, it becomes as thick as an s410 camera (by itself, without a case on). It is pretty stiff so it should protect it from scratches and even mild pressure applied to it. It has a magnetic buckle that snaps into place and snaps off easily. The material feels very good in the hand, and looks very classy. The top flap has a small hole where the wrist strap prong slips through.

The back features a belt loop (not a clasp) for you to slide a belt through, or feed it through a strap (ie a messenger bag) although the latter would be a bad idea as the magnetic clasp on the flap isnt very strong, it could unbuckle pretty easily (as it is meant to do).

the front of the camera is meant to face the front of the case (and the back faces the belt loop). that gives the lcd screen extra protection. it is the only way the sd200 fits in this case (as the strap pront faces the front).

Along the sides, there seems to be a semi rigid insert .. top and bottom. probly plastic or cardboard, under the leather material. this helps prevent the buttons from being depressed, accidentally turning the camera on while in the case.

Fantastic case, looks great, feels great, small.

Downside ... no pocket for a spare battery. There is a tiny slit of a pocket in the case .. but it seems to be made for a sd case.

No Personal Attack is Intended BUT as someone who owns a Red PSC-90 case, I have to point out that Gabriel's review is TOTALLY WRONG !!!! I had actually placed my order with Amazon before reading his review. His review made me worry needlessly. My previous camera was a Canon S410 and now I own a Canon SD200 so I am well aware of their differences in size. All I can say is that his must have been mislabeled or he ordered the wrong bag. It's A CUSTOM FIT TRUST ME. The case is at least an inch shorter than the one for the Canon "S" series (I had the black leather one). Come on peoplethis is Canon we're talking about. They're not going to sell you a bag that's not intended for the specific camera(s). Even the silver Canon label is half the size as the ones intended for the Canon S500.

Finally, it is made from very high quality grade leather and I wasn't sure about the red (in the picture) but in person, it's very striking. The strap is made from the same grade leather. I like the look of the strap but it's unfortunately a bit too stiff. I have reverted back to the original strap but that's my only minor complaint. Granted, I think more women than men will like the RED but I'm so happy not to have another "boring, black leather camera bag". As far as dimensions, I don't need to measure them all I know is that it fits perfectly without any wiggle room ANYWHERE. The leather is also nice and rigid and will last for many years to come. If you have the Canon Sd200/300, get this case WITHOUT A MOMENT'S HESITATION (unless you want a bag to carry your extra accessories as well)! And yes, the other reviewer is correct there's no room for a card (or anything else that matter) but that's exactly what I was looking for. An ultra-compact bag for my ultra-compact camera!

I bought this along with my SD 450 and I love it. This is only a good case if you have an ultracompact camera (like the ones listed in the product title) and want to KEEP it ultracompact. That's why I got it, and if you don't care about ease of shoving your camera in your pocket, then don't bother with this one.

There is obviously no place for anything but the camera, and I don't see an issue with that. If you get a 1GB memory card, that should be all you need. And if you want to keep your camera super portable, then why have a need for an extra battery in your pocket anyway? If you really want that, get a bigger case (probably not the PSC 50 though, which may actually damage your camera).

However, this case is much more stylish than the PSC 50 as the quality is obviously very good, and the very official looking Canon logos on the flap and wrist strap make it look even better. Plus, it's a perfectly snug fit to keep dust, dirt, and scratches from your camera, which to me is the whole point in getting a camera case (i.e. not for extra storage space). I've dropped it on my carpeted floor a couple of times and it has been just fine (then again, I've tripped into a wall with the camera and nothing happened to it at all because it's a Canon). I've only used it for a couple of weeks, but my camera has no blemishes whatsoever and everyone thinks the case looks cute and posh. I definitely like its wriststrap better than the one that came with my camera.

The biggest drawback is that you have to pass the wriststrap through a hole every time you want to take it out, which means that it could take up to 10 seconds for you to get your camera out and then turn it on. I don't know how they could've improved this though, and I like being able to hold it very securely through the case with the strap. Plus, the magnetic button partially makes up for it since it makes it easier to put away. The belt loop on the back can be quite handy as well.

In summary, if you don't mind not having space for extras and you don't mind pushing the strap through the hole on top for removal (though the hole is fairly large), then you definitely won't be disappointed with this. It's especially easy on your wallet. I would still buy a screen protector for your LCD though, because this case can only protect the screen while it's actually in there ;)

Oh, and don't be careless with your screen. If you put the screen in facing the front of the case then it couldn't possibly get scratched by the button.

