I have been looking far and wide for the perfect case for my Canon Powershot SD780, and finally found it. It is snug enough that my camera doesn't wiggle, get not too snug that it's hard to put in and take out. There is a nice inside pouch for a spare battery, and two separated smaller pouches for extra SD cards. It can be slipped through a belt, or used with it's attached wrist strap. However, there is a nice ring on the back where you can clip your own neck strap to it if you wish. It is very soft inside, to cushion the camera. I also like the styling: professional, yet modern. The compact size is definitely a plus, and fits into my purse without taking up too much room! You can't go wrong with this one!

This carrying case was purchased to hold my new Canon Powershot SD880 IS. The camera fits snugly into the case with no issues. The case also has a tiny pouch to store an additional memory card. In my mind, the price of this carrying case is its strength. The competitive product I looked at was a fancy leather model four four times higher price. It's a carrying case for goodness sake, not a fashion statement.

I bought this photo backpack for a photographic trip to the Peruvian Amazon in 2006. I wanted something that I could carry onto a plane, tote around the cities and sites that I visited (Lima, Cusco, Machu Pichu, etc.) and finally protect my photo equipment in the jungle. This bag did that well.

It held almost my entire 35mm digital photo system, including:

Yes, it was heavy. Fortunately I had a strong young guide who helped me with in on the long hikes through the jungle.

This is a heavy-duty, pro-quality bag. Although Tamrac is more of a pro-sumer manufacturer, I would put this item up against anything made by Tenba or Lowepro. I give it four stars only because the interior dividers were not flexible enough (or plentiful enough) to allow me to make use of all of the space inside of this large-ish backpack. There was a lot of vertical space wasted which let some of the equipment shift up and down inside of the bag.

I really like this case and I still use it often. If you need to carry expensive equipment around rugged areas, I would recommend this item.

I was looking for a singular solution to carry a wide range of gear in. I tried the Tenba Shootout and Lowepro Trekker 300AW but they lacked the interior space. Then a friend suggested the Tamrac 5258.

After trying several layouts, I was finally able to arrange the pack to handle the following in the main compartment:

Canon 1DMK III

Canon 300mm f2.8

Canon 100-400mm f4-5.6L IS

Canon 24-105mm f4L IS

Canon MP-E 65mm

Canon 1.4x and 2x converters

Canon 580EX II flash

It was nice to be able to pack everything into one bag but it is a hefty load. Another bonus is that with the main compartment full, I still have plenty of room for my notebook. Other packs, when fully loaded, seem to compress the notebook pocket.

The 5258 has plenty of small zipper pockets inside the main flap and the front pocket for batteries, memory cards, pens/notepad, cell phone, and other various odds and ends. The biggest drawback is that there are no side pockets, no water bottle pocket or rain cover. All this has to be purchased separately. Side pockets would have been nice to store battery chargers, notebook power cables and larger accessories.

The 5258 is a great pack-mule for your gear but a little large for day hikes or romping around the zoo. I'm going to supplement the 5258 with a Velocity 7x (to tote an extra lens, flash, etc) that should be more practical for short outings.

I bought this bag knowing I required a lot of room for my equipment. This bag doesn't disappoint! It's a tad heavy however considering what my camera equipment is worth, I feel the little extra heaviness of it gives me a little piece of mind. And, it's not too heavy that I can't carry it. I recently went to South America and my bag including equipment weighed 31 pounds. Now that might seem heavy for some people, but the bag was extremely comfortable to carry.

Pros:

~ I love the fact that I can lock it to not only my waist but upper body also

~ It's made for the M A S system so you can add accessories like the water bottle (I highly recommend that one)

~ Lots of padding especially when you are going to carry a lot of equipment

Cons:

~ I had a hard time putting it in the overhead bin on the puddle jumpers. But, considering they are smaller planes with smaller overhead compartments, I still was able to put it away. And, I think that if you don't over stuff it like I did, it will always fit in the overhead.

This seems like a pretty sturdy carrying case, although I really just got it and tossed it aside, due to the fact that IT DOES NOT FIT A D5000. It is possible to cram the camera in and stretch out the zipper, like stuffing a suitcase for a 3 week trip. My advice to you if you're buying this for a D5000, look elsewhere!!! You will be disappointed.

I just bought the D3100 from Amazon and I love it. I did not want an overwhelming camera bag. This one fits the D3100 with the standard 18 55 mm lens, period, It won't hold anything more although you can tuck in the Nikon strap, too. It was perfect for my needs on my recent 3 week vacation.

When you buy a camera as tiny as this Nikon Coolpix S01, you don't want it rattling around in a standard compact camera case. The picture for this case is a different color than what you get. It's a nice case it just isn't the right color. I bought this for my mom as a Christmas present to match her camera that is the same color as the case in the picture then when I got the case in the mail it is very very light pink not as shown. But it wasn't worth sending it back it does what it says it's going to do it just isn't the right color that would have been nice to know before hand. This bag is absolutely perfect for EVIL / Compact system cameras. I have spent the last month trying to find an ideal bag for my nex-5n and the two kit lenses (18-55, 16mm pancake) as well as a place to put my phone. I bought a Kata Marvelx 20 and a Crumpler 2 Million Dollar Home and neither one really suited me. The Domke does.

