I got the 3535 Ultra-Compact Messenger Bag to carry my Canon S3 IS, extra batteries and memory cards and a battery charger. The camera has a lens adapter + filter + new cap, meaning its depth has grown. In order for it to fit in the bag, I had to remove one of the padded dividers (a horrendous battle with pieces of velcro sticking to everything), but now the camera fits nicely, lens turned upward. The remaining divider separates the camera from the charger, which is good. Extra batteries and cards are safely stowed in the front compartment -the cards within the zippered part. A cleaning cloth fits in the small compartment on the front flap. There is a little side pocket for my cellphone, a nice touch if I don't want to carry extra volumes on a day out. The bag is well made and very sturdy, padding on all sides. I would like it to be slightly shorter and slightly wider, but it does the job well.

I share pretty much all of the same opinions with the other reviewer. I also removed one of the velcro dividers in order to use the bag with my Canon S3 IS and adaptor/lens converter. I keep batteries and memory cards in the front pocket, a card reader in the side, and a lens cleaning cloth in the flap pocket. With some wrestling, I can fit my large AA battery charger in the bottom of the main compartment, but I don't think I'll do this unless necessary.

Buy this bag if you like to carry lots of accessories with your camera. Do NOT buy this bag if you are just looking to carry your S1/S2/S3/S5 IS and a few small items (like a set of batts and a memory card). This will be WAY too big if that's the case. An alternate, smaller bag I recommend is the Lowepro Edit 110 mini-camcorder bag. That worked well for my S3 IS and its batteries and cards, before I got the extra lens kit.

The bag is very attractive but just too small to hold my camera and two lenses. Perfect for a little digital camera but not the Canon Rebel. Should have purchased the bigger one, for sure.

Honest reviews on Tamrac 3535 Express 5 Camera Bag (Black)

Indeed. I chose it for its small size and it is just what I need to protect and carry my Panasonic Lumix FZ8. The inside pocket holds it fast and the small extra pouches hold SD cards, cables, filters...

More: It fits in my hand luggage. I love it.

Good bag for a small DSLR with lens and small accessories good "walking around" bag when you don't want to lug all your gear. Flat bottom to stably rest on, although a little top-heavy without a heavy lens, so might fall over if provoked. Nice long shoulder strap (though no shoulder pad), handle on the top back is a plus.

Only complaint is that the plastic buckle that secures the flap over the main compartment isn't idiot-proof (especially when you're not watching carefully as you close it): half the time the ends will not align quite correctly when closing the buckle, although they will continue to slide together most of the way, possibly fooling you into believing the flap is securely latched when it isn't. Shouldn't require such careful attention (two hands while looking closely in adequate light) just to perform a task which can be done behind your back (one-handed if you're reasonably dexterous) on most backpacks or other gear with similar latching mechanisms.

I mainly use it with a Canon XSi (450D) with 50mm f/1.4, and it has plenty of room in the main compartment for an extra inch of foam padding below the lens (in case I drop it hard), plus a charger, filters, etc. and a 1/2" deep front zip pocket that covers the full height and width of the bag for lens brush, mem cards, and other accessories. Best bag I've seen so far for my purposes.

I've had my Celestron Sky Scout for about two months now and was enjoying it a lot. But every time I held the Sky Scout in my hand, I did so with a bit of trepidation, fearful that I might drop it, dirty it, or scratch it. My fears only compounded when I let my kids or neighbors hold my Sky Scout. The Sky Scout is not heavy, but it is a bit clumsy to grip, especially for small hands or for extended periods of time.

Last week, I chanced upon the Scoutcase on Amazon quite by accident, but was struck by its obvious usefulness. I immediately ordered one. 2 days later, it was in my mailbox (although this is probably because it was shipped from only about 40 miles from where I am).

This is such a simple yet useful idea! The case seems to be very well made of good materials. I initially thought that this case might be water proof, but it isn't and the description does not claim that it is. One common complaint of the Celestron Sky Scout is the lack of lens caps, but this case does not solve that problem. The soft padding and hand grip (which is like the grip found on many video camera cases) are totally awesome ideas and make the Sky Scout very comfortable to use. In fact, I find myself reading the object information on the LCD screen even more now since it is much easier for me to interrupt looking at the sky and flip my hand around to turn the screen towards me for brief moments. The buttons and LCD screen are nicely visible, and the case fits really snugly on the Sky scout.

I have used the case for two nights now, and can't imagine why anyone would want to buy the Sky Scout without getting one of these cases to go with it.

I'd concur with the prior reviewer. The case adds protection and ease of use while not detracting from functionality. The case is nylon and vinyl, and all stitching and straps are well done, IMHO. I was very pleased with the fast delivery and communication by the vendor. I too would not recommend going without this affordable accessory for the SkyScout.

