I found this after searching far and wide for a reasonably-priced case and spare battery for my SD1400. Although I don't believe the description is misleading, I've found that the case isn't really a good fit in more ways than one. It's just a generic case that "fits most compact digital cameras", and I was hoping for something a little more snug. It also doesn't have a hole for the strap, so there's no way to hold the camera by the strap while it's in the case. The Canon cases I've had for previous cameras have all had these useful properties. The only problem is the Canon case alone for the SD1400 is $25 on their site, and the battery is about $70. So this is certainly a lot cheaper than the OEM stuff, but I guess you get what you pay for.

I haven't tried the battery yet so I don't have any opinion on that.

This case is a perfect fit for my Powershot SX260 HS, with room for two extra batteries even with the larger than standard hand/neck strap that I use. I think it's hard enough to prevent crushing damage as well.

I wanted a case that was protective, soft inside and hard shell, and would snugly fit my new Canon PowerShot SX260HS, and this works perfectly! I know it won't fit every camera, and I actually have purchased 3 different cases before finding this one, since the others did NOT fit! I guess when you can't shop in person, it's hit or miss. Worth the price!

I like it for my camera Canon Powershot SSX260 for suitcase/ briefcase travel and in my purse. There is an extra interior pocket for a cord or other accessory but not room for the battery charger. It is hard enough to be protective. That makes it rather big for slipping in a jacket or pants pocket but it serves the purpose I bought it for. I may buy a stretchy smaller case for more portability but still would use this one also depending on situation. It is attractive and the 2 zippers allows you to leave the camera strap hanging out of the case if you want.

Honest reviews on Durable and Elegant Extra Thick Digital Camera Case + Green

I searched and searched for a case for my new Cannon PowerShot SX260. I always have my camera in my purse. So I wanted something that would do a decent job protecting it from anything that might bang into it, or even a stray pen (or anything else pointy in there) that might end up poking it. So I didn't really want just a simple fabric case.

This case is sturdy and thick enough I don't feel like anything will be able to poke through it and hurt or scratch up my camera in any way. It's light weight enough and it's a decent color. My camera fits in the case well, but you can't really fit much else in there with it. It does have a nice little pocket inside, but when I put my extra battery in it I had to shake/move it around a bit to get the case to zip up. An SD card would probably fit ok though. It also has a little velcro strap inside to make your camera extra secure. It's a nice feature and I like that it's there, but I don't tend to use it much.

All in all I am happy with this purchase. It keeps my camera nice and safe. The only draw back is that there isn't room for anything else in there with it. That wasn't a huge deal for me though, so as long as it isn't a problem for you then I would recommend this case!

I keep my Canon PS ELPH 520HS in here when I travel. It has room for the USB cable, spare SD card

and a spare battery. If it were just a little larger, I could keep the battery charger in it.

It has a hard, but flexible shell. The zipper is excellent quality. A cheap carbinier (sp?)

lets you hook it to a belt loop or backpack ring.

I bought this after having bought a smaller, simpler, cloth case for the tiny Canon 520HS.

I didn't think the smaller one offered any crush protection. The larger one does.

I would recommend it.

AmazonBasics Leather Camera Case for Digital Cameras -Black Review

AmazonBasics Leather Camera Case for Digital Cameras -Black

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program When I pulled this little camera case out of its box, I immediately thought it was going to be too small for my Fujifilm FinePix Z700EXR camera, but it fit perfectly! This is a sturdy, classy, soft-leather case with soft grey suede inside. The little inside pocket for carrying an extra battery is tight and out of the way; I'll probably use it to put identification inside in case I ever leave the camera lying on a table somewhere. With my camera's side strap sticking out of one side (which I prefer to running it through the top hole because access is quicker), it's like a little mini-purse. The cutout in the top happens to be right over the USB cable port on my camera, so if I had to (but I probably won't), I could run the USB cable to it without removing the camera from its case. Another thing I could do if I wanted to is use that little hole to loop an ID tag or small ID/credit card holder through using one of those beaded lamp-pull type thingies. Then I really could travel light.

