Very solid, well-made case for the price. Not totally thrilled by the design snaps seem a little stiff when you need to get at the camera fast, but not a big factor. Would recommend.

The case is very nice but it is a little bulky for my Rebel SL1. There are gaps at the crossover points between the case body and the lens portion of the case that will allow dust to entry the case. Other camera cases I have had were much more form fitting to the camera. I like the fact that the body portion of the case fits securely and can be mounted on a tripod without having to remove the case. All in all it is a pretty good deal.

Reviews of Think Tank Speed Racer V2.0 Waist Pack

Think Tank Speed Racer V2.0 Waist Pack
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

I was looking for a shoulder bag I could work out of comfortably when shooting events. I wanted something that could distribute its weight around the waist if needed, but didn't look like a huge fanny pack. I needed it to fit a gripped DSLR, flash and 4-6 prime lenses. Over the years, I've collected a closet full of bags from Crumpler, LowePro and Tamrac. The Think Tank Speed Racer V2.0 seems to have bested them all and exceeded my needs and wants. Thanks for taking the time to read this review. Hopefully, you find it helpful.

PROS:

* Shoulder Strap WOW! The shoulder strap is the best I've seen. It is well padded and super comfy.

* Waist Strap It distributes the weight well and tilts the bag at a perfect angle to work out of. The buckles and slip stops are top notch. The padding against your body is vented and more than enough. Also, there are spots to attach some of Think Tanks modular belt system pieces. I might consider this at some point, but for now this bag holds more than enough.

* Padding Think Tank just gets this part right. The case is well framed and gives you a lot of confidence when tossing your gear into a trunk or on the ground.

* Organized It includes a ton of padded Velcro dividers to help you organize your gear how you want it. Something that's really cool is that the dividers have an extra piece of Velcro on them so you can fold the Velcro tabs over and use them as just extra padding. Nice touch!

* Front Pocket Brilliantly organized and superbly designed.

* Side Pouches Great for stuffing in snack bars and a canteen. They're made of a heavy-weight mesh with rip-stop bottoms; about 7 inches deep. There is an adjustable synch cord at the top of the pocket to keep everything inside.

* Top Handle Placed where it works best and makes the grab-and-go carry easy.

CONS:

* Main Zipper It's super meaty and kind of hard to unzip when you are wearing it as a shoulder bag. The shoulder strap loops get in the way. This isn't such a bad thing, and when you wear it with just the belt, it leans the bag away from your body enough to make unzipping easier. My solution is just leave it unzipped when I'm working no matter how I wear it.

* Price As I tell my clients when asked about competitor pricing, "People know what their product is worth and charge accordingly." You get what you pay for and it is so worth the investment. Just buy this bag, you'll love it!

WHAT I CARRY:

Some people just love peeping into another photographer's bag. So, if you were wondering what I fit and carry when I use it, here's the list. I typically do not carry all of these lenses, but when I do, it weighs in at a comfortable 12-15 pounds fully loaded with camera. Keep in mind that when I work out of it, the camera and one lens is in a my B-Grip belt holster. (FYI: I am 6'3", 175lbs, with a 33" waist.)

* Camera: Canon 7D gripped, extra batteries, CF cards

* Lenses: Rokinon 8mm Fisheye, Tokina 11-16, Canon 28mm, 60mm Macro, 85mm, 135mm (all with hoods reversed)

* Flash: Canon 430ex II, Sto-fen, Strobist gel pack, extra AA batteries

* Misc: Sekonic L-308s light meter, YongNuo RF-602's, LensPens, Color Checker, water flask

"ORIGINAL VERSION" VERSUS "V2.0"

So why spend $179 on the Speed Racer V2.0 when Amazon is currently selling the first version for $128 USD (while supplies last)? Since I did not own the original, I searched the internet forums to find an answer. The major upgrades have been to materials and design, but they are very similar.