Like another reviewer, I happened across this product in Amazon by accident. Also like another reviewer, it immediately struck me as a useful thing to have.

The case shipped very quickly and I have no complaints.

The quality of the construction is good and it makes gripping the SkyScout SO MUCH BETTER. I'm also a lot less nervous now when I hand it to other people to use.

Honest reviews on ScoutCase for Celestron SkyScout Personal Planetarium

This soft-sided case for the Celestron SkyScout works every bit as well as claimed. Perfect fit, no problem operating the buttons, no impact on the functionality/sensitivity of the SkyScout. I would buy this case again.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for ScoutCase for Celestron SkyScout Personal Planetarium

The Scoutcase is a good idea for anyone that has the SkyScout. I wouldn't call it perfect, but it's a good case. It fits fairly well, offers some protection from drops etc., and seems pretty well made. You won't mistake the vinyl construction for leather though. There have been reports on the internet that the clear plastic on the case that is supposed to protect the display and lens, actually scuffs them up. I have not seen this yet, but it has been reported. To remove the batteries, or use a tri-pod, you have to remove the SkyScout from the case. I feel much safer using my SkyScout with the Scoutcase on. All in all, it's a worthwhile purchase.

This bag was purchased to be a alternate camera bag for traveling with me when I must travel minimally. I travel with two carry-on bags. This bag needs to slide over the carry-on handle, and it does so perfectly.

I use it to transport a Nikon D800 (without the battery grip attached) and my 14-24mm lens (also not attached), and nothing else by choice.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I have a Tamrac Messenger 5 bag, and I use it when I travel to carry 5 or 6 lenses, my flash, my SLR, my iPad, and a ton of filters and memory cards, etc., etc. It's a lot of stuff, and it weighs a ton. And it eventually reached the point that I was hurting my shoulder, but I wanted a place to keep everything, and for that, it made sense. But I also realized that 90% of the time, I just wanted my standard 28-70mm lens, and my 70-200mm f2.8 lens, and my flash, and my iPad, and so, I went looking for a smaller bag that would carry what I wanted.

Strangely, it is not at all easy to find a bag that holds a 70-200 lens and a laptop. Some bags claim to hold the 70-200, but it really sticks about 1/4 out of the bag, and such a bag is not that small anyway, and it may not hold a computer (or preferably, an iPad).

The Tamrac Zuma 4 does hold all those things, and also a few others. Physically, it's not all that much smaller than the "official" size of the Messenger 5. It's about 75% of the size, but that's before I stuff the Messenger to be a third bigger than it's official size. I don't even try to do that with the Zuma, which keeps it to a more manageable size.

What I like --

1 -The bag is efficient and has a tall enough pocket to completely hold my 70-200. I also have a 1.4x converter and a 50mm lens, and the 28-70, and my wallet and Blackberry, and memory cards and batteries. Enough to cover most situations, and keep it all in the bag.

2 -The top of the bag is small enough that it doesn't get the camera strap stuck under the flap, as was always happening with the Messenger. I would click the snap on the Messenger, only to find that the strap was now stuck inside the bag, and I had to start over again.

3 -The pockets for smaller items are big enough to hold thicker items. The pocket for the iPad is the right size; it isn't really suitable for a laptop, but I don't care.

4 -It balances nicely on my shoulder. (By the way, I've added the Domke shoulder strap pad, and it works very nicely.)

What is okay --

1 -The bag is a tight fit for some things; for example, the strap for my camera has to be packed into the bag with just a bit of care; it doesn't just fall into the bag, like it does with my messenger.

2 -The orientation of the top and the side pouches seems to be backwards from what I am expecting. I think that most bags have the pouch for small parts on the other side of the bag. This isn't a problem, but it takes a bit of getting used to.

All things considered, I'm very happy with this bag. It is a lot more efficient than my old bag (which is still avaialable when I want to carry more gear.) And I can get my stuff in and out of it plenty fast enough.

Best Deals for Tamrac 5724 Zuma 4 Photo/iPad Camera Bag - Black

I don't use this with a PAD, but that extra slots makes a good space to store filters and such. The front organiser pockets work well, the strap adjusts to my size with out putting the buckle in the wrong place and the top handles work well even if you only get one in your hand. The top which opens away from your body and the ample opening allow easy access the the camera and contents while wearing it.

The foam dividers are stout enough to support a body and lens and the main slot is deep enough for my 70-300 (6.5") and probably a little more. Also a 70-200 f2.8 can be stored on the side and not interfere with the camera.

This bag is not too big but capable of dealing with a reasonable kit nicely. There is plenty of organized secure storage for small items too.

Honest reviews on Tamrac 5724 Zuma 4 Photo/iPad Camera Bag - Black

Returned this item. I was looking for a carry-on bag for my dslr,iPad,phone etc.