Little things mean a lot to me, and I have to say I just love the magnetic clasp underneath the low-key silverish AmazonBasics logo on the front of the case. The magnet is not so strong as to be annoyingly hard to pull apart, but it's strong enough to do the job without slipping. The little circular magnetic piece in the clasp has a small center button that fits into a recession in the other part of the clasp; when closing the cover, you hear a satisfying little click when you slide it into place, so you know it's snugly closed.

I was thinking when I got this (not paying great attention) that the holder "clip" on the back was actually a clip suitable for clipping to the edge of your pants or a coat pocket, but it's not. It's actually better than that, because we all know how quickly those clips break off our cell phones. This one closes with strong velcro so you can loop it through a belt loop or other strap or onto a belt. The part of the holder that does not have velcro on it is not quite an inch wide, though, so it wouldn't work as well with wider belts. With the camera in it, it would be too heavy (at least for me) to want to wear around your neck, but you could definitely put it on a lanyard if you wanted to—and then perhaps stick it in a breast pocket so it's not dangling. One nice thing about the velcro is that, even though it is sewn on very well, part of the piece that is sewn to the camera case actually lifts up as you pull the velcro apart. This should extend the life of the case because you're not pulling against case stitching when you're trying to get it apart. This is not wimpy velcro, so you have to tug a bit to get it open.

I really like it!

Was able to tightly squeeze the Canon Powershot Sx230 into this seemingly well built case, though the top would not close. Obviously too tight for this camera. The strap hole seemed to be a good idea, but trying to get the strap in and out of the hole is a waste of time. Will be looking for a larger case with more functionality, perhaps horizontal on a clip.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Having seen many reviews for this product go up not long after the initial offering was made through Amazon's Vine program, I figured I'd hold off until I'd used the case for an extended period of time, just for the sake of testing its longevity. Now, after 8 months of fairly consistent travel and use, I'm very please with how well it has held up after being thrust in and out of pockets and backpacks, and set down on all manner of surfaces in all manner of weather. The case design is functional, not fancy, and the fit on my Panasonic Lumix FH20 is very snug, which is exactly what I was hoping for. Obviously, different camera brands will yield different results. The magnetic clasp is also snug, in large part due (once again) to my camera's tight fit, but once it's in place, it stays there, and has NEVER popped open unexpectedly. The soft material on the inside of the case is a huge improvement over lower-end cases made entirely of thin faux-leather inside and out.

The only drawback to this case -and it would depend entirely on how you like to port your camera around -is the velcro belt strap, which would offer little resistance to a thief if you were wearing the case on your belt. Then again, even a metal clamp would only offer moderately stronger protection against a good hard yank. Mind you, a thief is either gonna yank your camera no matter what's holding it to your belt, or ignore it completely because it draws instant attention of the wearer. If you're like me, and you carry your camera in a pocket, even when it's in the case, this will be of little concern.

Apart from that, this is a well-designed and practical case. Just remember to measure your camera against the dimensions provided on the product page. As mentioned, I've been using it for 8 months and have really enjoyed the extra attention it affords my Lumix, which was purchased only days before Amazon made this case available last June.

I also appreciated the AmazonBasics packaging, which went immediately into the recycle bin. Hope to see more of this in the future, particularly on items that often come entombed in acres of heat-sealed plastic!

Honest reviews on AmazonBasics Leather Camera Case for Digital Cameras -Black

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program AmazonBasics has introduced another winning product with its Leather Camera Case for Digital Cameras.

I ordered this from amazon.com and as usual it arrived quickly. The case fit my Nikon Coolpix camera like a glove! The case snaps shut to keep the camera secure. The velcro strap fits around a belt, which is ideal for me. For those who don't wear a belt, there is a cut out at the top where you can access the ring that holds the camera strap.

It might seem like a simple thing, but now that I can securely carry my camera I can take advantage of more photo opportunities anytime, anyplace. For that reason, this accessory is a must-have for anyone who likes to take pictures.