Some of the improvements that I saw are: The waist belt tucks neatly into the sides now, into a zippered compartment, as opposed to the older version that tucks into the padding side that faces the wearer. This makes the V2.0 slightly slimmer in profile when stowed. And they added a large pocket behind the back padding. The side pouches are a tougher mesh with rip-stop bottoms and the hidden side pockets have been removed. Some of the hardware (zipper pulls, waist belt buckles and slip-stops) have been improved. The front compartment has been redesigned for more organization and ease of access.

So is all this worth the extra $50? To me, a slimmer profile means easier to carry, so yes.

I also own the Think Tank StreetWalker HardDrive backpack. Based on these two purchases, Think Tank is money well spent, and IMHO the best bang for the buck. Feel free to ask any questions you might have. Thanks for reading!

Like many working portrait and wedding photographers, I have a few specific bag requirements:

* it must hold three lenses (one of which is a 70-200mm f/2.8 tele), a mounted pro body (with vertical grip), and two speedlights.

* I must be able to work out of it easily: everything should be accessible without too much wriggling, twisting, zipping, prodding.

* It must offer some impact and climate protection

* It should look professional and help convey professionalism--so, not overly "techy," not overly styled.

I looked long and hard, but I honestly couldn't find another bag to meet these needs. I thought about the "Boda," but there's no room for speedlights or your camera body. I thought about various Tamrac, LowePro, and Kata "sling" bags, but all of the reasonable-sized options only have room for one speedlight, and many of them have such an "overstated" attention-seeking look.

But the Speed Racer is perfection. It's tough. It's basic, sleek, svelte black. It's the perfect size to hold three lenses, a body, and two speedlights. It's built with so many thoughtful design touches that make working out of it such a pleasure. The top, for example, flops up and out of your way for easy lens changes; and flops back in place with a tiny "flick" of your wrist. It's got a seam-sealed raincover that's a snap to put on. The strap is deeply padded and comfortable for all-day work.

Thanks, Think Tank!

It holds my Canon 5D Mark II with battery grip, Canon 70-200 f2.8L Zoom Lens, and Canon EX580II Speedlite in the main compartment separated by the velcro inserts, and has two stretchable side pockets, several accessory pockets on the interior, front, and sides still available for filters, memory cards, and other accessories. The two parts of the very comfortable waist belt with loops for modular accessories fit so discretely into the two "hidden" side pockets that I thought they were missing! The shoulder strap is very comfortable. It's a Think Tank...no more needs to be said!

Honest reviews on Think Tank Speed Racer V2.0 Waist Pack

I bought this bag as a quick grab and run bag. By no means will all my equipment fit, I can however carry my Nikon D700, 16-35, 24-70, 70-200, Sb900 flash, and extra batteries.

This is the bag I've been looking for. I hated the back pack that I always had to take off and set on the ground in front of me.

Great service from Amazon! It's a winner.

i had a camera bag by a different company that fell to the floor when the shoulder strap hardware gave way damaging my camera. i purchased think tank's bag and found it ideal. it is very well padded. it protects gear extraordinarily well. all the hardware is made for heavy duty use. the design is well thought out and there are just the right number of compartments. i've used the bag for almost a year and it still looks brand new. think tank makes great gear.

This package comes with a DSLR bag and 2-DVD set (one for 3100, another for d3000, d5000).

DVD: For the beginner of DSLR, the DVD can be helpful, but you can also get the similar information from internet. If you are already into this world, and want to get advanced knowledge, this DVD would not be much helpful.

Camera case: This is really a high quality bag (a little heavier than you thought). Compared to the previous starter kit, this bag has great improvement in terms of both build quality and space. It appears bigger for holding d3100 with kit lens and 50-200mm zoom lens. This is expected as it is also designed for holding d7000. So this bag is for one camera with two lens. There is also large space on the front pack for holding accessories.

Check my uploaded pictures of the bag in the share customer image section for a look.

This bag came with a DLSR package I bought a couple weeks ago and I was pretty excited about it. The material is good and it seems built to last. However, there is a pretty serious design flaw that has caused me to get rid of it. When you strap the bag shut the upper sides of the bag bulge out and create pretty large openings where the elements can seep in. It's pretty bad when you consider how sand or water can get into your bag and cause a really bug problem. Also, the inner adjustable compartments are pretty weak and it's pretty hard to get gear tightly secured into the bag. The bag can hold a decent amount of gear (I have a D3000, 35mm, 18-55 & 55-200 lens, battery charger and other stuff fitted in my bag but it just doesn't feel like a secure bag that I could trust for long term use.

