What a great buy! This bag works great for either a digital still camera or mini camcorder. I purchased the Lowepro 40AW after researching them on the Internet and checking out the Lowepro site. I originally bought the 40 AW to use with my Toshiba PDR M-5 Digital Still Camera. I could fit either the still camera and all the accessories -cables, filters, you name it, or my Canon ZR10 with *almost* all the gear. But I loved it so much I bought this bag too -Lowepro Digital beltpack AW -for the ZR10. They are high quality camera bags and the Digital variety come with a special lining that will not scratch sensitive LCD screens! Lots of extra little pockets for tapes, smart cards, cables, and chargers too. The outside is soft yet rugged and well constructed. I think my high dollar digital camera investment feels safe and sound in this GREAT camera bag!

The case fits the Samsung Galaxy camera quite well, including along the top, where the power button is located. If you accidentally squeeze the case on top, this will activate the camera, which will try to extend its lens within the case. The problem is that the lens cover is stitched on and is non-removable. Also, the camera has a light sensor just outside the lens ring, which the case completely covers. If the case had a removable lens cover and cutaway holes for the light sensor, power button and shutter button, it would be perfect.

This case is perfect for my Galaxy GC110 camera. It comes with the sturdy form fitting case and a bag. I researched all of the options out there and if you are looking for something for your Galaxy Camera... this is it! The case fits so well that I can still put it in my shorts pocket when traveling (baggy shorts). It does not add much to the size and bulk of the camera but keeps it well protected. There is a cut out for the speaker hole. headphone jack, and the wrist strap. This is the best case I have seen for this camera and after a week of beating it up, it still looks great.

So, I got this nifty new camera and was afraid to bring it anywhere because I didn't want to damage it in transit. I had tried a couple different cases, one was (contrary to the description) a soft case that did nothing to protect the camera, the other more-or-less permanently attached to the camera obscuring the connectors. I like that this case is an easy-on/easy-off case. It protects the camera and is form-fitting so that I do not fear for my camera getting damaged as I carry it in my laptop bag.

This is a very attractive case that fits the Samsung Galaxy camera extremely well. The leather appears to be very good quality with nice stitching. I have the white camera, which comes with a white wrist strap. With the camera case, they include a black leather wrist strap, too.

My only concern is the magnetic closure on the camera case. It doesn't seem very strong.

Cheap Wrist Pod

The Wrist Pod is exactly how it's described. Attaches to any camera using the tripod screw and holds the camera securely against the wearer's wrist. Since I've gotten it, it's done exactly that! Seems to be made of quality materials that will last through wear and tear that's to be expected while traveling or doing other activities that require something like the wrist pod. I'm very happy with it!

My only note of caution this may be a little uncomfortable to people with smaller wrists (but they can't make the pod any smaller otherwise it won't fit regular-sized point and shoot cameras). I am a very petite woman and have very narrow wrists and at first the wrist pod felt very cumbersome and large but again logistically it can't get any smaller and after a while I was very comfortable wearing it (I use it mostly for snorkeling, so being in the water may be part of that). Still love this little gadget!

I was worried that my camera might fall off when I originally got this, but my worry was short lived. The grip is strong. If you know Velcro then you know what I'm talking about. It's permanently attached to a tripod piece, so you can just screw it into your tripod mound which is a very strong connection.

I like the fact that my camera can flip in when I want to really get physical, and flip out when I want to capture a moment. That feature is very convenient and gives me peace of mind.

Use it with your waterproof camera and jump on in because it's designed for water sports and activities.

I take it with me biking. I used to have to wear my camera on a strap around my neck and it would constantly flop around. This allows me to keep it secure and easily accessible. My only complaint is that I didn't find it earlier before I invested in that camera strap.

Got this for a beach holiday I'm NOT a surfer, but have just got a (TS-3) waterproof camera and wanted some efficient way of carrying it. The Golden Hour strap was the only real wrist mount I found. Just back from its 1st major trip and used it kayaking, cenote swimming, snorkelling and general swimming. And now while running with the dog at home...

As a means of transporting a small light (and ideally weather/waterproof) camera the wrist strap is a supremely good idea and well-executed! Just unvelcro the cover flap and your camera is secured to your wrist ready to go.

Some of the cenote photos I got would have been v difficult without this. I used a climbing harness and rope to rapell in; you wouldn't want a loose camera flapping around on a normal strap or in a shorts pocket in that scenario.

