I wanted a leather coverall for the basic camera and lens for routine carry rather than having to carry a separate container. With the separate contanier I always had to carry the extra bag and each time I wanted to use the camera had to go through the process of taking the camera out of the bag, etc., etc., etc. This case protects the camera and I get to minimize extra luggage. The case snaps open from the sides and slips over the lens nicely. Good quality leather, snaps are good quality.

A few months ago I purchased the Clik Elite Pro CE406GR Back Pack with Click Stand (Gray). This pack has a huge capacity for camera gear and provides a very comfortable way to carry a heavy load. I carry a large DSLR and several pro lenses and substantial tripod. The pack gives the capacity I need and workspace that keeps my gear and the pack out of the dirt in the field.

One feature that the pack offers is the capability to snap in a chest pack that holds a camera body and lens. The clips are integrated into the pack straps and waist belt. I decided to order this chest pack to use with my pack.

The chest pack came and it's great lots of room for a pro-body DSLR with battery grip, 70-200mm f/2.8, and even my Really Right Stuff L-bracket. It comes with a harness, strap, and built-in rain cover. There's room in the cover for memory cards, batteries, maybe a couple filters, your keys, stuff like that. There are pockets on the side that would probably be good for maps, or thin stuff like that.

Now there's one little thing this is the new-for-2011 chest pack with some new features (the built-in rain cover), but unfortunately the clips are not compatible with the back pack I listed above Clik Elite Pro CE406GR Back Pack with Click Stand (Gray). (Clik Elite provide a retrofit set of clips)... But if you want to get the features I described and attach the chest pack to the back pack without a retrofit kit, you need to get the 2010 version of the chest pack Clik Elite CE511GR SLR Telephoto Chest Pack (Gray) it's basically the same chest pack, but with slightly different harness, strap, and clips compatible with the back pack. The 2010 version of the chest pack does not have the built-in rain cover, so you'd need to pick up a little one here or there Camelbak Tactical Rain Cover

The chest pack is very large. My 12 year-old son told me he wasn't going anywhere near me when I have it on it looks like a baby carrier. But strange looks aside, I have been alone in the wilderness with my pro-DSLR around my neck with the 70-200 and fallen on the rocks. I got lucky and saved the camera and lens from damage, but it was too close for comfort. This case provides protection from that kind of accident, and gets the weight off your neck. With the camera in a chest pack, it's a lot more accessible for shooting than if it's in the back pack. So I may look a little strange, but given that I am going deep in the woods when I use this, there's probably not going to be too many people that see me anyway. And if I lose my balance, there's a good chance the camera isn't going to get destroyed...

I use Olympus 4/3'rds equipment. My E-5 with HLD-4 battery holder along with my ZD 35-100 (70-200 equivalent in 35mm terms) mm f 2.0 lens fit inside this case with the lens hood (reversed) with little difficulty; the fit is a bit easier without the lens hood on the lens. In addition, my Olympus ZD 300mm (600mm equiv.) f2.8 lens will also fit in the bag (begrudingly), without the lens hood and without the camera attached, this is good for me as I do not like the lens swinging around in its supplied case while hiking Blue Ridge/Skyline Drive. In both instances above there is no way I could have my EC-14 (1.4X) teleconverter attached; also, tripod ring was attached to both lenses.

The pack is comfortable even with the heavy 300mm f2.8 lens in it. I also like that the pack can be attached to my QE backpack via the ports built into the shoulder straps, I have the 2010 Escape backpack. With this pack I will have fewer worries of my $$$ lenses hitting a rock or tree and being damanged.

I did quite a bit of research, and can safely say that this is the perfect case for the Canon SD1100. Of all the cases I looked at, it's one of the most compact, but also protects the camera quite well. All the other cases are either bulky, or don't really protect the camera from anything but scratches. It's one of the few cases that fits easily into a pants pocket. I highly recommend this case for the SD1100 or similar-sized cameras.

It was very difficult to decide which case to buy for my Canon SD1200 IS, because most of the reviews for all the cases covered the 1100 IS or the 870 models. I finally picked this Case Logic UNZ-2 case to try, and I am VERY happy with it. It has the look of very high quality construction, it is very attractive in the blue and grey, the special cushion pad for the LCD screen side of my 1200 seems to be very protective, and, the case was also very inexpensive, a great value. Also, I don't even have to use the case strap that comes included with the case, because when you attach the Canon SD1200 strap to the camera, if you put the camera into the case so that the Canon camera strap comes out where the case zipper closes, you can use the camera strap as your default strap, and your camera will be even more secure since it's directly attached to the camera. I also recently bought a Case Logic case for my new 15.6" Toshiba laptop, and so far I am more than satisfied and very impressed with Case Logic's products. This was a great deal. Fits the Canon SD770 IS perfectly. You could probably squeeze into the pouch an extra battery or SD card, but it would be a stretch. The wrist strap that comes with the Canon does fit in the pouch with the camera, but you have to sort of neatly place the strap around the camera before zipping up the pouch.

