The Canon Zoom Pack 1000 is very useful and sturdy bag and, although compact, it's big! Any Canon EOS Rebel/xxxD/xxD with a medium-sized zoom lens will fit perfectly. For example, a Rebel XT/350D with a Sigma 18-200mm (OS or non-OS) lens fits perfectly inside it (even with the camera's big strap folded behind the camera and with a polarizer filter + Sigma's big lens hood attached in front of the lens) and there's still some space left inside for some small accessories...

Some cameras with their battery grips attached will eventually fully fit in this bag, but often tightly (stretching it out fully at the upper side). This is the case for the Rebel XTx/XSx/3xxD/4xxD cameras.

It comes with a velcro "divider" to be put besides or over the camera (or behind it, as a matter of fact, on the top portion of the bag, just below its top cover), so you can partition the inner space and create a second compartment to keep a small point-and-shoot camera and/or any small accessories, as a battery charger (plus two or three extra batteries and memory cards). If you put the divider behind the camera (over its back), you can put anything on the upper side of the bag without taking the risk to scratch the camera's LCD screen.

The top cover closes by velcro so it's very easy and fast to open or close it (just pull it up or down, without the need to push buttons, press hooks, untie laces or whatever).

Inside the bag, just below the top cover, there's a very convenient zipper-style, "net-type" compartment (very useful for storing documents, cables, cleaning pens, portable table tripods, memory cards, lens filters without their original cases etc.).

The front accessory compartment is small, but there's enough space for some memory cards, one or two lens caps, and extra battery, any thin cable and maybe more (all these items together), if you arrange everything well. It has a small fixed divider, specially useful for keeping CompactFlash memory cards.

It features a comfortable, ergonomic shoulder/neck strap and a belt that allows us to carry it on our waist. You'll look like as if you're carrying a big gun!

If you don't have too much photographic gear and stuff, this bag may be the only bag you will ever need. In my experience, here's a list of what it can hold altogether:

Any Canon EOS Rebel/xxxD/xxD with a medium-sized zoom lens (e.g., the Sigma 18-200mm OS/non-OS lens, with a polarizer filter and a big hood attached)

A Canon CB-2LT battery charger

A Hoya polarizer filter case

A flexible, mini table tripod

The camera's USB cable

The camera's video cable

The front lens cap (when it is off the camera)

The rear lens cap

The camera's cover body cap

An RC-1 wireless remote controller (attached to the camera's neck strap)

A small, manual air blower with medium-sized rubber bulb (like the Giottos AA1900 Large Rocket Blaster or Canon EF Lense Blower or Visible Dust Hurricane Blower)

Of course it would be more comfortable if I'd put all this stuff in a bigger, horizontal-style gear backpack, but the Canon Zoom Pack 1000 gives me the convenience of wearing it around my neck and leave it hanging just in front of me (as I would do with the camera alone) or around my waist (holster style). You can even use both the belt and the neck strap in order to hang it in front of you in a stabilized way.

And, last but not least, it is beautiful, stylish and have a nice silver "Canon" logo in front of it. Recommended!

I have a Canon EOS 50D with the 28-135mm zoom lens. While I do have a large camera bag that holds it, additional lenses, and other accessories nicely, I always wanted a "go" case that would add some simple cover, drizzle protection, and scratch-n-bump protection to my camera when I was walking around with it, but not using it.

This holster serves that need perfectly and the camera/lens (with lens hood mounted backwards for storage) just fits. With the camera neck strap attached to the camera, and an accessory eye cup attached, it's an even tighter fit, but still does the job. Would another inch or so of depth be better? Yes, absolutely. But anything significantly larger and your camera would bounce around too much inside.

The case comes with one velcro pad that can be installed with infinite variance to cushion shorter lens combo's. I stuffed this pad in to the nose of the holster to add additional padding to the nose of the lens.

I've read reviews that state the EOS 50D will fit in this case with the battery grip, but I think that would be an extremely tight fit, and probably not practical.

The case comes with a belt strap (which I will use a lot to keep my hands free, and to keep the camera from beating me to death while walking/hiking). This belt strap can be tucked inside a compartment on the back of the holster and hidden, if you don't want to use it. It also comes with a detachable neck strap with a padded shoulder feature. I probably won't use this much as shoulder straps tend to slide off my shoulders unexpectedly, and this holster won't afford a lot of protection if it hits the ground with its heavy contents. One other NICE feature a small sewn-in hand strap on the top of the holster, so you can carry it this way, or hold the holster securely while you're fumbling to fasten the belt strap on. You can also slide this holster over a regular trouser belt as well.

