ready at a moment's notice to "hit the road." It is reasonably comfortable,
even for my 5' 5" frame and a significant hike through woods, fields, mountains.
The disadvantage of a backpack, is that you have to take it off to change a lens.
This is impractical in many settings, and hence, I often use the backpack through
the airports, or during "hikes" when I am not photographing, or in the car
on the way to a location, but then switch to ThinkTank belt system when actually
shooting. The ThinkTank system allows rapid access to each lens, as they hang
around your waist on a belt. This encourages experimenting with different lenses
and being more creative which is not the case (or practical) when you have to
take off a backpack, find a suitable place to lay it down, unzip, etc.
Bottom line: you probably need BOTH a backpack like this AND a belt system
such as Think Tank.

I own a videography business and purchased this bag along with a couple of Lowepro's larger bags for transporting our cameras and equipment to shoots. We ended up using it for our audio equipment, as it was the perfect size for a laptop, m-audio recording device, three lav mics, and a small 8-channel sound board. We have also used it to hold a Canon GL-2, DVD recording device, pack of DVDs, extra batteries and tapes, and tripod.Features:
Sturdy rolling wheels
Telescoping handle, also very sturdy
Top and side thick fabric handles
Backpack straps (can be zipped up inside fabric if you don't want to use it as a backpack) We never used the backpack feature, because we didn't have a need for it, but the backpack straps and padding on the side of the bag that would rest on your back are very cushy if you did want to use it this way.
Adjustable tripod straps on one exterior side of the bag hold a standard size camera tripod
Lots of zippered pockets
Nylon weather / rain proof cover (designed for when you wear it as a backpack, it has an elastic hole for your head and the rest of it hangs down over the bag)
Rain / weather resistant even without the nylon cover
About the size of a standard carry-on luggage bag, but a bit shorter and wider, and way cooler!
The entire bag is tough and sturdy, great thick fabric, solid feel, this is not your flimsy Walmart camera bag special!
However, the winning feature of LowePro's bags like these is their
Fully customizable velcro dividers, which allow you to make whatever size compartments inside the bag that you need, and they really stay in place. Or remove all the dividers for a completely open area.
This bag is definitely worth the price! It is a great sturdy rolling AV bag for videography, photography, or whatever other business you are in that needs customizable compartments.
