I bought this case sight unseen, as I needed a relatively inexpensive and yet durable case for my digital camera for an upcoming mountain biking trip. I must admit to being slightly disappointed in that this is not all that was promised in the description of the product. In the description it clearly says that this case features an "All Weather Cover for "challenging" weather." The zipper when closed does not look like it will keep rain out should you be caught in a downpour. However, there is a cover which comes out of the bottom of the bag which is supposed to be employed for the harshest weather, but I am not 100% certain that in a deluge some water would not get in anyway. I have been in harsh rains, and I would not entirely trust this to keep all rain out from my digital camera. A minor disappointment, but one nonetheless. [See UPDATE at bottom]

My second disappointment came with the shoulder straps......they attach via plastic hooks which look like they could easily break. I will be taking my camera biking with me and I do not want it flying off my shoulder at 30 miles per hour, so this is somewhat of a concern. As such, the plastic shoulder attachments do not exactly inspire confidence in me. [This is still a minor concern]

Got this for my Cyber-shot camera for hiking and camping trips.

Was surprised to find it was even roomy enough for the new HD camcorders, obviously not to hold both.

The adjustable velcro loops came in handy to tie the case to other backpacking gear, rather than have it hanging from my neck or shoulder.

Lowepro is so good with camera gear.

Bought this bag for the Canon 570is. Fits fine plus two AA's and SD card. Even with the camera and all this it is a small, light package. Cannot carry camera instructions in bag but not necessary for me.

Too light to carry as a shoulder strapped bag. It can flip off your shoulder. Carry this camera bag in larger bag or purse. Bag will fit in my glove compartment or travel pack or golf bag. If you want to carry instructions, battery charger etc get a bigger bag. On trips I will carry those separately. Think of this as a day use camea bag.

Lowe makes good camera bags this camera to simply too small and light to carry as a shoulder bag. Will find a simple handle that would attach instead of shoulder strap. Perhaps like the one on the camera.

I purchased the D-Res 10AW bag for my then-new Olympus D460 Zoom. Cordova, AK experiences more than 160 inches of rain annually so "all-weather" is important. This series has a hidden nylon rain poncho that can be pulled out from the belt slide side of the bag, around the bottom and up over the top for nearly complete rain coverage. It's well padded with room for additional memory cards and a spare set of 4 AA batteries (NiMH, of course). I pack this camera nearly everywhere, and the case strap and belt slide have yet to let me down. If you have any doubts, know that this is the company that was started by a mountaineer, designing and building climbing packs.

Best Lowepro Nova 3 AW Camera Bag -Black Deals

I can't comment on the other Nova bags, but the Nova 3 has a very rugged strap attachment. It's a metal D-ring and a metal clasp. Zoom in on the photo and you can see it. Overall, this bag is very well constructed and has lots of adjustable internal dividers to customize it for your equipment. It may be larger than you need for a small camera, but I think it's just the right size for my DSLR (Pentax K10D) plus battery charger, cables, and a short telephoto. There is still room for one or two additional lenses or an external flash. Overall, a good buy.

Looking for a small bag for your SLR? Well I'd suggest a Nova 1 bag instead, as this will be too much for your uses.

Looking for a large bag for two or more SLRs? Well this bag is too small.

If you however have a SLR, 2-3 lenses and a flash, it's just right. I carry my Nikon D70s (with a battery grip attached), 18-70, 70-300VR, and 50mm lenses as well as a SB600 flash in this bag. Any of the three lenses can be attached, and the other two can go along for the ride. The flash cannot fit attached to the camera, but it fits when you disconnect it. I even can throw in the AC adapter, extra batteries, extra compact flash cards, and a memory reader. All of this fits with the top securely zipped shut. The whole setup is a rather large and heavy affair, but it works well as a carry on. It seals well, so it's very weatherproof as is, but there is a raincoat thats stowed in the bottom that covers it even better (I don't think I want to be in a rainstorm that necessitates that). The one thing that can be an issue is that this bag is too much if you're just taking a camera and one lens. I still have a Nova 1, which serves this function well, and the dividers that came with the Nova 1 came in handy, as this bags allotment was sufficient for most uses, but not mine.