Worn with the belt strap, the holster top can be left unzippered, with the cover held down by a simple velcro strip. This makes it quick-ready for a "draw" from the holster (hand slides right in to the wrist strap), for very quick photography, without having it beating against your chest on a neck strap as you walk.

The holster cover (top) is nicely zippered, with a pull down rain/moisture flap, and velcro fastener. There is a small zippered storage compartment inside the top cover 8"x4", and another on the outside front of the holster 5"x4"x1", suitable for CF cards, extra batteries, small cables, etc.

With this holster, I will now be able to remove the neckstrap from the camera and use only a hand strap, which will be wonderful (I hate neck straps, but won't touch the camera without a strap of some kind in place for protection).

Fast shipping, good packaging, nice looking (it's a Canon case and matches the camera well), and does its job well. Great transaction!!!

This bag is much bigger than I expected but just isn't quite roomy enough to comfortably hold a 35mm Canon EOS Rebel Ti with a battery grip, hand strap and small lens attached. It just doesn't seem to be designed with the optional standard Canon battery grips and hand straps in mind. The bag is attractive, however, and appears sturdy and well-padded but its bulk (some of which is from the rear pouch storing the belt strap when not in use) can also make it a bit awkward. Its not a bad camera bag for the price but you may want to consider something else if you plan on using a battery grip.

Post Script This bag turns out to be a pretty good fit for the Canon Rebel XT with the caveat that you'll only be able to fit the one zoom lens and no other lenses or a flash unit. Even with the XT's smaller size, however, the bag is still a too tight of a fit for an XT with a battery grip attached.

Fits my Canon EOS T1i with an attached Tamron 18-270 lens and strap. Zips closed with hood on in reverse mode or just velcros closed with hood on in shooting mode (eyepeice about 1" above zipper). This is with padded divider velcroed in place at the very bottom of case to provide extra cushion for lens in the event of a drop. Placing the divider there should address any padding issues and make this one of the best padded cases where it counts. Also holds extra batteries in side pocket and cards in top pocket. Belt, contrary to what I've read, slips back into pocket in about 10 seconds (unclasped). Little room for much else, but that's ok. My only concern is that I'd like some verification that it is manufactured under humane working conditions -but I've seen no such verification for any competing products either.

I purchased this item (Canon Zoom Pack 1000 Holster) about six years ago for my old Canon Elan 7e film camera. It provided a perfect fit for this full-size camera, with the EF 28-135mm USM IS lens and its lens hood mounted. After I switched over to the Canon digital Rebel XT, the new camera body is a lot smaller, and so is the equivalent EF-S lens. What I found is that with the extra space available, I can actually fit my external flash unit inside the holster. It is a rather tight fit, but the good thing is they won't knock against each others inside.

Here is what I can store inside this holster: Canon Rebel XT, EF-S 17-85mm USM IS lens (with EW-73B lens hood fitted in reverse), Canon 420EX Speedlite, LumiQuest Pocket Bouncer, polarizer filter, video cable, spare battery pack, CF cards, plus a few more small items. When necessary, I can also use it to carry my Rebel XT with the Canon BG-E3 Battery Grip mounted. But of course, the flash unit won't fit in this case.

The exterior of this holster pack is made of ballistic nylon, which is far more durable than the faux-leather used in cheap imitations (such as the Opteka DSLR Holster Case). I've been carrying this holster to and back from work almost daily, plus several oversea trips during the past 5-6 years. It is still in excellent condition. To me, the quality of its construction fully justifies its higher price.

[Update on Oct 20, 2013]

I purchased my second Canon holster case. After 11 years of faithful service, my old holster is getting an 'honorable discharge'. Its waist belt started to tear alone the sew line, and I don't want my camera to fall off the cliff during my next hiking trip. By the way, this holster out-lasted three camera bodies (Elan, Rebel XT, and T1i), so I certainly got my money's worth.

The new Canon holster case is made in China while the old one is made in Korea. However, they are exactly the same in terms of material used, construction quality, and dimensions.