I highly recommend this product to all pocket digital camera enthusiasts!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program My first recommendation before going any further into considering this camera case would definitely be to review the dimensions Amazon provides in the product description in this page. A common concern among reviewers about this case seems to be the size. I think Amazon does a great job by providing examples of cameras and brands that will fit in it as well as its dimensions so this should not be a point of concern in regards to the product. Per Amazon "Internal dimensions: 2.2 x 3.50 x 0.77 inches (56mm x 19.4mm x 89mm)"

This simple yet elegant leather case while basic, performs just as described. It has an open area on top so you can take out the camera's wrist strap that allows you to carry it secure in its case. If you rather not carry it like that, there is a Velcro belt loop that can be used to fit it around your belt if that suits you better.

The snap-front-flap is designed in a similar fashion to cellular cases that use a small magnet to keep it close and tight; the magnet is not too large so it is actually pretty convenient and does not seem to damage the camera inside (as I have seen in my experience with similar cases for my cell phones)

Keep in mind though that this is designed for small devices like pocket digital cameras, I own a Sony DSC-T7 and it fit just perfect! Just to give you another reference, I tried fitting into it a second generation Flip Mino HD and it also fit pretty well (though I intend to use the case for my DSC-T7)

Overall, another great product from Amazon basics, the frustration free package includes additionally the 1-year guarantee Amazon offers for the product. If it fits your camera, I highly recommend this case!

I bought this to use as a pouch case for my iPhone and it fits perfect. I just toss it in my purse and no worries about scratches. Doesn't muffle the ring at all. It's also lightly padded so I don't worry about it knocking around in there either. And it's so much prettier then a lot of the phone cases out there.

I love the two different compartmentalized sides. It separates the camera from your batteries, cords and other items and is easy to access. The non-camera side also has a number of pockets, some with zippers to separate everything nicely. The strap is long enough to throw over your shoulder or around your body (like a messenger bag). In other words, its everything it was listed as and perfect for a small, non-removeable lens DSLR and accessories when you don't want to lug around a hug bag of lenses and other equipment (like on vacation!!)

Clik Elite CE200GR Small Lens Holster
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

I bought this to add to the waistband of the "Reporter" style Clik Elite bag. The tabs for attaching to the belt have a nice reinforced nylon part as well as the velcro straps. The zipper has a nice internal protective barrier so it can't scratch the lens. The holster itself has nice padding and a tiny bit of stretch so that it does fit a properly sized lens snugly and hold it firmly.

The holster came with a shoulder strap which was kind of a waste though. Would have preferred if it stowed its own little 'rain pouch' in the bottom to cover it in case of unexpected precipitation (like the Reporter bag itself does have, but it's rain pouch isn't big enough to cover the bag AND the lens holster(s) added to the belt) vs. a shoulder strap that will in my opinion very rarely get used. A product like this really is intended as an accessory for another bag, not as a carry-on-its-own thing.

At first, I was looking for a cute camera bag in which I could carry all my equipment without calling too much attention to my camera and stuff, but all the ones that I liked were $90 or more! I know that my equipment is very expensive, and of course I want to have the best storage possible so that it is save and sound whenever I carry it around; but I just think the prices for camera bags are absurd.

Anyway, I decided to buy a handbag and this case and use them together. I couldn't have made a better decision! This case fits perfectly inside the handbag I got, and it almost looks like those fancy, overpriced camera bags. The great thing is that I can also stick it inside a backpack or any other handbag that I'd like. It has a top so I can close it, that way, everything is safe if I decide to stick it in a backpack with other stuff; or it can also be removed completely if I want faster access.

I haven't tried its waterproof capabilities yet, but I sure don't plan on being near water with it... like ever. It comes with 2 adjustable velcro tabs, which sometimes can be a pain to adjust, but I think that's just me.

The delivery was extremely fast! I was told it was going to take 5-6 weeks to arrive; it only took a week!

