Nice case and nice padding to protect the camera. Problem is it does not fit my camera despite the description saying that it does.

Ok, I almost wrote a bad review for this bag. If it went through I apologize. I hope I am able to edit before it is posted.

I was showing the bag too small, but it does work if you put it in the case correctly. ;o) This is a very well made case and should do a fine job of protecting the camera. It is for a young teen, so it needs to do a good job of protecting the camera. Highly recommend!

Just got a new Panasonic Lumix and wanted a camera case that would protect new investment. Some cases are just basically a bag that covers the camera but does not provide any real protection. This case provides schock protection if camera is dropped with or falls out of my wife purse. Also protects it from items inside of purse of being jostled around during everyday normal activities. Cheap protection for a great camera.

This case was delivered very quickly, fits the camera perfectly and works great. I would recommend this case for anyone that isn't looking for a bulky case.

When I search camera case for my wife. Found this pick camera case price way lower than black & brown color.

Since the case is for my wife, colors are not an issue and black & brown cost double than pink. I click and buy this pink color camera case. When I received it yesterday and put my wife camera (Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS-20 Red) in it. Fitting is very good and she is happy with it, because I will not take away her camera any more. Because red camera with pick case is too feminene for guys. Material and quality are excellent. External is hard & inside is soft make good protection for camera. And best of it, I pay less than $10.00. (Don't tell my wife!)

So, I've been questing for a large messenger bag to drag gear to shoots. I tried Thinktank Retrospectives, but they were super ugly. I picked up this Packington and I have to say I think it's a great bag for me. I immediately filled it with a Nikon D4, 200mm f2, 16-35mm f4, 24mm 1.4 and 85mm 1.8 and it all fit very well. There are still 4 spacious pockets that I've not even tried to load up yet. The bag slings nicely against my lower back and the padded shoulder pad means it's not painful to carry.

I had tried a Union Street bag from Ona and it didn't fit near as much gear, the front pocket was near useless once lenses and a camera were put in the main compartment and it was horribly uncomfortable due to the stiff shoulder pad and very thin shoulder strap

This bag costs a few bucks, but I think it's going to be well worth it.

I ordered this case on a Monday and received it Wednesday. Talk about super service! Just an awesome case in general. Great quality, sturdy, lot of space, adjustable dividers, lots of pockets, and has a compartment for a laptop up to 17'' (don't know why people are bitching about it having a laptop compartmentif you don't have a laptop to put in there, then use that space for something else. I store my handheld and shotgun mic and some cables in that compartment, personally). I have a Panasonic DVC-80 video camera with three batteries, charger, headphones, and an AC adapter all stored in the main compartment. I also have some manuals, batteries, and various other items stored within the many pockets and pouches. Good sturdy shoulder strap with a great non-slip pad that feels great on the shoulder, and comfortable handles to boot. Fits my needs perfectly, and would buy from Ape Case again. I'd recommend this to others.

This case is much better than I ever expected. The arrangement is perfect for my needs and the yellow interior makes it easy to find things. I purchased this case to carry a Viewsonic projector, a set of small speakers and a laptop for college presentations. It holds everything perfectly. Quality and padding are also better than expected. Very happy with this purchase. May buy another for my digital camera equipment.

This is largest, most flexible camera case that I have ever seen. And oh, did I mention that it is much more affordable than most professional grade cases? The padding system is extremely flexible, and easy to adjust. All of my equipment is cradled and well protected. It even has a padded pc storage area for on-site digital analysis. I did a lot of research prior to this purchase, and I saw nothing else on the market that even came close to this case. I'll make this simple...buy this case!

Honest reviews on Ape Case Pro Digital SLR and Video Camera Luggage Case (ACPRO1600)

i bought this bag about 6 months ago. i carry it back and forth from home to work...everything is great but the fake leather pad that wraps around the handles tore and came off. i would think that at this price for a bag, they would have used leather or a better material. rest of the bag is great. i have not abused this bag in no way.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Ape Case Pro Digital SLR and Video Camera Luggage Case (ACPRO1600)

I use this bag to hold a Nikon D5100, 6 lenses, a Zoom H4n, two wireless mics, 2 shotgun mics, all the chords, all the adapters, and I use it often.

I would not trade this bag for any of the over-priced options that I was considering.

Cons There could be some more possible customizations with more/different Velcro inserts. The strap that Velcros from the laptop section to the main compartment won't stay out of the way when you move it. It could use a bit of Velcro on its top and a corresponding piece on the outside of the bag to secure it when you are needing to access the area that it spans. However, I use that area for sound equipment instead of a laptop; most people won't need to go in and out as much. The logo would be better off as a two-tone yellow and black to match the bag (yeah, I'm that petty), the dark orange seems out of place.

Pros The amount of gear it holds and the system you can develop to compartmentalize your stuff is amazing. The strap allows you to shoulder the load well. Mine is supporting what seems to be 20 25 pounds. There is no visible wear at the strap's contact points. I got what I wanted in the dual zipper opening. There is a handy business card holder inside the top flap, I use it and it is very accessible. There is also an elongated pouch up top for my most important chords (camera-data chord and video to monitor chord). There is a couple of pouches, one at either end. The forward facing pouch is a generous netting that keeps small accessories that you will access often and need rapidly. The other is a zippered pouch that offers an item a bit more privacy while still being readily available.

The bottom is holding together, the corners are holding together, the color is still sharp, the zippers all still work, and the sewing is still secure (no frays). I really doubted this purchase when I was looking around; ultimately the low price convinced me to choose. I am very, very proud of this bag and happy with the duty that it has pulled. I highly recommend this product, regardless of its affordability.

Review of Think Tank Retrospective 10-Black Small Shoulder Bag

Think Tank Retrospective 10-Black Small Shoulder Bag
Customer Ratings: 5 stars
Buy Now
Before I bought this Think Tank Retrospective 10 camera bag here, I thought long and hard about it. Camera bags are highly subjective choices, and in many cases it takes buying a few of them over a period of time to settle on the right one for your individual needs. And sometimes those needs can and do change with the changing camera gear that we use. This time I wanted to take a long-term view and settle on one that would really last for general everyday use.