Mark Tapungot is right this bag is bombproof, as all LowePro bags I have ever bought are. They just make a great product. This bag is the perfect bag for a Canon G7/G9, especially if you have the LensMate or Canon conversion adapter installed. It fits my G9 with LensMate adapter, filter & lens cap + a filter case for a polarizer, small cleaning kit, 2 extra batteries, and extra memory card like a glove. Absolutely perfect. The belt loop fits nicely on my backpack & waistpack belts. Note that this bag is not big enough to store additional conversion lenses like teles, wides or macros. If you have additional lens add-ons beyond the conversion adapter & a couple filters, check out one of the bigger Apex bags like the Apex 120.

I bought the Lowepro Apex 100 AW for the Panasonic DMC-FZ18. The Camera fits very nice but you can not carry much more in this case. It will carry the camera, spare battery and Memory cards but not much else. A perfect case for day trips.

hey peoples, this ,as of spring 2007, is a new model for lowepro. did quite a bit of searching to find a case that would be quiet, efficient for travel use and sturdy enough to drop and not ruin my camera inside. Although I could not find a model in town to look at first, I ultimately took a chance on this case to fit my canon powershot s3. based upon lowepro fitting guide, this one fit my camera and had the all weather wrap around cover that is a bonus in wet conditions. Also this case has a reinforced rubber bottom so if you are like me and make some unforced errors, the camera wont go first. so yeah I like. also has a nice belt loop on back. A very simple design. inside of case is a very soft material and can be converted into two pouches for whatever. and has a little pouch for an additional memory card.

Honest reviews on Lowepro Apex 100 AW -Black

This is a snug fit for my Sony NEX with 18-55 lens. THe camera sits on its side with the lens across the bottom. There's a divided pocket area inside at the front that can hold a few flat items like filters or an extra battery and the micro sized Sony flash attachment. You would be hard pressed to fit just the camera and the charger in there.

The shoulder strap has a padded section that is supposed to ride on, yup, your shoulder, but it doesn't actually work that well. In theory, the design allows for the strap to slide through the padded section so that it stays centered on your shoulder, however, the bag and contents aren't very heavy (unless you're toting gold bars or something) and the pad tends to fall right off your shoulder, or the strap slips through it and the pad ends up behind your back. Very annoying! I removed the pad and find the strap remains on my shoulder much better. Go figure!

I like the built in rain cover. Seems to work well.

Now, here's my main problem with the bag: one word Access! It's just too difficult to get it open and closed. There are two zippers that must go around very tight 90 degree corners to open the thing, and it's just way too fiddly. When you're tooling around and you need to get your camera out to snap that perfect picture, you are going to be fiddling around with those two zippers, and by the time you get your camera out of the bag, your kid's smile is gonna be gone; that beautiful bird, girl, car, whatever, will have passed you by. It's that much of a pain. Most of my other bags have a flap of some sort that covers the zipper enclosed area so you can "run and gun" with just the flap covering the top of the bag, leaving the zipper underneath open until you're storing the camera for a longer period of time. WAY BETTER SETUP!

In the end, I think the bag is decent, but the way they have the zipper section open and close makes my life a lot more difficult.

After much research, I purchased this bag and my Canon G11 fits in it perfectly. I replaced the Canon neckstrap that came with the camera with a Canon video wrist strap (which I prefer). This change resulted in more room in the bag for batteries (2), memory chips and even the charger everything I needed with me during excursions taken on a recent trip to Hawaii. The bag is well constructed inside and out, is light weight, and proved to be relatively water resistant during the occasional tropical shower.

The only minor negative is that it can be aggravating at times to quickly zip the zipper up (or down) on both sides of the bag in order to get the camera out or back in. Photo opportunities can be missed just trying to get the camera out quickly. Despite this minor point, I am very satisfied with this camera bag and highly recommend it to all Canon G11 shooters.

The Backpack is solid, well built and is good protection for my equipment.

My Nikon D50 with 18-200mm VR Zoom and my speedlight 600 fits comfortably in the camera compartment (with the speed light flipped down). It allows me easy access to get the camera in and out of the bag when the bag is on my left shoulder and slung around to my front. The upper compartment is large enough to hold what ever I might need during a day out.

I like to have equipment options whenever I take my camera somewhere, but don't want to have to carry something that looks like I'm on a combat patrol (I'm a soldier). This bag is it. Sure it's a tight fit, but I like that; forces me to be efficient. I comfortably fit the following in my 100, at the same time:

Nikon D3100

Nikkor 35mm (attached)

Nikkor 18-55mm (stored up top)

Nikkor 55-300 (stored in the lens space next to camera)

Nikon SB-700 in its own case which carries all its accessories (up top)

Gary Fong Collapsible Lightsphere (in front of attached 35mm lens; original divider is removed)

Nikon battery charger w/ extra battery inside (up top, in the black mesh pouch)

Nikon wired remote (up top, in the velcro flap pouch)

Nikon cleaning pen tool (up top, in one of the pen pouches)

Pack of AA batteries (front pouch under the snaps)

SB-700 user manual and other small documents (front zipper pouch)

Camera bag shopping is a total pain: every store I find has the same terrible selection and the ones online can't be tested in person.

