I got this for carry-around purposes, for protection-in-another-bag.

It holds my Nikon D90 and the kit 18-105 lens perfectly. I like the added protection for the front element. It's good for when I want to carry a backpack and put my camera in it with some protection from dings and dust.

It won't provide major protection, but it fits into my Crumpler 5 Million Dollar Home with the case just like it would without the case, when I want more protection.

One drawback is the velcro hooks on the fastening catch on the connector strap.

Also, you should use the plastic hot-shoe cover, since I put a hole in the cover when it caught on the hot-shoe rail.

I wish it has a built-in cap holder inside of the case. Great product overall!

This is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. It fits my canon 7D with a 15-85mm lens no problem. I just wanted something to protect the camera while it was in a backpack. It is a little tough getting it on and off due to the tight fit, so if you want fast access to the camera this may not be the case for you. It may stretch out and allow for faster access in the future, not sure though. Overall, very happy with the product.

This strap is pretty nice and isn't a huge brand call out like the Canon or Nikon straps that typically come with your camera.

I have a Canon 5D and this strap is good on it. I like that it is longer, so you can actually put a shoulder through instead of having it hang on your neck. My camera gets heavy, so this strap is great when you are trekking around with the camera slung to your side.

The cushion for your neck is good, I just hope the material lasts through sweat and wear (seems to be a feltish material with air bubbles inside for cushion)

very comfortable once it is around your neck. the bungee action does reduce bouncing around and wear and tear on the neck. the other reviewer is right that the thin ends of it tend to get tangled up when the strap is stored, which can cost you a few seconds. I was not too sure about how sturdy those thin straps would work, but so far so good.

I have used this strap for trips to europe, mexico, japan and singapore and like it enough that I have not had any incentive to look for something better.

I bought this thinking that it would take some of the pressure of my neck from the weight of the camera(Canon Rebel XSI,Extra Battery pack, 24-105mm L Lens). It does help with the comfort around my neck, but it seems to get tangled more and in the way then the orginal camera strap that it came with. The cords that come down from the neck strap get twisted all the time. It's just ok!

This bag fits the Canon Rebel Xsi perfectly. I wanted a bag that was small enough to be truly portable and not look like I'm a photography nut. I have been using Lowepro bags for a long time and I'm always amazed at the simplicity of the design. This bag is perfect as my daily grab-and-go bag for my Pentax K-7 kit. It's weather-proof, just like my Pentax gear so I don't have to worry about the occasional rain or snow shower. I keep my SLR with a prime lens in one side (actually laying on the side with the grip facing up for quick access) and have room on the other side for another lens and some filters. The strap is well made and is easy to adjust. The zippers are well made and zip easily open and closed. The bag has an overall well-made fit and finish and is a joy to use. The top handle is padded and very comfortable to hold for short periods or while moving the bag around. Like most other top-flap designed bags, the handle on the top isn't very useful unless the bag is zippered and clasped closed. A short handle strap instead of a handle would have been a better choice for me, but I'm really nitpicking here.

The memory card pockets and zippered pocket on the inside face of the top cover are perfectly placed. There are a couple of elastic pockets on the outside of each end of the bag along with a zippered pocket on the back (probably only large enough for pamphlets or a map) as well as a compact zippered pocket on the front where I keep some smaller filters. If you have a compact DSLR and are looking for a compact bag to go along with it, I would highly recommend this bag. I can sling it over my shoulder and take it with me wherever I go and it hardly weighs anything. Highly recommended!

I use my bag told hold my Rebel XS as well as all my lenses and have no complaints so far. The lenses I keep in the bag are the Canon 55-250mm IS with hood reversed, the Canon 50mm f1.8, and the Canon 18-55mm IS. I can store all of them without feeling like I am cramming too much in, and can store the camera with any of the lenses attached to it. I had looked at the Nova 140, but it did not have enough space to hold the camera with the 55-250 attached, so it was out. This bag also has lots of pockets for all the goodies you need to carry, including USB cable, cards, filters, etc. This would not work for a full frame camera, but for a consumer SLR such as the Rebel XS, this fits the bill quite nicely.

Negatives Wish the base of the bag had a thicker / harder padding.

Conclusion:

Very good bag.

Make sure you know what will fit in. This is smaller than a full size pro kit bag and that is why I bought it. Very compact / portable.