Any issues? Minor quibbles:

the circlip holding the tripod screw into the strap to stop it falling out is a bit fiddly and likes to drop off. Not a big issue as it isn't needed but something to keep an eye on (ie you won't find it in a sandy car park!).

underwater the cover strap velcro can float in the way of the lens I just doubled it back of course.

wrist velcro is too small really to go over clothes a version for going over outdoor clothing would be interesting for hikers, climbers etc when in inclement weather.

Summary: far more useful than I imagined. If you have a waterproof / weatherproof you probably would find this v useful.

The only drawback to the case is the color. I ended up with pink because that was the only color available at the clearance price. I've used the case for over month, and it's hard shell design has protected my camera beautifully throughout 4 trips. Gave it to my grandaughter along with a Panasonic Lumix FH6. It fits nicely, easy to get out, and the colors are an exact match. That was a nice surprise bonus because online the colors look nothing alike. I'm glad I did not find one that looked more the same color as the camera because I would have bought it and missed this little treasure.

The belt loop and the ring are great. They are her favorite features, plus the ease of removing the camera without risk of dropping it with the limited (but very adequate) hinge opening at the top. We can't say enough about how much we like this. 6 stars if possible. This thing is almost weightless (compared to others) and very tough, hard shell, and the finish is very high quality. The picture does not do it justice.

This case, purchased throught Amazon, is well made and fits properly. It is semi-rigid and, therefore, offers protection for the camera.

That is where the good part ends. It is bulky and inconvenient to use. It does not lend itself well to taking opportunisitic photos because the top cover must be rotated back out of the way before a pircure can be taken. In addition, attaching it to the camera should be easy, but seems always to be a little "fussy" and slow.

I purchased this pack primarily for mountain biking use, with some hiking and trail running occasionally as well. I like the size and ideas behind the pack, but it is definitely not perfect.

My main problem is the size of the actual camera compartment. I use a Nikon D300, and my most-used lenses are a Sigma 10-20 and Nikon 70-300 VR. The fit is very tight for any of these combinations, especially if the hoods are mounted, and almost unusable if I want to take both lenses with me. This body and these lenses are by no means huge, but they are larger than something like a D5100 with the kit 18-55 and 55-200. I think these more compact options would fit great.

I have yet to find a hydration bladder that fits well in the designated area. I also dislike the fact that the water goes on one side of the pack, it tends to make it feel unbalanced. It also shares its space with the one mesh key/accessory pouch, which makes it difficult to access.

Accessing the camera while on the trail is very easy. This is the feature that I most like about this pack. Simply unclip the sternum strap, leave the waist belt on and spin it around in front of you. The only downside is the tight fit of the camera, it tends to get caught up at times.

The removable padded camera compartment seems like an unneeded feature that is bulky and takes up a lot of space. I would rather gain some extra room or a smaller pack by getting rid of it and simply having a pack build as a dedicated camera carrier. I have other hydration packs for when I don't carry a camera, and I have other ways of carrying the camera if I'm not using this pack, so I would rather see a more specialized design that is more compact and efficient.

The pack is built well and with high quality materials, and is fairly comfortable to wear. The only problem I have seen so far is a small kink in the hydration pocket zipper, which happened when I was trying to pack a ton of stuff into the entire pack. I am currently still using the pack on short rides, but I may soon go back to my previous rig, which was a Think Tank Holster rigged as chest pack, which I attached to whatever backpack I was using for the day.

Since no one is writing about these babies, I will try to help others, even though I only had it for a day.

The cons first:

It has straps and cords all over it, I'm hoping they won't be a bother in the regular day to day use. Lowepro only included elastic bands to secure them on the 2 shoulder straps. For 100+ bucks they could have added a couple more...

The zippers are a possible irritation and, I must say, perhaps it is the fault of us, customers! I remember everybody complained that on the Flipsides the zipper did not come down 100% on the bottom and Lowepro listened to the customers, they fixed that. Now, the problem is that by doing this, the zippers get way more complicated to close, you WILL need both hands, which was not the case with the regular Flipsides. It is a minus point!!!

Now, the Pros:

It is smaller, waay lighter and less bulky than the Flipside 200 or 300 (although the right comparison for the 300 would be the 15L, I guess).

The inside is small, but good enough for, right now:

Nikon D600 with 24-70 2.8 attached

Nikkor 50mm f 1.4

Nikon SB-700 flash

There is extra space to use

So even though it looks small, it actually fits a lot of stuff and I love it for that, I don't want to carry everything I own, it is just for an outing, so that looks like a winner, specially with the overall size, I'll say it again, it is considerably smaller than the regular flipsides on the outside.