MY GOALS/EXPECTATIONS: I got the Lowepro 100 at Best Buy because 1) it was a backpack and comfy and 2) it's easy to get the camera into and out of. But after just an afternoon using it, I'm going to return it. I have the 200 on order instead.

PROS:

* QUALITY: Lowepro makes good stuff. This is quality material, nice zippers, good design, etc. Solid bag all around.

* COMFORT: It's VERY comfy on the back. I'm about 6 months preggers, and I find it really light and easy to wear.

* EASY TO USE: Getting the camera in and out is a breeze. I had a 3 Mil Crumpler for about a week and hated it. As a sling bag, I fought to get a Canon Rebel out of it. What's up with that, I ask you? This is on your BACK behind a zipper and it's easier to retrieve the camera.

* HANDS FREE IS AWESOME: I'm a busy mom, so I need to pack up quickly and go, and to get the camera out quickly for photo ops. This works great for both.

* WELL DESIGNED: With room for the dSLR, a spare lens (which I don't have), spare battery and card and manual in the lower compartment, there's room for a little bit of stash up above. A cell holder on the strap is also very nice. The lower part is so well padded that I don't worry about packing my stuff over it.

CONS:

* TOO SMALL (for me): I'm a mom on the go who wants to take minimal gear, but who wants to ALWAYS have the camera on me. My hubby loved the size of the 100, but he packs lighter than I do. In the 100, I can just fit into the outer pocket my keys & wallet. In the upper pouch I can cram in 2 spare training pants for the toddler, a change of pants for her, & a couple of folded plastic bags (toilet training requires one to be prepared, after all). But that's a tight fit. I want just a little more room to grow.

Truth be told, the deal-breaker for me was that the upper compartment was just 1/2 inch too small to fit an 8 1/2x 5 1/2 item in. So I couldn't fit my Kindle and my Moleskein notebook. I don't go anywhere without those two things and I don't trust the Kindle to the tote bag I carry in the car with the rest of the kiddos gear. So I'm hoping the 200 has a little more room for those.

* CONFIGURABLE COMPARTMENT?: I have no idea what they meant by "configurable." You can slightly adjust the height of the pieces in the lower compartment to allow for longer lenses, but they don't really fit in any formation other than the one they come in. Truly, I tried, and I couldn't come up with any alternate. It works for my camera, but it's misleading.

* ZIPPERS CATCH A LITTLE: While the zippers are good quality and they glide smoothly, I find the rounded 90-degree angles of the upper compartment make for weird zipping. A fully rounded top would be an easier angle to zip in one smooth motion. As it is, the corners stick a little, especially if you cram the top full of stuff.

* OUTER FLAP POUCH IS FOR WHAT?: While the outer compartment on the upper part of the bag is perfect for keys and a wallet, the lower part has to be snapped shut so the camera doesn't fall out. That means the little area behind it can only be filled with something small and flat that you're not going to want to access much if at all. For me, I put a travel 1st Aid kit in there. It's definitely a specialized space.

* PRICE IN THE STORE: If you want this bag, GET IT ON AMAZON! Seriously, I got it at Best Buy for over $80, then found it at WalMart for $65, then found it here for...what's the price today? $48? Anyhow, the prices in the stores are appalling. Much better here.

SUMMARY: Not bad, certainly the best bag I've seen yet. It has inspired me to seek out the larger size, however.

Honest reviews on Lowepro Fastpack 100 - Black

Ive had the Lowepro Fastpack 100 for a month now and just love it! It fits my Nikon D90 just right, even with my longer lens attached. Its a tight fit, but everything fits in the camera section: camera, extra lens, charger. The space on top is enough for personal items, I even put a small traveling purse in there and a light sweater. (If you had another bigger lens in a padded sleeve, you could store it in this top section, no problem). I took it on a trip to Mexico, have taken it on local day hikes, and even on a local camera shoot. I love how compact it is, and its VERY comfortable for long periods of time. The way it has the side opening to get to the camera is also very comfortable and convenient, once you do it a couple times. There isnt enough weight to warrant a waist strap, which it doesnt have.