I looked at this case for my new Canon SD400. Three major problems with the three Canon cases I looked at (Coach, PSC50, PSC90):

1) They attach to your belt with the camera vertical. A horizontal mount is much less intrusive.

2) No room for an extra battery. With no battery life indication on this Canon model I want an extra battery with the camera always.

3) They either are very expensive looking (Coach) or have a metal Canon logo on the front. This is a big sign that says steal me! The metal logo tag is also prone to scratch things.

My previous camera and case was the Canon S330 and the soft case made for it. It had a perfect size pouch for a spare battery and I removed the metal Canon logo. Alas it is no longer available.

I bought the Pentax PTX-L40 for my new Canon SD400. It is a perfect fit in all ways. The embossed Pentax logo is subtle.

What I like most about the case is that it's small, compact, and not as bulky as some Sony and third-party alternatives. The leather looks nice, but a higher quality leather (softer, on the surface) would be much better.

What makes me concern is that the flap button of the case could easily scratch the LCD screen, if you're not careful while pulling the camera out. That's why I give it 3 stars instead of 5.

Overall, a nice concept, but the rather mediocre design and the serious flap button flaw make me not completely happy for having purchased this item.

I purchased the Tamerac 5684 so when I went someware with my camera I would not have to lug my large bag along.

I have a S7000 and a S9000 Fuji which this bag fits to a tee,camera (one at a time ) spare batteries,filters,lens cleaning tools and WhiBal card all fit with roon to spare.

The bag can be carried with the shoulder strap,top handle or belt loops. The bag is very well built and professional looking,a real good value for the price.

I bought this bag for my Canon digital eos xti. It fits very well.

The only con for this bag is that the front buckle can be somewhat cranky sometimes (you have to slide it in just so or it won't click) and I'm worried about it breaking. Even if the buckle does break, my camera will still be safe because there is a zipper around the pocket, but sometimes it's nice to let the camera bag just hang from the camera strap rather than using the longer bag strap.

It fits a 300 mm zoom lens, so it can accommodate a pretty good range. You just have to choose which lens you want to bring with you and leave it attached.

It is small enough that you don't feel conspicuous lugging it around, but it does protect the camera well. Pockets fit uv lens filter, batteries, memory cards, usb cable. No space for extra lenses. It's a great bag for travel.

I have a new Canon 40D dSLR. I don't want my baby banged up, and I have a good assortment of backpacks and shoulder bags. I wanted a discrete option, and this is it.

I saw this in a Ritz Camera store for $50, but the sales people were so rude my wife refused to let me buy ot there. So I saved about $18 overall by buying at amazon.

It fits the 40D, but only without an extra battery extrension. It also, thankfully, fits that body with the Canon 28-235 zoom!

But let me tell you, this is a nicely thought out bag. For one thing, I would honestly, intentionally, drop my camera from a table inside this bag with confidence. THe padding is (uncompressed) over 1/2".amd probably more like 5/8" in _ALL_ directions-including the top. THe cover has both a zipper and a snap, so you can leave it unzipped (yet snapped) for fast draw!

the 40D fits in there liek it was made to with _zero_ slop. THe side and front pockets are nicely done, and the whole thing has a great quality feel to it. The fabric seems especially tough. There is a dainty shoulder strap and top carrying handle (for who???), but the good stuff is the built in dual belt loops.

True, the 40D with a lens is not an insignificant thing in the weight department, but it is bearable even on the belt.

I labored over which bag would be just small enough to hold the 40D frame, and this was the one. How did I know? I had to bring the camera to a local, snobby store for a size fit, then come to Amazon for the bext deal!

I wanted to chime in on how psyched I am on this bag. I bought it for $12 more at a local camera shop and couldn't be happier with it. Tons of room (but not bulky) for extra supplies, and it gives you a real feeling of security that you're protected from sand and moisture... and, if you're a spaz like me, minor drops. Highly recommended.

ive got a nikon d90. i bought the kit, with the body / lens. i think its the 18-105 lens. it takes great pictures and does exactly what i want it to.

i wanted a bag that was small, just big enough to hold the camera. i dont haul around extra lens, or a flash or any of that stuff. i just want the camera with a lens, a couple of memory cards and a cloth to clean the lens off. i wanted a small bag because i do alot of traveling on my motorcycle and there isnt alot of room in the saddlebag, so small equals good.

this bag is perfect for that. the D90 is snug in the bag, but it fits perfectly. the shoulder strap on the bag is nice. plenty long, but i dont use it. and usually just leave it at home. the bag holds the camera until i get somewhere, then i have it on me. the bag stays in the saddlebag. it probably gets lonely in there, but i dont care, cuz its just a bag.

the quality of the bag is great. plenty of padding and room for the stuff i mentioned above.

id buy another, and infact might just do that. i want a battery pack for my camera and if i get one ill have to step up to a bigger bag. but for right now this one is perfect.