The whole pouch, with camera inside, fits in my pocket. It probably would not fit in the front pocket of tighter-fitting jeans, but it still fits in a back pocket. One side is specifically designed to protect the camera LCD screen, and that seems to work well.

It's a nice way to keep the camera protected while you're out and about, but not using it. Also nice for keeping the camera protected while in a backpack/suitcase/briefcase.

No real negatives, unless you are looking for a bigger case that fits other accesseries.

I recently bought a Canon SD1100 camera and needed a good case for it. This one is very well suited for the SD1100. It's pretty much the perfect size for the camera itself, but don't expect to get your USB cord and all your accessories in it. I can keep a spare battery and a few extra SD cards in the case along with the camera, but that's about all. Perfect for my needs, however.

The "screen protector," feels like a piece of flexible plastic sewn between layers of fabric. It's not a heavy duty case by any means, but it does the job.

So, if you're looking for something to keep your point-and-shoot camera safe from the perils of your bag and small drops for a good price, this is a pretty nice case. It could probably fit in a large pocket, as well.

I bought this at a B&M store because I wanted to make sure it was just right for my Canon SD1200. It is a perfect size. I bought the blue version of the camera.....and this is the right case for it. I make sure I turn the lcd lense towards the padded lens protector side and fold the carrying strap on top of the edge of the camera before I zip it up. There is no extra room or pocket....but I was looking for a case that was bare minimum....and this is it.

I really like this as a case, it's flexible and pretty! However I'm the only one that likes it, I keep the case on it and just pull it back to take the photo (leaving it still attached) but anyone I hand it to to take the photo gets really awkward and doesn't like it on there.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Thule Perspektiv Action Camera Case is a great idea -but just like with any idea, it comes with pluses and minuses. Overall, I think the case is fantastic for storing your GoPro and other small camera equipment and accessories, but it is a little unwieldy as a portable traveling case.

The lower zippered hard case part is wonderful. It fits a GoPro and some accessories nicely, and the hard shell protects very well.

However, the top part is a soft lunch-bag-reminiscent storage space that works well for cords and straps and such, but makes the case less compact and sleek as a portable case.

Perhaps a case strap would make it more appealing?

Overall, it's a good case for storing your GoPro (or other compact camera), but it's definitely not ideal for carrying around.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I'm generally a fan of Thule products. They are very well constructed and usually have a load of extra features. I have to admit this camera bag was initially puzzling to me. What am I supposed to fit in here, and why the lunchbag style top?

If you actually want to store a camera in the protective hard shell part of the case:

** Per manufacturer: "Designed specifically to fit GoPro, Contour and Sony action sport cameras"** In reality you can put any flat P&S camera in the hardshell case. I put my Sony RX100 in there, fits great. Plenty of room for accessories like an extra battery, cable, SD cards. Then the lunchbag style top can be used for whatever will fit, including snacks! I also tried a old Canon SX100, a clunky older P&S and an older Canon HF100 video camera (bulges out to top a little).

If you want to use this for a 4/3 camera:

I was able to pack my Panasonic G5 camera for a recent excursion. I placed the telephoto (45-150mm) lens (fir perfectly), a spare battery, a small 3D lens (or filters), and extra lens cap in the bottom. I put the G5 with kit lens (14-45mm) and strap in the lunchbag compartment. Granted, there is no protection for the camera, but I was merely using this as an organizing bag. Once I arrived at my destination, my camera spent most of the time out of the bag ready to shoot pictures. I DON'T think a Sony NEX will fit well due to the size of the lenses, maybe just the kit lens and extra prime lens.

If you want to use this for a full size DSLR:

That's not what the bag is intended for, and I doubt you'll get anything significant to fit.

Closing it up:

The 9 hook is a quick and easy way to secure the bag, but it would have been nice to have some kind of loop handle to make the bag easier to grab and carry.

WARNING:

1. If you put your SD cards in the slots (3 of them), make sure to enclose them in the small plastic case and touch something metal to discharge static electricity before using. The fabric is nice, but may give you a static charge residue that may destroy the data on your card. It probably would have been better to forgo the fabric in this case (though it is a nice tactile feel).