I definitely recommend this product. I know it's not going to protect my equipment from 6-feet falls, but it will sure protect it from bumps here and there, dust, and all those little things that could damage it.

I picked this back pack style because I was tired of traveling and hiking around and only able to safely bring one lens with me. I tried regular backpacks but was always afraid that I'd break the lens with the lack of cushion. It's able to hold my three lenses, camera flash, ring light, and filters as well as the tripod on the outside. (but it's got to be a slim one to fit) and its very comfortable on your back. and the fact that it's purple! I love being different.

This is a very nice case, well made, fits perfectly on the Nikon P7100, and looks great. However, to use the camera, I have to take the front cover off as it hangs off the back of the camera rather than the old style front of the camera. Although I have ordered another case that works the way I want, I am keeping this case, too. The shipper did an excellent job and the case arrived very quickly from China.

I bought the camera bag at Unique Photo when I purchased my camera, a Sony DSC-RX100M2. It's a beautiful hot pink color made from a nylon material. Just the right size with enough padding inside to protect a compact camera. There is the main compartment for the camera, another zippered compartment and a spot on the back to slide stuff in. Nice long shoulder strap...light and easy to carry!

The website stated that the bag was 9x9, not. If you have a small handheld coolpix, this will work. I bought it for a Nikon P7100 thinking that at 9x9 it would be big enough, not. I had to order one size up. Now the bag itself is gorgeous, would really work, for a smaller camera.

It is nice and compact. Really all I need for my Nikon 1 J2. I can't seem to fit both my lenses in the bag without one being attached to the camera itself. Otherwise it doesn't fit. The bag itself is of good quality. The lens filters are useful on sunny days, but I don't see much of a difference otherwise in my photos. The cleaning kit is good. The air blower works wonders. I am a bit hesitant to try the lens cleaner. Really don'y have an opinion on the tripod. It's a bit flimsy, but it works. Overall I'm pleased. I just wish the bag had a bit more of a width and depth. It's probably too small for anyone with a standard DSLR.

Had been looking for a bag to store/carry my gear in for quite some time, and I wanted to get something that would hold pretty much everything I needed.

I watched the videos and read all the reviews, and decided this was it.

There is a TON of space in this bag. It was bigger than I thought, but it ended up being fine.

Loaded up, it gets quite heavy, but once you get it on your back, you don't notice how heavy it is.

The one thing I didn't like was the waist straps. On a day hike these will come in handy, but when you just grab and go, you don't really want the waist straps in the way. After looking at it, the waist straps are removeable (as well as the shoulder straps). You just undo the straps, and then unvelcro the waist band from inside the pack, and they're gone. Turns out this bag is more perfect than I thought.

Would definitely recommend.

I purchased this masterpiece backpack a month ago and since the first day I have the best experience of carrying smth behind my back.

Before it, I used to have various LowePro and Canon bags. But they were not spacious enough and constantly cause me a back pain after 7-8 hours of carrying/using them.

When I received this Kata bag, I filled it up with my camera, extra lenses, accessories and other electronics (iPad and laptop) as well as a tripod. When I tried it on, adjusted straps, i didn't feel any weight behind me. Straps were comfy and the bag weight was balanced.

There are different other accessories that come with the bag, double-sided rain/sun sleeve, hang bag for tripod, straps, etc. I haven't had a time to use all of them but the one for tripod is quite handy.

Bag can be transformed in various shape like it is described in the video on official web-site.

Bag survived one month of rough travelling across national parks and

In a nutshell, there're various pros and cons (pros mostly):

+ spacious bag (can be fitter in airplane hand/carry-on luggage)

+ lightweight

+ lots of accessories inside it

+ transformable

+ rugged and decent protection

+ great adjustment and weight balance

outside rubber bands/straps on the bag for tripod and other long things

cost (i spent 180 $ and this was with amazon discount)

bulky if you use it for short walks

no space for regular stuff (other than electronics)

The first thing you must know this bag is big, it is made to hold a lot of equipment. That is the main reason I bought this bag. Kata makes quality equipment and this bag is no different. Sturdy, comfortable, and easy access to both the main compartment and the pockets without having to open the whole bag. Holds all my equipment well and I still have a lot of room for more. Fits pro-dslr with grip easily. I have only had it for a few weeks now and I have not been disappointed.