The side pocket can fit one or 2 filters, an extra battery, cleaning pen, and other small stuff. It is similar to the one I had on the Flipside 300

The orang color looks really nice and I actually think it will be good, I mean, you can try to steal it, but an orange backpack tends to give you away.

The straps and the whole "sports" side of it seem to be really nice, it feels light on the shoulders and I hope to go hiking with it soon enough, as these features are the main reason I bought these. I sweat a lot and the regular Flipsides were terrible in this aspect, I always ended up with horrible marks on my shirts.

So, overall I gave it 4 stars, but I'll take it on a 2 week trip by the end of October, after which I'll amend this review accordingly to let you all know how it behaved. For now it looks like a winner!

I really wanted this bag to work, and I admit to overloading it. But hey, 14" CF tripod, 5DII, 70-200/2.8LII. 50/1.2L. .5Liter camel back bladder, 270EXII flash, 4 B+W filter cases I thought it was supposed to fit. I was STUFFING the bladder in, with NO water. So to be realistic, while it all kinda sorta fit, there was no margin at at all (memory cards?, rocket blower? remote trigger?). I know it's an amateur mistake to buy the camera bag that's too small, but I did it again I trusted the specs and the pretty photos that seemed to indicate there's plenty of room. I returned it and I'm waiting for the 15L to arrive today. The 10L is perfect for less gear, like a kit Rebel system from Costco, or a mirror-less system, etc. I do think they over-sold the idea of it holding 1L of water. They should have made the water compartment twice as big

Let me start off by saying this is the lightest, easiest camera bag I've ever owned. It holds my Manfrotto 190 tripod with no problem, my Canon t3i EOS Rebel, Canon 70-200mm f/4, Canon 18-55mm, and Canon 60mm macro f/2.8 with no problem. I can even carry a few accessories like lens hoods for all 3 of them. Waterproof for those springtime or summertime showers and thunderstorms when out on the trail. Easy to access on spur of the moment to capture anything. All in all a well rounded bag. A little pricey but well worth it in my opinion.

That trendy strap attaches to a TINY fabric loop on the end of the case. I would not trust it not to pull loose rather quickly, so I will attach the strap to one of the zipper pulls. This case would have been more functional if a belt loop had been included on one side. That way, the case could stay anchored safely to one's person, and the strap could be attached to the camera. Caselogic, you didn't really think this one through...

BUT if you don't care about that, I suppose it does look nice...

It's going to get dirty most likely anyway, so in my opinion, gray is probably the best choice for those who use their camera frequently. What matters most though, is that it protects my point-and-shoot camera, a Canon Powershot, which I love toting around.

My camera fits quite snugly inside this case, essentially like it was made to go there! I like that the zipper goes nearly all the way around the case, so it opens like an alligator's jaws, allowing me to easily insert and remove the camera. I also like that the case is fairly soft both inside and out, and I can shove it in a jacket pocket comfortably. The attached strap I almost never use, but it could come in handy at some point. Overall a great structural design.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Straight off the bat, this is a very small pouch, for a very small camera. The Nikon Coolpix or the Panasonic Lumix will fit in this. The Nikon with some difficulty. That is how small the case is. So forget about tucking in an extra pair of AA batteries, or even an SD memory card in this pouch. Having said that, this case can fit in your pocket, and that's also what makes it convenient.

So, the positives are:

. Stylish design. I suspect this will appeal more to the ladies than to the men. Or maybe not.

. Reassuringly adequate padding inside. If you accidentally drop the case with the camera inside, chances are the camera will not suffer damage. Of course, making a habit of dropping the case would not be smart.

. If you close the zip, the outer covering covers the zip nicely, so that the seams are actually not very visible gives the camera a high-quality finish.

Dislikes? Not really dislikes, given that this is really a mini-pouch and not a carrying case per se. So you get what you buy. However, a few things do come to mind:

. The wrist grip is printed, and feels a bit clammy to the touch. The reason for it being printed is so that it matches the the sides of the exterior, but I have preferred the more traditional wrist straps.

. This is a small case, as I have noted above. This means you will not be able to carry any extra memory card or batteries inside the pouch. Therefore, you would want to have a 4GB/8GB or larger capacity memory card in the camera to begin with.

