I have previously used the Otter cases, but my brother raved about these, so I went ahead and got this one to hold my Solite headlamp.

I'm definitely impressed! It's waterproof and lined on the bottom with a rubber material. It's waterproof and has a vent valve in front for sudden pressure changes. It's constructed very sturdily and will take a lot of abuse. I really like having the clear top so that I don't have to open it to make sure everything is in there.

As I am about to spend a lot of time at swimming pools & aqua parks over the summer break with the children, I wanted something small that would hold my valuables (key, cell, money etc). This works great, big enough to hold everything I need to take, not too heavy to carry. Excellent!

Pelican cases have been my goto for anything I need ot stay dry and safe. This case lives up to the standard I expected, but I will say the cler plastic is not as tough as the solid colored stuff. This one is not for a high strength application so I would rather have the visibility, but be warned. It feels like it might shatter if dropped.

I paid a little extra to attach a Nikon float to my new Nikon camera. I was surprised that I was shipped a Polaroid product. Oh well.. It is not the end of the world. I tested the float and it easily supported the weight my new Nikon AW110. Be advised that the device will not fit snugly around your wrist and may fall off over your hand. I am 6ft 7in with big hands and it can fall off over my hand. If it does fall off, at least you will need to look up instead of down :-).

We bought this for our underwater camera and it was fantastic. We didnt worry about losing the camera because this really kept it afloat, and the wrist strap was adjustable to fit whoever was wearing it. Not too bulky either.

I was hoping the padding would compensate for the extra 0.9 mm of the camera height, which it did. The height and depth fit just fine. However the width did not fit. It claims to be 11.0 cm but it cannot fit a 10.6 cm object. You *can* jam it in though. I will return it instead.

3 stars for the manufacturer listing crappy dimensions. Otherwise the case looks fine.

Excellent, quality camera case from Lowepro. I had purchased a Lowepro Rezo 30 for my Panasonic LX3 previously. It fit but it was too tight and had trouble getting it in and out of the case. The Geneva 30 camera case fits my LX3 just perfect. It fits like a glove. Doesn't give me much room to place anything else inside except memory cards. The only reason I don't use the provided shoulder strap is because I can't fit the existing shoulder strap of the LX3. I just leave it hanging outside and use that as a shoulder strap. The inside is very soft and is padded nicely. The zipper has a lining to protect against scratching/touching your camera. What I like best about this camera case that the Rezo 30 doesn't have is the velcro loop. The Rezo 30 had a belt loop but what sucked was having to take my belt on and off to put the bag on. The Geneva 30 solved that problem for me. Just undo the velcro loop and loop it around my belt and voila. No more falling pants when I take the belt off. Overall, a great, quality, camera bag. If you need some protection for your camera without lots of bulk then this will fit the bill.

The Lowepro Geneva 30 fits my Sony DSC-HX9V like a glove. There is just enough room in the inside pocket for a spare battery and SD card. Probably the best feature to me is the velcro belt strap. No need to be opening your belt to take the case off or put it on and the overlapping velcro makes it virtually impossible for the case to come off accidentally.

I bought a new Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS25 and searched the web for a camera case. I have bought Lowepro cases in the past and went to their site and found the Geneva 30 case and ordered it on Amazon. It fit the camera perfectly. I wanted a case that I could put a strap on to wear around my waist when walk and the Lowepro had one, although I use another strap because it is easier to get on and off. We just returned from 2 and a half weeks in England and I couldn't have been happier with my choice.

I bought this housing case for my SD450 last month for my trip to Aruba last week. The first few times I used it, it was great. I snorkeled at the Antilles shipwreck and got great pictures of fish, coral, etc. After coming in contact with salt water, I washed it so it the metal parts wouldnt rust and let everything dry for the next day's adventure. Well, when we went to the pool, the case leaked and soaked my camera. It turns out the o-ring that creates the seal had some how enlarged (as if it was stretched out) so when I closed the case, a pinch of the rubber was out of the case and thus not having a water tight seal. It was quite the inconvenience during my vacation, but after contacting Canon, they're going to repair the camera and look into the case. Just be careful and check that everything is REALLY sealed before going into the water.