I would suggest the Lowerpro slingshot bags instead. That bag gives you quick access to your camera, durable design and it keeps your extra gear solidly secured in your bag.

Best Deals for Nikon DSLR Starter Kit with Nikon School Fast, Fun and Easy DVD Set

The quality of the bag is high, its padded, water resistant, and the locking clips won't break easily. The problem I have with this bag is that it is a bit too small and the layouts of the pockets are just not well thought out.

It would be better if if were about 1" wider, 2" longer, the height seems good. The pockets should be on the outside of the clips (they have a zipper anyways) so that you don't have to have the top open to access a battery or a lens for example. The lid pocket needs to be expandable or done away with, you can't keep anything more than a lens rag or a manual in it as is.

When I take my camera out for a hike I currently carry it in a range bag that I have padded, its slightly bigger and has all the pockets I need. When I'm at home I stow my camera in this bag.

Honest reviews on Nikon DSLR Starter Kit with Nikon School Fast, Fun and Easy DVD Set

Unfortunately, I did not check Amazon first before paying twice the amount at Best Buy for this same bag! With that said, this is a great bag. It holds both my Nikon 5100 with the 18-55mm lens attached, as well as my 70-300mm lens. I have my manuals, cables, acessories in the various pockets. The bag is very lightweight, which is what I was looking for. The DVD's are very informative, and I learned a lot about my camera from watching them.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Nikon DSLR Starter Kit with Nikon School Fast, Fun and Easy DVD Set

The bag itself is spacious and well designed and it comfortably holds my D3100 with its stock lens and a 55-200m lens. I think it could have been a little smaller but I'm not too bothered by the size. The build quality is solid and I can see it lasting for a really long time. I especially like the clips which are made out of metal and should last for a really long time. I may go out and buy a smaller bag just for the camera and its smaller lens (since I don't see myself taking the bigger lens with me everywhere I go) but I'm largely satisfied with this bag.

What I loved even more about this kit was the instructional videos that came with it. Both me and my wife and clueless about how to operate an SLR so the videos were very helpful in getting us started in the right direction.

This is the bag I have always wanted...It holds everything, even the keyboard, in a nice intuitive manner.

This would easily be a 5 star pick, if not for one little problem...the pouch for the tablet has minimal (read no) padding along the bottom of the pouch...I fixed the issue with the placement of a (clean) sock along the bottom, now all is secure.

Even with the small design flaw I highly recomend this bag. As a matter of fact all of my friends have now moved to this bag (employing the same fix) and I have yet to hear a complaint.

This Tamrac Zuma 2 day bag seems to be very well designed as a carrying case for the iPad system. It allows the user to pack the iPad/iPad2 (in its case), a charger, and it also has a special sleeve for a bluetooth keyboard such as the Apple Bluetooth Keyboard, or equivalents. There is also room for a pocket camera and SD cards, and a few other accessories. I find that this case strikes a nice balance between small size and weight, and being able to accommodate the things that you need to bring along with an iPad2 for a weekend jaunt.

Recommended. RJB.

I use this for commuting to/from the office. Perfect if you want something smaller than a laptop briefcase specifically for your iPad.

Plenty of pockets for charger, earphones, sunglasses, business cards, etc.

Comfortable shoulder strap and convenient handle.

You'll need something bigger if you want to carry 8.5x11 papers w/o folding.

So I got this bag because I needed to carry a 10D with 70-200 F4L mounted along with another lens and a flash. It's JUST the right size. Perfect. It's just tall enough to have the 70-200 mounted, Sigma 17-70 on the left side, and a 420EX flash on the right side. The front pockets will hold extra cards, batteries, etc.. The only thing about it is that I can't have the grip on the camera mounted, but that's not such a big deal. It's certainly big enough for a day trip, and MUCH more compact thank my camera backpack.

