The case is very nice but it is a little bulky for my Rebel SL1. There are gaps at the crossover points between the case body and the lens portion of the case that will allow dust to entry the case. Other camera cases I have had were much more form fitting to the camera. I like the fact that the body portion of the case fits securely and can be mounted on a tripod without having to remove the case. All in all it is a pretty good deal.

I was looking for a shoulder bag I could work out of comfortably when shooting events. I wanted something that could distribute its weight around the waist if needed, but didn't look like a huge fanny pack. I needed it to fit a gripped DSLR, flash and 4-6 prime lenses. Over the years, I've collected a closet full of bags from Crumpler, LowePro and Tamrac. The Think Tank Speed Racer V2.0 seems to have bested them all and exceeded my needs and wants. Thanks for taking the time to read this review. Hopefully, you find it helpful.

PROS:

* Shoulder Strap WOW! The shoulder strap is the best I've seen. It is well padded and super comfy.

* Waist Strap It distributes the weight well and tilts the bag at a perfect angle to work out of. The buckles and slip stops are top notch. The padding against your body is vented and more than enough. Also, there are spots to attach some of Think Tanks modular belt system pieces. I might consider this at some point, but for now this bag holds more than enough.

* Padding Think Tank just gets this part right. The case is well framed and gives you a lot of confidence when tossing your gear into a trunk or on the ground.

* Organized It includes a ton of padded Velcro dividers to help you organize your gear how you want it. Something that's really cool is that the dividers have an extra piece of Velcro on them so you can fold the Velcro tabs over and use them as just extra padding. Nice touch!

* Front Pocket Brilliantly organized and superbly designed.

* Side Pouches Great for stuffing in snack bars and a canteen. They're made of a heavy-weight mesh with rip-stop bottoms; about 7 inches deep. There is an adjustable synch cord at the top of the pocket to keep everything inside.

* Top Handle Placed where it works best and makes the grab-and-go carry easy.

CONS:

* Main Zipper It's super meaty and kind of hard to unzip when you are wearing it as a shoulder bag. The shoulder strap loops get in the way. This isn't such a bad thing, and when you wear it with just the belt, it leans the bag away from your body enough to make unzipping easier. My solution is just leave it unzipped when I'm working no matter how I wear it.

* Price As I tell my clients when asked about competitor pricing, "People know what their product is worth and charge accordingly." You get what you pay for and it is so worth the investment. Just buy this bag, you'll love it!

WHAT I CARRY:

Some people just love peeping into another photographer's bag. So, if you were wondering what I fit and carry when I use it, here's the list. I typically do not carry all of these lenses, but when I do, it weighs in at a comfortable 12-15 pounds fully loaded with camera. Keep in mind that when I work out of it, the camera and one lens is in a my B-Grip belt holster. (FYI: I am 6'3", 175lbs, with a 33" waist.)

* Camera: Canon 7D gripped, extra batteries, CF cards

* Lenses: Rokinon 8mm Fisheye, Tokina 11-16, Canon 28mm, 60mm Macro, 85mm, 135mm (all with hoods reversed)

* Flash: Canon 430ex II, Sto-fen, Strobist gel pack, extra AA batteries

* Misc: Sekonic L-308s light meter, YongNuo RF-602's, LensPens, Color Checker, water flask

"ORIGINAL VERSION" VERSUS "V2.0"

So why spend $179 on the Speed Racer V2.0 when Amazon is currently selling the first version for $128 USD (while supplies last)? Since I did not own the original, I searched the internet forums to find an answer. The major upgrades have been to materials and design, but they are very similar.

Some of the improvements that I saw are: The waist belt tucks neatly into the sides now, into a zippered compartment, as opposed to the older version that tucks into the padding side that faces the wearer. This makes the V2.0 slightly slimmer in profile when stowed. And they added a large pocket behind the back padding. The side pouches are a tougher mesh with rip-stop bottoms and the hidden side pockets have been removed. Some of the hardware (zipper pulls, waist belt buckles and slip-stops) have been improved. The front compartment has been redesigned for more organization and ease of access.

So is all this worth the extra $50? To me, a slimmer profile means easier to carry, so yes.

I also own the Think Tank StreetWalker HardDrive backpack. Based on these two purchases, Think Tank is money well spent, and IMHO the best bang for the buck. Feel free to ask any questions you might have. Thanks for reading!

Like many working portrait and wedding photographers, I have a few specific bag requirements:

* it must hold three lenses (one of which is a 70-200mm f/2.8 tele), a mounted pro body (with vertical grip), and two speedlights.

* I must be able to work out of it easily: everything should be accessible without too much wriggling, twisting, zipping, prodding.

* It must offer some impact and climate protection

* It should look professional and help convey professionalism--so, not overly "techy," not overly styled.