EDIT: Canon sent me a refurb camera and a new case since the camera was beyond repair. I have since used the case while snorkeling at the Caymen Islands, kayaking in San Diego and have brought it to the famous Schlitterbahn waterpark a few times. It really comes in handy when you can take your own pictures and not have to pay $20 for a picture someone else took. I'm vacationing to Alaska this year and will definitely be bringing the camera and case along when I go kayaking!

This case worked perfectly on a recent snorkeling vacation. I had read reviews saying the O-ring/gasket had pinched when case closed not providing a good seal and instantly ruining a camera. This occurs most commonly after you have removed the O-ring to lubricate it with the silicone grease. The case is clear and you can easily see if pinching is happening if you look for it. Indeed the O-ring did pinch in one spot as I closed the case on the second day of use. I readjusted the O-ring slightly and closed the case again without any pinching of the O-ring. I suspect the camera would have been ruined on the second day if I had not seen reviews stressing the need to check the O-ring for proper seal as you close the case each time. I bought this to protect my camera from dust storms in the Blackrock desert. I is perfect for this. It also protected my camera from occasional water spray and sweat. Many people told me their digital cameras were ruined from dust getting in the zoom mechanism of the lens. The buttons are all accessible and easy to use. It's very easy to take in and out. The only problem is you can't record sound when taking video, but what would you expect if the case is water submersible.

The product worked well until we forgot to dutifully check the seal one time. Oops. There must've been a hair or piece of dust that compromised the seal. Our camera met its match in the salt water. Luckily, it was the second to last day of our three week vacation, and we were able to salvage the memory card. My advice to folks who buy this product is to ALWAYS check & double-check the seal. I would also recommend dunking it in freshwater before taking it into saltwater. If there is a small freshwater leak, you can usually dry it without the devastating corrosive effects of a full-on saltwater leak.

After some extensive research and try-ons, Case Logic SLRC-205 Camera Sling Bag is my current favorite bag to carry my small DSLR (Olympus E-620) and two lenses (one attached to the body).

Case Logic must have a great design team that cares. They seem to put a lot of attention on the design that not only looks good, but also very utilitarian. They keep improving the holder for the camera body with a lens attached in their camera back, the latest hammock design exhibits that. It's a very simple design that will suit various camera configuration. Such effort deserve to be praised.

It's a pleasure to carry this bag. Weight distribution of a sling bag is crucial, as the load is stressed on one shoulder (in this case, left, and there's no right shoulder option as noted by another reviewer). However, Case Logic SLRC-205 feels like feather when I put it on me with the bag fully loaded (~5 lbs. of equipment).

In the main compartment, I have put an Olympus E-620 (around the size of Canon XSi/T1i) with Zuiko 14-45mm II (3.5" long, 3" diam.) attached with hood reversed. It still has some room at the bottom to store my 50mm macro lens if desired. However, I squeezed my Giottos large rocket Blower Giottos in. It's a tight fit for that configuration. A larger camera body may have a hard time getting in without removing the neck strap. I had the quick release plate of my tripod attached to the bottom of the camera and it's a tight fit, but no problem. There is no problem in term of horizontal space.

In the extra lens pocket I was able to put a Zuiko 50-200mm in (6 1/4" long, 3.5" diam.) with its gigantic hood reversed and tripod holder attached, which makes it around 5 1/4" wide, and the pocket still has some room to spare. The nice little touch about that pocket is it has an elastic band near the bottom. I forgot to zip the bag up once, after I changed my lens, and that elastic band held the lens closer to the bag, saved my precious lens from an irreversible disaster (though a smaller lens might have felt through, so don't bet your life on it, but it's a nice contingency design).

There is also a spare pocket for small things like memory cards, battery and trinkets (I also put lens cleaning pens inside). It is more accessible than the side pocket, which is blocked by the tripod holder. My other gripe about that side pocket is it's not deep enough for a standard novel-size camera manual. I just wish there is one non-flat type pocket dedicated for larger item such as the rocket blower, and some pen holders for my lens pens. A cellphone/iPod holder on the shoulder strap would be a nice touch.