The Kata, which was made for just the 18-55 didn't have a nice, soft lining, but a typical nylon-material and had a difficult circumference zipper along the perimeter of the bag. To open it, I had to zip up, right, then left to get at my camera. The 2 million dollar home would hold the camera body with the 18-55 attached and the 16 on the side just fine, but with the 16 mm attached, the 18-55 was too large to have both the lens and the camera side by side the solution would require me to stack the camera on top of the lens.

The Domke F=5XA is my first Domke bag, but it will certainly not be my last. It feels very rugged, has some space for accessories (or a smartphone) and does not scream camera bag. It's also relatively thin--which is perfect for an EVIL camera--which prevents it from sticking out too much when you wear it.

The straps are metal and removable and the bottom is very sturdy. The straps also have a nice rubber-like material sewn into it so that the bag won't slip off your shoulders.

When I tried this bag, I also played around with the Lowepro Courier 80/70, Tamrac Rally 2, and Manfrotto Solo II and the Domke came out on top. The Lowepros looked like children's lunchboxes and did not fit the double lens kit all that well, the Tamrac was very thick and stuck out too much when worn, and the Solo II was too small for both lenses.

All and all, this bag is the perfect companion for the NEX-5N and other EVIL cameras.

It's a nice little bag. Durable material (standard Domke). Don't expect to get much more than the camera and a second lens or flash in the bag. You will not be able to fit a notebook or your sunglasses. My m4/3 camera, second lens fits nicely. Can't get the battery charger or a notebook in there.

Nice day bag. If you need a place for more than the camera, move up to a bigger bag.

This bag is very well made, like all Domke bags, but it's quite small. You'll be able to put a NEX with small lens and your wallet and phone. That's about it. The front pockets are barely large enough to hold a credit card and SD cards. I don't feel comfortable putting a Nex battery in the front pockets, they're that little. It's dumb because the pockets could be considerably bigger (deeper) but were designed to be tiny. I replaced it with the F-5Xb which is a a much better and more usable size for my purposes.

The Vanguard Up-Rise II 46 is a large, lightweight backpack that has tons of space for my camera and just about any other equipment I may need. In fact, there are seven spaces just within the backpack that can be re-sized with the Velcro units. That doesn't even include the smaller pockets on the outside. While I'm not a professional, as an amateur who has a few lenses and an external flash, it is more than enough space.

The backpack is actually more like a suitcase with straps since it is designed to lie down flat and be opened. This keeps the camera and its components steady and secure. I've done some serious hiking with this backpack, including climbing up steep hills, and I've never felt my camera was in any danger.

At first, I figured I'd only use this backpack occasionally. However, I like it so much, I still haven't returned to my old case. It's so convenient and comfortable to have everything in one place and resting on my back.

The only downside is the price. While the backpack is very solidly constructed, you'd have to get a lot of use out of it to justify the price (even at Amazon's discount).

Overall, I highly recommend this backpack to any amateur photographer who wants a steady, spacious, and comfortable alternative to a traditional case. For those who frequently take nature photos off the beaten path, it is essential.

You can definitely see the difference when stepping up to a professional grade camera bag.

The camera bag walls are built with protection in mind. The walls are thick and the bottom has plenty of foam cushion.

There is enough storage to carry one body, a flash, and 4 to 6 lens depending on your lens selection. You an adjust the storage sections quickly by moving the dividers around. This will allow you carry two bodies safely. You will sacrifice a lens or two by having two bodies.

The bag does have weather proofing for peace of mind when having to go out in wet weather. Though I would not want the bag get too wet.

The outside storage on the bag has plenty of room to carry extras. Unfortunately, the inside mesh storage is on the small side.

There is also a compartment for a tablet or a 14" or smaller ultrabook. However, I personally do not safe putting my tablet there with it being on the bottom and the heavy camera gear sitting on top of it. Yes there is foam in between.

My other concern is the quick access pocket. The zipper will drift lower. While the actual top of the quick access panel is attached with a snap-in connection, the zipper portion is not stable. I have not had issues with it but I am not 100% confident that there may not be an issue.

I rate this camera bag 4 stars and would recommend it. I have not used any other professional grade camera bag so I can only compare to my Canon Deluxe Photo Backpack 200EG for Canon EOS SLR Cameras (Black with Green Accent)

No, this backpack is designed for the serious upper end prosumer, and professional photographer. Its a large, roomy backpack with a large amount of storage space and some very useful and practical accessories (the rain protection, for example. It's comfortably padded, and is definitely a backpack for those who expect to be hiking long distances with a fair amount of camera equipment. If you are looking to go into the Yellowstone backcountry, or a long day up in the North Woods, this backpack, for the most part, will do you right.