I looked long and hard, but I honestly couldn't find another bag to meet these needs. I thought about the "Boda," but there's no room for speedlights or your camera body. I thought about various Tamrac, LowePro, and Kata "sling" bags, but all of the reasonable-sized options only have room for one speedlight, and many of them have such an "overstated" attention-seeking look.

But the Speed Racer is perfection. It's tough. It's basic, sleek, svelte black. It's the perfect size to hold three lenses, a body, and two speedlights. It's built with so many thoughtful design touches that make working out of it such a pleasure. The top, for example, flops up and out of your way for easy lens changes; and flops back in place with a tiny "flick" of your wrist. It's got a seam-sealed raincover that's a snap to put on. The strap is deeply padded and comfortable for all-day work.

It holds my Canon 5D Mark II with battery grip, Canon 70-200 f2.8L Zoom Lens, and Canon EX580II Speedlite in the main compartment separated by the velcro inserts, and has two stretchable side pockets, several accessory pockets on the interior, front, and sides still available for filters, memory cards, and other accessories. The two parts of the very comfortable waist belt with loops for modular accessories fit so discretely into the two "hidden" side pockets that I thought they were missing! I did have another bag for the 500mm lens, but it did not hold as much extra stuff as this bag. For airplane travel with a big lens, this is the bag you need.

I purchased this backpack to haul a significant amount of video and audio gear into the field.

This pack is huge and it will carry nearly all my gear. With clever packing, I can haul my lenses, large sensor video cam, filters, matte box, extra batteries, audio and misc support equipment all in one bag. The pack is very well made, easily handles a heavy load and is comfortable while carrying the load. Because it is such a large bag, it is not an everyday bag or for traveling light. It really shines when you need to haul a lot gear.

If you think this might be too large for you, certainly consider one of the smaller Tamrac bags in the expedition series. They are very well made and come in a range of sizes. You should easily find a size that suits your needs.

I would recommend this bag or one of the smaller bags in this series to a friend.

bought this product regardless of what the previous reviews are. I got this item today and i have put it on my helmet. Works pretty well and stable, and i like it!, i don't know why people are saying that this is not working, so i decided to post a video on how to install it. The reason why i gave it a 4 star is because my top helmet was pointed not curved, but what i did was i just tighten it up a lil' more so that it would hold the camera better.

this is a great item for curved vented bike helmet and also good for pointed helmet like mine.

The GoPro Vented Helmet Strap is lightweight, tight, and does exactly what it's supposed to do. You thread the straps through the loops of your helmet, tighten the straps and clamp, and then attach the camera. I mountain bike over rough terrain and I've never had a problem with the straps getting loose at all. I don't even take off the straps when I'm not using the camera as it doesn't even feel like it's there.

Where on your helmet that you can put the straps through depends on where your vents are. I recommend that you tilt your camera down just a tad because otherwise you'll be looking at mostly sky. It helps to have someone else check the angling of your camera while you ride, or to check with the LCD bacopac. I've also done videos with the camera facing backwards for some cool backwards shots.

This strap is just as advertised, a mounting strap for a the Gopro HD camera. Its a mounting plate with thick foam backing and two straps that secure with some cam release buckles. It mounts securely to my Fox Flux helmet and you can use it to secure camera to a small tree for doing trail shots.

I bike daily to work. I have gopro 3 black. Some days are so beautiful that you have to record your ride. This one is the best, you can strap it really tight to helmet. the camera stays steady. just dont forget to put the straps inside the helmet before your ride. else it will keep on flapping and the sound is annoying when recorded..lol

This is one of the better (the best?) looking cases for cybershot cameras. Unfortunately the weak magnetic latch mechanism isn't something that can be relied upon to prevent your camera from hurtling towards the concrete. Don't trust it (hasn't happened to me but easily could), make sure you hold the case upright and with the caution. Also, there is no belt loop or other means to attach this case to anything else. So effectively what this case does is for me is sit inside another case which holds my extra memory, battery, etc. Not exactly the use I had in mind. It's a bit too bulky to fit inside your pocket without looking awkward. It is decently padded inside, but the weak latch is really a potential problem.

All in all I would not recommend this case unless the issues above aren't important to you and aesthetic considerations are your only concern. I suggest buying one of those hideous nylon cases which may look bulky and dorky but at least will do the simple job they where designed for.

Oh yeah, no pockets or sleeves for anything else in this case, not even a tiny extra memory card or anything. A functionally bad design all things considered.

The magnet is small and does not catch. My camera slides right out, the weight of the camera is too heavy for the strength of the magnet. I am planning on returning this and getting a different case.