Don't let the 4 star rating fool you. This is a really well-constructed camera bag with lots of room for storage, but may be too much for the amateur photographer that may not be carrying multiple lens and several catridges of 35 mmm film. I bought this for my wife to hold her Canon EOS XT and it does a dandy job of it but is really too bulky for traveling. It went with us to Hawaii but was too difficult to carry around when sightseeing and taking pictures (not to mention having it as a carry-on when flying). In it I was carry an extra battery, battery charger, several extra flash cards, and that's about it. I ended up getting a Lowepro Topload Zoom1 Camera Bag after this bag and it has been fantastic for my needs. It was much easier to travel with and enough room to carry what I needed.

Initially I was looking for a separate bag for my Nikon D40 and my Panasonic SDR-H18 video cam. I saw a Nova 2AW at the store and I thought it was good enough for both cameras to fit in. But then I have another zoom lens that I need to carry with me. The Nova 3AW is just perfect for my gears. I can fit those three with one more room to spare for another lens. It was really designed for bigger DSLR but I was able to secure the D40 just fine with the included dividers. It's got plenty of pockets too for extra batteries, chargers and cleaning accessories. There's also a room for my Elph. The two side pockets are also handy for my cellphone and pocket books or map. There's also a pocket in the back for other stuff. So basically, here's what I was able to fit in the bag:

1 Nikon D40 w/ 55mm attached

1 compact video camera

1 200mm lens

1 digital compact camera

3 chargers and cables

3 spare batteries for each camera

The bag is also designed to be used as a waist belt bag but I thought it's a little big for this purpose. I also like the plastic lock in the front because I can secure the bag without closing the zipper for the cap-like cover. Overall, I am very satisfied with this bag and I highly recommend it to someone wanting to use it for their DSLR and video camera.

For it's price, I'm very pleased. This obviously wont stand as a lowepro backpack but it's very well constructed. Has many zippers (two hiding beneath the orange flaps you see in the photo, which are net fabric pockets). Pads could be a bit thicker but then again, at 20 bucks, it delivers. I can hold 3 lenses, flash, a body and the bat charger comfortably. Agree with the other review, an additional strap would be useful.

The bag is rather spacy and flexible, when it comes to re-arranging the compartments/dividers.

Unfortunately, the zipper is rather weak and often opens at the bottom, making it a risk for equipment to fall out. An additional strap is advised.

This is one of the better (the best?) looking cases for cybershot cameras. Unfortunately the weak magnetic latch mechanism isn't something that can be relied upon to prevent your camera from hurtling towards the concrete. Don't trust it (hasn't happened to me but easily could), make sure you hold the case upright and with the caution. Also, there is no belt loop or other means to attach this case to anything else. So effectively what this case does is for me is sit inside another case which holds my extra memory, battery, etc. Not exactly the use I had in mind. It's a bit too bulky to fit inside your pocket without looking awkward. It is decently padded inside, but the weak latch is really a potential problem.

All in all I would not recommend this case unless the issues above aren't important to you and aesthetic considerations are your only concern. I suggest buying one of those hideous nylon cases which may look bulky and dorky but at least will do the simple job they where designed for.

Oh yeah, no pockets or sleeves for anything else in this case, not even a tiny extra memory card or anything. A functionally bad design all things considered.

The magnet is small and does not catch. My camera slides right out, the weight of the camera is too heavy for the strength of the magnet. I am planning on returning this and getting a different case.

I am a habitual review reader before buying online. At first I was a bit skeptical of purchasing this case because of the mixed reviews but am so happy I gave it a try! This is a fantastic case that fits my Sony Cybershot PERFECTLY! Not too big/loose but not too snug either. The style is great...very sleek with quality leather and durable fastening. If you're looking for an inconspicuous way to carry your camera gear, the F-800 line has your bag. They have the same gadgets and customizable camera storage systems you would expect in any other camera bag, but they hide it all behind the charming low-key style of an everyday canvas satchel. They're well made, well organized, and they look better than anything else on the market. This large size F-833, however, might be a little too big. I haven't seen the small and medium (F-831 and F-832 respectively) in person, but I can say from experience that the large (F-833) is ridiculously big. It can hold and organize a stunning amount of stuff, but it looks awkward when you put it on. The point of a messenger style bag is so you can casually walk down the street carrying thousands of dollars in camera equipment without anyone knowing. Then, if you want to take a picture you can spin the bag in front of you, whip it open and grab your camera. Because of its absurdly large size however, spinning a loaded F-833 is out of the question, and finding your camera amongst your 5 lenses, two flashes, and every other nicknack will take a decade. (Paradoxically, if you don't have the F-833 fully loaded, finding your camera isn't any easier since you'll have to search through a pile of excessive padding.) The messenger style is way better suited for carrying an afternoon's worth of shooting stuff, not your whole collection. If you need to carry the amount of stuff this bag can hold then you probably shouldnt get this bag. A backpack will handle the weight of all that equipment much more gracefully.

