Not real leather, but excellent protection to camera. Fit is a drop sloppy. I don't know if other makes are tighter. Perhaps if too tight it would not fit around camera and allow everready use.

I tend to unsap the cover, leaving the body sleeve on when at an event and going to take many pictures. you can leave it on though. Take note that if you allow the swinginp portion of the cover to rotate too far it may block the lens when you power the camera on. You get a fault and have to restart the camera if that happens.

The battery and card slot are blocked in the case. For downloading picts to computer I work around by using a USB cable, or jsut go ahead and unscrew the casenot a big deal.

I mounted the camera on a tripod with the case onno problem until removal. I overtightened and had no way to unscrew. Used skinny pliers to hold the mounting knob while loosening the tripod mount.

This is a nice little camera case, and the color is true to the photo. It's small enough for the itty bitty cameras without getting bulky (which would defeat the purpose of having a small camera!), and I found that when I bought the metal camera strap that goes around your neck, that I can also zip the case up (zips from both ends like a suitcase) and let the strap hang out one end. Then I can hang the camera with case around my neck, and use the clip on the case to clip it to my pocket when the camera's not in the case. Works nicely. The only negative I have about this case is that I wish the pocket had a zipper. I have my extra battery and memory in the pocket, and they fall out fairly easily when I get into the case.

I never even tried this case after receiving it and the Canon SD1200IS ELPH. It was immediately obvious that it is much larger than is necessary. It turns a small camera into something really bulky. I ended up returning the item and purchasing a much smaller case. So, if the size of the camera in its case is important to you I recommend a different case.

I was worried that it would be too big but it's perfect for my Nikon Coolpix. It a bit big if you were looking for something to keep in your pocket but perfect for clipping to your backpack or any travel bag. It has a firm shell so I just clip it to the side of my golf bag and don't have to worry about it getting knocked around.

it has a 'pocket' for other things but anything small like a battery or SD card will not stay in that lose pocket. (not sure what it is meant for)

I need to take a 500mm lens on Alaska Air. This bag is supposed to meet the requirement.

I did have another bag for the 500mm lens, but it did not hold as much extra stuff as this bag. For airplane travel with a big lens, this is the bag you need.

I purchased this backpack to haul a significant amount of video and audio gear into the field.

This pack is huge and it will carry nearly all my gear. With clever packing, I can haul my lenses, large sensor video cam, filters, matte box, extra batteries, audio and misc support equipment all in one bag. The pack is very well made, easily handles a heavy load and is comfortable while carrying the load. Because it is such a large bag, it is not an everyday bag or for traveling light. It really shines when you need to haul a lot gear.

If you think this might be too large for you, certainly consider one of the smaller Tamrac bags in the expedition series. They are very well made and come in a range of sizes. You should easily find a size that suits your needs.

I would recommend this bag or one of the smaller bags in this series to a friend.

I have several camera bags/backpacks as well as a few Pelican cases and this Tamrac is exactly what I wanted. I wanted to fit my two bodies (with attached lenses, 70-200 and 24-70) along with a few other lenses and speedlites. This is the first bag that fits them all nicely and doesn't break my back. It's large, but comfortable! I'm happy!

If you put it into the case that it's intended for it does not fit well, foam is a little too big, and if you remove the rubber "seal" then you have a unsealed pelican case, worthless to me. It works, let's just put it that way and takes up unneeded space if that's what you're getting it for

I purchased this for my Olympus Stylus 710 digital camera. I got this for my new Lumix DMC_LX5, as another review said it fit and was good. It fits if you don't take in account that the strap doesn't, and has to drape over the top and hang out of the opening after you zip around it. It also has a front zip pocket, in the photo makes it look like there's lots of room for an extra battery. The battery fits, but when you put the camera in with the strap, you have to really stretch the case around it to zip up. I didn't return it because it was too much trouble. Who knows how long it will last having to stretch it each time it's used.

Just got it today. Love it. Higher quality than I expected. Fits a Sony DSC TX-10 Cyber-shot PERFECTLY! The inside is kind of a rawhide, just the right soft. 3 substantial magnets pull the cover down with the correct magnetism. I give this the highest of marks. $4.95? S***, this is easily worth $20 or more. (I would have preferred brown exterior rather than black though. Would match the rawhide much better. I like things just so. lol)

This bag was purchased as replacement for another Tamrac that we had outgrown. The bag held all of our current equipment and still had additional room for other items. Durability seems to be a hallmark. The backpack feature is very handy, especially when hiking, etc. with a two year old.

I used the next smaller version of this bag for years until I got another lens. The smaller (Adventure 71) bag held a Prosumer sized SLR body with attached 18-200 lens, a full sized external flash, a 70-300 lens and several many accessories. I got a new 10-22mm lens and it just wouldn't fit no matter what, so I took a chance and knowing Amazon has a terrific return policy, went with the next size bigger. This bag is awesome! It holds everything mentioned before AND three of my most used lenses. To give a better idea of those before mentioned accessories... Several filters, memory cards, batteries, two remote shutter releases. (one wired, one wireless) a micro-fiber towel, lens cloth, lens tissue, lens brush, magnifying glass, voice recorder/tape, pen/paper, compass, flash diffusers and my hat. Although not made to, it also holds a monopod in one of the external straps (not sure how long the material will last but it has been over a year with no problems. This bag has been virtually everywhere with absolutely no issues. I did use a LowPro 202AW for a while and it's just too big and clumsy, although it does hold more. Never could get used to the single strap, not comfortable at all unless using the waist belt which only makes it tolerable, but then what's the point of having a sling bag. When using the Adventure 74, I wrap the waist belt up and around the two external side straps (one of which also supports the monopod) then take the shoulder straps and tuck them into the very comfortable grab handle on top. That gets rid of any of the loose straps when carrying like luggage and also keeps them off of dirty floors. On short distance walks like going from car and across a parking lot I might use one shoulder strap. Otherwise when walking longer distances it's just a back pack and surprisingly, it's not all that much bigger then the Adventure 71. The bag does have a place for a SMALL monopod or a VERY SMALL tripod on the very outer most part of the pack but it makes it impossible to get into the outside pouch. In my case I carry bigger so what's provided doesn't work. All in all for it's size and build quality, this bag is AWESOME!

In the past, I've owned a few el cheapo varsions of this item which cost 1/2-1/3 of the price (notably the style currently seen at some of the big box retailers). It is worth spending a little more $ to get the real thing. These boxes are fantastic at keeping your gear dry and protected. I had the closure on one of my boxes finally give out, but that was only after several years of service and abuse.

I am extremely satisfied with a tip I recently saw under another customer's product picture: The Pelican 1010-026-100 Micro Case fits the Panasonic DMC-ZS3 camera just perfectly!

Because of another review, I was a bit worried about the clear lid, which doesn't have extra protection inside, but the camera is very snug and secure in the case, it doesn't wiggle at all.

Now I am looking forward to my next air travel, when the camera is clearly visible for security personnel at the checkpoint, because overseas I often had to remove my cameras from their bags. This case should speed up the check-through significantly!

My use for the 1010 was to weatherproof an alarm keypad. I spray painted the inside, in order to hide the keypad from view. The assembly is mounted next to my garage side entry door, and is used to un-latch the door or the gate to the backyard (Via the automation controller).

Before starting the project, I contacted the manufacturer regarding possible long term UV damage; I was told that their enclosures have been used for years in similar outdoor applications.

The pad has been exposed to the elements for over five years without failure (There is some slight yellowing). An identical keypad mounted on the front porch, without the box, failed after 4 years.