There is a filter pocket! I love the design team. They were able to squeeze so many features in a compact bag, and all except the side pocket mentioned are readily accessible when you swing the back to the front, without having to take the bag off (which is the shortcoming of a backpack style bag). The two filter nets inside it hold 67mm filters fine, though the smaller one is better suited for a 58mm filter.

The tripod holder is wonderful. I have a full-size aluminum tripod (Dolica 62" Proline with Ballhead) retracted and stored in its dedicated tripod bag. Using the two Velcro closure, the tripod was piggybacked onto the back and doesn't shift around. The tripod is longer than the sling so I won't carry a tripod that way to a crowded place. However it's nice to free your hand if you're hiking.

The shoulder strap is very comfortable and well padded. The length control is a bit weird. Instead of that plastic thing you would loop around twice, you pull the extra strap to the desired length and then roll it up like an omelet, then fasten it with a Velcro strap. I prefer the traditional plastic loop (when done right, the loop is actually more secure).

The interior padding is okay only. It's not super thick, but should be okay for minor impact. The part I'm more worried about is the spare lens pocket, as it's more exposed. Main compartment should endure concoction more. The interior material is made of high quality nylon. It feels smooth and I don't believe it'll scratch the equipment (just don't rub the lens glass with it).

There are handles tactically placed. I don't feel the content will fall out when using them. While the zippers secure the bags well, but the main compartment's zipper could be smoother when zipped around the corner.

Minor gripe. Though Case Logic team deserves the recognition, but I wish the logo can be a little more low profile. It's not gigantic or hideous, but when I see the sunshine logo, I know who made the bag already. The way it is put now, it looks like a camera bag, which is not something I like to flaunt about (i.e., rob me!). I also wish the side pocket and the main compartment have a more joint look, so it looks more like a regular sling bag. As of now, the main compartment looks alarmingly like a camera holster.... A discreet, understated design is the best attention grabber.

Overall, it's a very well-designed bag for a small DSLR with two lenses. Importantly, it is in a compact design with good ergonomics and holds all the crucial items. I just wish Case Logic design team could add one more pocket for lens cleaning supply, or perhaps one pocket for iPod/cellphone on the shoulder strap. Case Logic team deserves the praise.

Hi Everyone,

So, my wife and I are wedding photographers. We've been looking for a good bag for quite a while to carry our camera & lenses. We've checked out the other major brands (including crumpler) and many of the more popular choices ... and then as came across this one (the case logic SLR sling).

I have to say, we really love it. So, to point out a few good things:

1 It looks pretty good and doesn't scream 'camera in here!' (good when traveling)

2 It can easily hold 3 lenses at a time, including the Canon 70-200 2.8L IS. The 70-200 can actually fit in the main compartment with another smaller lens (like the 135 f2 or the 100mm 2.8 macro) or it can fit alone in the extra top compartment with the hood on backwards! To clarify even more, the 135 + 70-200 with hoods on can fit in the main compartment without a problem (it is tight though, but tight is good). Oh, one last note here it can hold 4 lenses if packing smartly 70-200 + 135 in main compartment and 14mm 2.8L + 50mm 1.2L in the top compartment.

3 It works as intended. The sling capability (the ability to bring it to your front) is invaluable. It makes is -veryeasy to get out the lens you want without taking off the pack AND it can make you feel secure in areas where you want to keep an eye out for pickpockets.

4 The quick release clip on the front is just great hands down, great. If you are just getting to a location, an event is about to happen, you can quickly release the pack, place it on the ground, and be shooting within seconds.

5 The material is very nice and breathable.

6 The extra small compartments for cards, etc, are very handy. We found ourselves putting keys/memory cards up front and putting more sensitive items behind the tripod strap (which works very well).

Hands down, we'd recommend this.

Downside: We had ours altered as we are too small for it to fit. We just had the strap moved up where it connects over the chest. Fits like a charm now. Cost us all of $7.

