I bought this case (in black) for my Fujifilm X-E1 after a great deal of research and after having read nothing but glowing reviews. One of the biggest reasons I bought it is that Gariz's advertising says you can open the battery door and remove the battery and SD card without removing the case. In reality, however, there is a round, black plastic base where the ring that secures the case to the tripod mount meets the body of the camera. This base protrudes slightly over the edge of the access area Gariz left for the battery door, and it's enough to prevent the battery door from opening all the way. In order to remove the battery and/or the SD card, therefore, one would have to unscrew the silver ring from the tripod mount every single time, then screw it back in when the battery and/or card have been replaced. That's basically the same amount of effort it would take to remove the case, since the ring is the only thing securing the case to the camera.

I purchased this case from an eBay vendor who advised me that s/he is the first North American representative of Gariz. S/he examined several other cases, and they were all built the same way. S/he has removed the eBay listing as a result of my experience, and has contacted Gariz to advise them of this issue. I'm hoping Gariz will redesign the ring. The quality of the case is beautiful, and I really like the fact that the case moves the tripod mount over and away from the battery door; it would therefore be possible to keep a tripod ball on the camera all the time and still be able to access the battery door.... IF, that is, the ring were designed properly. As it is now, however, it's a deal breaker for me.

The leather quality seems to be very nice but time will tell how it holds up. Fit and finish are excellent. Complaints about the case screw I think are overstated. It's not a problem to move it ever so slightly to open the battery door. I was hoping the grip was a little more prominent and/or a little more "grippy". The leather is nice and smooth (good) but a little hard to hang onto (not as good) for the grip. I like the heavy duty, light weight baseplate but the hole in the baseplate for battery access is a bit bothersome to me. I would have preferred a hinged door to help keep dirt and whatever out. Price is what I would consider a little high but it's made nicely. Overall, I'm happy with the case.

Though the construction is sturdy and solid, it doesn't fit the X-E1 very well. I suppose due to the steel bottom, it adds extra space and bulk to the bottom of the camera which seems unnecessary.

I bought this housing case for my SD450 last month for my trip to Aruba last week. The first few times I used it, it was great. I snorkeled at the Antilles shipwreck and got great pictures of fish, coral, etc. After coming in contact with salt water, I washed it so it the metal parts wouldnt rust and let everything dry for the next day's adventure. Well, when we went to the pool, the case leaked and soaked my camera. It turns out the o-ring that creates the seal had some how enlarged (as if it was stretched out) so when I closed the case, a pinch of the rubber was out of the case and thus not having a water tight seal. It was quite the inconvenience during my vacation, but after contacting Canon, they're going to repair the camera and look into the case. Just be careful and check that everything is REALLY sealed before going into the water.

EDIT: Canon sent me a refurb camera and a new case since the camera was beyond repair. I have since used the case while snorkeling at the Caymen Islands, kayaking in San Diego and have brought it to the famous Schlitterbahn waterpark a few times. It really comes in handy when you can take your own pictures and not have to pay $20 for a picture someone else took. I'm vacationing to Alaska this year and will definitely be bringing the camera and case along when I go kayaking!

This case worked perfectly on a recent snorkeling vacation. I had read reviews saying the O-ring/gasket had pinched when case closed not providing a good seal and instantly ruining a camera. This occurs most commonly after you have removed the O-ring to lubricate it with the silicone grease. The case is clear and you can easily see if pinching is happening if you look for it. Indeed the O-ring did pinch in one spot as I closed the case on the second day of use. I readjusted the O-ring slightly and closed the case again without any pinching of the O-ring. I suspect the camera would have been ruined on the second day if I had not seen reviews stressing the need to check the O-ring for proper seal as you close the case each time. I bought this to protect my camera from dust storms in the Blackrock desert. I is perfect for this. It also protected my camera from occasional water spray and sweat. Many people told me their digital cameras were ruined from dust getting in the zoom mechanism of the lens. The buttons are all accessible and easy to use. It's very easy to take in and out. The only problem is you can't record sound when taking video, but what would you expect if the case is water submersible.

Case worked perfectly for the first few days on shallow dives. Seal wore out after 4 uses. Kinda useless then isn't it? Also, cannot find replacement seal.