This is a highly subjective and personal review from one who has gone through a number of bags over the years, and why I like this Retrospective 10 the best, and hope that my experiences can help others looking for that ideal DSLR bag.

Pros:

+ First-rate cushioned shoulder strap; soft and fully adjustable

+ Compact overall size; 13"W x 10½"H x 7"D, fits easily almost anywhere

+ Discreet outer appearance; doesn't scream "I'm a camera bag, rip me off!"

+ Excellent construction; black 1100D 'polyspun' polyester exterior fabric wears well

+ Seam-sealed rain cover; offers protection against the elements when you need it

+ YKK RC Fuse premium zippers; smooth, open easily, and do not jam

+ Carries full size DSLR with lens; room for extra lenses and additional gear

+ Organizer pocket in main compartment; holds batteries, LensPen, notepads, etc.

+ Removable carrying handle; great for grabbing bag when exiting taxis and such

+ Velcro 'Sound Silencers' on front flap; reduce noise while opening the bag

+ Clear business card holder under front flap; a place to store emergency supply

Cons:

Small issue, but segmented organizer section could have more options for pens, LensPen, etc.

General Observations:

For personal use, the Retrospective 10 turned out to be the right size as an everyday bag with its 12"W x 9½"H x 6"D interior dimensions. If you think that you need a larger size, this bag also comes in two larger sizes: the Retrospective 20 is about 2 inches deeper and the Retrospective 30 is about three inches wider then the Retrospective 10. There are other sizes and materials as well.

I chose the black, which was a departure from the original choice, the Think Tank Retrospective 10, Pinestone. As much as I liked the look and feel of the sand-washed cotton canvas material look and the Pinestone color, had to go with the black poly version for total versatility: business meetings to the beach, within two hours. And the look and feel of the Retrospective 10 in black is surprising; it's like a discrete messenger bag yet with an almost casual "old school" look. Also see the user images posted here for greater details.

The logo is a small one, unobtrusively printed on a small leather rectangle... and it's on the back of the bag. It doesn't scream at you, like those on my old cases. You know the type.

I fiddled with the interior dividers, yet returned them somewhat close to the original places. They're adjustable enough to be customized to so many types and shapes of photo gear, and the dividers will keep your gear from getting banged around, even when traveling down a rutted road in an SUV. And there are enough dividers that you can configure the Retrospective 10 the way that it best suits you.

Two wide Velcro strips secure the top flap, without the need for zippers or plastic latches that can break (speaking from experience). But they also have cleverly designed Velcro 'Sound Silencers' on the front flap to completely eliminate noise while opening the bag, and if you've ever shot inside a museum, you know how handy this can be.

As far as workmanship goes, the zipper is smooth and sturdy. Think Tank uses the premium YKK RC Fuse, and this coil zipper has a smooth and secure pull on it. It was failing zippers that jammed on another "pro" bag that brought me to Think Tank in the first place. After a tech support person from that other manufacturer suggested that I use a bar of soap to lubricate the zipper on that bag, I knew that I needed to start looking for something else. Not once have I needed to do the soap trick on this Think Tank bag.

The stitching and workmanship are exceptional, putting it simply. And it's worth noting that Think Tank offers an interesting lifetime guarantee that they call their "No Rhetoric Warranty." I read it; they're not kidding.

There's a small strap on top that's there for lifting the bag from place to place. It's also quite handy when you're taking a taxi during heavy rain or snowstorms, and need to grab the bag quickly when you're seeking shelter.

There are webbing loops on both sides of the Retrospective 10, and these can be used to quickly attach pouches such as the Think Tank Little Stuff It Belt Pouch. This is where I carry and attach my Nikon P7100 when I'm taking a full compliment of gear, and this arrangement works quite well. I have two small Nite Ize S-Biner double-gated carabineers attached to the other webbing loop to quickly clip accessories to the bag as well.

As good as the bag is, the shoulder strap is where it really shines. This is one first-rate shoulder strap with a comfortably cushioned non-slip pad. It's wider than most on the market, fully adjustable, yet soft and flexible, and the hardware is metal. This is the first bag that I've carried for a day in the field that didn't feel like it was sawing through my shoulder with every step.

In Use:

Even with a bag full of gear, the dividers are smooth enough to allow for easy removal when you need your camera or a lens quickly. Right now my Retrospective 10 is holding the following items:

> 1 Nikon D5000 w/ battery grip

> 1 Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 lens (on camera)

> 1 Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5 lens

> 1 Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5 lens

> 1 Nikon SB-400 Flash

> 1 Think Tank DSLR Battery Holder 2 (w/4 batteries)

> 1 Think Tank Pee Wee Pixel Pocket Rocket w/SD Cards

> 1 AmazonBasics Wireless Remote Control

> 1 Amazon Kindle Fire tablet w/cover

> 1 LensPen NLP-1

> 1 PowerPax Storacell "AA" 4-pack battery caddy

> 1 Compact USB charger... because you never know

> 1 Maglite "AA" Mini Flashlight

> Misc. pens, notepads, BlackBerry batteries and utility items

Should note that I'll often leave the leave the flash and some of the other items at home, depending on the day and the photos I want to take.

Like many other Think Tank bags, this Retrospective 10 comes with a seam-sealed rain cover, one specifically designed to keep the shoulder strap and carrying handle outside the rain cover, offering the gear in the bag excellent protection from the elements. This proved itself during a trip to Florida, where it was bright and sunny one minute, and three minutes later it was pouring rain. It was unexpected; I was drenched, but my camera gear stayed completely dry.

I find the same level of quality and protection in the Respective 10 as I found a couple of years ago when I got my Think Tank Artificial Intelligence 15 V. 2.0 Laptop Bag for my MacBook Pro, the first product from this company that I owned. It proved to be a sturdy replacement for another laptop bag with a failing shoulder strap.

[Update 12/2/2012]

When the seam stitching started to unravel on the large "pro" bag referenced earlier in this review, it was time to consider getting a replacement. Looked closely at the larger Retrospective 30 as a 'carry-everything' solution based on my experiences with this bag. Long story to short, I ended up getting the Think Tank CityWalker 20, which holds all of the gear mentioned here plus quite a bit more, including a tablet computer. This was not a replacement for my Retrospective 10, which is still my smaller mobile bag for on the go usage. But now I don't need to worry about weak seam stitching, failing zippers and advice that a bar of soap applied to the zippers would cure all.