Quick last note for nearly any lens combination, the bag could fit at least three. Such as the 24-70 2.8L + 85 1.2L. We found ourselves putting one lens below the camera holder/sling inside and one above so that they did not hit each other. And then we'd just have 1-2 lenses in the extra compartment. If you want to store your camera in the bag, a 5D Mk II + 24-70, 85 1.2, 100 2.8, 135 2.0, ... etc fit in the middle compartment without a problem. In fact, we could fit the 5D Mk II + 24-70 (hood backwards) in the middle compartment (not using the internal sling type device) and still have room to put a 580 EX II flash ontop of it. The only lens that doesn't fit with the camera body attached would be the 70-200 2.8L IS or any lens of that length.

For us, we are able to carry 5 lenses, 2 580 EX II's, and a 430 EX II with radio popper stand in two bags at once.

Highly recommended and also highly recommended to have the strap altered so that the bag fits you properly. Otherwise, it can be a waste of money unless you are 6'5".

Edit: I should say that we just got back from a 2 week trip for a destination wedding in Europe and these bags were invaluable. We kept our passport, IDs, cash & cards in the inner pocket behind the tripod strap and had no problem. In busy areas, we just slung them around for a bit more security. They were comfortable to wear the entire trip without a problem and carried all the lenses + flashes + tripod + modifiers we needed for the wedding. For just sight seeing, etc, they still held everything we needed (had room to even carry personal items with us, like water, etc).

I spent a lot of time researching sling-style DSLR cases and this is by far the best I have seen. I've owned one for a few months already and I have no complaints.

Comfort adjustable, padded strap allows the bag to wrap around your torso for a comfortable fit. Sometimes I even forget that it's there. I cannot say the same for the boxy-style camera bags, they just feel out of palce.

Storage The main compartment has the hammock suspension system, which I think offers good restraint and easy access to your camera: just unzip the top cover and reach for the camera. The compartment is deep enough to fit a super-tele lens attached to the body, or an attached medium sized prime with room at the bottom for another lens. Another compartment has room for two more medium sized lenses or a lens and a charger. A few more zippered pockets offer room for small gadgets like wireless remote control, USB card reader, some filters, lens cleaning gear.

Protection there's enough padding to keep your toys safe, though I wouldn't get on crowded bus with it.

Style This is the only case I have seen that actually looks great, and not really like a camera bag bonus points for that; last thing you want is to advertise your stash of expensive toys.

Worth mentioning a hook and loop tripod holder; pretty useful for a light tripod, though the bag will get heavy if you're going on a long hike. Build quality is good, feels like money worth spending.

Kudos to the designer of this case.

I spent days looking for a sling bag before I bought this one. I travel light, but have a Canon 5D, plus a 28-135mm lens and a 70-300mm telephoto lens. I wanted a sling pack to slide my small amount of other personal stuff into while traveling in (potentially shady) areas (and non-shady ones).

Verdict: I love this bag. It is so awesome. The hammock is so cool. But there are some other things to consider:

1. It is going to be very annoying to constantly stop, slide the bag around and take photos. The bag needs some breaking in at the beginning; it is very stiff (and that is a GOOD thing). If buying it for a vacation, take it out for a romp BEFORE your trip to soften it up and get used to the maneuvers required to load and unload your camera. I only say that because it has an usual design.

2. The height of my 5D (from the bottom, set down, to the top near where the flash module would hook into) seems uncomfortable fit-wise into the hammock compartment. I am not sure if an EOS 1or 5D with one of those battery pack grippers would be able to fit into this compartment. My 5d JUST fits. However, a camera with a full telephoto lens might fit in here without disassembly. There is a lot of space in the hammock for a longer lens than my 28-135mm lens.

3. In order to use this, it is really optimal to remove any other protection: ie, camera armor (which I had) and the strap. To keep the strap on while storing the camera in the bag is to add serious and repetitive frustration to your life when you unloadand load the camera back into the bag. There is just not space for the strap in the compartment.

4. There is limited space for much else if you have a telephoto & default lens. The small side pocket has space for my mini tripod, my folded strap and a few lens caps. The flat pocket over the camera hammock fits something flat, like a manual and some papers or whatever. There are a few other nooks and crannies but don't expect this to double as a backpack for personal items if you have a lot of stuff. It will fit a camera, a manual, a mini tripod, some other various doo-dads, 2 lenses (one on, one off), and a small variety of whatever else.