The product worked well until we forgot to dutifully check the seal one time. Oops. There must've been a hair or piece of dust that compromised the seal. Our camera met its match in the salt water. Luckily, it was the second to last day of our three week vacation, and we were able to salvage the memory card. My advice to folks who buy this product is to ALWAYS check & double-check the seal. I would also recommend dunking it in freshwater before taking it into saltwater. If there is a small freshwater leak, you can usually dry it without the devastating corrosive effects of a full-on saltwater leak.

I'm a Pelican believer now. I bought several Pelican cases, including the 1600, to transport ham radio gear, AGM batteries, computers, and camera gear from South Carolina to Oregon in my pickup truck (3100 miles with the side trips).

I am in the phenomenally dusty desert environment of the eastern slope of the Cascades for the summer (staffing a USFS fire lookout tower in the Deschutes wilderness).

While not in use, I keep the electronic gear in the Pelicans .. safe from water and dust, and safe from the destructive "pack-rats" in my lookout tower's storage shed (they only go to the shed on my off days .. when the relief lookout is in the tower).

Pack-rats can get into almost anything .. but not a Pelican. Bet the people at Pelican never used that sales pitch!

It's exactly what you'd want. High build quality, strong but the material is soft enough that it won't feel like it's abrassive or will scratch things from it's exterior. Add the water seal and pressure valve it's worth the cost if you plan on keeping it a long long time. Foam fits well and is easy to configure.

I love this bag so much that I'm writing a review right away. I'm going on a business trip to DC which includes meeting Senators and Congress members so I needed a professional yet fashionable women's business/laptop bag. I've had trouble finding a bag that my bulky laptop from work fits into and didn't think it would fit at first but after I unsnapped the sides of the bag I found that the laptop easily slid inside and I could still easily snap the sides back together also pleasantly surprised to find another pocket in the folds of each side. My laptop measures 14 inches wide so it just fits but I'm so happy to now have a cute bag that works for me and that I can be proud of carrying! The material was also a nice surprise I was worried about getting a bag with light colors and that it might easily get dirty but the material isn't a fabric like I thought but instead this water-resistent textured material that can easily be cleaned but still looks like good quality and professional. There is also plenty of space because there are more compartments on the outside length of the bag behind the jill-e logo emblem there is a magnetic snap that holds together this outer compartment and it's similar on the other side of the bag.

The downside:

1. It doesn't have a top zipper closure like the description states and like one of the pictures shows. I even went directly to the jill-e.com site and it also has that picture for this bag. It looks like maybe they used the picture from their satchel so this is very misleading. I would have liked that feature as I have a wireless mouse, calculator, jetpack, etc. that I travel with and if I need to put the bag under an airport seat then I don't want those things falling out. There is a small outer zipped pocket and inner zipped pocket, although I usually put smaller things like thumbdrives, business card holder, and ID in those types of pockets. There is a leather strap sown into the inside of the bag with a clip on the end that I guess I could use to attach an accessories bag. There is also a key ring and a cute ID holder tag on the clip that is a nice feature to include.

2. It would be nice if this bag came with a matching leather strap to wear cross-sholder messenger-bag style. Another addition that I will likely make if I can find a strap that matches and has large enough clips on its ends to go around the gold rings that the handles are attached to. I bought the bag knowing this but willing to make an exception since I can't seem to find one with everything.

3. The final reason for 4 stars is that I bought the bag for $122 and glad I went back on the site to write this review because now I see it's sold on Amazon by Beach Audio for $67.07 plus $10.26 shipping! I'm an Amazon Prime member so usually order Prime eligible items only but what's the point if I'm going to get ripped off! I'm going to order through the other seller and return the first one to save $55!

The front cover has to be completely on or else completely off. It does not swing down out of the way to allow you to take photos, and has to be stowed when the camera is in use. This detracts significantly from the overall convenience of the case.

The S-100 is a great camera, not sure why Cannon change the design in later offerings. This cover fits the S-100 like a glove, it is well protected, but not quite a pocket camera anymore, when stored in this case.

I didn't know what to expect for $15 but I am exceedingly pleased with the quality and workmanship. It's well made and thought out. Extra points for the raised bump on the front of the case for placing of fingertips while taking pictures, it's an excellent and refined touch.

The only caveat is you have to take the case off to access the battery, usb port, memory card, etc. But that's an extra 40 seconds of unscrewing and screwing the case off and on. I think the best part of this case is that it is similar to the case on my father's old film camera so I know it's a time-tested and proven design.