Honest reviews on Kata Bumblebee PL-220 Backpack -Black

I have owned this bag for 6 months now after absolutely demolishing another cheaper bag from normal weekly use over 2 months. This bag has not only survived Friday and Saturday use for 6 months, but it went through a month of international travel being the bag I put all my valuables in, including 3 lens, 2 flashes, DSLR, Retina Macbook, Macbook Air, tablet, and lot of miscellaneous accessories. It was easily about a 50lbs when all packed up and it more than survived being packed to the hilt. In fact it looks brand new still. Though it is big I also had no issues from any domestic or international airlines to use it as a carry on. It actually still fits under the airplane seat of most planes.

Though the white one looks even better, it also attracts a lot more attention to what can easily be upwards of $10k in your bag. So it may not be such a good idea for some.

I took out the removable waist support, but its nice to know its there if I ever decide to use it for a hike.

I'm definitely one to overpack my bags, which is probably why my older cheaper bag had such a short life. However, despite crunching this Kata bag and pulling hard on the zippers, not one seam is compromised.

I don't think I ever left a 5 star review, but I certainly know I haven't left one without any caveats. Buy this bag. It is worth every penny.

Had a chance to use this bag this past week in the Smoky mountains, it has generous space for large lenses needed to capture those unique scenes with the full frame camera's I use. Straps are easily adjusted on both while wearing or on the ground, access to this pack has been well engineered and while loaded down the weight of all that equipment is nicely distributed between the shoulders and waist.

If I have anything negative to say about this pack it would be for the fastening means allowed for the top of the tripod, the supplied binder strap and related holding buckle are not easily tightened, and when loose the tripod shifts side to side which is annoying to say the least, once you finally get this tightened it will be fine, (2) holding straps would be better and more supple straps would work much better.

Access to this pack is gained by a zippers which can be opened in either direction allowing for full access to ample adjustable compartments. both side compartments are removable in their entirety and complete with a zippered cover, so no loose components will fall out of these.

So far loving this pack

This case was bought as a gift to be used with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2. The case is nice but the Lumix DMC-TS2 does not fit in this case with its strap and silicone protective slip on. You can still do up the zip as the neoprene has some stretch to it but it is pulling on the stitching and fidly to close. Once the carmera is in the case you can not fit anything into the small extra zip.

The color is nice i just would have liked the case to fit a bit better.

I had a critical criterion when shopping for a bag for my new SLR: it must not look like I am carrying a camera as much as possible. This way, I can carry the bag more often without being conspicuous. And this bag definitely delivers.

First off, the style and colour is really quite a departure from most camera bags. Without knowing this bag, it could easily pass off as an ordinary messenger bag. If orange isn't your thing, this also comes in all black.

Also important is that this bag isn't as thick sideways as bags of comparable size, so it doesn't stick out as much. Perhaps this is at the expense of some protection or additional storage, but I think it was an extremely good decision because it makes it look a LOT less bulky, and makes carrying it much more comfortable.

The strap is an over the head shoulder strap. Many camera bags of this size only come with shorter shoulder straps. This one makes it a lot easier to carry, and not only that, more natural as well.

Compared to other Tamrac bag with the same size, this one is missing the main bag zipper. I personally find it a plus, since it makes the bag smaller, and also the camera more accessible.

In term of storage space, this one fit my K100D with kit lens well (in fact, a little too well. If your camera is thicker, it may protrude off the top a bit.) Two slight problems present themselves. First, the camera strap takes creativity to get fit inside the bag. It's easier not to. The other problem area is that the presence of the lens cap made the bag a tighter fit. (Without the bayonet lens cap, it's a lot easier.) I don't have extra lenses, but I don't think it'll fit one on each side. In fact, the guide indicates just that; you can only fit lenses on one side; the other side can only fit something smaller, like flash.