I wanted something that would fit under the seat. This item was bulkier than I expected and was not very stylish. I ended up ordering the enthusiast from crumpler and I can not be happier. It is exactly what I was looking for and worth the extra money.

This is a great travel bag for the tourist with a DSLR. You can carry a DSLR, a couple of extra lenses, flash, and an iPad. It's great when you travel compact and light weight, yet meets your needs.

Obviously you can also use it when visiting or on other occaisions when pictures are being taken and you want to use your iPad.

EXCELLENT case for a Canon G12. Fits like a glove. The construction is durable and protective. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the snaps could be a little tighter so that the second half of the case could stay attached during shooting without falling off easily. Other than that, a fantastic item. Don't think twice before purchasing!

This is well made and the magnetic closure works great. It would work best for storage inside another bag (purse, day pack, etc.) or for use indoors. Because it is made of leather and the sides do not seal completely, it would be fairly useless (and would probably be damaged) in all but the lightest of rain.

Also, the interior "pockets" for memory aren't even large enough to hold CF cards. Very tiny.

In short, A+ for style and value, B for functionality in indoor settings, and C for functionality in outdoor settings. My daughter loves it. I got a similarly priced Case Logic zip-up camera case that is about the same exterior size, but holds more and is much more useful outdoors.

I've been using the NEX-5N for a couple years now with a 1855 lens and also the 55210 lens. While using the 1855 lens I can use an old school leather case like the LCS-EJC3, but when I put the 55210 zoom lens on, I had to resort to a gadget bag which was cumbersome. BUT now with this expandable jacket style case, I can have that quick-off functionality like the LCS-EJC3 and have it fit my camera with either lens. The zipper extender on the case to allow longer lenses is brilliant. Now I can have my NEX5N with the 55210 lens at a quick draw using this case. So happy...

Item is cute, but an extrememly tight fit for my DSC-HX9V. I have to pull edges together to zip it up and am not sure how long it will last as have to really stretch it to make it fit. Not a whole lot of padding if that is what you are looking for.

Buy Lowepro LP36296 CompuDay Photo 150 - Black

Lowepro LP36296 CompuDay Photo 150 - Black
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

This is my second Lowepro bag. About two years ago, I purchased a Lowepro Fastpack 250 (Black) camera/laptop backpack. It has held up to use wonderfully, but I recently started using the eBags Mother Lode TLS Weekender Convertible as my carry-on bag when I fly. Because I prefer to use the TLS Weekender as a backpack, the Fastpack has become impractical for use when I need to fly -it is obviously pretty hard to use TWO backpacks at once! So I began looking for a similar laptop/camera carrying solution that was messenger-style so I could use the TLS as a backpack, and then sling the messenger bag across my shoulder.

My criteria was 1. bag must be messenger-style; 2. since this will mainly be used as my "personal item," I was hoping to find something a little smaller than my Fastpack 250; the Fastpack 250 DOES fit underneath an airline seat, but it can be a tight squeeze on a small plane; 3. it had to be able to fit both my DSLR and my 15.4" laptop; 4. it had to look professional, i.e. I was looking for something fairly conservative that wouldn't look out of place if I carried the bag on business. This bag fit what I was looking for to a T.

Things I like: 1. The size. I'm on the smaller side (5-5, 115 pound female) and this bag "fits" me much better than the Fastpack. It may not be big enough for you if you carry a lot of lenses and other equipment, however. 2. The quality seems to match my Fastpack, which as I said has handled regular use wonderfully. 3. The looks -it is a nice looking, laptop style bag; you would not know that it also carries a camera. Lowepro really came up with a very creative solution -the laptop is placed just as you would expect from the top, but the camera has it's own pocket on the side of the bag, so you can get your camera out without having to open the entire bag. I think this was a very clever idea and it also hides the fact that you're carrying a camera. 4. There are a lot of extra pockets for peripherals both on the outer pocket and on the interior of the bag. This makes it easy to keep things organized when you're traveling. 5. The price. This bag is relatively inexpensive compared to other LowePro bags.

Things I don't like: 1. The carrying strap for a couple of reasons: a) it is sewn onto the bag so you can't swap out your own strap and b) it has NO padding. 2 I would have liked to have a zipper or some other way to close the main compartment. You fold the top of the bag over and fasten it, but I'd really like a way to better secure the main compartment to make sure nothing falls out and to help protect the interior contents from the weather.

All and all I am very pleased with this bag. If you need to carry a lot of equipment or lenses, this probably would not be a good choice -I'd consider this a "travel light" bag. If, however, you are just looking for a simple, smaller sized solution to carry your DSLR and laptop along with accessories, I'd definitely consider this bag.