Regardless of the above items, I think this is a fantastic bag and is totally worth the money. I hope it lasts long enough to carry my camera to the Southwestern USA, Denmark, Norway, Bermuda and throughout my winter of snowshoeing and winter sports! The padding is awesome and it is very sturdy. When this bag dies, I hope I can buy another one. Perfect for an on-the-go photographer.

Recently my wife and I were traveling abroad for 3 weeks and I needed a bag to carry some of my camera equipment around with me. I didn't want a full on backpack and a fanny pack was out of the questions. Shoulder bags just looked silly for some reason and I found this bag and the Incase DSLR Sling Pack in Black CL58032. I ordered both as I felt like I needed to see them in person to really decide.

They both go on the same way (one should strap that goes on across your body) and fit just fine. The incase bag was much larger and looked like it would be holding expensive things inside. One of the things I wanted was for this bag to be pretty unassuming I didn't want to announce to everyone I have a few thousand dollars of camera equipment inside. Both bags were also very well built.

The case logic bag has a very breathable material on the back which made it very comfortable to wear for 10 hours straight when walking around and hiking. To get access to the camera you don't have to take the bag off, it just slides around and opens up to the camera 'hammock' which is great. The two side pockets are also very easy to get to in this position and I keep an extra lens or two in there along with batteries and memory cards. When you are just walking around you also have access to a small pocket in the strap which I keep a cloth in.

To give you an idea of what I can fit in this, I usually carried:

I was very disappointed that Tamrac Evolution Messenger bags have several design flaws that make them unsuitable for carrying cameras. The deal breaker for me is the top flap does not cover the entire width of the bag. In fact, both sides make a sort of funnel that welcomes moisture, dust and debris into the bag. The flap secures with both noisy Velcro and a clip. I'd prefer just the clip. The laptop/iPad pocket walls should be more rigid. The lift out camera caddy seems like a design compromise because it makes the bag too deep, so it doesn't hug your body very well. Finally, the bag is top heavy with a camera loaded as per instructions. It flops on its side when you sit it down. Some rigidity to the bottom would be welcome.

I returned the bag for a refund.

Form & Function:

I would not classify this case as "road-worthy", meaning if you are looking for a case that can take a beating and withstand very rough handling, then look elsewhere this case will not last under abusive conditions. However, if you are looking for a case to keep your gear organized and give the illusion of professionalism for a bargain, then this is the case for you.

I think the case will handle the occasional drop and mishandling, but I fear it will begin show that kind of wear-and-tear quickly. But, if cared for, you'll get some pretty good mileage out of it.

I'm not using the "dividers" so I can not comment on how well the work. I can say that they are consistent with the rest of case as far as value and construction.

Now for the important stuff customizing the foam inserts...

1) I did not expect the 3 layers of foam, of which, only 1 is perforate, pre-diced. All 3 are removable. (Be careful not to pull up the foam backing that's covering the bottom of the case it is the same foam as the 1/2" blanket/layer...)

2) The perforations run the whole depth of the 3" layer. So, when you start pulling the squares out to form your custom inserts, you can NOT customize how deep you need them. If wanted, you can try to cut them at the point where you want the depth to be, but I found it easier to just remove the entire section remember, this layer is only about 3" thick anyway...

3) The 2" solid layer is removable and is laying under the 3" perforated layer. (I actually had to cut a custom insert section in this layer as well to accommodate a bigger item...)

4) The 1/2" layer is like blanket that originally lay on top of the 3" perforated layer. I've since relocated it to the bottom under the 2" layer so that means from the bottom up, the layers are: 1/2", then 2", and 3" at the top, obviously to expose the custom inserts.

Summary:

The case is a really good value. For the size, the customizable foam layers, and numerous dividers, you really get a great value for your money. Keep in mind that the case is NOT built for a rugged/rough adventure, but rather for customized organization, protective storage, and transportation of your precious equipment. I was a little reluctant at first to buy this, because most of these type of cases are cheap and flimsy, but I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. I shopped around online for a few days looking for something reasonably priced that looked good, and I'm glad I chose to look here. Most cases of this quality are at least twice the price elsewhere, so it's a good find.

