I use this as a combination purpose bag: Cameras for light shooting work, extra camera gear bag, emergency gear bag for winter/blizzard travel, day pack for hiking up to 8 hours. It's easy to shoulder, unshoulder, organize, load and access gear.

It is not as easy to access as the outstanding LowePro Slingshot 300 (which I also use). NOTHING touches the Slingshot for rapid ease of access (you don't have to unshoulder it -just slide it down from your back to your waist) or for safety during access (divisions open face up when dropped to the waist), but then this doesn't COST as much as the superior LowePro products and has proven just about as durable.

I suspect that this is very close to the size of the Slingshot 200, but you save about 25% (today, about twenty bucks). If size is right and cash no object or if speed of access is absolutely essential, buy the LowePro Slingshot 200. If cost matter more, consider this Doluca.

I bought the large version. It is big and can hold lot of stuff. Only complaint i have is that if you don't fill up camera gear, it rattles. It would be good if there are more number of compartment padding so that you can customize it into small compartments.

Best Deals for Dolica DK-30 Large Travel Notebook Backpack/Sling

Pro's: Sturdy/durable, good carrying options,

Con's: Slots are too large, not enough slots/ pockets/ elastic rings for peripherals. Velcro dividers don't seem like they'll stay in place. The storage and spaces don't seem to make that much sense.

I have a Canon 7D with a 24-70mm, 50mm, and a 135mm fixed, all quality canon glass, some extra filters, a spare battery (no battery grip), a spare CF Card, lens cleaners, tripod, The space for the camera with 24-70mm attached is great with room to spare (almost too much room to spare). When I go to organize all my lens, I find that there's almost too much room for my lenses as well, so I feel like they're bumping around in there. i tried, re-positioning the dividers, but there's really only one divider that I can re-position that makes sense. That's complaint 1. My second complaint is that there aren't enough side pockets for all my peripherals to be secured, so I ended up just piling them in the top main compartment, which is almost like a small glove box. Although a very disorganized way to do this, I wouldn't mind it, but there's the compartment is not sealed off from the rest of the bag, so if my lens cleaner (it's shaped like a marker) sometimes falls through the crack and is floating around in my bag. Also, my extra filters don't have a secure and separate place to slide in, so they're jammed together in a compartment. There's plenty of space for the memory cards, but to tell you truthfully, I don't care if my extra memory cards are bumping around a pool of other items, they'll be just fine. But glass that's gonna be between myself and my subject, should have their own compartments. Overall a decent bag, but if I had to do it again, I'd go with something different.

Honest reviews on Dolica DK-30 Large Travel Notebook Backpack/Sling

A very nice looking bag with great storage but at this point, I'm highly frustrated and very disappointed in the initial quality of this bag and that's even before first use. I already have a functional camera bag but was excited to get this larger backpack to tote my camera and additional gear in. I opened the bag today and alas the zipper along the top is jammed or broken. I've been working on it to see if I can get it to work but to no avail. Can't say that I'm looking forward to contacting Dolica's customer service as they 1. Don't provide an 800 number and 2. It looks as though I'll have to pay to send the bag in for repair and then they decide if it qualifies for the warranty. New bag that's already broken = UPSET. I don't feel like having to take the time OR expense to fix this unexpected and unwanted problem when it should have been first rate quality to begin with.

Bought the Dolica DK-30 bag, after having been pleased with their CF tripod, my specific purpose was to store and carry my gear and laptop on long trips, I should say the bag did not meet the purpos. My main issues are

1) The seam that attaches the shoulder straps to the bag has given away

2) The seam that run around the laptop case is giving away.

3) Not happy with the placement of the tripod holder. with the Tripod mounted, the entire weight of the tripod rests on the Zippers of the front flap, which would eventually weaken the zippers.

I was carrying a D7000 with 4 lenses, a Flash and a laptop with a few accessories, always used it n the two shoulder strap configuration

New to SLR digital photography. I am an obsessive researcher when buying big items and ended up getting a Nikon D90 with the kit lens(18-105VR). Did the same with camera bags. I'm not as crazy as some about the "sling" bag by Lowepro. I found this at Best Buy then later ordered it on Amazon.

For the money I love this bag!

1)It seems extremely well made. I can not imagine dust or anything getting to my precious camera when it is in this bag.

2)It closes with a zipper and then a flap and then even has a bag for rain that covers the whole thing if needed. It comes from a hidden zipped pocket in the outside bottom of the bag.