Two things do stand out that could stand to be improved. The backpack has a "Trapdoor" that allows for relatively easy entry into the interior of the backpack to retrieve your camera without having to stop and undo everything. Its a nice idea, especially for those opportunities for a fleeting shot, but the design is suboptimal to me. It's a little too open and I am concerned that in inclement weather, this is going to be a a danger to the camera equipment within.

The other thing is the laptop space. I do appreciate that they have thought to have room for a laptop, a lot of professional photographers like that flexibility in working on photos away from home. However, the position of this laptop space means that it will be pressing into your back. I think a little more padding in that space might work better. Personally, my netbook won't cause this issue, but a 13 or 14 inch laptop will.

Overall, though, I am extremely pleased with it. This is not a backpack I'd use for a casual trip out to the city to shoot photos. But for a longer expedition to the Badlands, the North Shore, or to the Rockies? Yes, this is the backpack I will use, even given its flaws. The benefits and advantages of being able to easily carry a lot of equipment are not to be understated.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program First off, this is a very well made, high quality bag. The materials and hardware are top notch. It is big and is best suited to someone who needs to carry around or transport a lot of lenses. However, this will not be the bag I use for most of my photo needs. The main issue I have with this bag is that it lacks storage pockets, nooks, sleeves, nets, etc. For example, there are no small pockets designed to hold memory cards, or batteries. Other than the voluminous main compartment, there is a vertically zipped storage pouch on the outside with nothing inside to secure or otherwise store various small items. Everything would just settle at the bottom.

Another curiosity is that the expanding feature only expands the main compartment, not the storage pouch. Since it expands out from the bottom, it appears its main need to use it would be when you have a long zoom lens you would need to store jutting outward in the bottom compartments. Not sure if I'd want to do it that way, though. Another thing that might be an issue is, when the expander is fully expanded, the main compartment pockets would then have some space above them. Seems to me a small lens could easily get loose in the gap.

I think I will probably stick with my Lowepro Fastpack 250 Camera/Laptop Backpack for most uses. It has less main compartment storage, but lots of places to hold a lot of accessories.

The soft padded dividers can be repositioned to more securely stow your gear away and to confirm to differently shaped cameras. Bottom line you're not locked into one position.

I also like the "quick access" door to reach into the bag and grab your camera without having to open up the entire bag, exposing all your gear to prying eyes around you.

Overall, I think this bag is good bang for the buck.

I have used Tamrac bags for going on 30 years for my extensive collection of Film & Digital cameras and lenses along with a camcorder or two. My most recent addition, the Messenger 1 bag, is a good fit for my new Lumix FZ28 camera. The bag has room for a charger, extra battery, several memory cards, cords, owner's manual, ETC.

The most important thing to remember when looking for a bag that will FIT your camera is to access the Tamrac website. They have a chart listing most all cameras on the market and the recommended bags that will fit. There are usually at least 5 different types, plus several colors, to choose from.

This is great for my Canon Rebel xsi with the bundled lens. It easily stores the battery charger, a few memory cards, and a point and shoot camera (canon powershot a510). If you need to carry much more than this or another lens I'd look for another bag, there just isn't room for another lens. However, if you just need a solid bag for a few items this is great.

This bag is good for photography starters with maybe 2 lenses. An XSi with 18-55mm kit lens fits well into the bag with extra rooms below the lens as well as plenty of room on the side, which can be used for another average telephoto lens and an external flash unit.

The front pocket can have a lot of accessories, including the battery charger, filters, wires and cables, compass etc. Two side pockets, and one has zipper, which is good for additional batteries and memory cards. There is also a pocket on the cover, which can be used for things like lens cloth.

There is no zipper on the cover. It simply flips down and is locked in place by a velcro + a plastic bracket, it is fast, but also leaves a lot of space to allow dust, particles, water or even a hand to reach the camera inside. However, it may be difficult for someone to nab the camera through this space, especially if it has a lens mounted.

This bag is probably not going to work for full-frame bodies and/or fast long focal length lenses. But seriously, if you have such equipment, you probably wouldn't trust this bag anyways.

I bought this bag to take my Olympus Evolt E-510 to Disney World. I do not have any additional lenses for it, but I do carry one extra battery. I was able to put my credit cards and money in an inside front pocket and my photopass (a Disney card you hand to all the photographers to link pictures they take to your account) in the front zip pocket for super-fast access. I put my cell phone in the side velcro pocket (under the strap on one side) and maps in the open back slit-style pocket. It was absolutely perfect for my needs. It is good, hardy quality, and the zippers seem pretty sturdy. I highly recommend it!

I bought this ZAGG InvisibleShield for the Nikon D3000. The installation of the film onto the camera requires some patience and precision. I sprayed my fingers and hand with the solution and applied the same to the film. It is tricky to install the film without any air bubbles the first try. I had to remove the film and install it the second time. I learned that the best way to install the film is to line it up with the corners of the screen, and as you push down the film, use the squeegee to press down as well as to remove the air bubbles trapped. I did this and only one or two bubbles were left. The good thing is, after 1-2 days, the air bubbles disappear by themselves. Overall, I am really satisfied with the ZAGG and it provides a layer of protection for the camera LCD screen.