I struggled between this and the Fastpack 250 which holds a laptop, has an additional waist strap, etc, but the camera space was just marginally bigger. And I dont need to carry my laptop around with me on a local hike, or even travel with it MOST of the time. I am still considering the 250 as a travel pack in the future.

Another thing you can do with the Fastpack 100, is fit it into a larger backpack. Then I can put my laptop in a padded sleeve, along with personal items and use as my carry-on on a plane, if I needed to. Then when I got to my destination, I would have something smaller to deal with.

I need to add that Lowepro makes THEE best camera bags. This bag is so well made, I know Ill have it for years. My husband has an older Lowepro camera bag that is 20 years old and still going. Not a rip, tear or zipper malfunction.

So for me, having something compact that is a backpack, that is comfortable and big enough to carry the minimal gear I have this was the perfect item!

I have a couple of backpacks designed for SLR's, including Lowepro's CompuDay Pack, which is OK, but you can't easily access your camera, and it's a little bulky. I wanted a small side-access backpack to take on trips, and the Fastpack 100 was the only thing I found in my price range. Being familiar with Lowepro products, I knew what to expect regarding build quality. After reading some reviews, and watching some video reviews at YouTube, I had a pretty good idea what the Fastpack 100 would be like, and decided to get one.

As expected, construction quality is typical for Lowepro, nicely built, using good quality materials. I really do like the pack's compact size. At only eight inches wide, it doesn't cover my whole back, and there's still a decent amount of storage space in the top zippered compartment. The pockets and holders inside are handy, and this pack doesn't advertise that I am carrying a camera. The straps, and back side of the pack are well padded, and it's very comfortable to wear. The pocket on the strap can hold a small cell phone, but I have a small flashlight there. The small carrying loop at the top should suffice, as long as the pack is not overloaded. There is a net carrying pouch on the right side, although the elastic may not be strong enough to hold up under stress. The pocket on the back, under the flap, is a little shallow, but better than nothing.

There's a decent amount of padding around the camera compartment, so your SLR is protected, but I was generally disappointed by the design of the compartment. I expected to be able to carry an SLR with a battery grip, as according to the listed dimensions, and some user reports, the case could supposedly accommodate one. I found that while my Canon 7D with battery does fit inside, the zipper can barely be closed shut, and removing the camera through the side while actually wearing the pack on your shoulder, is practically impossible, as the opening is too small. Being a slightly smaller camera, the Canon Rebel XSi with battery grip does fit inside the case. So the case can accommodate some cameras with a battery grip.

The pack can accommodate an SLR with a lens up to about six inches in length. The SLR compartment has two Velcro secured dividers, but the setup really doesn't provide much versatility. The dividers shown in the photo on Amazon's product page is a different in shape than what was provided in the case I received. The compartment is actually "L" shaped, and isn't tailored for the lens as is indicated in the photo, which perhaps was a previous design. For a SLR without a battery grip and a short lens, there is a lot of unused space around the camera in the compartment. This could be a good thing, if you have a bulky strap like the R-Strap. Otherwise, your camera could be bouncing around some. Adding another divider at the bottom of the compartment would have helped alleviate this issue. I plan to stick a microfiber towel in there to fill up the excess space. Incorporating a retaining strap for the camera body might have been nice, but Lowepro apparently isn't very big on straps. The additional (optional) small square compartment provides space to carry another lens, up to about five inches long.

I experimented trying to find the best position for the camera and the strap. Your results may vary, depending on the length of your lens, and the type of strap you have, but instead of placing the SLR vertically with the back facing the flap, what can work well is rotating the body so that the camera bottom is parallel to the bottom of the pack, trailing the strap over the back, and then sliding this into the top of the camera compartment on top of the optional square compartment. When you need the camera, you pull it out using the strap. This position is advantageous, if you have a bulky strap like the R-Strap.

The Fastpack is designed for the convenience of those that are right-handed, so you drop the strap off your right shoulder, and swing the pack around your body, and support it on your left shoulder. Removing the camera through the side takes some getting used to, but it is definitely more convenient than having to take the pack off, like the CompuDaypack.