3)Very versatile with the pads & velcro to design the inside any way you want. (I had extra pads and put them in the pocket under the lid which helps protect the camera screen even more when the bag is closed.)

4)Has a strong handle on top to carry or a an excellent over the shoulder adjustable strap that is easy to put on the bag but difficult to get off -which is good. You are not going to drop your bag due to the strap coming loose.

5) The bag is just the right size. I would not get the smaller one. This one has some growing room. Could fit another zoom or two, maybe a flash.

6) PLENTY of pockets, everywhere for memory cards (2 specifically padded for the cards)or whatever.

7) I even like the color.

My D90 with the lens hood on fits lens down into it perfectly with pads on each side and room on both sides for more. I believe it would work with the 70-300mm and the 18-200VR lens (on the camera).

I read a lot of reviews and looked at a lot of bags online. It was when I got the bag ,put the camera in and really looked it that I realized how great it is. There were no reviews yet but I could not be happier with this choice.

Hope this helps my fellow obsessive researchers make a decision.

Previously, I had purchased the Lowepro Slingshot 200, thinking that it would be practical in its unique way of accessing equipment in a hurry. After auditioning it with all my equipment, I realized that there was no way that I would, or want to grow into the leftover space inside that huge camera bag. So, I returned it to the store. While researching camera bags further, I came across the Nova 180 AW. Knowing that I'd be satisfied with the quality from seeing other Lowepro bags, it was only the size that I was concerned about. Before I ordered this bag from Beach Camera through Amazon, I went to the local store to see the smaller, Nova 170 AW model to see how it looked for sizing. Although the 170 model is not actually very much smaller than the 180, it only would hold just my camera with lens attached, a second lens and one flash unit. After trying all my equipment in the bigger 180 model, I see that it fits my equipment (Nikon D80 w/70-300mm lens attached; a 28-80mm lens; 2 separate flash units -Sb600 & sdx50) and with room to spare for 2 other lenses or flash units. I believe that I could reconfigure the dividers to hold 2 DSLR's with lenses attached, plus 2 flash units or lenses. There are lots of pockets on the outside and an all weather cover which means a lot to me as I enjoy nature photography. The pockets inside the top lid hold lens filters nicely, and the smaller 2 pockets for SD cards is a very appreciated touch. I tried on the bag with all my gear inside to see how heavy it would be. Not bad, actually, and quite comfortable to wear on account of the padded strap. Prior to this whole 'camera bag hunting expedition' I used the Tamrac Expedition III backpack. It was a tad too small and was very inconvenient for getting at the camera in a hurry as I had to remove it completely and find a place to set it down flat in order to take anything out (otherwise, contents would just fall out of the bag once you'd unzip it, if it was upright). The Nova 180 carries like a purse, is accessable like a purse, is comfortable whether wearing the strap diagonally across chest or on one shoulder. I was concerned about its boxy appearance and how it would effect the wearability, but it doesn't feel cumbersome at all. This bag is going on a trip with me and I'll carry it on the plane. It crossed my mind that this bag screams 'camera bag' and I might be targeted by thieves, but I think wearing it across my chest will keep it pretty secure. The bag and I are both pretty sturdy, so we'd endure the struggle, no worries;-)I agree with the previous reviewer on this bag, particularly to get this size rather than the 170. The small difference in dimensions ends up being a big difference somehow, in terms of capacity.

Best Deals for Lowepro Nova 180 AW Camera Bag - Chestnut Brown

This is a great bag for someone looking for a good carry-all and storage solution for a medium size DSLR with extras. This bag is large enough for me to carry *all* my camera equipment with me. It has room for my Canon 60D with EF-S 18-135mm lens attached its the perfect height for lens-down storage, and the body fits across the width or length depending on configuration. Plus it fits an additional lens, external flash, battery charger, etc. It has enough space if I decide to buy another lens or two, or if I carry a charger for rechargeable AA batteries (for the flash). The pocket on the exterior flap is good for lens caps or filters, and the exterior pocket can hold batteries, cables, you name it. While it has a good amount of storage, I think it's a bit too bulky for regularly carrying around while shooting I'd get something smaller and more basic that can carry just the camera with lens attached and maybe an extra battery.