The "Case Logic UP-2" is a very well made soft pouch/case that perfectly fits my Flip Video Ultra Series Camcorder, 60-Minutes (White). This case has some great features:

* A silky smooth inside so it will not scratch my lens

* "Locking" draw string wrist strap to keep your camera snug and protected

* Metal ring clip (removable) to attach to a belt loop or shoulder strap

* Very low price for such a well made case

This is well padded enough to protect my camera, but still fits in my pants pocket without being too bulky.

Got this to hold our Flip camera since (1) the camera comes with a thin velour bag and (2) I am accident-prone. The dinky little bag it came with wasn't going to cut it. The Case Logic pocket works great because it provides insulation against drops and bumps. I still use the little velour bag, though, because I think it's better to have that touch the screen and because it's good to wipe the screen off with.

I drop my camera a lot (as I do with most things) and it's kept it safe so far.

I have two of these, a red and a blue. I keep my pocket camera in one and my Flip MinoHD in the other. Each fits into my moderate-sized purse without taking up too much room, although two at the same time starts to get bulky. Note that different colors have different prices here on Amazon, so if you aren't picky, you can save a few bucks. I do love the red because I tend to misplace things and it's easy to spot where I put it down.

I use my MinoHD the most and this little pouch is secure almost to a fault. The drawstrings cinch it up even when the little ball grip isn't completely closed. Sometimes when trying to get video going, I have to work at getting it open in a hurry, but I would rather do that than worry about the contents falling out by accident. It's fairly new so it may loosen up a bit in the future. The padding is very nice -the right balance between thick enough but not too bulky.

I would like to use it to store my daughter's iPod Touch, but it's just a tad too tight with the headphones and silicone case. If you are looking for it for your iPod or iPhone, the fit would depend on what bulk your case and headphones add.

I have bought 2 of these this month for a long distance move with my firearms. I have had to come up with a way to seperate the foam layers for stacking multiple guns but its easily done with the foam school project board from an office store. The pick-n-pluck squares or twice as big as the smaller cases and other rifle cases, which makes it a lot rougher outline when pulled out. The factory foam will work well enough until I get custom foam made later on. Each case has been loaded to 70lbs with no issue at all.

I do wish they had more than 2 lock tabs though, I would feel better with 3 or 4 padlocks on it.

I shipped a photography studio light kit across the country in my Pelican 1740. Three strobe heads, each with a 25-foot cable attached, a 600-watt power unit, three parabolic reflectors, two extra flash modules, and two extra modeling lamps, all held in place by Pick-n-Pluck foam. The kit was on a UPS truck for 7 days and arrived in perfect condition. I've been using Pelican cases to ship and store electronic equipment for 16 years and have NEVER had any of my gear damaged.

I flew with one of my AR-15s, an AK 47, and a 12 gauge in this case from Texas to Maryland and back, with tons of room to spare. I had room for many more guns but I could only carry three because of the airline regulations. These cases are top notch and worth the money.

I just got my bag in the mail tonight and I am so thrilled with it. I looked for a long time to find just the right cute camera bag. I was able to fit my 5D with 24-105 lens attached, 70-300 lens, 50mm fixed lens, light meter and external flash. Zips easily and zippers slide well and feel secure. Also room for a few extras like lip gloss and phone. I do have to say that it is a bit heavy with all the stuff in it, but it fits easily. I had purchased another bag off of ETSY that had larger dimensions listed, but was not able to even fit the camera body with lens attached. Hope this helps. Thanks.

I received my new lavender Mimi camera bag by Kelly Moore last week and I am absolutely thrilled with it. I have been looking for something different for some time and couldn't have picked a better bag. I love the fact that this bag is so versatile. I'm a "bag" nut anyway so being able to remove the velcro sections inside and use as a regular purse is awesome. I have my Canon and two lenses with other accessories inside with room to spare. I love this bag. It's roomy. It's easy to carry around. And it's cute! Most camera bags are so....black. And plain, but this one looks more like a purse, and I love that about it. Does it fit all of my equipment? No. But it fits all I need (or want) to carry around at a time. It's very well made; the straps don't feel like they might rip off it I put too much weight in it, and the inside has a good amount of padding so your equipment is safe. The bag itself is pretty lightweight, so even with it filled, it's not too heavy. Overall, it's a great bag. Of all the bags I've had, this is my favorite by far.