Summary:

This Think Tank Retrospective 10 bag was clearly designed by and for photographers. Some might be somewhat put off by the apparent lack of order inside, as everything is accessible, and doesn't get boxed-in by hard dividers that fit nothing. It allows immediate access to your camera gear, with a good level of protection.

The Retrospective 10 is efficient as an everyday camera bag that doesn't look like a camera bag. It's understated and subtle design of the bag let you blend in instead of being labeled by your gear. This is the first camera shoulder bag that I've come across that blends great styling with an enormous carrying capacity for the gear I use most. It's a 5-star bag that is highly recommended for those who want a bag that works for you instead of against.

In my personal opinion/experience I've found Think Tank to be the brand to go to for top of the line camera bags. If you've got top of the line expensive equipment why not invest likewise in the bag?

Said that, I will try not to come off in this review as a bias "Think Tank" fan boy. To note, I have tried out other shoulder bags in camera stores and spent hours reading reviews from photographers on the field on their opinions on various camera bags before deciding upon this bag.

Then another headache and hurdle I went through was deciding upon the Pinestone or Black color (which I evidently went with the Black as it was more of a neutral color and could easily go with your various attire plus be used at more formal events).

I believe this is a fantastic bag to carry around short trails, to the beach, and especially around urban settings as a casual bag for travel. If you want something to go on for long hikes I'd probably look into getting a backpack or waistpack, in which this case I use the Think Tank Speed Demon which can be used as a smaller shoulder bag or waist pack when I want to travel even lighter. The bag is slightly heavy but feels like a Tank and could take a beating.

By no means is this a small bag, but still within a bearable size to sling around town. The comfort padding along the shoulder strap is most welcomed and even for its size another reason I do try not to over pack the bag and weigh it down. You can fit 2 bodies with non-grips (recommended to reverse in opposite directions so their prisms don't bang against one another) or you can fit your D-SLR (non grip) body + standard size zoom lens attached with 2 more lenses in this bag with no problem. The bag is pretty deep and given you could probably thrown in a couple more lenses if they were small primes. It has a designated pocket within to keep a speedlite if you so choose to desire. There is a designated zipper and non zipper pocket within the interior dimension, with the outside pocket which they say you could fit in another dslr body only or an Ipad if you so wish I personally just keep this outside pocket to keep trail food and snacks in while the zipper pocket on the other side to store the wallet, phone, and keys.

For event shooting and many other reviews you'll find on this bag the velcro options to silence the flaps is a cool feature which is very usable for events or churches. As with most Think Tank products is does give the option to attach accessories which sometimes I may loop my "R U Thirsty" Think Tank bottle carrier on one end when on a short trail or around town.

Best Deals for Think Tank Retrospective 10-Black Small Shoulder Bag

Camera bags are my man purse and haven for geek toys. I prefer satchel or bike messenger style bags: easy to squeeze through crowds, stylish but doesn't look like a camera bag. I own two other Retrospective series bags and was sure the Retrospective 10 would not disappoint.

CONSTRUCTION

The Retrospective 10 sports a quasi-military appearance and is less flashy than Crumpler or Billingham bags. Black is more stealthy than the slate (blue) and pinestone (olive) color options. Pair the R10 with a vintage leather jacket, graphic T-shirt and destructed jeans and you'll look like an urban Johnny Appleseed. Few people will suspect you're carrying expensive gear.

Although it looks like a blacks ops satchel, the polyester canvas is softer and more flexible than military grade canvas. The fit and finish are excellent inside and out, but the thoughtful details of the interior are telling: nylon lining to reduce lint, 2 installed dividers with ears, pockets galore and end flaps to help prevent rain from flowing into the main compartment.

The heavy duty strap is 2 inches wide and sports a soft and grippy shoulder pad. Compared to nylon seatbelt straps, this strap is about four times thicker. A seatbelt strap is plenty strong enough and would reduce weight. Nevertheless, the beefy strap speaks to the overall toughness of the bag design.

Although padding protection is partial, your gear is reasonably well protected in the event of a knock or fall. The bottom boasts closed cell foam padding to protect during butt drops. The top, front and sides lack padding but layers of canvas, pockets and lining are reasonable protection against light knocks and scraps.

Think Tank claims "fabric exterior treated with DWR while fabric underside is coated with PU for superior water resistance." So no problem for light rain. If it pours, water will eventually drip inside from along the edges of the flap because the main compartment lacks a zipper. In such cases you should deploy the rain cover. The gotcha with the rain cover is you can't open the bag without removing it.

The rear zippered compartment is handy to stow documents, magazines or a paperback. It will not fit a full sized iPad but an iPad Mini slides right in.

STUFFING IN GEAR

Think Tank claims a pro size DSLR with standard zoom lens attached and 3 to 4 lenses and accessories will fit. Indeed my gripless 5D MKII with 24-105 4L IS USM was swimming inside. It would fit better with a battery grip or additional divider to snug up the space. With the 5D2/24-105 stowed lens down, there is plenty of room to toss in a Speedlite 430EX, 70-200 4L IS USM and a couple more small primes or zooms. Unfortunately the dividers lack Velcro in the center so it is difficult to subdivide the compartments. All that room gets wasted if you don't want your nekid lenses rubbing together. Yes you can lay an unattached divider between your gear, but you waste time arranging the dividers each time you put the lens back.

One thing that pleased me is my 5D MKII with mounted 70-200 4L IS USM fits perfectly stowed lens down! It is almost exactly flush with the top of the compartment.

A full sized iPad fits perfectly in the front pocket as does a gripped but lensless DSLR.

GOTCHAS

* The giganormous Velcro under the front flap is too strong and loud. The built-in Velcro cover can silence the noise but nothing is holding your gear inside if the bag tips over. An partial fix: fold the silencing patch to cover 75% of the two Velcro patches. It grips but is weaker and less bothersome to use.

* Compared to similar sized bags, this bag is heavy. Not a deal breaker but at 3 LB the Retrospective 10 is a pound heavier than my Crumpler 6 Million Dollar Home, a more thickly padded bag of similar size. The extra weight is the price you pay for the vintage canvas, beefy strap and pockets galore.

