Almost as if it were made for this lens. At 83mm filter size this lens is big but this case fits it (and its lens hood) perfectly.

I have a backpack that I typically carry all of my gear in. For those times when you know you need two lenses but don't want to carry your whole pack around, this is perfect. My 24-70mm and 100mm macro lenses fit perfectly, lens hoods and all! Especially for the money, I recommend this product.

If you use the Bag Finder on the LowePro website, it recommends the 9x13cm lens case for the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L lens, which is a perfect fit if you don't have the lens hood attached (at all). With the lens hood attached (reversed) to the lens, however, the 11x14cm lens case is a perfect fit.

I use lowepro cases for all of my lens and have found them to be top quality and well padded for protection. This is an odd shape for my needs as it is more bulky than any of the lens I have. I bought it for a 17-40mm that would allow me to keep the lens hood with the lens (there has been alot written on the particular shape and size of this petal hood by canon). In retrospect I would have gone with a smaller case and carried the hood to make it more transportable. Nonetheless, the quality of lowepro is still here with this case.
