I found this after searching far and wide for a reasonably-priced case and spare battery for my SD1400. Although I don't believe the description is misleading, I've found that the case isn't really a good fit in more ways than one. It's just a generic case that "fits most compact digital cameras", and I was hoping for something a little more snug. It also doesn't have a hole for the strap, so there's no way to hold the camera by the strap while it's in the case. The Canon cases I've had for previous cameras have all had these useful properties. The only problem is the Canon case alone for the SD1400 is $25 on their site, and the battery is about $70. So this is certainly a lot cheaper than the OEM stuff, but I guess you get what you pay for.

I haven't tried the battery yet so I don't have any opinion on that.

I purchased this case to house my DMC-GF3 with my 20mm Pancake lens. The case was a great color, great material and came extremely fast. The only issue is that it only fit the 14mm lens, there is about a 10mm difference in size in the lens and that causes it not to fit. I am sure that it would have fit the 14mm lens perfect, but i don't have the 14mm, that's why i gave it two stars.

Cheap Wrist Pod

The Wrist Pod is exactly how it's described. Attaches to any camera using the tripod screw and holds the camera securely against the wearer's wrist. Since I've gotten it, it's done exactly that! Seems to be made of quality materials that will last through wear and tear that's to be expected while traveling or doing other activities that require something like the wrist pod. I'm very happy with it!

My only note of caution this may be a little uncomfortable to people with smaller wrists (but they can't make the pod any smaller otherwise it won't fit regular-sized point and shoot cameras). I am a very petite woman and have very narrow wrists and at first the wrist pod felt very cumbersome and large but again logistically it can't get any smaller and after a while I was very comfortable wearing it (I use it mostly for snorkeling, so being in the water may be part of that). Still love this little gadget!

I was worried that my camera might fall off when I originally got this, but my worry was short lived. The grip is strong. If you know Velcro then you know what I'm talking about. It's permanently attached to a tripod piece, so you can just screw it into your tripod mound which is a very strong connection.

I like the fact that my camera can flip in when I want to really get physical, and flip out when I want to capture a moment. That feature is very convenient and gives me peace of mind.

Use it with your waterproof camera and jump on in because it's designed for water sports and activities.

I take it with me biking. I used to have to wear my camera on a strap around my neck and it would constantly flop around. This allows me to keep it secure and easily accessible. My only complaint is that I didn't find it earlier before I invested in that camera strap.

Got this for a beach holiday I'm NOT a surfer, but have just got a (TS-3) waterproof camera and wanted some efficient way of carrying it. The Golden Hour strap was the only real wrist mount I found. Just back from its 1st major trip and used it kayaking, cenote swimming, snorkelling and general swimming. And now while running with the dog at home...

As a means of transporting a small light (and ideally weather/waterproof) camera the wrist strap is a supremely good idea and well-executed! Just unvelcro the cover flap and your camera is secured to your wrist ready to go.

Some of the cenote photos I got would have been v difficult without this. I used a climbing harness and rope to rapell in; you wouldn't want a loose camera flapping around on a normal strap or in a shorts pocket in that scenario.

Any issues? Minor quibbles:

the circlip holding the tripod screw into the strap to stop it falling out is a bit fiddly and likes to drop off. Not a big issue as it isn't needed but something to keep an eye on (ie you won't find it in a sandy car park!).

underwater the cover strap velcro can float in the way of the lens I just doubled it back of course.

wrist velcro is too small really to go over clothes a version for going over outdoor clothing would be interesting for hikers, climbers etc when in inclement weather.

Summary: far more useful than I imagined. If you have a waterproof / weatherproof you probably would find this v useful.