This is my second Nova 160 bag--the first one (bought 10 years ago) is still going strong, but I needed a second. This bag is convenient in all the right ways. I have used this when backpacking. The small loops on the top rear of the bag allow it to be hung with carabiners from D rings on my pack straps so that the bag rides on my lower chest. This allows quick and convenient access when the wonderful vistas appear.

The older bag dated from the film camera era and had pocket designs to match (e.g., a removable film pouch for the front zippered pocket). The major difference with the new bag is pocket layout. The front pocket is somewhat smaller, and there is some reduction in volume from the folded all-weather cover which tucks under the front flap. The inside top pocket is also smaller, but the outside top flap pocket more than makes up for it. I can't easily fit the SD cards or CF cards (in their protective cases) into the inside card pockets, but they can be forced in or out. The zippered pocket at the back is the same as in the earlier model, and convenient for your camera guide and for stowing other flat documents. The all-weather cover is a newer and valuable feature.

Outside attachment points are well designed: shoulder strap attachments (strap is included with the bag), belt loop attachments (belt sold separately: check your local backpacking store for cheap wide nylon straps and fasteners) and the top loops at the back for front mounting the bag to your pack straps.

You can easily stow a digital SLR with mounted lens, one additional small to medium sized lens, two screw-on filters, a couple of lens hoods, and maybe your battery charger and cord (with tight packing).

Well, to start of the camera barely fits and absolutely does not fit with the strap on.

The front pocket is so small, you cannot fit a spare battery in it.

You could fit a memory card, which of course, is useless if you don't have the juice to run the camera.

Although I opened the package and quickly determined this was not the case for me, I'm fairly certain that the zipper will fail sooner than later.

The W90 is a rugged camera, but I still expected more padding for the bag itself.

Overall, a terrible product, I am certain I will find something better at Wal-Mart for about 10 bucks.

I ordered the case for my new Canon G15. I have a Canon wrist strap attached to my G15 and I just fold it over on top of the camera when I store it. It fits perfectly, no problems and the front pocket is large enough to hold a spare battery and a SDHC card or two. I wanted something that was durable, flexible, compact and water resistant.This fits the bill. I also like the rugged look of the case. It's not one of those shiny plastic/vinyl cases.

The case seems to be very well made and is constructed out of a durable canvas type of material with a soft internal lining that should provide some protection and lasting wear.

If you notice from the picture, they are showing it with what appears to be a Canon G series camera...so if you know what size they are, then you should know what will fit.

The only thing I can think of to change is, it would be nice if it had a carrying strap. I knew going it that it didn't, so I'm not disappointed.

I wanted a small protective belt pouch for my Lumix DMC-LX7 and this one appeared to be the perfect match. It does the main job well. It fits the camera and its little hand wrist strap lanyard.

Sadly, there is no velcro or button to keep closed, or at least snug, what you put in the little front pocket. Anything put in there has a very good chance of falling out during camera extracting/inserting operations.

So, I ended up keeping the extras (battery, filter, spare memory card and moist lens cleaning cloth)in my pockets.

Since I was keeping the extras in my pockets, I ended up using my Zing Belt Bag because it is less conspicuous, more comfortable and more practical.

When I need a little protective pouch to carry my camera and extras in my backpack, I use the NG pouch it is perfect for the task!

I searched over the internet & at the camera stores for a camera bag to fit my Canon G11. I wanted a the bag that fit my camera snugly, Velcro belt loop attachment only(no strap) and a small slot or area for and extra SD Card. The Tamrac 5689 fits all of that. It has Velcro to keep the lid/top of the case on and works well when you have to get the camera out quickly compared to zippered types. My camera fits just right with enough room to pull it out quickly. It is stored on its side and it makes it nice to pull out the camera quickly. The bag is well constructed, enough padding and not bulky. It fits well against your body if you hook it to your belt. It is larger than the little point and shoots and when I sit for longer periods I easily take it off my belt, which is attached again with Velcro. The small slot compartment on the inside is just large enough for a spare SD card, but not enough for a spare battery.

Overall, this bag fits my needs well and I have used it for a month now on various trips and weekend shoots. I give it 5 for its good construction, functionality and nice look. If you are looking to carry more things like extra camera supplies, then get a bigger bag, because this will be too small for you. Most reviews knock the bags etc. when they don't fit or have the features they are looking for after they use them for a while. My advice is to do your homework, know what you really want/need and do a good search.

This is a great case for the Canon G11 it offers good protection with light weight. Also purchased but returned the Tenba 638 MIXX Large and Kata DF-408 DPS, good cases, but they didn't fix as well.