I'm not sure what the other reviewer was smoking but this case fits the Canon G10 PERFECTLY. Leather is sometimes a little stiff when it is new, so maybe that was their problem. Every professional photographer knows that you do not want a camera to fit loosely in a case, because whenever it moves around (even a little) it causes friction, and friction ALWAYS causes wear and tear. In any event this case is well made. There is a loop on the back of it so that you can wear it on your belt if you want. This would come in handy on vacations. The cases lid is held on by TWO forms, one is a standard snap closure, and the second is a magnetic action so that the snap doesn't accidentally come undone. The entire inside of the case is finished in very fine and smooth suede. Stitching is very nice and in some places it is even double stitched. There are recesses on each side of the case (around where the camera straps would be) so that you can easily grab the camera to remove it from the case. If you own a G10 then you will definitely want to own this case, even if you have another camera case with all of your other gear. You've probably spent a lot of money on your Canon G10, and this case is made to protect it from any wear, and that's a job that is does very well.

This leather case is everything that I wanted it to be!!! I was looking a streamlined case to protect my G10 while I carry it around in my purse. I was looking for something as compact as possible yet still protective. This case fits the bill perfectly. I have a larger case that I use to store my extras and accessories in, but wanted a separate compact one just for my camera. It is extremely well made and very sturdy and I love the look!!! I like that there is openings on the sides of the case for the neck straps to come out, it makes it very easy to carry the camera. I have no use for the belt loop. As the other reviewers have mentioned there is no additional storage space in this case for extra batteries or memory cards, this case will only fit your camera, so if extra space is important to you then chose another case. This case is a real disappointment.

The biggest problem is that the camera fits too snugly and it is difficult to get out of the case. One of the reasons that I bought a G10 was because I wanted to be able to take pictures quickly and inconspicuously. I did not expect that Canon's case would require a struggle to remove the camera.

Another drawback is that the case does not have a strap of it's own. It does have a small loop which is presumably meant to go around the G10 strap. That doesn't work too well because the loop fits too snugly (again) around the G10 strap. Therefore, once you extract the camera you now have a bulky case jammed up against the side of the camera impeding it's use. The loop is too small for the case to easily slide away from the camera.

This case was not cheap at $30. I was expecting more.

Other comments:

There is no sleeve or storage pocket for cards, lens paper, etc.

The case is compact, nice looking and great for minimal protection while transporting the camera. It just is not at all functional as a case to be used while shooting.

I feel there must be a better case out there. My seach continues...

This thing is so customizable that I've rearranged the compartments half a dozen times! I store a camcorder, a point/shoot camera, and all the paraphernalia that goes with them in this bag without difficulty. 2 chargers, a few batteries, lens kit, mini tripod-adds up!

I did have an issue with the windowed pockets though, having small things slip out the top when the flap is open fully and leaning down toward the table. I solved the problem by cutting thin strips of sticky back Velcro and putting them across the top edge.

I am glad I chose this size, rather than the smaller one. OP/TECH USA did good!

I also have the 8" version of this pack which I also like a great deal but I bought this to get more room for my flash triggers and extra cables. The smaller version is being used to store a number of different batteries and other miscellaneous parts I use for lighting. It would be better if this was at least another 1/2-3/4" deep. Like the other minus a star for having this made in China, all of there other gear is made in Montana.

I was looking to get a Denali Camera Case like one I purchased a few years ago. The one I have has a zipper closure on the top and is nicely padded all around. The closest thing I could find from Denali was this model. When it was delivered, I discovered it is larger than the case I had, though measurements given would have indicated it to be the same size as the older model. The larger size is a plus, as is the small zippered pocket in the front. The belt loop in the back is sturdily made and handy to have. The top is secured with a quick-release clasp I would have preferred to have the top close with a zipper instead, and there is no padding in this case to protect the contents. But all-in-all, this is a very satisfactory purchase and meets my needs. I would have given this 5 stars if the case would have been padded.

