I love this bag so much that I'm writing a review right away. I'm going on a business trip to DC which includes meeting Senators and Congress members so I needed a professional yet fashionable women's business/laptop bag. I've had trouble finding a bag that my bulky laptop from work fits into and didn't think it would fit at first but after I unsnapped the sides of the bag I found that the laptop easily slid inside and I could still easily snap the sides back together also pleasantly surprised to find another pocket in the folds of each side. My laptop measures 14 inches wide so it just fits but I'm so happy to now have a cute bag that works for me and that I can be proud of carrying! The material was also a nice surprise I was worried about getting a bag with light colors and that it might easily get dirty but the material isn't a fabric like I thought but instead this water-resistent textured material that can easily be cleaned but still looks like good quality and professional. There is also plenty of space because there are more compartments on the outside length of the bag behind the jill-e logo emblem there is a magnetic snap that holds together this outer compartment and it's similar on the other side of the bag.
The downside:
1. It doesn't have a top zipper closure like the description states and like one of the pictures shows. I even went directly to the jill-e.com site and it also has that picture for this bag. It looks like maybe they used the picture from their satchel so this is very misleading. I would have liked that feature as I have a wireless mouse, calculator, jetpack, etc. that I travel with and if I need to put the bag under an airport seat then I don't want those things falling out. There is a small outer zipped pocket and inner zipped pocket, although I usually put smaller things like thumbdrives, business card holder, and ID in those types of pockets. There is a leather strap sown into the inside of the bag with a clip on the end that I guess I could use to attach an accessories bag. There is also a key ring and a cute ID holder tag on the clip that is a nice feature to include.
2. It would be nice if this bag came with a matching leather strap to wear cross-sholder messenger-bag style. Another addition that I will likely make if I can find a strap that matches and has large enough clips on its ends to go around the gold rings that the handles are attached to. I bought the bag knowing this but willing to make an exception since I can't seem to find one with everything.
3. The final reason for 4 stars is that I bought the bag for $122 and glad I went back on the site to write this review because now I see it's sold on Amazon by Beach Audio for $67.07 plus $10.26 shipping! I'm an Amazon Prime member so usually order Prime eligible items only but what's the point if I'm going to get ripped off! I'm going to order through the other seller and return the first one to save $55!