My cost ($52) is a major factor in my four star rating, as I would not have paid $90 for this pack. Workmanship and fit are good, but the design in the most important area, the camera compartment, was somewhat disappointing. Side-access is a clever idea, and I'm sure the process will become smoother as I get used to it. The small size is a big plus, and while can't carry everything I thought I could, the Fastpack 100 is still something I can definitely utilize. It grades out to a solid `B', and is a good buy in the fifty dollar price range.

I looked and researched so many camera bags for my Nikon D5100 before finally choosing this one. I'm a newbie to SLR photography, so I haven't had a ton of experience with camera bags. I am female though, so I've had a ton of experience shopping for handbags. That sort of counts, right?

A BAG TO GROW INTO: At any rate, I wanted my first bag to be fairly "comprehensive." I wanted it to be big enough to fit my current gear (Nikon D5100 with the kit lens and Nikon 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S DX) AND future gear (Nikon SB-700 AF Speedlight Flash and Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX Lens.) So I wanted a bag that would carry the camera, 3 lenses and a flash plus all the other accessories like spare batteries, etc.

POUCHES!!: There are two memory card pouches on the interior of the lid as well as a larger zippered compartment where you could store flat things like lens caps. There's also a front zippered pouch (bottom half) to stuff with other things like cleaning accessories, cables, etc. The front of this pouch will feel "poofy," because that's where the All Weather Cover is stored access that from another zipper along the bottom edge of the pouch. There is another front zippered compartment (top half on the flap) that would be suitable for less bulky items. The pouches on each side are also made of a somewhat stretchier mesh material with some elastic banding along the top to keep things from falling out. The zippered compartment on the back is really more suitable for papers or anything thin. Overall most of these pouches don't really expand a whole lot, so don't really expect to be stuffing anything super bulky in them. The side pouches will hold bottles of water though.

ZIPPERS & TOP COVER: I also wanted a bag that was secured with zippers (YKK), so that nothing falls out. I especially like how the top is designed with the flaps that hang over the top edge as well kind of like how the top of a shoe box fits over the bottom half. The design (along with the All Weather Cover) reduces the chances of water or debris entering the bag. There is also a plastic buckle that secures each half of the bag. Of course this does make it more time-consuming to get into the bag, but that was not a concern for me with this bag. ***I do wish the top cover opened the opposite way away from the body instead of toward. That would make it slightly easier to access the interior while wearing the bag, although you can just wear it with the front facing towards you.

QUALITY: The bag is sturdy nylon with strong stitching. Its not double-stitched all around but at the key points of weakness (top handle, side clips for the shoulder strap, etc.) The padding seems adequate. The interior divider padding is about 1/4" thick and the exterior padding is about 1/2" thick. The interior is also lined in a light grey that makes it easier to find things within the bag. The Velcro has a strong "stick" and there's enough of it for greater flexibility in configuring it. I wanted a quality bag, and I'm not disappointed. ***I do wish that the bottom of the bag had the water-proof EVA base like the Case Logic SLR bags have for extra protection.

COMFORT & CONVENIENCE: The bag is fairly boxy and bulky. This is definitely not a small bag, and I thought it might be a bit uncomfortable to wear, but its actually pretty comfortable even when loaded due to the nice wide strap (1.5") and shoulder pad with the non-slip backing. The shoulder strap extends up to 55" which gives about a 27.5" shoulder drop which is pretty substantial. If you prefer the top handle, its thick and cushy with a comfortably soft fabric on the underside. There's also a flap on the backside of the bag for sliding onto extended luggage handles for easier transport. Sweet!

OVERALL: I really love this bag. Its got a few features that might not make it super-easily accessible, but I wanted more of a "tanky and secure" nylon bag which could carry most of my gear comfortably. I didn't really buy this bag for "out-on-the-town-and-shooting" I bought the Lowepro Passport Sling Camera Bag-Mica for that. This bag though is great for when you want to bring more of your arsenal with you and keep said arsenal protected. I do really wish it had the EVA-clad base and the top flap opening away from the wearer, but we can always hope for the future. Sorry for the mini-novel, but I hope this helps some prospective buyer out there.

Before selecting this bag, I did several days of research of alternatives. This bag was a perfect match for my Olympus 500 DSLR, two lenses, flash attachment, spare batteries, and a number of accessories. The rain cover was a key decision-maker for the Lowe brand. Of special note is the number of external pouches to hold spare memory cards and flash batteries.

Great product! I Already had a Lowepro (top loader zoom), but with vertical grip my camera didn't fit anymore, at first the bag seems a little too compact, but actually works great.