This case has nice corners and strong side panels. Many reviews claim that the sides are made from plastic, but I have purchased 4 of these and all are made from thin aluminum...perhaps I am just lucky. Yes, the aluminum is thin, but it's adequate protection for those planning to take care of their cases. However, If you are planning on standing on it or taking it on your next excursion up Everest, then look elsewhere. The corners are chrome plated stamped steel secured by rivets, and the grey rails which cover the panel seams are sturdy aluminum. The latches hold strong, and the handle, although chrome plated plastic, fits well into the hand. The lid stays upright when open, which most cases do not. The locks on the latches are cool to look at, but they do not off any real protection...a nail file from a set of nail clippers can be used to open them. Many gave bad reviews because of this, but who cares anyway? Are we actually expecting Fort Knox security for $30? Even if the locks could withstand a hammer and chisel , the rest of the case wouldn't, so why expect expensive locks? The colors used in this case are very pleasing to the eye and at first glance. Fresh out of the box, it looks like something you paid $200 for, which put a smile on my face immediately. The combination of chrome, dark grey, and light grey really make it look like a high end equipment case. The carry strap is very functional and the rivets which hold it onto each side of the case are very strong. I have carried nearly 60 pounds in these cases with no problem. The lid's hinge seems to work pretty good as well...hardly any play in them.

As for the interior, it is also well done. The pick and pluck foam insert is easy to work with, and easily customizes to any size or shape. Although the foam inside is diced and can be plucked, you will still need to use a sharp X-acto knife to make things easier. Also, keep in mind that it comes apart in tiny squares, so any pocket you make will have a blocky type shape to it. If you want round edges and smooth shapes, you're going to have some serious trimming to do. I made a mistake when doing mine, by making one space a little too big. Be sure to save all your plucked foam until you're happy with the final placement of all your equipment! I was easily able to make it the right size by taking some of the picked off smaller pieces and gluing them back together with standard rubber cement. Don't use super glue or it will melt the foam and turn it white...super glue can leave a white residue after it dries. The case also comes with a set of dividers for more customization, and they too can be trimmed, but you're going to need a saw for a clean cut as they are made from wood covered in a thin rubbery material.

Overall, this is a great case for the money, and shipping was very fast! I highly suggest getting one of these if you're on a budget. I'm a paranormal investigator, and this holds all my delicate electronic equipment very well. I have over $1,000 of equipment in one of them, and I do not worry about it being protected. I get many compliments from my clients, who tell me that these are very professional looking. I have suggested all my team members use these cases, and I will be buying more of them!

Even with shipping included this Zeikos ZE-HC36 Medium Hard Case came out to $36.44 which is much less than the comparable size of the major name brand. My thinking was that this would appear cheap & probably show signs of use after the slightest bumps & bruises but "who cares". I wasn't buying it to show it off. I was buying it to protect a camcorder, shotgun microphone, lens & various other items anyone of which cost considerably more than the case.

It wasn't made to survive a combat zone but I was a little surprised to find the build quality is better than I expected. This thing costs marginally more than a decent softbag. The difference being that if either were to fall off of a table or bang against a door jam you might seriously damage anything in a softbag. On the other hand the Zeikos may get marred or scuffed up but what's in it will be protected & that's all that really counts for me. The upside is that if I make even the slightest effort to take care of this case, what's in it will never suffer any damage.

The size is big enough to hold everything I needed except the tripod & I already have a bag for that. I have not cut the foam insert yet as I'm still waiting for the 4x ZOOM lens. Once I have everything I want to store in the case I will lay it out & it will be a breeze to set up form fitting spaces for each item as the foam is pre-cut.

I bought this case from an Amazon affiliate, "Electronics Club" & they sent me an E-mail saying it would be shipped on September 11th. They must have used a time warp to ship it because I received on September 9th. Over-all I'm real happy I could spend less than $50 for the piece of mind that I could protect over a $1,500 worth of sensitive & fragile camcorder & accessories.