The bag feels solidly constructed/stitched, nice zippers, and it's fairly rigid it will maintain its boxy shape even when empty. It comes with two large (~6" wide) dividers (with floppy tops) to be used across the width, three narrow (~3" wide) dividers to span between the large dividers, and one half-height divider to create a small compartment (e.g. for a 50mm prime). All the dividers are padded and have full-length velcro along the edges. The top of the bag features a nice sturdy lip that keeps the interior fairly protected when the top is latched but not zippered this is a feature I like and it is present on Lowepro and some other brands, but not all. The lip will keep the bag fully closed when carried by the shoulder strap, and somewhat closed when carried by the handle. The front buckle can be cinched tight. The shoulder strap is very adjustable, and the pad features a surface that is neither slippery nor rubbery/ultra-grippy, which I think is a good compromise. The buckles are metal ans seem strong enough.

When wearing the bag, the top flips toward the user's body (opening facing away) and can be flipped completely down against the body for access to the interior [for an example that opens towards the user (top flips away) see M-ROCK Glacier Bay 661 Digital SLR Camera Cases (Black) ]. The two 'water bottle holders' on the sides are elastic but I'm not sure that anything would fit securely there. As for the all-weather cover...it's stitched into the seam of the front pocket and although it folds up compactly in a dedicated compartment, it can't be removed without cutting it off.

As another reviewer mentions, the Chestnut Brown color is hard to describe (it's actually two tone) but I find it to be a nice change from ubiquitous black luggage and gear cases. As far as the style...well it is obviously a camera/camcorder case. I had been searching for a bag that looked more subtle, like a generic messenger bag or shoulder bag, but none of the ones I found featured zippered tops something I deem as essential for travel. I sacrificed some style for a lot of functionality and so far I don't regret it.

Honest reviews on Lowepro Nova 180 AW Camera Bag - Chestnut Brown

I am a new photography student so everything is a new experience. We were told to make sure we get a bag with lots of padding and Lowepro was a suggested brand offering those features. My bag holds a my big camera, a 50mm and short zoom lens, an SB600 flash, card reader, lens cleaner, eye glasses, eight batteries in holders, several cards, and the owners manuals for the camera and flash. There are two little side pockets for cell phone and chewing gum. This bag seems to be the right size for storing everything. To other newbees, as the collection of photographic equipment grows over time, another bag might be needed. However, it was recommended that the photographer take only what is needed for the intended photographic excursion. So, this bag will serve me for a very long time because it is the right size for me to travel with.

The handsome bag is muted in color and offers custom interior configurations for your stuff. The zippers are well constructed and offer easy in and out of the compartments. The handle is well padded and large enough to accomodate even large hands. The shoulder strap is wide with extra padding providing comfort when toted in that way. Although I had not shopped much for bags outside of the internet, it is sturdy and comfortable. I read in previous postings that the hardware on this bag were well made. Although I have not thought to examine the hardware, it seems to fit the calibur of the bag. For me, it is not too big and not too small and offers portability, organization, and protection of my little collection of stuff.

I have two other Lowepro bags that are extremely well made. I purchased them about three years ago. I was shocked to see how much their quality has gone downhill. The canvas used was thin and stiff. The seams are not all double stitched and the cording they used to use around the seams doesn't exist any longer. Also, the plastic clamps are much less heavy duty and don't appear they will stand up as well over time. I have loved all of my old bags by Lowepro, but I purchased another camera and needed a larger case. I am so disappointed and will be returning this bag and going to the local camera store to check out some other brands before I purchase my next bag. As far as the size, there is no way this holds a DSLR and 4-5 lenses. I have a Canon 5D Mark II with the Canon 24mm-105mm lens. I also carry my 85mm lens. With these two items in the bag, most space is taken up. You would have to have extremely small lenses to have it hold 4 to 5 lenses.

I got the 3535 Ultra-Compact Messenger Bag to carry my Canon S3 IS, extra batteries and memory cards and a battery charger. The camera has a lens adapter + filter + new cap, meaning its depth has grown. In order for it to fit in the bag, I had to remove one of the padded dividers (a horrendous battle with pieces of velcro sticking to everything), but now the camera fits nicely, lens turned upward. The remaining divider separates the camera from the charger, which is good. Extra batteries and cards are safely stowed in the front compartment -the cards within the zippered part. A cleaning cloth fits in the small compartment on the front flap. There is a little side pocket for my cellphone, a nice touch if I don't want to carry extra volumes on a day out. The bag is well made and very sturdy, padding on all sides. I would like it to be slightly shorter and slightly wider, but it does the job well.