I was looking for a small case for my LX3 and this one works. It is snug but the camera fits easily. I tried another case from Amazon that stated it fit the LX3 but while the camera would fit it was too tight and inconvient to remove. The LX3 extends so it requires a wider/taller case.

this item is perfectly sized for our Samsung Galaxy SII that he hashe does not like the cases that cover or clamp on the back sides of phones and wants to put the phone in his pocket this case fits the phone and protects it from dropping which he does occasionally.

Review of Lowepro Pro Trekker 400 AW Backpack

A nice backpack that holds my Nikon 200-400mm with D700 attached. It also holds another camera body, a 70-200mm lens, a 24-70mm lens, a flash, teleconverter, lots of compartments for spare CF cards, and three tripods, with room for more lenses and goodies. It holds almost everything camera related in the main compartment's Velcro-adjustable pockets.

What is really remarkable for a backpack this large is what it won't hold. It won't hold my laptop. The literature states that it will hold a 15.4" widescreen laptop in the sleeve. (Specifically 10.2W X 1D X 15.2H in.) My laptop measures 14" x 10" which, despite Lowepro's literature, is exactly the outside dimensions of the sleeve. It won't hold the laptop. The sleeve fits tightly into a pocket on the 400's back cover. The laptop won't fit in the pocket with or without the sleeve. I have a Thinkpad W500. The newest 15" MacBook Pro measures the same. It probably won't hold that either. My Lowepro Fastpack 350, a much smaller backpack, has ample room to hold the laptop.

The 400 AW is also short on storage options for pens, a flashlight, earplugs, iPod, and the kinds of things you would want when you check into a flight. It will hold those items, just not all in one convenient space like other Lowepro backpacks. It does have nice compartments for airline tickets, passports, books, and other flat items. Forget about packing a windbreaker, unless you store it with the lenses.

One of the storage options is a removable fanny pack on top of the 400. This is the only spot large enough to place a sandwich (outside of the lens compartment.) But you wouldn't want to put a bag of potato chips in there. They would get crushed. The fanny pack is physically large but only has two zippered compartments and doesn't offer much space for anything thicker than a paperback. It is somewhat heavy and has an extremely over-sized belt and clasp. You can detach the fanny pack and leave it behind, making the AW 400 smaller. But then you lose some storage space. You would never buy a fanny pack like this if it were offered separately.

This is an odd backpack. Loads of room for big lenses and tripods, but some of the features you'd want on an excursion or flight have been overlooked. (The Fastpack 350 has Velcro pockets designed to hold glasses, slots specifically for pens, etc.) The AW 400 is highly recommended if you have a 14" or smaller laptop, or none at all. The number of storage options for small items, while not centralized or well thought out, do suffice.

Bottom line: Great bag for traveling with your 400mm kit. For 15" laptop owners, Lowepro just barely missed the boat, but miss it they did.

I travel often, and I wanted a camera backpack that could hold all my gear but still be small enough to carry on an airplane. The Trekker 400 AW is certainly big enough to hold my Canon 5D, 100-400mm lens, my four other lenses and two flashes and still have room for the other small items one might like to bring on an airplane. It is at the upper limit of carry-on restrictions and not likely to fit on the overhead bin of smaller commuter aircraft.

The bag is well-made and looks like it will give good protection to my photo gear. The water-resistant zippers and the all-weather cover appear sufficient to protect the contents from heavy rain. The bag does not look like a camera bag, and may not draw the immediate attention of thieves. The outside of the bag has a sleeve for a laptop computer and a padded case, but the laptop is not as well protected as items inside the main compartment of the bag.

The harness has lots of adjustments and is very comfortable, even when the bag is loaded. It tempts me to bring all my stuff on weekend walks with my dog in the local forests.