!!! UPDATE !!!

I have since purchased a couple of primes; three in total. I have in fact been able to add all three of them to the bag; two on one side, another one on the camera grip side: all facing up. The bag bulges a little, but the fact is that it is able to fit lenses on both sides.

~~~ END UPDATE ~~~
The flap itself is a zipped storage, but has no real thickness. It has a back pocket area, but again no real thickness. Under the flap us is a decent misc. pocket area.
The one thing about Tamrac is I don't like the flap lock. It's unconventional, and in my opinion difficult to use.
At any rate, for a bag that is competitively priced with others that are the same size, and much better looking, this one deserves 5 stars for a job well done. The only comparable bag that I have seen at the store is from National Geographic that costs almost 5 times as much.
I would give this bag 5 starts if it weren't for the fact that the description says it's perfect for a DSLR, and it's really a bit small for even a small DSLR. Since Amazon doesn't list the dimensions for this bag, here they are, direct from :
Internal Dimensions: 7¾ W x 3¾ D x 8 H or 20 x 10 x 20 cm
External Dimensions: 10 W x 6 D x 9 H or 25 x 15 x 23 cm
I have an Olympus E-510, and the fit in this bag is a little tighter than I would like. At 3 and 3/4" inches deep (front to back) the bag really isn't large enough to hold a DSLR without the flash shoe snagging on the front of the bag and making it bulge out a bit.
Also, the way the camera rests in the bag, there is no room for a shoulder strap without using up one of the side (internal) lens pockets, or wadding the strap up and putting it in before the camera (under the lens attached to the camera body), which doesn't work with a large lens on the cam. The strap can be folded and put on top of the camera after inserting it in the bag, but this risks scratching the LCD, and makes the bag difficult to close.
I think the bag is worth every penny, but it is better suited for a smaller camera.
**Update: After purchasing the highly reviewed 50mm f/2.0 macro lens for this camera, I am afraid I'll have to sell my bag and find something larger. With any of the 3 lenses (50mm or kit lens) attached, the fit in the bag with the other two lenses stored in the internal pockets is too tight.
This bag is simply not suited for a DSLR camera...not even a smaller 4/3rds format one. If you must, you can get by with this bag with one lens attached and only one stored inside the case, but you'll be sacrificing function for fashion. If Tamrac could just come up with a bag 1" wider and 3/4" deeper (front to back) it would be perfect.
I bought this bag when I purchased a new Nikon D40, extra Nikon 55-200mmVR lens, and a Nikon SB-400 light. The information for the bag said that it would hold this amount of equipment. You can fit all this gear in the bag, but just barely after removing all the padded dividers. You can also fit the charger and cables in the front pouch, but the bag is packed very tight. If you use lens hoods, it gets even more crowded. I like the bag and will continue to use it, but I just wanted folks to know it will be a tight fit if you carry all the gear the bag is advertised to hold.
I was looking for essentially a single camera case that didn't look like a camera case. This case was well made and didn't look like your typical camera case. It was small like I had hoped, but it ended up too small for my Nikon D200. There is also no way that this would have held a camera and a couple of other smaller lenses as described. Probably good if you are looking for a small and light carrying case with minimal accessories and a camera that is smaller than the D200 (maybe good for the D40 & D40X's).
I wanted a bag that would protect my investment, be easy to carry when I want it around, and most importantly, NOT look like a camera bag.
This bag is perfect.
Everything fits snugly but comfortably, even an extra battery and some filters (this particular size has been perfect for MY needs, others may want to research all the different models). The bag is well designed to distribute the weight evenly across a shoulder and the bag hung unobtrusively behind my back as I took pictures with my camera. Lens and filter changes were accomplished easily from a standing position without the need for anything other than the open bag to assist.
The most important feature to me, as I mentioned earlier, a camera bag laying on the seat of a vehicle may add just enough incentive for a would be thief to break-in. This bag looks more like a youngsters book bag than a camera bag.