I share pretty much all of the same opinions with the other reviewer. I also removed one of the velcro dividers in order to use the bag with my Canon S3 IS and adaptor/lens converter. I keep batteries and memory cards in the front pocket, a card reader in the side, and a lens cleaning cloth in the flap pocket. With some wrestling, I can fit my large AA battery charger in the bottom of the main compartment, but I don't think I'll do this unless necessary.

Buy this bag if you like to carry lots of accessories with your camera. Do NOT buy this bag if you are just looking to carry your S1/S2/S3/S5 IS and a few small items (like a set of batts and a memory card). This will be WAY too big if that's the case. An alternate, smaller bag I recommend is the Lowepro Edit 110 mini-camcorder bag. That worked well for my S3 IS and its batteries and cards, before I got the extra lens kit.

Best Deals for Tamrac 3535 Express 5 Camera Bag (Black)

The bag is very attractive but just too small to hold my camera and two lenses. Perfect for a little digital camera but not the Canon Rebel. Should have purchased the bigger one, for sure.

Honest reviews on Tamrac 3535 Express 5 Camera Bag (Black)

Indeed. I chose it for its small size and it is just what I need to protect and carry my Panasonic Lumix FZ8. The inside pocket holds it fast and the small extra pouches hold SD cards, cables, filters...

More: It fits in my hand luggage. I love it.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Tamrac 3535 Express 5 Camera Bag (Black)

Good bag for a small DSLR with lens and small accessories good "walking around" bag when you don't want to lug all your gear. Flat bottom to stably rest on, although a little top-heavy without a heavy lens, so might fall over if provoked. Nice long shoulder strap (though no shoulder pad), handle on the top back is a plus.

Only complaint is that the plastic buckle that secures the flap over the main compartment isn't idiot-proof (especially when you're not watching carefully as you close it): half the time the ends will not align quite correctly when closing the buckle, although they will continue to slide together most of the way, possibly fooling you into believing the flap is securely latched when it isn't. Shouldn't require such careful attention (two hands while looking closely in adequate light) just to perform a task which can be done behind your back (one-handed if you're reasonably dexterous) on most backpacks or other gear with similar latching mechanisms.

I mainly use it with a Canon XSi (450D) with 50mm f/1.4, and it has plenty of room in the main compartment for an extra inch of foam padding below the lens (in case I drop it hard), plus a charger, filters, etc. and a 1/2" deep front zip pocket that covers the full height and width of the bag for lens brush, mem cards, and other accessories. Best bag I've seen so far for my purposes.

Great price, great product! I've used Pelican cases in the military for years and now these two cases for home use as emergency preparedness grab and go. I especially like the sturdy pull handle and rollers.

It's a pelican so you know the quality is great. Unfortunately like a lot of amazon descriptions the details of the descrippton are somewhat lost. This pelican although a 1650, is designed a little different than my others, which I don't like as much. First of all the main handle on the front is half as long as I'm used to. It's not designed for a 2 handed lift. Not good. Also the bottom of the peli has awkward feet that stick out which make it uncomfortable when carry the case because the feet scratch against your leg. I like the wheels and the pull out handle on the top. Overall this was a great price and was amazon Prime. But I would have bought the other style if done again.

There are some valid reasons for having a real camera bag or case. For example, so that you can carry extra batteries, SD chips, maybe filters, etc.

But I'll bet 90% of the time, all you really want is protection of the camera itself from physical damage, etc. The camera already has a carrying strap. Why do you need another one on the case itself ?

This stretchy foam case will provide the desired protection perfectly well, and give quick ready access after you have stretched it a bit (initially it is a tight fit).

For air travellers, in these days of luggage restrictions, it works as packing protection and saves valuable weight compared to the usual "real" camera bag.

Best Deals for Fotodiox Neoprene Zoom Camera Cover Sleeve (Travel Case) for Kodak

This item is a little tight but does work for the Kodak Z990 and the Panasonic FZ150. It is a nice addition to my Photography collection.

Honest reviews on Fotodiox Neoprene Zoom Camera Cover Sleeve (Travel Case) for Kodak

Pros -

1) Excellent material the neoprene is high quality

2) Great build quality stitching appears very sound

3) Velcro closure on the portion that "loops" around the lens is heavy duty velcro.

Con (only one) -

1) The product was advertised as being designed for my Kodak EasyShare Z981, which has a protruding viewfinder and an off-center lens. The fit is not exact, as the lens "pouch" is centered on the product.

I just hiked in Colorado with my camera strapped to the outside of my backpack with the Fotodiox sleeve as the camera's only protection. It took the bumps and occasional abrasions just fine.