I purchased this item to have a place to store my camera covertly when it wasn't around my wrist. It is perfect for my camera. I have an olympus tough 800 which fits perfectly. I just let the wrist strap hang out from the end. It looks like a cell phone holder when worn on a belt. I think it is expecially usefull when the lens cover is open and you want access for a quick photo. The magnetic closure is nice and quiet. I have only had one instance of it opening when I didn't want to and that was when the seatbelt caught it while exiting my vehicle. However, that being said you don't have to worry about the velcro sound. And when walking around a store you don't have people wondering why you have a camera around your wrist. One thing I would add not specifically related to this product would be to purchase the Olympus 202316 Water-Ready Adjustable Strap. it doesn't add much bulk when compared to the chinchy (sp?) factory supplied strap. It holds up to sweat and water if you have one of the Waterproof/resistant units. It should not be confused with the floatable strap which is another item. I digress, but The Case is an excellent buy and I highly recommend it. I haven't written many reviews in the past, but since I rely on them I thought I would start. Hope this was useful to you.

My camera bag arrived and although the color was nice, it appeared to have been cheaply made. The size was good (just enough to fit my t2i) but I was disheartened when I noticed the interior completely smelled of a very strong cigarette smoke odor. The seller explained that the odor came from the materials it's made of and that it eventually goes away. I left the bag open for a few days to air out but the smell quickly filled up my bedroom and it was so strong I just couldn't get over it. It smells just like cigarette smoke. I eventually returned it at my own cost and didn't get reimbursed for initial shipping or the return shipping.

I love the size, color, and feel of the case. It seems to do a good job protecting my Canon Rebel T4i, which is the main concern. My only dislike is that my zipper gets stuck on the padding on one side when trying to open the camera portion, so I have to retry several times before I can get it open. Also, it's a bit snug with the neck strap fitting inside, as well, but it does all fit. Overall I think this is a very stylish bag that is convenient for taking with you anywhere.

this bag is just what i was looking for. i already own a Think Tank professional camera bag that holds several lenses, camera bodies, and my laptop. when i ordered this bag i was looking for something that would work for walking around a city. fits body and lenses up to 4 1/2 inches. side pockets will NOT fit a wallet but you can hide an id and a couple credit cards behind the memory card in the front pouch. side pockets would be good for cell phone, ipod, etc. all in all, i love this bag. i'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for something simple to take on photowalks.

this bag is super. Holds the Canon 40D w/ Tamron 28-300 lens w/o a problem. Super efficient with pockets in the right places to offer easy access to extra battery, cards, filters, etc. Comfy shoulder strap. Good zippers to seal it shut, very convenient for travel when the big camera bag is just too much.

The price is sweet, I looked at a lot of these on ebay and elsewhere, this purchase cant be beat. And you get the Amazon warranty so there is no down side I see

I run with a Canon XTI and a mid range telephoto lens. This bag has every attribute going for it.

1Extremely well made. All seams and zippers very well made and sewn. It's not at all likely this bag will open or fail, dropping your equipment to the ground.

2Stylish.

3Carry handle is the right size for a mid size hand. Sometimes you want to take the bag off your shoulder and just carry it. Very comfortable and again, well sewn.

4Carry strap is nice and wide and comfortable. Again, well sewn.

5Belt loop I don't forsee myself carrying the bag in this fashion, so not much I can tell you here.

6Outside compartments are roomy for the items you'd want to carry such as spare memory, batteries, and maybe your cell.

Overall, the entire Amazon process was amazing, and I was able to save about $20 off the retail prices.

I will be looking into other products they make for my larger bag requirements.

Ohby the way, you can choose to zip the inner compartment, making the bag more secure and I would think rain resistant. That's how I start my day with the inner zip zipped. Once I take the camera out, I don't rezip, just close it with a well designed, and easy to use clasp.

This bag is the perfect size for my Canon Rebel XSi with 18-55mm kit lens attached. When I get more lenses, I will need a bigger bag, as there is not extra room for additional lenses, but for now, it meets my needs perfectly. It is comfortable to wear over my shoulder when I am on the go, and easy to put my camera in and take out of--though still snug enough that my camera stays protected. Side pockets are perfect for cell phones, keys, power cords, memory cards, extra batteries, etc.

Update: I recently got an Olympus E10 and it fits great in the Tamrac 4620. I can fit my E10 along with the Tcon-14B and my 990 into the bag and still have room for 3 sets of batteries and memory cards. However, with the E10 inside, it doesn't fit my Vivitar 285HV flash (which is a huge flash unit).

I bought this bag to carry my Coolpix 990. It just the right size to carry my camera, accessory lens, external flash, filters, memory cards, 4 sets of batteries and the charger. It's also pretty slim so that I can carry it around (even in tight spots) without always bumping into things. The turbo top is somewhat useless. I recommend highly recommend this bag to anyone looking for a compact bag for their gear.

I really like this pack, using it for my Canon SX10IS currently. It has lots of room (although if you have a longer lense or big flash they probably wont fit) for both the camera and accessories. Along with the camera I can fit 2-3 packs of AA batteries, several memory cards, an SD card reader, the Nikon Lens Pen cleaning system, and a few other small items.