* As detailed above, the lack of soft Velcro cloth in the middle of dividers makes it difficult to subdivide the compartments.

* This fabric attracts lint and hair. Yes, dark fabrics show lint more readily than medium fabrics. This trait is exasperated due to the use of static prone polyester canvas. My black Crumpler bags, made of ballistic nylon, are less prone to lint and dust attraction.

* The removable handle is too far forward and interferes with opening the top flap. Yes, you can adjust it so it is really loose and the top opens fine, but then the handle is too long. The same type of handle is used on the R5 and R7 but is set back and can be adjusted tighter without the top flap catching on it.

FINAL BURB

Although not perfect, I am pleased with this bag: handsome, stealthy, excellent fit and finish, quality materials, rugged and thoughtful design. It is pricey but boasts amazing storage within a moderate space. The soft polyester canvas molds to your body thereby taking some weight off the shoulder, making it comfy despite being heavier than average. The large capacity, comfy ride, pockets galore and inconspicuous appearance make this an ideal bag for travel or event gigs. Highly recommended!

Honest reviews on Think Tank Retrospective 10-Black Small Shoulder Bag

I got this bag in black a couple of weeks ago, and I am a pretty big fan of it. It is not my favorite bag, but it is probably the best overall bag. I will explain...

First, I want to give you an idea of the equipment that I have. I currently own a 60d with a battery grip, and I generally carry about three lenses and a flash. Those lenses are all pretty small: canon 55-250mm, Canon 50mm, Tamron 24-75mm, and a Canon 18-135. I do not have or carry something bigger like a 70-200 or anything like that. I would imagine it would fit, but it would be pretty tight.

The bag is built very well. It feels like it is made out of nice material. It my understanding that the pinestone and black are made out of different material. The pinestone being more like canvas, and the black being a little bit smoother. It seems like the material in the black would be reasonably water resistant. Think Tank also includes a rain cover if you need some more protection. The rain covers the front and sides of the bag, and it leaves the majority of the back of the bag exposed. I don't think it is that big of an issue, but it is something to consider. Also, the cover does not allow you to get your equipment when it is on. I wouldn't want to shoot in the rain, but my camera is not sealed.

The bag has a big flap that is opened and closed with velcro. The velcro patch on the bag is pretty big. I imagine it is about 3 or 4 square inches. I would feel reasonable having the bag on me when I was in public transportation because no one can sneak into it with me hearing it. But the great thing about the bag is that the velcro can be silenced if you are shooting in a church or museum. The bag allows you to cover up the patches of velcro so when you open the bag, there is no ripping noise. This would be great at a church or museum.

Outside the bag, there are two side pockets. The side pockets did not allow you to carry much of anything in it. I have placed the included rain cover in one of the outside pockets, but I can't imagine fitting anything thicker than one or two inches in the pocket. The bag also has a small loop on either side of the bag so you can expand it with some think tank lens cases or water bottle holder. If I need extra space, it fits my lowepro lens cases.

In addition to the side pockets, there is a large, zippered back pocket that can hold some small items like a kindle or smaller magazines.

Inside the bag, there is an organizational pocket in the front to keep things like memory cards, headphones, pens, wallet, etc. There is also a zippered pocket in the back on the bag for bigger things like a passport or maps. In addition there is a large gussetted pocket in the front, it can hold a lot of things. I put my ipad in its otterbox defender case in it, and it fits comfortably. You could probably put another body in there or a flash. It is a roomy, versatile pocket. And when you aren't using it, it does not take up any additional room. I wish the side pockets were like this big front pocket.

In addition, there are two pouches on the inside of the bag that is perfect for a flash. The pockets have a small strap and velcro to keep it in place. It is very handy.

The shoulder strap is very heavy duty. I imagine it is about as thick as 3 or 4 seat belts. I don't think one would have to worry about it breaking down anytime soon. The shoulder pad is pretty nice, and helps shoulder the load. It is padded and has some non-slip material on it as well.

The only problem, and I am not sure it is even a problem, is that the dividers in the bag are sort of flimsy. The weight of the camera can cause them to collapse a little bit. The dividers have flaps that allow you to cover the top of a section; the only problem with that it makes it difficult to access that section of the bag because the divider is stuck to the bag. I have other camera bags where the top part of the divider is sort of floppy, and it allows for easier access to your gear. This annoyance however can be seen as a plus as it would prevent your gear from spilling out if the bag dumped over. The floppiness of the dividers can also be a positive because it allows the bag to conform to your body making it easier to carry, more comfortable, and less bulky.

I think this bag is a great overall bag. If you were only going to get one camera bag, I think this would be a great one to get. It can expand or get small depending on what you need to carry. I use it when I travel because it can take a bunch of gear, but it is also small enough to take out when you are walking about.

This is like recommending shoes because everyone's needs are different. Some things this bag doesn't have: racing stripes, free advertising for the manufacturer, things that make it obvious you have cameras, snap swivels, combination locks, carabiners, buckles that require 3 hands and other such crap. Its just a very strong, very well thought out bag that opens and closes with Velcro. You can fold the Velcro over to silence it but when you do use it, there is no way someone can open the bag without you hearing it, so who needs all the extra latches and buckles?

It looks like a small book bag, yet I easily got my 5D, 70-200/4, 24TS and 17TS inside. There was considerable room left over but things were getting so heavy I decided to quit while I was ahead. This brings me to the only two things I wasn't crazy about. First, being canvas, the bag is 3 pounds, empty. It feels much lighter than the Crumpler bags (and makes better use of the space) but it's still 10 ounces heaver than my more or less equivalent Tamrac bags with their space age material. The other thing is that by design, the bag does not, in any way, seal out dust. On the plus side, there are nice little touches like a hand strap, a pocket for business cards and of course, lots of pockets including one that expands enough to hold an extra SLR body.

So, if you just want quick access to your gear, with a reasonable level of protection and don't want to call attention to yourself, give this bag a try.

This is a very streamlined case, ie no pockets. This is fine for me, because I keep fresh batteries and a 2G memory stick in there at all times.

It's smooth and compact and perfect for on the go.