My need is to add some protection around the G11 as it bounces around my bag with other media gear. This case holds the camera very well while the camera strap extends out of the top around flap. It is possible to fold the strap down and secure it inside the top of the case but it is tight.

Small front pocket is excellent for extra media card. It can hold an extra battery but it makes placing the G11 into the case more difficult.

Because of my specific use, and because the camera fits perfectly in the case, I'm considering cutting the top off of the case. It will allow me easier access to my camera while in my jacket pocket or bag.

UPDATE: I have now cut the flap off of this case. So it is now more of a protective sleeve than a case. It works great in my coat pocket or briefcase, protecting my Canon G11. I've also discovered that the G11 is built like a tank and doesn't need much protection.

A well-made, durable case for my Canon G10. It's made of a heavy-duty canvas-type material that resists scratches and provides enough padding to prevent camera dings. You can easily attach it to your belt but the G10 is a bit chubby to go unnoticed while at your side. It's not the case's fault but it's a bit thick to wear comfortably all day. Overall, I'd definitely recommend the case and have had no desire to purchase another which is usually a good sign that it is properly fulfilling the role for which I purchased it. I'd definitely recommend it to other G10 owners provided you weren't going to use it on your belt for long periods.

If you put a extra battery in the front of the case you can't remove the camera. It is to tight a fit. I would not recommend it for that reason. So having gotten the awesome Canon G11, I wanted to have it well-protected as well as easily portable. After the usual surfing research, I bought the Tamrac 5689 and am glad I did.

I put a spare Canon battery at the bottom (I could cut a bit of foam to put it in), then the camera, leave the Canon wrist strap hanging out, and then close the flap. The velcro keeps it shut securely. An extra SD card in its little case is in the tiny front pocket (I didn't try to get the battery in there). Everything fits perfectly, and I carry the whole thing by the wrist strap. Very compact, no extra frills needed or wanted. Well-constructed, and durable materials.

It is roomy enough for many additional camera items, such as the usual batteries and memory cards, lenses, etc., in addition to my keys and wallet. Comfortable bag for hiking with camera and a few accessories. The extra straps confounded me, though I found they did help relieve some pressure on my back. They fell off mid-hike though, which makes me concerned about the durability. However, it serves its purpose for now and not expensive to replace if necessary.

I bought this as my "carry everything" bag and it so far fits the bill perfectly. In it I can fit: Sony Nex-6 with kit 15-50 lens, Tamron 35-70 MD zoom lens, Minolta 70-200 MD zoom lens, MD mount adapter, 2-piece macro extension kit, old Vivitar full-size flash, cleaning kit with full-size air bulb, 49mm filter kit (6 filters in pouch), extra lens rear caps and camera body cap, and 2 batteries + wall USB charger + wall direct charger (Wasabi) + USB cable. There is still room for 2 pancake lenses or one mid-zoom lens. The over-the-shoulder carrying position is comfortable and handy especially if you're hiking around all day. There is a small pocket on the shoulder strap (accessible when the main bag is on your back) into which you can fit a battery, a filter, and a memory card. When you need more, just sling the bag down in front of you and it sits level with the zippers on top. Very convenient. The larger external pocket is good for lens cloths and the manual and other flat-ish things, but it doesn't expand much. The only nits the zippers aren't the highest quality (but better than the $8 Zeikos bag I use for smaller outings) and I wish there were a couple of more external pockets. Maybe deduct 1/2 star for that. Overall I'm very happy with the bag.

This is a great bag. Love the adjustable dividers and pocket on the outside. Straps are not well secured--pulled away from bag and had to be repaired within the first week of travel. Feels like it's made of cardboard? Nonsense!! The structure is made of very rigid plastic panels covered with some kind of synthetic material that is textured to supposedly look like the surface of the camera. The camera barely fits into the case but this is a good thing, because it keeps the small size of the camera intact. Overpriced? All of Sony's accessories are always overpriced; get over it. With most of the carrying case made of either fake leather or some kind of neoprene material, this one is really different. The rigid structure also seem to do a great job to protect the camera. There is also a belt loop and D-ring feature which is great.

I just got mine earlier today. I love it so much I had to write a review. I bought it for my Cannon Powershot A2200. The case is compact and is very portable. I love the feel of it and it has a hard shell for protection. It comes with the little ring thing that clips on very easily to your belt loop on your pants.