It's very durable, and the cushy shoulder strap makes it good for longer excursions. I feel very comfortable that my camera is secure and safe inside it (lots of padding). The all-weather cover is also a really nice feature, although you have to detach the shoulder strap in order to put it on, which can be pretty annoying. Also note that you wont be able to access anything in the bag once the weather cover is on.

The little micro-fiber lens cloth inside is also a nice feature to have, as well as the various pockets.

The way it zips up can make it a bit awkward to use at times (especially if you are trying to do it one-handed).

My only other complaint is that the form-factor (essentially a box) can make it kind of awkward and cumbersome as compared to other packs. It sticks out a lot from your body and can feel a bit bulky and uncomfortable since it doesn't always contour very well to your back or side. It's a bit like having a lunch box strapped to you. The padding on it makes this not too much of a problem though and I wouldn't call it a deal breaker. Note that the meshed surface on the back of the bag will mess up some shirts by rubbing against them and causing lots of "pills."

We used this case with our Sony NES7 camera. It was perfect for our European vacation. Had plenty of room, was easy to access the camera. I wore it once with it attached to my belt. We also used the pacSafe anti-theft camera strap to protect ourselves in Rome. Once we were caught in some showers and I quickly pulled the built in rain jacket over the bag and it kept the camera dry!

I searched over the internet & at the camera stores for a camera bag to fit my Canon G11. I wanted a the bag that fit my camera snugly, Velcro belt loop attachment only(no strap) and a small slot or area for and extra SD Card. The Tamrac 5689 fits all of that. It has Velcro to keep the lid/top of the case on and works well when you have to get the camera out quickly compared to zippered types. My camera fits just right with enough room to pull it out quickly. It is stored on its side and it makes it nice to pull out the camera quickly. The bag is well constructed, enough padding and not bulky. It fits well against your body if you hook it to your belt. It is larger than the little point and shoots and when I sit for longer periods I easily take it off my belt, which is attached again with Velcro. The small slot compartment on the inside is just large enough for a spare SD card, but not enough for a spare battery.

Overall, this bag fits my needs well and I have used it for a month now on various trips and weekend shoots. I give it 5 for its good construction, functionality and nice look. If you are looking to carry more things like extra camera supplies, then get a bigger bag, because this will be too small for you. Most reviews knock the bags etc. when they don't fit or have the features they are looking for after they use them for a while. My advice is to do your homework, know what you really want/need and do a good search.

This is a great case for the Canon G11 it offers good protection with light weight. Also purchased but returned the Tenba 638 MIXX Large and Kata DF-408 DPS, good cases, but they didn't fix as well.

My need is to add some protection around the G11 as it bounces around my bag with other media gear. This case holds the camera very well while the camera strap extends out of the top around flap. It is possible to fold the strap down and secure it inside the top of the case but it is tight.

Small front pocket is excellent for extra media card. It can hold an extra battery but it makes placing the G11 into the case more difficult.

Because of my specific use, and because the camera fits perfectly in the case, I'm considering cutting the top off of the case. It will allow me easier access to my camera while in my jacket pocket or bag.

UPDATE: I have now cut the flap off of this case. So it is now more of a protective sleeve than a case. It works great in my coat pocket or briefcase, protecting my Canon G11. I've also discovered that the G11 is built like a tank and doesn't need much protection.

A well-made, durable case for my Canon G10. It's made of a heavy-duty canvas-type material that resists scratches and provides enough padding to prevent camera dings. You can easily attach it to your belt but the G10 is a bit chubby to go unnoticed while at your side. It's not the case's fault but it's a bit thick to wear comfortably all day. Overall, I'd definitely recommend the case and have had no desire to purchase another which is usually a good sign that it is properly fulfilling the role for which I purchased it. I'd definitely recommend it to other G10 owners provided you weren't going to use it on your belt for long periods.

This bag was recommended for the Canon Powershot G12. It is a great bag if you don't want to carry anything else but the basic camera. If you put a extra battery in the front of the case you can't remove the camera. It is to tight a fit. I would not recommend it for that reason. It would be difficult to remove a extra memory card also.

So having gotten the awesome Canon G11, I wanted to have it well-protected as well as easily portable. After the usual surfing research, I bought the Tamrac 5689 and am glad I did.

I put a spare Canon battery at the bottom (I could cut a bit of foam to put it in), then the camera, leave the Canon wrist strap hanging out, and then close the flap. The velcro keeps it shut securely. An extra SD card in its little case is in the tiny front pocket (I didn't try to get the battery in there). Everything fits perfectly, and I carry the whole thing by the wrist strap. Very compact, no extra frills needed or wanted. Well-constructed, and durable materials.