I have a Canon 60D with 18-135 lens attached, facing lens down in the bag. Vertical grip attached too. The charger in there, a sun cap and a bunch of small accessories. There is still room for the flash and two lenses that will come at some point.

The two things I think are missing are a hard plastic bottom (it is probably fine, but doesn't make me entirely comfortable with my lens facing down), and even though there are plenty of inside dividers, I thing there are two sideway shapes missing, as well as Velcro on the side of a couple of the big ones.

The size of bag is just I want. I use it to put two cameras, one is Nikon D300+28-300mm zoom and another one is Nikon D800+16-35mm zoom. Both fit well. It can also be put into a regular back pac during travel.

It works great! It feels really durable! And it's waterproof enough which is important as I filled my bag with salt instead of sand, dirt or rice. I chose salt since it doesn't rot like rice, it's cleaner than dirt and cheaper than "clean" dirt

I had no idea what to expect with this camera sleeve and I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised at the good quality and how easily my Nikon D3100 fits in there. I wanted something simple that would allow me to carry my camera around while keeping it protected and this definitely does the trick. My only concern is that it will only fit with the kit 18-55mm lens that came with the camera, but not the case with the zoom lens, but that's not too much of a hassle for now.

My Canon 7D (no battery grip) with a 17-55mm lens is a very tight fit. Placing the camera and lens into the case for the first time was a struggle but I knew the neoprene would give after some use. I am happy to report I was right. Although still tight, I haven't had the case very long and feel it will work out just fine. My suggestion if your camera is a tight fit is to give the neoprene a good stretch first.

As far as quality, the sleeve seems well constructed and the neoprene has a nice thickness. Can't beat the price.

I wanted this case to protect my DSLR while caring it in a small bag rather than lug my big camera bag around, especially when vacationing. The case is perfect for what I wanted, it doesn't add any real bulkiness to the bag but still offers some protection for the camera from scratches and the occasional light bump. Fits my Canon xsi with 18-55mm lens with room to spare. Couldn't be happier with the product.

Honest reviews on Cosmos Black/Gray DSLR Camera Protection case/Bag/Sleeve for Sony

I can't complain too much. I bought this for something lightweight to protect my camera while hiking. The case works like it is intended but in reality it is just very hard to take on/off if you are trying to use the camera every couple of minutes but protect it in between. I use a Canon rebel SL1 (smallest dSLR camera you can buy currently) with 2 different lenses:

40mm pancake lens: the case is too big

18-250mm Sigma lens: the case is a little too small. I can get it to fit, barely, but parts of the camera remain exposed.

So, it doesn't quite work out for either of my needs. The quality is good though and the design is better than other similar styles of cases so I'm still giving it 4 stars.

Again, my biggest problem is that whenever you want to use your camera, you really need to take the case off completely and either put it on the ground or stuff it in your pocket. Putting it back on requires a decent amount of work/coordination too so this isn't easy either. You need both hands available and eyes. Just be sure you consider this before buying it.

I bought this product after reading many of the reviews. I have the nikon d5200 which is pretty similar to the 3100 and the 5100 in size. The case though is ridiculously small. I have to fight to get it on and it often slips off. It also does not fully cover the back of the camera so if it did fall its not protected. I'm not using a larger lens either so its not that. Its just too snug and does not provide enough coverage. maybe its me as there are no instructions or even pictures with the product but I don't think I'm that inept at putting on a case. I'm planing to return it as it provides no use to me.

I got this bag for my new Nikon D3100 and it's great! Fits the camera perfectly and the back pocket holds an extra memory card and the lead with room for a bunch more if needed. This is exactly what I wanted and the red color is great too.

Wanting a small bag, I bought this. In the camera space, it holds just the camera and my kit lens (18-55mm). If you have a larger lens, your camera isn't likely to fit in this bag. With my camera and lens, it's a snug fit.

It also has the back side area where you can store an extra battery, memory cards, and a few filters if you choose. Not much room for anything else, haha.

This is perfect for just your camera and one lens attached (not a huge one). I can fit extra batteries and a roll of film or SD card and filters in the bottom storage area, and the camera pocket just fits each of my 3 cameras with one normal lens attached. Plus it weighs practically nothing and the length of the strap is just right. I might just buy another one of these before they disappear!

I bought the case here at Amazon to use with a Canon 510 HS. The case fits my camera perfectly, i keep the camera on me to capture pictures i wouldn't get otherwise. The camera doesn't feel like something extra i'm carrying because it attaches to my belt securely and doesn't get in the way. Great case!