Would I buy it again? Yes. If you have the EasyShare Z981 should you buy it? Yes absolutely.

This seems to be perfectly designed to hold PocketWizards unlike a lot of other cases out there that aren't the right shape or width. I currently have 3 flex TTs, A mini TT, A Plus III, and the little RF adapters that come with the FlexTTs. Now it's tight with all that but it seems to hold them safely. It would be nice if it had a divider between the units so they didn't sit directly on top of each other but it seems to hold them snug so maybe it isn't an issue.

Customer Ratings: 4 stars

I got this case for my Nex-5, and it's very well made. It comes in two parts, one connects directly to the camera via a screw into the tripod mount, and still has threads so you can mount the camera to a tripod with the case attached, very nice. The leather is nice, and has a cool texture to it. Overall the quality is excellent, and it's well thought out. What prevents me from giving it five stars is that the case will not fit if the flash is attached to the top of the camera, and my flash is always attached. If you do not use the flash very often, or dont mind screwing and unscrewing the flash whenever you want to use your camera, this case is definitely for you.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I bought this under the notion that it was leather. This product is not leather but plastic with a paper base. Although it fits the camera, it is NOT a leather case as stated. You are buying a plastic case that is "simulated leather". The texture itself is not even close to leather.

Best Deals for Leather Camera Case For Sony NEX-5 E 18-55 mm or F3,5-5,6 (Black)

I've been using this case for a few weeks now and I absolutely love it. I purchased a different case just for the body off of amazon a few weeks prior to this one. That case simply slipped on to the bottom and was held in place by a small plastic post that went in to the hole you would mount a tripod in to. When this case was on it not only made the camera feel odd in the hand, but it also blocked the ability to put a tripod on the camera. I found this case and decided to give it a shot. When I want full protection for the camera/lens I leave it all snapped together, then when I'm ready to start snapping photos i remove the front portion of it from the bottom of the body case (it just snaps on) and have at it. What's really nice about this case in my opinion is that it fits the camera snug and is actually attached by screwing in to the tripod mount. On the bottom of the case where you turn the knob to screw it in to the tripod mount of the camera, is a hole for the tripod to mount to.

For anyone that wants to leave an attachment on their camera at all times, this clearly isn't going to be the camera case for them as it's very form fitting to the body/lens. Also, keep in mind if you're looking for a case to go with just the body and pancake lens they make one that is a bit shorter in length to better fit that setup.

Honest reviews on Leather Camera Case For Sony NEX-5 E 18-55 mm or F3,5-5,6 (Black)

I love this case. I am using it with my Sony Nex-5R camera. It fits perfectly around the camera with the 18 55 mm lens and the flash installed. This is much better than any NEX-5R case from Sony because their cases do not fit with the 18 55 mm lens (must have a smaller lens) or with the flash installed. The quality is nice as well and the leather is completely fine and similar to the quality sold by Sony, and at a fraction of the cost.

The price was important and I did not have high expectations but I was pleasantly surprised. This a a good case. It fits the camera well including the longer lens as well as with the flash attached, which most cases don't accommodate. I am very pleased with it overall.

I had some cheap "cut-n-stick" screen protectors before the InvisibleShield. The old ones never stayed stuck, and they obscured the LCD a bit. Zagg's shield is almost unnoticeable, and shows no signs of going anywhere after 6 months of everyday use. Get one!

you use this special liquid to wet the sticky side and can slide it around (or even take it off and put it back on) until you are satisfied with the placement. It is invisible once on, and much the image is sharper than with other screen protectors I have used.

I admit that I was a little hesitant to purchase this protector due to the higher cost. Other shields for my camera were pricing out at a pack of 2 or 3 for half the price. Well, I'm happy to report that I am glad I purchased this item. The installation was easy and it is firmly attached. No slippage here! The film stays on and it is crystal clear. Yes, you can see it is there with the display off, but when you have the display on it completely disappears. Spend the extra money and get a product that works.

It was fairly easy to install. I take my camera outdoors a lot and needed this screen protector.

Compared several products and decided on this. Glad I did.

This is a great screen protector and fits perfectly on my Pentax K-r LCD screen. In greatly reduces smudges and smears and eve cuts down on some of the sun glare. It is much easier to keep clean and clear than the original screen. I also have one on my iPhone and it is great for that too. Although I treat my items with great care, I also think this would protect well from scratches but, thankfully, have never tested yet!