I LOVE this bag. I needed something larger than your typical fanny pack sized bag because as a single mother I needed a diaper bag that doubled as a safe camera bag. Add occasional airline travel, and this bag hits the trifecta. I can put my laptop in it for travel, and on a daily basis it is durable, and roomy enough for all of my baby gadgets (diapers, burb cloths, spare outfits, etc) and still has room for the padded camera compartment and for a spare lens. Even room for my Nikon manual in it in case I need to remember how to use one of the bazillion settings. Outer pockets for my ipod and camera, even though my HTC Evo doesn't fit in it. Outer elastic side pocket holds lens caps etc when you don't want to open the bag to tuck something away. Will fit a small tripod in the main pouch, when you don't have it full of other stuff like I usually do. My D80 fits with either the 18-155 lens or the 70-300 lens on it without having to take it apart, which is a huge timesaver. Very nice to be able to get my camera out, take a photo and put it away with one hand while holding my baby. As my baby needs less space in the bag I look forward to being able to put more camera related gadgets in it. Only thing that irks me is that when the flap is not buckled down, the middle of the bag sags open and I worry things will fall out of it. Should not be too much of an issue with solid items like lenses, but I have it full of fabrics and soft items. A support strap in the middle or a stiffer top edge would have been helpful though. Overall, I would buy this bag again in a heartbeat.

I love this bag, I generally just use it for my school and it it has more than enough pockets and space for everything I use for school and an extra lens! Super durable and has great build quality. The only complaint I would have is the strap... If you are packing a little too heavy on the bag, the strap will slowly start to tire your shoulder out.

Other than that, a GREAT bag, would highly recommend it.

Honest reviews on Lowepro LP36296 CompuDay Photo 150 - Black

I use this bag in combination with my Lowepro Magnum 400 AW when I travel for my photo safaris. I can easily fit a 14" laptop, Canon 5DMKIII with the 24-105 attached and a 70-200 f4 in the Compuday (no lens hoods). I place a second body and my big glass in the 400 AW which I carry with a small trolley. You can carry all together in the trolley attaching the Compuday via a bag bungee and splitting them when checking in or boarding. Good way to avoid the airline checking your expensive photo gear that can happen if you carry everything in just one big bag.

Great value; however, I've ordered a smaller bag to carry my camcorder in "every day." Searched more after getting this one, and finally found the size I want. Still, this bag (same vendor as the new one) is high quality and will work well as the bag that holds all of the cords, recharger, etc. for the camcorder--so no problem! Only thing I don't like too much is the way the zipper angles down the sides--seems awkward.

I am very satisfied with my new case and tripod. I thought the case was going to look bulky but am happily surprised by how slim and compact it is for the amount of protection it contains. It has great amounts of padding all the way around to protect my camera and yet still looks little. The quality of the fabric is very good! It looks like expensive material yet its a great price! Really enjoy the possibilities it presents with belt loop staying connected and the detachable neck strap! Pleased that the size is what its claimed to be because this case is listed elsewhere as 7.4 inches long!! It is indeed 4.9 inches long as this description confirms. Mini tripod is perfect for quick access to achieve stable quality photos!

I believe that this is a camera case that also happens to fit the Apple Magic Mouse. The hard case is nice, but the mouse barely fits. Great bag. Very secure closure with a zipper, velcro and a plastic clip. More than enough room for my Canon A630 camera, battery charger and other items. Nice zippered pouch on the front of the bag for additional storage. Really no complaints at all with this bag

Honest reviews on Tamrac 5230 T30 Camera/Camcorder Bag (Red)

I needed a way to carry and protect my Canon s5 around with some batteries and a charger, but in a way that the camera and case could still fit inside a regular backpack or briefcase. The Tamrac bag is "pouchlike" in that it is belt-wearable, and is perfect for my needs. Fits my s5 with room to spare (you could probably fit a camera about 25% larger if you had to but no room for any external lenses or anything much beyond one camera with a standard lens), and my AA battery charger fits in the pocket on the front. Under the flap is a zipper that closes the top of the bag, but if I've got the Tamrac slung over my shoulder, the top flap has a velcro patch to keep it closed if you are removing the camera frequently. A perfect accessory when a full-sized camera "bag" is too much, but you still want to carry and protect your investment.

This is a wonderful camera bag. It holds my Panasonic Lumix FZ28 just perfectly, with the roomy outside zipper compartment holding my extra battery and the tidy little charger with room for a bit more. The three closure options are great one can zip, then velcro, then clip! Best of all, one can use just one method and still feel moderately secure. I use the velcro only when doing lots of photography, add the clip when I anticipate being more active, and only use the zip when not using the camera.

This isn't a hard case if that kind of protection is needed, this bag won't do. But if you are the average, active photographer, it's just the thing!