Tamrac is one of my favorite bag makers, and they build all of their gear to the highest quality standards. I bought this pack because I do nature photography, and my style involves constant hiking. This looked like the ideal piece of equipment. After owning it for a year, I have discovered that despite the extraordinary quality of the bag, this is not my favorite and indeed I hardly use it anymore. The reason for this is simple logistics. It turns out that in terms of carrying a camera, backpacks are just about the most difficult apparatus to use efficiently. In order to access your SLR, you must essentially remove the pack and place it on the ground. This is then followed by accessing your camera, which generally has to be set down in order for you to re-shoulder the bag. Quite an unpleasant, time consuming and burdensome process especially when the ground is covered in snow or mud. The bag I reach for most often is the LowePro Off Road, which is a combination hip pack/shoulder bag. Tamrac, however, also makes several of these. With the hip option, you can easily access all of your gear while walking, not even needing to stop, and all of it is upright and will not fall out. You are not forced to set anything down on dirty surfaces. For longer pack trips, such a bag is also very easily placed inside a standard backpack, which is again difficult w/ the larger model. For anyone that is not simply traveling from one site to the next (and may photograph en route) I highly recommend you look at the hip pack/shoulder bag combo models. You'll find yourself reaching for them every time you go out.

Having used and enjoyed the Tamrac 5749 Velocity 9 Pro Photo sling pack for about a year, I suddenly found myself with more equipment than the pack was meant for. This wasn't obvious to me at first, but became painfully obvious on a trip to Budapest. I knew I needed a bigger bag to overcome the problems I was facing.

For Christmas 2005 I received the Expedition 5. The Tamrac model 5575 Expedition 5 mid-size photo backpack is well designed, sturdy, and built for organization. On the top, the Bag has a handle, modular accessory attachment slots along the sides. Externally the bag measures 12 3/4 W x 10 D x 16 H or 32 x 25 x 41 cm and weighs 4 lbs. 5 oz. or 1950 grams. The internal main compartment measures 11 W x 5 D x 13 1/2 H or 28 x 13 x 34 cm. This is significantly larger than the Velocity 9 pro photo sling pack and more than twice as heavy.

The interior main compartment is separated into compartments with foam padded dividers attached to the bag using Velcro designed to hold an SLR camera, 5-7 lenses and a flash. What you actually will get in the bag depends on what equipment you have. I pack my Canon 70-200mm or 100-400mm lens down the center, a 16-35mm and 24-105mm lenses on one side, a camera at the top, a flash and a few odds and ends on the other side. I still have room for a second camera. Behind the interior flap, two windowpane mesh zippered pockets hold more stuff.

On the external side of the flap, there is a large pocket with a water resistant zipper, two accessory pockets with water resistant zippers and a memory & battery management system, plus a tripod attachment system. Each wing pocket contains two windowpane mesh pockets for memory cards with a red flags on the inside flap. I use one card per pocket although two cards can easily fit in each. The red flap stays tucked into the pocket for empty cards and the flap is pulled out to indicate the card is full. A single pocket large enough to hold two BP-511A batteries takes up most of the rest of the space with no flags. The Tripod attachment system uses the space between the wing pockets for balance. The tripod rests in a plastic reinforced pocket with a drain hole and is secured in place by three straps with quick clip closures.

The harness is like those found on hiking backpacks with two shoulder straps connected by an adjustable sternum strap and a waist belt. Included on the straps are strap accessory system attachment points and D rings for use with the Tamrac N-11 camera straps. The back uses dual-density comfort pads for comfort while maintaining adequate airflow to keep you cool and dry. When I want to take all four of my lenses with me, I just attach one of the lens cases on the side and I am good to go.

Having owned this bag for a year now, I have not been on a trip to compare my experience with that of Budapest. My equipment fits in this bag and I have a little room left to add a few things. I can see where one day I may need a larger bag or my very own sherpa, but for now this one does the job.

Unlike the sling pack, I have to take this bag off and find a place to set it down to do any task I need to complete at the moment. Getting a fresh CF card is a chore without using a memory and battery management wallet strap accessory. On mass transit, forget trying to wear this beast of a bag. While it is really not that big, it is deep enough that you will not be able to sit comfortably on the bus or rail car while wearing it.

PROS:

Excellent quality throughout! Very solidly built, heavy material and reinforced stitching. All of the zippers are a special self-sealing, waterproof type except for the main zipper, which is protected by an extra weatherproof flap. Plenty of room and partitions to securely hold all of my gear.