The photos on Amazon don't really give you an idea just how big a bag this is. I've got all my camera gear in there, five lenses, one Canon Digital Rebel, flash, and, in addition to my laptop, I also lug around a 300 GB external hard drive. As you might imagine, this thing gets a bit heafty to carry (not something you'd want on your back while hiking), and despite all the space to accommodate so much equipment, I still had to purchase some attachments for the one thing I think they didn't plan for when designing this bag -power cords for your laptop. The laptop compartment is just big enough to squeeze in your laptop -and that's it. As for protection, the bag is well padded and my camera, lenses, laptop, etc. all seem very secure. This is my second Tamrac bag, replacing a 20-year-old over-the-shoulder pro model, so I know Tamrac bags are durable, hold up to snow and rain, and keep your expensive equipment safe. Finally, I definitely like the backpack design.

The CF cards fall out of one of the spots, so I try and use the other three. It is hard to open, but I kind of like that since it tells me that my cards are safe. It fits in your back pocket very similar to a wallot and the color is pretty cool.

This holder is pretty rugged. A hard resin shell with a rubber gasket for protection from water. It seals nice and tight. I use it to hold CF cards and they fit snug.

I would buy another if I had more cards.

I don't write many reviews, but feel compelled to do so in this case because I found a number of the other reviews either ambiguous or contradictory. I just couldn't find a clear and simple description of EXACTLY what this case can comfortably hold, and ended up waiting far longer than I needed to before I felt comfortable enough to order this case. I really wish that I hadn't waited, because it turns out that this is a nice case that holds a great deal. Hopefully this review will help others who want a clear understanding of the capacity of the case.

In simple terms, the main compartment of this case easily and comfortably holds: A Nikon D3000 or D5000 with the 18-55mm lens attached, a 55-200mm lens, and the battery charger and AC cord. All you need to do is remove and reconfigure the partitions so that you use two of the partitions to create three sections within the main compartment. Simple as that. If you don't want to store your camera with the lens attached, no problem, that works as well, and will even create a touch more free space within the main compartment.

The front zippered pocket can store the camera's shoulder strap, the video cable, the USB cable, and several SD cards. It might hold a little more, but that's all that I have in there. There are also two small side pockets that can hold extra SD cards or other small, fairly flat items of your choosing. For those that really want to carry the manual around, there is room for it to rest on top of the main compartment. The top of the case will easily fold over it and buckle closed with no problem.

Hopefully that helps. No guesswork, no speculation. Just a factual report of what this case comfortably holds. In short, I think that this is a great case for the Nikon D3000 or D5000. It's well constructed and comfortable to carry, and although I haven't viewed it yet, the DVD seems to be a valuable bonus.

The instructional video is excellent it is the best way to get started if you have never used this camera, even if you are an experienced photographer.

The camera case is nicely designed with a lot of extra Velcro partitions and specialty compartments and pockets for accessories. And if you remove unused partitions you may have room for one additional (e.g. 55-200 VR)lens. However, the owners manual will not fit in the case or a side pocket. This would be a perfect case if it were made slightly larger. If you will likely add an additional lens to your arsenal you might seriously evaluate other storage options that are more roomy, especially if you would like to keep the manual for a such a sophisticated camera close at hand when you travel.

It's very surprising to me that the main part of the bag closes with two buckles rather than a zipper. I am returning it because I can envision undesired things getting into the bag (dirt, water if it rains even a little) and can even imagine something falling out of the main compartment (although there is a smaller zipper compartment on the side). I'm going for a bag that seems more secure I suppose if I could afford this camera, I can afford a decent bag to protect it!

While some of the other reviews mention that you cant fit an additional lens, that doesnt seem to be a problem for me. The second lens is a snug fit and you have you put is vertically, but you can use the foam seperators to protect them. I have a D5000 with the 18-55 lens. I keep that attached to the body, and put my other 55-200 lens vertically in this case. Plus it holds all other accessories and wires. The best thing is that its not as big as some of the other cases.

Lowe Pro seems to be a brand a lot of people like from what I found when researching it.