The Lowepro Fastpack 100 is a great walk-around camera bag. Although some people have given this bag a few bad reviews, there is a fine line between size with the fastpack series, and if you need something larger, don't buy the Fastpack 100 model and expect it to accomodate your camera body and all of your telephoto lenses.

Having said that, this bag was perfect for me. I never take all of my lenses with me, unless I am traveling, and the Lowepro Fastpack 100 is certainly no travel bag. With a little additional room to spare, I can comfortably fit my Nikon D60 with older 35mm f/2.5 lens attached, as well as the 18-55mm kit lens, and a 50mm f/1.8 pancake lens. And although I mentioned that this is not a travel bag, many accessories including a battery charger, power cord, USB cable, extra battery and pop-up flash diffuser can fit into the camera compartment alone. Elsewhere, I can pack my camera's body cap, complete cleaning kit (with cloth, lens cleaning solution, blower and brush), four SD cards and camera manual into the top compartment. There is even room for a sandwich, handkerchief or back-up point&shoot camera. A side-pouch with netting is the perfect place to store a water bottle or thermos, and I'm not necessarily referring to the tiny average-sized water bottle, either.

As far as comfort goes, this bag is top of the line. I hardly notice I'm wearing it, even when it's home to all of the items mentioned above. There's also a convenient velcro cellphone pouch on one strap, which allows my phone a better and more consistent signal than when in my pocketa neat touch. The bag is light and provides more freedom of movement than a shoulder bag or even a camera holster. I have broad, somewhat-sloping shoulders, and most of the backpacks I have tried in the past slip over either shoulder. This does not seem to be a problem with the Fastpack. And accessing your camera is as easy as slipping the bag from one shoulder, and bringing it up to your chest. (See the video above the image description, on the product page) The Lowepro Fastpack 100 provides great protection for your camera. The padded dividers and walls in and around the camera compartment are very sturdy and I have no doubt in my mind that they'd be more than sufficient in protecting my gear if the bag was dropped from a height of ten feet or more.

All in all, this is a great walk-around camera bag that can easily store a camera with attached kit lens, with additional room for two primes or a medium-sized telephoto, and countless smaller accessories. If you only carry two or three lens with you, and already have a larger bag for organizing all your gear, then this is the bag to go with.

This bag has all the necessary functions but it is very small. In the bottom compartment it can fit my Nikon D40 with an 18-55 or 55-200 attached and the other next to it. It can also fit my Digita Foci storage device. If you have any more equipment that this, this is not the bag for you. The top is very small and is a day pack at very best. Excellent quality.

Best Deals for Lowepro Fastpack 100 -Red

The Fastpack 100 is the smallest of Lowepro's Fastpack series. I like the small size for long walks around town. The Fastpack 100 is significantly smaller than the Fastpack 200, so I do not have to worry about bumping in to people on the sidewalk or when standing in a bus. My Nikon D40 with 18-200 zoom lens fits fine in the camera compartment and there is an additional padded pocket for a flash or second lens. If you're carrying more lenses, you should get of the bigger Fastpack bags.

The top compartment of this pack holds extra supplies (or lunch or a guidebook). My only complaint is that the water bottle pocket is too short and too snug for a 1 liter water bottle. The bigger Fastpacks have a bigger and more flexible water bottle pocket. A 1 pint water bottle will fit in the pocket pretty well.

This is a great bag. I have a D40X with two lenses and everything fits in the bottom of this bag. Including the charger and other small accessories. The top of the bag is then available for other items for the day. I love that you don't have to take the bag off completely to access the camera. I found the larger Fastpack too huge/bulky (and hated the integrated waist belt, which is non-removable!) so I returned it and ordered the 100 instead. The high sticker price aside, much better -it's small & light yet rugged, fits my Pentax SLR plus an extra lens (with some room still to spare), and the upper compartment is perfect for a wallet and whatever extras. The side-mounted elastic pouch is *very* tight for a water bottle, but you can jam one it (what were they thinking?). I wish it provided an extra compartment for a small netbook on the back (like the bigger models), but I realize most people wouldn't probably need it. Overall, if you don't have much gear, I'd say the 100 is (almost) spot-on.

These are the best cases for my Nion Lenses and they do provide the level of protection within my camera bag(s). I still use the hard leather Nikon Lense cases, (when you can find them) but, these really do the job for me, and they are very durable!!