You can carry a tripod on the side or on the back of the bag. The tripod sits securely and is easy to attach or remove. The right side of the bag has a pocket for carrying a water bladder with drinking tube, which is nice.

The bag does not offer quick access to your camera. You have to set it down, release one or more strap buckles, and unzip the stiff weather-resistant zippers to get at what's in the bag. By then your Ivory Billed Woodpecker has flown away. There are not a lot of outside pockets, and if you carry a tripod on one side, it blocks access to that side pocket. If you have a water bladder on the other side, it takes up that pocket.

Summary:

Recommended for travel with large quantities of photo gear.

Recommended for hiking with large quantities of photo gear.

Recommended for hiking with camera gear in rainy weather.

Not ideal for daily use.

Best Deals for Lowepro Pro Trekker 400 AW Backpack

I've had the AW Pro Trekker II for years. Nice quality bag, but it has too many cords and belts and buckles, and the waist belt is totally superfluous and gets in the way. I used it once, on a month long trip, and then stuck it in my closet and ended up using a smaller bag from Delsey, that has the advantage of being simple and light, instead. If I needed to carry a lot of stuff, I used a Tamrac Pro 12, and just carried my tripod as an extra, which actually was more convenient than dealing with the annoyance of all those cords and buckles and things on the Pro Trekker II.

When these came out I was cautiously optimistic based on the pictures, and finally decided to take the plunge and get one. And it's a huge improvement. If nothing else, the ability to remove the waist belt makes it worth paying the (admittedly somewhat steep) price.

But there are other advantages as well: the sleeve system for carrying tripods and water and a long lens is better than the one they used for the Pro Trekker II. Not so many cords to get snagged on tree limbs and the like, and if you aren't using one of the sleeves it isn't in the way of everything else, which did happen with the cords on the Pro Trekker II. The tripod holder is actually pretty ingenious: they have a zippered pocket that contains the holder for the feet. Just unzip it and pull it out, stick your tripod's feet in it, and you're done. No cords to tighten or anything (you have to see this to know what I'm talking about here, but trust me, it's a nice system). It's only available on the middle holder, but that's where I like carrying my tripod, anyway. It also has more space for organizing things like your cell phone, MP3 player, and the like, which the Pro Trekker II lacked.

Cons: It doesn't carry quite as much camera gear as you'd expect. I get about as much in this as I get in the Pro Trekker II, although this is a somewhat larger bag. I haven't tried carrying a computer in the bag when it's loaded with gear, which is a good thing, because I don't think it would all fit. The waist pack is small and of limited use, and has to be moved out of the way before you can open the main compartment. The computer sleeve doesn't hold either of my 15 inch laptops, from two different manufacturers, but I have my own sleeve, and the computer compartment on the backpack does have enough room to hold it and either laptop (why their sleeve is too small, given the extra space on the backpack itself, is a mystery to me). There are still a lot of things to unzip and move around when you're getting at your gear -this is not something you're going to take for a short hike where you might want to take some pictures on the side. It's a very purposed bag for someone who plans on a photo-centric trip in the wild. And for that task, it's just about perfect.

The size and design are good but could be better.

The structure is too weak for a professional class camera back pack. Especially weak are the partitions inside. I have tried to reinforce them but this attempt stopped at the quality of the inner walls. They get stretched downward, pulled by the weight of heavy items, too much. The product is not suitable for carrying heavy, professional cameras and lenses for an extended period of time.

I have tried many different products in the same class. Pro Treck 400 comes closer to my expectations than others but is far off when it comes to the ideal camera back pack for rugged environments.

I am going to agree with the other reviewers here in that this backpack will hold everything but that every isn't very accessible in a hurry. I have my Dell Mini 10 netbook, my Canon 5D Mark II, 24-105mm lens, 70-200mm lens, 17-35mm lens, 50mm lens, two flashes and a bunch of accessories and still have plenty of room. It is very comfortable to wear even full of gear. The shoulder straps are extremely well padded as well as the waist strap. If you're a traveler, a hiker, a camper, or plan on doing a lot of shooting outdoors this is the backpack for you. But just know that shooting a mountain will be a lot easier and faster than shooting the aliens landing. If you want to carry your camera outside the backpack for those quick shots I'd recommend getting a Black Rapid strap. Overall I love this backpack, it is comfy and well built. If you need your gear really fast this is not the backpack for you, but if you are an avid outdoor person or you travel a lot I'd recommend it.