I was a little worried that the case was going to be small for my camera but it turned out fitting perfectly in the case. I also put a spare battery in the little pouch located inside the case and although it was a little snugger once zipped closed, it still fit nicely. The color of the case looks a little bluer on my computer but in real life it's a really pale blue, which in my opinion is a nice contrast against the black zipper. For the price, I think it's a good buy. Update: After about a month of having the case, the clip broke while I tried clipping it to my pants (and I hadn't handled it roughly at all). Sometimes I have a hard time zipping the case closed-the zipper doesn't run very smoothly. Besides these things, it still think it's a good case. My camera was in this case and it slipped out of my hands (a 3 foot drop) and luckily nothing happened to my camera.

I purchased this case because it was specifically designed for the Canon PowerShot SX230.

Pros:

-Looks good

-Protects the camera

Cons:

-It's too snug. The camera fits, but it involves more effort than it should to fully zip.

-There's a small pocket on the front that you could put a memory card in, however it doesn't zip or seal shut in any way. Since the case is so tight, memory cards probably wouldn't fall out but it's a risk.

-The case is a bit awkward if you have the camera's wrist strap attached. With my old camera/case I had the camera's strap coming out of the case where the zipper ended instead of using case's strap. This doesn't work with this case.

It's not horrible, but I probably would have passed on buying this case had I known the above.

This is the "Panasonic" case for the GX1--fits perfect. There is NOT a tripod screw to hold case to body, but you really do not need it--it fits like a glove with enough friction to keep it stationary--of course the end closures secure the case to the body at the strap interface--there are a number of after market cases available, but the quality of the Panasonic version is excellent.

Excellent seller fulfillment---came right on schedule and in perfect condition.

Another Comment; the camera screen back cover cannot be removed from the main case; one side is fixed and one side has a closure snap.

This is not a problem since the fixed side slides away and down nicely to see and use all the camera controls.Personally I like this,

This is a fantastic case for the GX1. It fits snugly, fits the screen, and doesn't detract from the aesthetics of the camera. The back flap snaps into place to go in your bag, and swivels out when unsnapped to reveal the LCD and camera controls. I imagine that this works especially great with the Panasonic DMW-LVF2 External Live Viewfinder as you probably wouldn't even need the LCD nearly as often.

While it doesn't need the tripod mount to secure itself on the case, there's also no hole for inserting the camera itself onto a tripod. This would be nice, and I might end up drilling a hole myself so I never have to take the case off. That being said, you aren't going to find a better case than this one.

I was happy with a case from Panasonic and was expecting a case that covered not only the body, but also the lens. Unfortunately that is not the fact. The case is well made and fits perfectly, but i was disappointed to find that it did not covered the lens. At the price they charge for this, they should include a top closure that also protects the lens. They sent also a carrying band that is really not necessary, and it seems like an apology for not protecting the lens.

If i seem repetitive, it is because i want to make it clear for those buying this case-it does not cover the lens-. I kept the product as i did not want to expend more time searching for the product i expected.

Hope this helps others make an informed decision on this product.

I got this for my brand new Lumix GX1 and it fits great, looks great and is an interesting design. Great quality leather and soft lining for a custom fit. Like the idea that it forces you to only use the add on view finder, but after a while it also seems limiting. Thankfully it is easy to drop the back cover down or snap off to one side to get to the touch screen and buttons. Also, I wish you didn't have to take the whole cover off to access the sd card, battery and tripod mount. THere are others out there that deal with these issues but, they are pretty expensive, so this is a nice compromise. The included strap is nothing to scream about. I am happy to have it, so I do recommend but if one came out that solved a few of my issues I would spring for that.

I bought this for my Sirius XM Lynx. As advertised, it fits perfectly inside. The two zippers are ideal for when my headphones are plugged into the unit. I can zip them up on both sides to make sure the Lynx stays inside. The long strap works great for meI can put it around my neck.

Good quality construction all around. The zippers and clip for the strap are metal. The sides are soft-padded and would protect from light to moderate bumps or drops. The strap cannot be adjusted. The strap can be removed by a simple clip. I could put my own on this if I wanted.

This case is the Vivitar brand and can hold most smaller cameras. It came with a lens brush and cleaning cloth. There is a small pocket inside. Big enough for a memory card or spare key.