This is a rubber like material that seems like it will do a good job protecting your camera from the elements. I have a Nikon Coolpix L20 and it fits perfectly in this case. The back of the case has a belt loop that looks to be pretty sturdy which was a nice surprise. There are no extra pockets or zippers, so if you are hoping to store accessories with your camera than this might not be the one for you.

I bought this case for the Nikon Coolpix L22 camera I purchased for my granddaughter. It's a perfect fit. After reading some of the reviews regarding the case that was recommended by Amazon to fit the same camera, I changed to this case and I'm glad I did. It goes in perfectly. I would highly recommend it.

I picked this up as an accessory for a Nikon Coolpix L20 10MP Digital Camera with 3.6 Optical Zoom and 3 inch LCD (Deep Red) as a gift, and was impressed at how snug and safe the camera felt inside of the case. It felt robust enough that it could handle accidental drops in the case without worrying about the camera or LCD breaking.

The only real downside is that the case doesn't have any pockets for spare batteries or memory cards. If you can live with that, then pick this case up.

This was suggested by the Amazon link underneath when I bought the Canon S95. I checked the physical size of the LCD on the Canon website, and they are the same (S90 and S95). But when I opened it, the zagg invisibleshield for S90 is shorter in width compare to the screen for S95. I know that Zagg made a good product, but just feel cheated when I bought this (since it is come up in the Amazon review and Canon physical LCD size confirmed it).

I have not actually used the product because it does not fit the Canon S95 model. Both the width and length are too short for the camera screen.

The package comes with one screen protector, small bottle of liquid, squeegee, and cleanning cloth.

Invisible shields are a fantastic idea. Sadly, in my experience, they never work out as great as expected. I've had several on iPods, phones, etc. I've been disappointed with each one, except the one on my iPod nano (which is decent, not great). I figured I'd try one on my camera, but it was just impossible. Trying to get it to work without air bubbles is near impossible. It's sticky to the touch, extremely messy, difficult to not get fingerprints on the inside, and ALWAYS leaves air bubbles (which drive me crazy). Even on the ones I've had professionally installed, there are bubbles. Also, the edges attract dirt and hairs over time.

I really don't recommend it.

Honest reviews on ZAGG invisibleSHIELD for Canon Powershot S90 (Screen)

I've been a fan of InvisibleShield products for several years, and have used them to protect phones, a GPS and the display screen of my DSLR. The screen of my Canon Powershot S90 had already gotten a bit beat up from carrying the camera in my pocket, so I was glad to find that Zagg offered an Invisible Shield for it. I bought the variant that covered just the LCD display on the back another version includes protectors for the front as well.

The film applied easily using the included fluid spray and squeegee. It helps that I've done this before, but if you follow the instructions carefully, you'll be fine. Small, flat pieces are easier than those that go over curved surfaces. Once done, there are no bubbles and you can't even tell the film is there unless you look very carefully. I'm quite pleased.

After I applied the screen protector, I noticed that it filled in the scratches in the screen. Unfortunately, even after many months of use, the protector is still a little sticky.

I purchased this for use on an upcoming trip. Needed something that was airline carry-on safe, but would still hold the equipment I needed to bring. The description said I could put a DSLR with or without battery grip and a 70-200 attached. Not going to happen. There is not nearly enough height (depth) to the bag to hold a camera with battery grip.... then trying to insert a laptop with the camera way too tight; I was fearful for the laptop with the pressure on it.

Other than that, when I put a non-grip DSLR in, all I could use was the 24-70; a 70-200 still wouldn't fit. It could be stored in the compartment on the side, but that doesn't have any adjustable dividers to hold it in place. There is not attachment area.... I guess some duck tape would do the trick.

Well, it is being returned .... had to fork out an extra $100 to get one that really would do what it said.

Still, a nice bag overall.

A great gear backpack that packs in my Nikon D60 with 55-200mm lens and battery grip attached, Nikon SB-600 Flash, Nikkor Lens 18-55mm and 50mm, Giottos Air Blaster, other accessories like filters, batteries, charger, Maglite, grey card, SD cards, BlackRapid Strap Sport, cables and Acer Aspire One netbook with more room to spare. Also attached outside the bag is my Manfrotto MK394-PQ tripod. It's made out of durable ballistic nylon material. Comfortable straps.

But why only four stars? It's because, unlike other camera bags, some dividers are fixed. So you can't re-calibrate dividers freely according to your needs. The bag has no quick access for your camera, you have to open the entire backside to access your camera unless you put your camera with lens in the top compartment with easy access which is a tight squeeze.

Nevertheless, this bag is worth recommending to a friend looking for a durable camera bag!

I just got my bag a day early and it is great. It was a tight squeeze for my tripod on the inside. Everything else fitted great: my Canon T1i, my external flash, my telephoto lens, my portfolio and my notebook.

The interchangeable Velcro parts were a nice touch.

It is roomy, handsome and feels good on my back.

I would recommend this to my friends.

Honest reviews on Manfrotto MB SB390-5BB VELOCE V Backpack -Black

Pros: Plenty of room for a DSLR camera with a couple of lenses and accessories such as Laptop, Battery charger, microphone, led light and mini tripod. Adjustable compartments attached with Velcro.

Cons: the bottom part do not have any rubber or reinforcement material, so when you place it on the floor is suitable to wear and tear. The straps are not as ergonomic enough. Side pockets too small

I rec'd this bag today, but it is not the same as pictured nor is it the same as the ones I saw in best buy or in camera shops. Instead of having all the fabric in the front that make up the "M"' , it is just flat surface and the "m" part is just a padded surface with some stitches outlining it.

The bag fits my Nikon D90 perfectly well, but it does not have room for other items if you have an extra lens. Four stars are for the price and quality, will update it to 5 stars if the Tripod does not break in 6 months.

Bought this mainly for the bag. The other stuff were added bonus. The bag is nice and fits my Nikon camera well with all the accessories like extra battery and all those accessories that it comes with. The cleaning kit is alright, not that great but it's free (not really free but I view it as free since I was getting this mainly for the bag). The tripod is not one of those fancy ones, but what do you expect for this price. Works as advertised.