Just got it today. Love it. Higher quality than I expected. Fits a Sony DSC TX-10 Cyber-shot PERFECTLY! The inside is kind of a rawhide, just the right soft. 3 substantial magnets pull the cover down with the correct magnetism. I give this the highest of marks. $4.95? S***, this is easily worth $20 or more. (I would have preferred brown exterior rather than black though. Would match the rawhide much better. I like things just so. lol)

Did not fit my camera but at such a low price I'm keeping it anyways for a Christmas gift. They will think I spent 4x this much for this case. Very high quality with strong magnet closure and soft suede-like interior.

Honest reviews on Lowepro LP36221 Sorrento 10 Camera Pouch - Black

I thought I should mention that even though I went through the Lowepro sizing machine on their website, it still didn't fit my camera well. I basically had to force it in and dig it out of the case. Not convenient at all. As always, Amazon handled the return flawlessly.

The case is well made and has both a shoulder strap and wide loops for using it with a belt instead or in combination (slows down the thieves considerably when there is both a shoulder strap and a waist belt). The outer pocket is large enough for a few filters and lens cleaning supplies. The interior has room for a Four Thirds camera with a lens attached and room for a second lens as well.

There is not room for a full size flash, like the Metz 50 AF-1, but for people who are never going to take a flash or use a camera with an internal one, this case will be large enough. It is probably too small for use with a Four Thirds DSLR like the Olympus E-5, but it is fine for use with the mirrorless models. It would also be a good size bag for use with a small camcorder.

This case fits my Panasonic G3 with a lens attached and has room for an extra lens, charger, filters and an extra battery if I had one too. I'm glad I bought this to protect my camera. I accidentally rolled over it a little bit with my quad(maybe I should fix my brakes) and the camera was perfectly fine. This is a good soft case for the money with room for the camera and a spare lens.

Honest reviews on Tamrac 3336 Aero 36 Camera Bag (Brown/Tan)

The main compartment is just big enough to carry the epl1 with the 14-42 lens and a Panasonic 45-200 lens sitting in its hood, if the divider is removed from the case. My VF2 viewfinder case is attached to the camera strap and fits nicely inside also. In the front pouch I have a spare battery, lens wipe, and a pouch containing a b&w +2 close-up filter, a b&w 2 stop ND fiilter, and the connector kit for my ipad. One side pocket holds the lenspen and the other my cell phone. When out and about this small package attaches to my belt leaving my hands free but still with the ability to quickly grab the camera. Ha, and no camera bag shoulder strap hastles. I do wish that one of the side pockets was bigger to hold a water bottle. The bag is well built and seems to have enough padding for equipment protection. If you want to travel with an almost complete 4/3 system in a small package, this bag is hard to beat.

I took this bag to Europe last year, with a Leica M8, notebook and a few accessories; walking all over. It was unobstrusive and yet beautiful; tucked right under my arm, out of harms (and pickpockets) way; and small enough to fit with another small bag into my carry-on. It was light and roomy enough; perfect for what I used it for.

I have the sony Alpha Nex6 and I can easy fit it and three lenses(including a long zoom lens). I used this for travelling Europe and found it served well. The adjustable inner pocket is great for adapting the bag to your needs. It is sturdy and well padded, Probably not suitable for a larger size camera if you want room for lenses as well.

Almost as if it were made for this lens. At 83mm filter size this lens is big but this case fits it (and its lens hood) perfectly.

I have a backpack that I typically carry all of my gear in. For those times when you know you need two lenses but don't want to carry your whole pack around, this is perfect. My 24-70mm and 100mm macro lenses fit perfectly, lens hoods and all! Especially for the money, I recommend this product.

Honest reviews on Lowepro Lens Case 11 x 14 cm - Black

If you use the Bag Finder on the LowePro website, it recommends the 9x13cm lens case for the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L lens, which is a perfect fit if you don't have the lens hood attached (at all). With the lens hood attached (reversed) to the lens, however, the 11x14cm lens case is a perfect fit.

I use lowepro cases for all of my lens and have found them to be top quality and well padded for protection. This is an odd shape for my needs as it is more bulky than any of the lens I have. I bought it for a 17-40mm that would allow me to keep the lens hood with the lens (there has been alot written on the particular shape and size of this petal hood by canon). In retrospect I would have gone with a smaller case and carried the hood to make it more transportable. Nonetheless, the quality of lowepro is still here with this case.