2. The Hardshell case is only for the bottom and sides. The top is thinner, and counts on the SD card flap and lunchbag bottom to provide cushion/protection.

This bag is very different from other camera bags (at least to me). I like how there is a hard section at the bottom that can fit the 2 GoPro's or a GoPro and the external battery charger. The media card holder is great for the microSD card adapter.

The top half is perfect to just throw all the different mounts you may haev for your GoPro camera, I fit my chest mount and handlebar mount and helment mounts in there with plent of room to spare. It is cool, how you can sinch it down, so the items inside don't rattle too much also makes the bag smaller. I definitely am happy with the bag. And the seller shipped it out quick and faster than stated.

I've used various Lowepro bags in the past, most recently a Lowepro daypacker, and I've always been able to make things work, but I never realized what I was missing until trying this out.

PRO:

This bag can either be a backpack or a sling. When in sling mode, you can easily slip it under your arm and across your body to quickly access your camera. What's nice is that your camera is easy to grab and the opening sits upright, meaning that you can rest your camera without worrying about it falling out.

Waterproof zippers

Hidden backpack cover for when the rain really starts falling

Hidden tripod or monopod cover that holds your tripod upright and holds the foot at the base of the bag so it isn't constantly knocking on the backs of your legs.

Roomy compartments, including two side compartments and a big top compartment.

Plenty of clips, straps, etc. to keep your stuff tidy and safe.

Small flap pocket to hold your bitty things.

Price excellent for the quality, just as good as any other bag I have tried.

Pocket to hold a small laptop or tablet (even when the bag is full).

CONS:

Doesn't have a built-in liquor cabinet. It's the only thing I've found myself needing that this bag doesn't have.

COMMENTS:

I managed to fit two camera bodies with attached lenses (one zoom, one standard) and 3 unattached lenses in the bag, along with piles of film, filters, air blowers, tripod heads, etc. If you want, you can store lenses hidden in an inside layer in the bag, depending on how you set the velcro adjustable padded compartment separators.

The Adaptor 48 was missing all

the useful features...e.g. Quick Access, Laptop compartment...Bummer. Vanguard needs to be more clear about this. Returned the 48 for the 46. They are the exact same size except the 46 has about 3/4" more (depth wise) for laptop compartment.

PROS:

Quick access, 13" laptop compartment, fits Pro DSLR with a prime lens attached. The quick access compartment will fit 4 extra small prime lenses OR 2 standard zoom lenses (without hoods) OR one extra small lens and 2 Speedlites. Plenty of room as a daypack, sits on your back comfortably as a backpack. Sturdy construction. Laptop compartment can double as a water bladder compartment.

CONS:

Price, Small upper compartment (might not be a con), No rain cover...what!? Vanguard stamped this bag with "weather proof" not sure what that means but I would only risk my gear in a light drizzle with this bag. Quick access is not so quick...I had a hard time arranging the dividers to fit my 1Ds and 24-70 lens. Once I figured that out (took a while) I couldn't get my camera out as quick as the guy in the vanguard videos which leads me to believe that he had no other gear in that bag and had practiced those moves a lot. When wearing as a sling the strap will make its way up towards your neck.

Overall, this is a small bag suitable as a daypack in good/fair weather.

I am happy with the bag however since it does not come with a rain cover and because of the price I can't recommend it.

This bag is probably smaller than what it appears in the picture with the girl wearing it on her back. The interior has a collapsible divider that separates the top 1/3rd from the bottom 2/3rd. Collapsing the divider, which is secured with Velcro, provides you access vertically to the whole bag. The bottom comes with more dividers that allow for horizontal access to your camera and a lens, but because of the design, accessing one does not provide you access to the other without rotating the bag back the other way. This can be seen as a plus since you can whip out your camera and not have your additional lens slide out with it.I wanted to use this bag to transport my camera, two additional lenses, some cleaning accessories and a tablet. Unfortunately, my tablet, a Toshiba Thrive that measures 11" x 7.5" x 1" inside of its case, wouldn't fit in the bag no matter how I tried. The width at the top of the bag is just narrow enough to not allow my tablet to slip in. Unfortunately, due to its size, it also looks like a little man-purse. So I returned it but can't ding it because it did seem to be good construction and decently designed. For a more spacious bag, I would recommend looking at the Adaptor 45 or 46.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I'm reviewing the Vanguard Adapter 46 backpack. This is a complicated backpack with lots of different options to help customize it for you and your gear. You can configure the straps so you use only one strap (either one) or both at the same time. This bag holds a lot of gear, so I choose to use both straps in a standard backpack configuration. There is a medium sized compartment at the top to hold loose items like a jacket or your lunch or misc photo gear. The main part of the pack is the lower half, which is accessed only from the sides, not the front like most backpacks. There are lots of movable dividers to you can set up this space in lots of different ways, depending on the size and amount of gear you are carrying. I could fit my SLR with one lens mounted, 2 more lenses in separate compartments, and a couple of flash guns. Slide the bag on to one shoulder and you can easily access your gear without putting the backpack on the ground. There are zipper openings on both sides of the bag or you could arrange the dividers to make all your gear accessible from one side.