If you're looking for a hard case that won't cost an arm & a leg, this is it.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I pretty much have to agree with other reviews that talk about the small size of this bag. It's definitely quite limited in what it can carry....but it does work for me in some situations. It *does* hold my Canon 40D with Tamron 18-270mm super-zoom attached along with my 540EX flash and a extra 50mm lens, so would be a reasonable bag for me to use on trips when I am not able to bring a selection of lenses with me. I am not a person that can carry much equipment with me in the field due to physical problems, so I really need a bag that is comfortable and can handle at least this amount of equipment. I do wish the interior dividers and velcro had a few more optional placements, you're pretty restricted in how they can be placed.

You'll find many, many interior compartments and stuff hidden away in this bag, including a nice rain cover for the camera on the inside, and for the entire bag on the outside. The tripod holder flap can be tucked inside, as well as the additional waist strap. There almost to me seem to be *too* many compartments. I don't need so many that I end up having to remember where I put what item and unzipping a dozen pockets to find it. But I'm sure a lot of photo geeks love that kind of thing.

While I do love the sling design in terms of it helping to relieve some of the weight that is so problematic for me, I do have to add that it's not the easiest (or most flattering) thing for many women to wear, particularly if you are, umm, well-endowed shall we say. I basically have to either push the strap up in which case it is practically strangling me, or move it slightly down which umm, pushes other things UP. The second strap which is described as a "waist strap" actually comes up creating sort of an X in front, just making the whole thing look even worse (like a huge push-up bra worn on the outside). I'm not sure there's really a good solution to this, but women might want to try one of these in a local camera store to see how much it bothers them before purchasing.

It has one curved, padded shoulder strap so that you can carry it over your left shoulder. There is also a small nylon hand strap at the top of the bag for carrying the bag, but it is 1" in width and is not padded. There are a number of pockets and compartments for carrying an array of items. You can also carry a tripod or mono-pod on the side of the bag.

The main issue may be whether the bag is large enough from your camera and gear. The main compartment has three subdividers that are held in place by velcro so that you can adjust the size of the subcompartments or remove the subdividers completely. The size of the main compartment is approximately 10" wide, by 7" (which would be the maximum distance from the back of your camera to the front end of your lense), to about 5" in height at most (which would be the maximum height of a single lense standing up in one of the subcompartments. The flap for the main compartment has two small pockets for memory cards. There is a secondary compartment at the top of the bag that is 7" wide at the bottom and narrows to 4 at the top, and about 4" deep. There are a couple other smaller compartments on the bag also. And then within the compartments are smaller storage pockets.

The only thing that I didn't care much for was a strap that crosses the zipper of the cover to the main compartment that has two Travato side release buckles. If you secure the strap with the 2 buckles, then you have to release the buckles to unzip the cover. Then when you want to zip the compartment up again, the buckles tend to fall across the zipper and you have to pick them up to zip the bag up.

I am a Lowepro fanatic. Every bag I own is Lowepro except for one multi-purpose Tenba Messenger bag (which is incredible by the way). I own the X300, a couple of Stealth reporters, the Slingshot 202 AW and the 302 AW. I shoot with a Nikon D300s w/MB-D10 (battery pack), Giottos quick release tripod plate, all Nikon lenses, and ALWAYS carry at least two speedlights(SB-900 or up to 3 SB-700's) w/ diffusers and small light modifiers (such as Lumiquest's line), and a heavy assortment of other gear. I needed a smaller bag to carry a minimum amount of gear mainly on family outings. Of course, a minimum amount of gear is subjective to each photographer. This bag severely (emphasis added) limits what I can carry.

The bag is constructed in the usual Lowepro high quality and high design standards. The only issue I have is that it is just too small. By the product images, you would not suspect it of being so small. Imagine my surprise when I realized it barely fit my D300s with an attached Nikon 17-55. THAT'S IT for the main compartment! To fit it, I had to remove the supplied configuration (all the padding) and put the camera in sideways. Even then, the top of the camera does not really fit, I had to stretch the bag as I closed the zippers. There is no more room in the main compartment for another lens or flash. End of story. The inside lid of the main compartment, the 102 has two Velcro-closure memory card pockets, so you can leave your memory card wallet at home. The Lowepro microfiber cloth was moved from previous models to the left of the compartment, which is kind of nice since it always got in the way with other models. Also, this version, like previous versions, includes the built in rain cover.