Lowepro Road Runner AW Camera Backpack Review

Lowepro Road Runner AW Camera Backpack
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars
Buy Now
My camera and multiple lenses, filters, etc. stay packed in this backpack

ready at a moment's notice to "hit the road." It is reasonably comfortable,

even for my 5' 5" frame and a significant hike through woods, fields, mountains.

The disadvantage of a backpack, is that you have to take it off to change a lens.

This is impractical in many settings, and hence, I often use the backpack through

the airports, or during "hikes" when I am not photographing, or in the car

on the way to a location, but then switch to ThinkTank belt system when actually

shooting. The ThinkTank system allows rapid access to each lens, as they hang

around your waist on a belt. This encourages experimenting with different lenses

and being more creative which is not the case (or practical) when you have to

take off a backpack, find a suitable place to lay it down, unzip, etc.

Bottom line: you probably need BOTH a backpack like this AND a belt system

such as Think Tank.

I own a videography business and purchased this bag along with a couple of Lowepro's larger bags for transporting our cameras and equipment to shoots. We ended up using it for our audio equipment, as it was the perfect size for a laptop, m-audio recording device, three lav mics, and a small 8-channel sound board. We have also used it to hold a Canon GL-2, DVD recording device, pack of DVDs, extra batteries and tapes, and tripod.

Features:

Sturdy rolling wheels

Telescoping handle, also very sturdy

Top and side thick fabric handles

Backpack straps (can be zipped up inside fabric if you don't want to use it as a backpack) We never used the backpack feature, because we didn't have a need for it, but the backpack straps and padding on the side of the bag that would rest on your back are very cushy if you did want to use it this way.

Adjustable tripod straps on one exterior side of the bag hold a standard size camera tripod

Lots of zippered pockets

Nylon weather / rain proof cover (designed for when you wear it as a backpack, it has an elastic hole for your head and the rest of it hangs down over the bag)

Rain / weather resistant even without the nylon cover

About the size of a standard carry-on luggage bag, but a bit shorter and wider, and way cooler!

The entire bag is tough and sturdy, great thick fabric, solid feel, this is not your flimsy Walmart camera bag special!

However, the winning feature of LowePro's bags like these is their

Fully customizable velcro dividers, which allow you to make whatever size compartments inside the bag that you need, and they really stay in place. Or remove all the dividers for a completely open area.

This bag is definitely worth the price! It is a great sturdy rolling AV bag for videography, photography, or whatever other business you are in that needs customizable compartments.

Amazing how quick this hog can fill up. would prefer sleeve for tripod or monopod. straps don't work too well. I've used one of these full of medium format rock climbing so getting your stuff through a airport and on vacation should be no problem. If you are a wedding dog get a hard case with wheels.

Bought this one used at a great price.

When I ordered this bag, I was replacing another. I thought it would be bigger than it actually is. I am impressed with the way the straps hide away. That is very convenient when traveling. The bag will hold a lot of equipment safely and it does give you quick access to your gear. I also like the way the tripod can be attached, not as loose as my Lowepro backpack. The strapping system is good but not as comfortable as some others that I have, to it's defense though it is carrying more gear than the other bags. The case is a perfect fit for my Sony T-77 and it's a great quality. However, I will be buying a different case. This doesn't fit my particular needs. I don't wear belts and the belt loop on it is permanently attached so I can't pass it through my belt loop and snap it on, it has no strap with which to carry it (so I use the camera strap hanging out the side to carry it), and, although it's a minor issue for most, when I am carrying only my camera and not a purse, I slip credit cards, cash, & ID into the case. The magnet on the case wipes out the data on the magnetic strips if I forget and put them on the front side of the case.

The sony site doesn't show this as compatible with the T500 (or pretty much any other case), but it fits perfectly. I was worried since the T500 specs show it as slightly larger than the T300, but rest assured, it fits like a glove. As noted in the other review, it is a hard case, which I actually prefer for it's added protection. It is a bit bulky as well so this will not be friendly to tight pockets. The quality is top notch however.

Buy here rather than a fake one off ebay. Same with memory sticks a large percentage of ebay memory sticks are fake.