When I started getting more serious about photography, I picked up a Domke bag that has served me very well through the years. But, as my collection of gear has grown, I was having to pick and choose what lenses and accessories to take with me when I was out shooting, which also meant I had to store some of my gear separately. I've been trying to find a bag that doesn't scream "HEY! THERE'S A CAMERA IN HERE!" for awhile now. A bonus would be being able to carry my 13" Macbook Pro as well, so I don't have to carry a camera bag and laptop when I'm out shooting or going on vacation.

I met up with a fellow photographer a few weeks back and saw his Snoop backpack. I was instantly sold!

This bag hold a really good amount of gear. I'm able to fit the following into it:

Canon 5D MKII body

Canon 50MM L lens

Canon 24-70 L MKII

Canon Speedlite 580 EX Flash

Canon 85MM Lens

Offbrand Battery Grip

Canon 35 L Lens

On the interior, there are 3 sections for storage. You open the bag on the side, so the storage is as deep as the width of the bag, which is pretty good. Each section comes with two velcro "shelves" to divide the space vertically. They are padded, removable and adjustable and the shelves and velcro are both very strong. I'm really impressed with that. Everything above is in the main compartment and I still have room to stash more lenses or probably even a second body. I try to maximize the space, so I put all of my lenses in protective bags and then try to fit two into each opening/level, before placing the velcro shelf in.

I use the center row for my battery grip and body (usually with a lens attached). The two outer rows hold my lenses and other gear. It's a really good fit and everything feels secure.

At the back of the center compartment is the laptop cubby. The bag holds up to a 17" laptop but it also fits my 13" Macbook Pro and iPad Mini perfectly. They are secure and don't move much at all in transit. One thing I didn't realize is that you can access the laptop compartment two ways. You can open the side, which is how you load the lenses and access the full interior pocket. But there is also a quarter length zipper on the top that allows you to swing the bag around and take out your laptop without ever putting the bag down. That feature is really well thought out and it gets used on my bag constantly.

It even has a convenient zipper in the middle of the door, so you can unzip it, reach in and grab your camera out without setting the bag down.

On the inside of the main door, there are 3 zippered compartments; two mesh and one concealed. I use the mesh compartment to store battery chargers and extra batteries. They aren't very big, so it's a stretch but it works. In the center compartment, I stash all of my memory cards and my remote for the shutter.

This brings me to my only gripe with this bag: it needs more pockets. There are the 3 tiny ones on the inside of the bag door and there's one exterior compartment that's also kind of small or restrictive on what it will holds. I was able to put my camera strap in (I usually use a wrist strap), a few cords and I care BARELY push in my laptop charger.

Even with that said, I really am happy with the Snoop. It's well thought out, it's very well made and it's discrete. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to carry a good amount of gear around, along with their laptop, and not look like a photographer with a bunch of gear. It's a great bag.

Looks good, feels good on my back. Has plenty of room for camera, accessories, and laptop with room to spare. It could use 1 or 2 extra easy access pockets, but that doesn't tarnish my view of it.

Best Deals for Timbuk2 Snoop Camera Pack

I am a diehard Timbuk2 fan, I've had the same laptop messenger bag for the last 7 years, after switching up from a kinda-silly messenger/backpack combo... It got drowned in Mountain Dew, and I finally found it's one true flaw the laptop liner is corduroy and non-removable, so I needed to use Damp-Rid to dry it out. Other than that, though, the years of abuse mostly came out in the wash, and the sucker looks almost brand new!

Anyway, on to the new bag! I'm a film major in college, and I'm doing a documentary senior project. That, and working as a videographer for the school newspaper's website. This has forced me to start lugging my camera and a fair bit of gear around quite a bit, and the old bag wasn't up to the task. I saw the high reviews for the messenger version of the Snoop, but I really wanted something more solid/rigid, something that could also perhaps serve as my regular bag when not in uber-video-mode.

As a camera bag, the Snoop excels, and so long as it fits under a standard airline seat (fingers crossed), I'm going to be very happy with it. I haven't quite figured out how to use the tripod straps but my tripod has its own bag, so it's kind of a non-issue. I'm already kind of wishing it had a few more pockets/secret compartments like my messenger bag the diverse size and shapes of those were really handy. Still, it's nice having the wide-open flexibility that the velcro dividers provide. Doesn't look like it'll work as a book bag, though I might be able to fit a moleskin for note taking in class, along with any homework to hand in (the outer pocket is a good fit for 8.5x11" paper).

I also like that it isn't *super* obivous, the way most of the DSLR bags are, while also not seeming like a laptop bag. If I really had a long trek somewhere to film, I could see wearing this for an extended period without any trouble... Oh yeah, which reminds me this bag feels REALLY heavy when it's empty. Kind of scarily so. But it also didn't seem that much heavier loaded (I know, weird, but). Anyway, transitioning from a messenger bag, it took a few days to get used to.

Honest reviews on Timbuk2 Snoop Camera Pack

I am able to fit my camera body along with 2 luxury lenses (the really big and heavy kind), one smaller prime lens, my external flash, external microphone, battery grip, battery chargers, laptop and laptop charger...AND THERE'S STILL SPACE LEFT!

It's also very discrete, do you dont have to worry about potential thieves salivating at the sight of this camera bag.

I really like the design of this backpack. The main compartment zipper is on the side of the backpack, so someone that might want to unzip it while you have it on has to come to the side of you instead of right behind you, especially if you have the zipper tabs meet at your back. Feels good while wearing it. I have a 500 mm lens that I carry in addition to two DSL cameras and three other lenses in the pack. I also really like the ability to move the cushions/divider around to meet the configuration of the equipment that I carry on any given day. I am a smaller female and find the backpack met my needs and isn't as tiring to wear as others I have had.

Let me just say, this bag is wonderful.

The materials are top notch, all around. The bag and strap are made of very thick, rugged canvas. The sliders and latches are all made of metal; the strap adjustment loops and zipper strips are plastic, but they seem to be very large and very tough.

The front and rear panels, the bottom, and the dividers are well padded. The small side panels are not padded, so do be aware of that. The bottom is rigid, to keep its general structure and allow it to stand on its own. The shoulder strap has a grippy material that keeps it firmly in place.

The velcro is substantial and it makes things very secure. I feel safe enough leaving the bag partially unzipped and relying on the velcro alone for quicker access. Yes, it's loud, but I'm OK with that.