This bag has so many options that you really need to try it out for yourself to see if your gear will fit and if you can use it easily. Same goes for any camera backpack. I found it to be comfortable, easy to use (once I set it up), and sturdy.

My main disappointment is that there are no external lashing straps to attach a tripod. There is also no pocket for a water bottle, though there is a small strap on the side where you could clip on an water bottle pouch. I don't want to carry a water bottle inside the pack with my gear.

Excellent product, I am totally satisfied with it.

I chose this one after a thorough research of various models, and I am 100% satisfied with my choice.

Great construction, has ALL the features I wanted (was hard to find them all in one bag):

Optional sling/backpack use

Side quick access

Being able to host Nikon D5200 with 55-300 lens on camera (hood must be reversed,but I'm OK with that)

Laptop compartment for 13" ultrabook

Raincover

Good tripod holder

Feels very sturdy and light at the same time, excellent protection on every side.

A big bonus is that all internal divisions are removable (even the one that separates top and bottom comparment) allowing to be used for other stuff as a normal bag.

Other pros: bottom is waterproofed and the bag stands vertical on its own.

As an improvement it could certainly use a couple of pockets on the upper compartment for smaller items, I will have to find a small pouch or similar for this. Not a big issue.

Another plus would be one or two additional dividers, but is has quite enough, for my distribution one or two more would be good.

Have used the bag only a couple of times for short time, but feels very sturdy and looks as it will last long.

UPDATE: Just in case, this review is for the Adaptor 46 model (website shows this information but Amazon App for Android doesn't)

I loved the case and ordered it because their website claimed Canon 40D DSLR will fit in it. Unfortunately, the cover would not close with the camera inside. 2 sizes up, the H-14 is a snug fit, pushing it if you put 2 lenses in it too.

Read the rest if your DSLR is smaller than the 40D:

I am going hiking this weekend, 25 miles over 3 days in the Smokies :-)let's see if I keep it on after the first 5 mile hike or back to my small backpack, but that is a personal preference.

The H-14 looks very strong for the small space it occupies on my right. The clasp is secure, but difficult to insert if you are doing it repeatedly. I think I will find a place to put some velcro there, and use the clasp only when in risky situations, or transporting.

I am sure my camera will be secure in the event of a short drop, and of course in inclement weather because of the rain cover that the bag comes with. Very unique in this respect.

Overall, I won't know how convenient it is until after a few days on the trail, but it sure is just right for the equipment I plan to carry.

I just got my bag in the mail tonight and I am so thrilled with it. I looked for a long time to find just the right cute camera bag. I was able to fit my 5D with 24-105 lens attached, 70-300 lens, 50mm fixed lens, light meter and external flash. Zips easily and zippers slide well and feel secure. Also room for a few extras like lip gloss and phone. I do have to say that it is a bit heavy with all the stuff in it, but it fits easily. I received my new lavender Mimi camera bag by Kelly Moore last week and I am absolutely thrilled with it. I have been looking for something different for some time and couldn't have picked a better bag. I love the fact that this bag is so versatile. I'm a "bag" nut anyway so being able to remove the velcro sections inside and use as a regular purse is awesome. I have my Canon and two lenses with other accessories inside with room to spare. I love this bag. It's roomy. It's easy to carry around. And it's cute! Most camera bags are so....black. And plain, but this one looks more like a purse, and I love that about it. Does it fit all of my equipment? No. But it fits all I need (or want) to carry around at a time. It's very well made; the straps don't feel like they might rip off it I put too much weight in it, and the inside has a good amount of padding so your equipment is safe. The bag itself is pretty lightweight, so even with it filled, it's not too heavy. Overall, it's a great bag. Of all the bags I've had, this is my favorite by far.

Holds all my equipment. Looks great. Doesn't advertise that I'm carrying camera equipment. Can hold water bottle and personnel items too. Nice padded shoulder strap.