However, I'm going to agree with the other reviewer and question the actual utility of this pack (or any pack of this type and size for that matter). You definitely wouldn't want to take this on any type of strenuous hike. When I get this sucker fully loaded I can see it easily topping out at 50 or 60 lbs and that's without any other incidental gear like extra clothes, food, water, etc. I too will likely get some type of smaller, waist bag to use as my daypack. This one will be pretty much for storage and protection. Besides, you really don't need to be lugging all of your extra gear (battery chargers, cables, manuals, etc) up and down a mountainside anyway (unless you have issues)! Just the camera and an extra lens or two is enough to be mobile.

I still do like the backpack style camera bags though. They are convenient to carry, even if moderately heavy, and you're not advertising that you're loaded with $7k+ worth of premium photo gear!

The zippers are STRONG and I see no threat of it opening on it's own. There's a ton of compartments for gear, accessories, and more. I wore this pack for 4 hours straight and almost forgot it was on my back toward the end of that timeframe. It is very comfortable and feels great! I even strapped my Manfrotto tripod to it and still felt great.

By far the Best camera bag I own, and I have about 5. Got this bag just in time for a 2 week photo trip to Alaska. Easily holds, protects, and organizes all my gear, plus room for the weather clothing that is nessesary in Alaska. I love the fact that tamrac bags are very weather proof with out needing and optional rain cover, it makes getting to your equipment much faster. The tripod straps work great, kept everything so balanced I forgot I was carrying a 'pod. The shoulder straps on this bag are very comfortable as well. I definaely recommend this bag to anyone looking for a camera backpack.

A really good camera bag. I've had one for six years. But the one thing that weakens an otherwise good product is that the belt flap is only fastened by a small velcro strip which wears out with time. Once the velcro is worn the bag has a tendancy to fall off your belt. This why I replaced my old bag with a new one. Newer models also have a snap to reinforce the velcro.

This was my first Pelican case, and it performed just as I expected it to. I use this case with the padded dividers and the lid organizer for my photography/video/electronic equipment. I used it recently on a week long trip to Kenya, and brought it as my carry-on (the max carry-on size was a big factor in my choosing this case). The case did its job and protected all of my gear, mainly from the dust. I can't comment on the waterproof capability, but I'd feel confident if it was left out during a rainstorm, I wouldn't need to worry. The case is a bit heavy, but that's the price you pay for this kind of protection. The two lock holes can accommodate your typical padlock, but you can also fit a small TSA-approved combo lock, but not by much. My only complaint is when using it as a rolling case. The pull-out handle may as first feel flimsy, but its strong and I had no problems. My gripe is that the wheels are fairly small and when making an abrupt turn, the high center of mass makes the case want to flip over on its side. However, the wheels need to be small because the housings are recessed into the case to maintain the max allowable dimensions.

Like I said, this was my first Pelican case, but it will certainly not be my last.

Within the limits of the current "carry-on" requirements this case holds a tremendous amount of equipment securely. Combined with the accessory lid organizer it is a perfect utility travel case for photography or any other equipment. Pelican continues to be the best in this particular size bracket, and along with Storm cases for equipment in general.

The case itself was light to carry empty, but once I put in my camera, flash and 4 lenses, this case became really heave to carry. The padding on the bottom of the case isn't thick enough to absorb the street or side walk bumps that using the wheels would create. I still use this case, but park it in a corner and go back and forth to it when I need to change lenses or filters.

I bought this case to safely transport my custom desktop in a Silverston SUGO SG-05BB-450W case. Unfortunately the curvature inside the case eats into the usable vertical limit.

The computer case is 11 by 8.5 inches and I hoped to carry the PC with the long side in the 11 inch portion of the case. I have to turn the computer case sideways but that worked out fine because my other components fit without issue and I have room for a full length keyboard in this configuration.

It is on the heavy side because it is sturdy, I weigh 200 lbs and can stand on it without crushing the contents.

When wheeling it, I did slide the case a little on the feet and concrete wore away a small amount of the material. This could be a long term concern. I think this would be an excellent spot for metal feet.

Purchased two Pelican 1510 (1514) with padded dividers for storing and transporting camera equipment. Setting up the case to fit six Canon L series lens and two camera bodies was not a problem. Had extra room to fit a flash unit. The lid storage compartment was used to place battery's, cables and flash storage cards. Everything fit like a glove. All this fit into the first box. Now I have the second box available to carry extra equipment or clothes when I go on a photo shoot. These Pelican boxes are awesome, you can beat the heck out of them and nothing happens! You can even stand on them ( I am a hefty guy, almost 300 lbs). Best of all they fit in the overhead compartment so you never have to worry about where your equipment is. Pelican box is probably the best transport/storage for any camera equipment period!