I can't honestly find a single complaint, other than that it's perhaps a bit pricey. It does exactly what it says, and it just oozes quality.

I was looking for a bag specifically for traveling light with a small amount of Micro 4/3 gear, and after extensive research I was torn between this and the slightly taller (but lower volume) F-5XA. I ultimately settled on this model, and here's what I can cram in here if I'm really trying (I don't have quite this much in there for the video):

E-P2 body with one of the lenses below mounted

Olympus 17mm f/2.8

Olympus 14-42mm

Panasonic 45-200mm

Panasonic 20mm f/1.7

Olympus 50mm f/2 Macro with Micro 4/3 adapter mounted

Olympus FL-14 flash

Olympus VF1 optical viewfinder

Olympus VF2 electronic viewfinder

Spare battery/memory cards/filters/etc in the front pocket

In one completely absurd configuration, I've successfully fit my E-P2 mounted to the Olympus Zuiko 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5 Digital ED SWD Lens in this bag. It *just* fits, and you can use the velcro dividers to create a little pocket underneath the 50-200mm lens to store an m4/3 lens or two.

It does really make you appreciate how much smaller M4/3 is, and how different its needs are. What's for a SLR a small day bag (it'll hold my DSLR + mounted lens + 1 or 2 small extra lenses) can hold an entire M4/3 system.

*** Video errata ***

I think I called the flash the "FL20" it's actually the Olympus FL-14

When talking about my DSLR in this bag, I mangled what's attached and what's not attached. A typical configuration for me is DSLR + small zoom + prime + flash (or another small zoom or prime), with one lens mounted.

*** Update 04/2011 ***

After heavily using (and abusing) this bag over the past year, the fading others have described is starting to become apparent. I'm pretty sure this is due to sun exposure, and it's most apparent on the top flap. It doesn't impact the bag's performance in any way and the faded look doesn't bother me personally (hey, it's got "character" now), but if you want to avoid this you might want to consider the tan model instead of green.

But for 2.5 little quibbles, I'd have given this bag 5 stars.

Quibble # 1 is the velcro closure on the main flap. It's makes the bag far too noisy to open. I like to shoot with Leica Ms for their quiet shutters and overall "stealth". The velcro negates those advantages. A simple fix...I just removed about 90% of the velcro, leaving only enough to keep the flap closed.

Quibble #2 is with the front pockets. There are 4 of them and 3 of them are too small for anything but a pen. The largest will barely hold a Sekonic 308b exposure meter. I really wish that Domke had designed the bag with just two front pockets, but then they couldn't advertise it as having 7 compartments. I guess that the stitching between the pockets can be removed if you have the patience and a steady hand.

Quibble #2.5 is the Domke label on the front flap. I don't want to advertise to the world that I'm carrying $4,000 worth of gear in a bag that, otherwise, is almost invisible. The label is a PITA to remove. I had to use a razor knife to verrrrry carefully cut it away. This is quibble 2.5, only because, if you select the "Official White House Photographer" (or something like that) version, you may actually enjoy advertising the contents of your bag.

Now for the good stuff....

The bag is made of high quality, durable canvas. After a little use, it softens and kind of molds itself to your side. In fact, the more you use it, the better it gets. You could probably remove the padded dividers and toss the shell in with the laundry if you wanted to.

The strap is fantastic. It's a Domke "Gripper" strap. Just like the ones I use on all of my cameras. Although I tend to carry my bags/cameras "cross-chest" for security, the Gripper makes it possible to keep them on my shoulder without much danger of sliding off. The swivels keep the strap from getting twisted and save a lot of cuss words.

The interior has three compartments. I use the center one for a small body with lens attached. Usually a Leica M, but it will also hold a SMALLish SLR with short lens.

One of the other compartments is useful for a second lens or two while the third can be loaded with film.

A nice feature is that the front of the padded dividers is not attached to the front of the bag. This space is useful for extra batteries, a filter or two or other small items.

This is a SMALL bag. It probably won't be your only bag if you have anything more than a very small kit.

It's nearly perfect for the Leica M system and costs a lot less than anything comparable...think Billingham/Fogg, etc.

Just remember to remove the velcro!!

Best Deals for Domke F-5XB Shoulder/Belt Bag (Sand)

This really is a great walking around bag. Very sturdy. The gripper strap is fantastic. Because this bag is made of canvas it molds to the side of your body well: this means less movement from the bag. Big enough to hold a digital SLR such as the Canon 5D body plus any decent size lens (up through a 200mm prime). May be too small for big zooms, or big primes (i.e. above 20mm).

Not a good bag if you want to lug around lots, or even some, "stuff." But if all you want is an inconspicuous, comfortable, and reliable way to carry around one camera body plus lens this can't be beat.

Honest reviews on Domke F-5XB Shoulder/Belt Bag (Sand)

Review is based on comparing other bags I have owned.

Other packs I own or have owned that I am able to remember.

CamelBack (military spec issue) Heavy Black Nylon utility (dragged it around Iraq tossed it in humvee/trucks. Share fair of dust and grime. Total 10 year use. Looks as good as new.

Jack Wolfskin (German brand) fast/quick pack used for around town/school/travel use. 9 years dirty but still perfect (used most)

Vaude x-large internal frame pack camping. Only used for trail camping and traveling across europe. Plastic buckle broke.

Mammut small semi frame pack hiking. Good day pack. very light.

Tatonka camera bag (expired). SLR camera bag. only room for camera and lens attached. Sold it.

Tamrac camera bag good cheap bag.

US Army rucksack (expired) never used it...only my black CamelBack (I was in special team)

US Army duffel still using it for stuffing my sleeping bag, clothes etc for car camping.

Timbuk2 messenger/computer use for work.

Krumpler messenger/computer (expired)...excellent bags, but my college days are over.

Pentax SLR camera bag similar to F5XB but not canvas w/o flap. (expired) gave it to my brother with camera way back in the day.

Domke F5XB

Pros:

Basic bag that is made of tough canvas and components.

YKK zippers will probably never fail on this bag.

Gripper Strap is best standard strap ever. I can't think of any other strap bag out there.

Smaller simple design. Will fit into any back pack if needed.

Belt loop option.