The secondary compartment (top of bag) can hold either a small lens, flash, or an assortment of small gear (cables, etc). But, it cannot hold all three or even two of those items. In my case, I use it to hold one SB-700 flash and diffuser and that barely fits. Inside that compartment is a smaller pocket for miscellaneous items that functions well. In my case, it holds spare AA batteries. On the outside of the bag, you have a smaller vertical zipper pouch at the top replaces Slip Lock Attachment loop) that would be another great place for batteries or your keys. But, the SlipLock Attachment Loop that used to be there on previous models is now gone. The addition of a tripod buckle, cinch strap, and hideaway foldout tripod feet pouch on the side of the 102 is a nice feature improvement. On previous models, you had 3 SlipLock Attachment Loops, 2 on the back and 1 on the side, that you could use to try to carry gear such as a tripod or monopod. The design feature improves carrying such a device compared to previous model's, but the size of the bag makes it impractical to attach anything but a low-end consumer grade tripod.

A lot of reviewers have complained about the fit of the Slingshot series, especially on women and big men. They are entirely correct. The Slingshot strap rides across the front of your chest. Women with large breasts may simply not like this feature. Larger men may have a problem as well. You can carry the bag slung over the right or left shoulder for comparatively shorter periods of time (compared to slinging it over your back). But that defeats the purpose.

In short, if you are use a pro-level DSLR with attached grip, you will just be able to use this bagbarely. Forget about carrying a Nikon 70-200 2.8 though. I barely got my 17-55 to fit. This bag is a minimalist bag at most. This bag proves the point there is no such thing as a photographer using one bag. Bag's serve specific purposes and require compromise to achieve the best form and function for any given environment. On the other hand, for those carrying smaller DSLR bodies with no grips, such as the Rebel line, or Nikon's consumer line (think D90, D7000), and have very little lighting requirements (not carrying flashes), this bag is a home run. So, all you mom's on the sideline during Johnny's soccer game could very well fall in love with this bag. Pro's, definitely not except under minimalist standards. For point and shoot camera's, this bag is overkill unless you are looking to carry other items as well; I would just get a backpack at that point.

I bought this for my Nikon D5100 and it has been perfect; much more convenient than the traditional shoulder bag or backpack. In fact, I love this bag so much that even when I'm not bringing my SLR around, I still use this for other purposes. Here's why it's so great:

-FUNCTION-

Being able to swing the bag to the front is a huge benefit (the biggest reason for using a sling-style). I can get my camera out in about three seconds! The zippers are secure and the extra pockets are well thought-out, especially the small pockets for memory cards and battery on the part that flips open. There are several straps on the outside of the back for attaching various items. If you need a tripod, I would get the 102.

-SIZE-

I was going to get the 200 (there's also a 300), but I'm so glad I went with the 100. As an amateur, I don't want to carry around more than I have to. This bag is big enough for my 18-55, a zoom, and a prime. The inside padding can be reconfigured but even the as it came, it fits my camera with the 18-250 attached with no problem.

-COMFORT-

This is extremely comfortable. The weight of the contents is distributed nicely across my shoulder and I can have this on my back literally all day with no problem. This is part of the reason why the 100 might be perfect since you have no choice but to carry light!

-DURABILITY-

The bag seems very well made. Although I've only used it a few times so far, it looks like it will hold up. Zippers and straps are in great condition and there is nothing flimsy at all.

-RECOMMENDATION-

If you only need to carry the camera with a few accessories, this bag is perfect. This allows you to quickly access your camera while not needing to take anything off your body. It also doesn't scream "hey everyone, I have an expensive camera in here!" unlike some other camera bags. Buy without hesitation.

material is good and i will tell you that... it gives you such a better grip on that camera, wow it feels so much better, if you carry it around your neck , with the cover its so easy to pop out the case for the shot, its just one botton and it opens to the front../easy, and if you want to close it back you can leave the flash attach with no problem, i will tell you to upgrade the cord around your neck because is to thin and after 5 min it starts to hurt, but thats an extra 7 bucks maybe,

over all i like it , and if you dont want to take the cover with you all the time , just take the bottom part and it even looks much nicer