Practical

Possible Cons and easy solutions:

Outside pocket (under velcro flap) does not have zipper. As a test, I stuck several credit cards in it closed the flap and shook and tossed the bag around without any cards falling out. Also easily hand sew strip of velcro to pocket.

Loud Velcro (large but very secure). Other reviewer recommended reducing the velcro size to reduce velcro noise, but I'll keep it as is.

Domke name on bag is rather large. Simply use a black permanent fabric marker and color the brand name...wait a bit and do it again for complete soak/coverage.

Name tag: just take it off.

Other bags considered over this one: Lowepro All Weather shoulder bags and Case Logic SLRC medium.

Tried out Tamrac Velocity. Good sling pack, but if I was hiking, I'd want the option to use my other backpack and either place camera bag in pack or over my shoulder across my body.

The satchel/messenger style bag is very "on the go" and one would be able to take the camera out of the bag quickly when not zipped. The velcro is large and secure so chances of camera or lens falling out when not zipped is unlikely. The foam padding is just enough. My Tatonka bag had overkill padding that was essentially the same size as this Domke bag. Good stitching and made in the US to support American labor. The flap is customizable by easily sewing patches or drawing on it. I'll keep mine black. The sides have "attachment" loops for additional Domke lens case or pouches that are available as canvas. To use the belt option, use a thick belt to keep bag from sagging too much. Perfect size to put into any of my bags, when needed, without taking too much space.

STRAP STRAP STRAP awesome strap. All my other shoulder strap bags slip off and causes pressure on shoulders. This strap seems to somehow distribute the weight well. The gripper keeps the strap in place=keeps bag in place on your body.

Main compartment:Canon Xsi attached Tamron 18-250, Tamron Ultra Wide, and Canon poorman's 50mm,

Inside pocket: extra batteries, extra card,

Outside pocket: space for keys (front pocket only to prevent scratch), chewing gum, small folding knife w/clip (front again), cleaning/dustfree papers or cloths in empty Altoids container.

Overall, based on my experience of having bags that perform for specific purposes, this small camera messenger type bag is excellent and well worth the price paid.

Hope this helps you to decide.

This bag is well suited for traveling light with not much equipment. The bag is very inconspicuous as far as camera bags go, and the Domke logo on the front can easily be removed or altered to make it even less identifiable as a camera bag (the label is only attached to the bags at the ends).

This is a great everyday bag to tote around a 35mm rangefinder or small SLR, some film, and a second lens or _maybe_ a light meter. I've also used this bag to carry a Mamiya 645 Pro TL with a 55mm f/2.8 or 80mm f/2.8 and metered prism finder attached. The front pocket is pretty slim and can hold a small notepad, pen, business cards, and other items of the like. The velcro in the front is quite noisy when opening, and I will probably modify it to reduce some noise. Overall this bag is exactly what I was expecting.

I ordered this camera case for my Canon camera because I read several reviews listed connected to this case.

I am not disappointed! The case is slim, can slip into my pocket of my shorts as its summer time n there are so many beautiful flower's with bees getting nectur, just amazing to catch the moment...I just love the easy magnet opening feature, which reduces time to open the case that other cases have zippers which require both hands to open. By the time you open those cases the pic which you wanted is gone. The price is also very reasonable, especially for a leather case.

First and foremost, I am a very picky and anal when it comes to quality of the products. I am very straight forward to people if the quality or service is garbage. With this product I am very please with the quality for the price. The outside case has that typical leather feeling like the other camera case you get from BestBuy. The inside case has this soft swede texture feel which feels great to the hand. All in all, I recommend this product if your looking for a great bang for your money. The reason why I didn't give it a 5/5 star was because of the tracking number was not given to me. I had to email the seller for my tracking number which took 1 day for them to respond. I know you guys are probably like, it's only 1 day. I have experience from other sellers that it only takes 1-2hrs they reply back to me. Like I said I'm very anal when it comes to product and services. Anyways I'm happy for the product 5/5 for the product. 4/5 for the services. Video review click here:

I just received this Kata Sling bag/case today from Amazon, so obviously I cannot speak for the product's long-term durability. HOWEVER, it does seem extremely sturdy and very well designed. I bought this to carry my Canon HV30 and although it's a hair tight, I prefer it that way since I was looking for something small yet "trustworthy" to carry my new camera while vacationing. I particularly like the ribbed external shell, which will avoid damage to the camera should I bump into something or somebody. And despite the tight fit, there is plenty of room in the auxiliary pockets for an extra battery, tape and perhaps one other small object.

Note to the macho men: All the photos you will see of this product in use show a woman using it, which initially turned me off, but never fear; it looks fine on guys. One way or another, you will be won over by its practicality and comfort.

I will be returning from a Disney vacation before the end of the month. If I experience ANY issues whatsoever, I promise everyone out there that I will post another review.

This will do what we're after, which is a sling bag to carry a small camera, small bottle of bug spray, ID, smartphone and keys while doing a one hour hike at the local park. We like to wear either shorts or warm ups while fast walking and waist bags aren't fun and using pockets not an option for that much stuff. This does it.

BUT, it is quite small. The model they used for this picture must have been quite petite.

It is clearly well made, substantial, and protective. But not practical why have such big bag overall when only a pocket size camera will fit in the compartment? Does not fit fugi x10 with lens hood, which is not big at all. Also, it is black based on the picture, I thought it would be lighter. Disappointed it is going back.

I could live in Colombia clothing, with Kata Bags carrying all my stuff.

Wanted to get this for shooting stills and video on two cameras on a media mission trip. Needed a bag to do quick swaps between the two smaller cameras. A Sony Handycam, fitting in my palm, and a mid size mega zoom point and shoot.

This bag is very well made, with several handy pockets and could work as a waist bag just as well, but only big enough for a larger rectangular point and shoot, nothing with a lens sticking out. The girl they show wearing the bag must be about 4foot tall...

Great bag, but a bit too small...

I have two of their other bags, one that will hold a 13" laptop, and another for a 19", both great!

i bought this to make it possible to carry about a small videocam while leaving my hands free when necessary while out walking my dog. it's very well built, has small pockets for extras such as an sd card or battery and has served its purpose very well. glad i bought it and would buy it again.
