I was a little hesitant about purchasing a "universal" camera case for my fiance, but it's pink (and girls love pink), so I thought I'd give it a whirl. I'm happy to report that it's a great little case for P/S cameras. I dabble in amateur photography myself, so if I didn't feel comfortable with it, I would have sent it back. So...

Pros:

-It's durable. Very.

-Great finish on the outside

-Nice and soft finish on the inside

-No worries about scratches here

-It's pink (did I mention that yet?)

Cons:

-It's universal (not a perfect fit)

-It doesn't change my Jeep's oil

Ok, so the last con is a stretch, but really it's hard to find a con here. The universality (is that a word?) really isn't a con, it's what you should expect. There is elastic on the sides, which holds the camera snug, however the case is wider than the camera, and allows for some movement (I can't knock that, I knowingly bought a universal case).

For the price, you can't go wrong; especially if you have a girl in your life who just MUST have a pink camera case.

I liked this case since I ordered it. I was actually a little scared that it may not fit my Nikon Coolpix s630. It fit perfectly! The only thing that I didn't like is that it fits so perfect that there is no way to use the inside pockets that it has for a memory card or battery. But since I don't really carry those items separate any way, its not a big deal for me. I like the case and it worked for my make and model camera!

After seeing some input from people using this case with an RX100, I bought it too. It's a touch clunky and you're either going to have to use the large sling that comes with it or take it off. But all in all, it's working out for me. The camera fits snugly in the case and it's got pocket room in the front to carry a USB card reader.

Just returned from 2 weeks in the Tetons and Yellowstone with the new Bataflae 32L and it came through like a champ. First, the pack made it though carryon baggage without a hitch. Fit very well in the overhead, even on the short side of the plane where the bins are a bit smaller. I carried essentially all of my lenses including a Canon 500mm f4, a Canon 70-200 f2.8 (both of which are relatively large and heavy) as well as 2 wide angle zoom lenses and a macro lens. Through in 2 camera bodies, filters, 2 extender tubes, a flash, batteries and chargers, and various small tools and remotes. It all fit! Construction is sturdy with no signs of seam or strap failure after 2 weeks of heavy use. The hip belt (and the shoulder straps) are well padded and very adjustable to allow the weight to be on your hips rather than the shoulders. The butterfly opening mechanism is extremely convenient as are the small pockets on either side of the butterfly wings. As with most bags, I wish it would come with a better mechanism for carrying my larger tripod. Carrying the tripod on the side as was suggested is just not optimal. But with a little rigging, the tripod fit well on the center of the back while still allowing reasonable access to the case. Internally, the pack comes with about a zillion extra dividers. Arranging the dividers is simple and the Velcro head extremely well, even with the weight of the 500 mmm. The padding is adequate though other bags are thicker. At the end of the day, the pack did everything I needed and was comfortable with a heavy load. The pack is pricey, but in my view well worth the money. Would recommend it to anyone with a lot of gear who travels and hikes with the gear.

I've had the smaller version of this case before and LOVED it! Both cases are made of quality material but this is shapped differently than the smaller version and for my camera ( NIkon D5100) it just doesn't work. It's too big and you can't tighten the straps to make it fit. So I will be ordering another of the smaller ones. If you have a larger camera, though, this would work great!

I liked the quality and the concept except the two locking arms are too short and made the bag bunch up. I used the extension strap to make it fit not so tight. It will do what I want and the price is right.

The camera bag I got with the "kit" had a large open area, great for camera and lenses to bang against each other. I did a little research and found this bag for a "compact SLR" and it was exactly the right solution for my entire outfit (NEX-5N, 16mm with 12mm wide angle adapter, 18-200 zoom, electronic viewfinder, extra battery). It comes with various color bands (I choose black, but now wish I had selected a red or something... sigh). Handy carry handle and strap (strap folds inside if you want to carry by the handle.

And, each item is in its own padded compartment. Just what the doctor ordered!

Rally 2 is an excellent small shoulder bag with a generous external front zipper compartment and a wide strap. Has heavy duty construction with equally heavy duty nylon fabric. Bought this bag to have something spacious and nice looking for my Panasonic GF3. I can fit everything I need in here to include the camera with lens attached, extra zoom lens, 2 filters with cases, lens hood, lens cleaning kit, various cables, extra memory cards, and I still have a fair amount of room to spare. Shoulder strap is nice with non slip coating so it stays put. Bag looks great without screaming "I have expensive gear in this bag", would pass as a regular man-bag, not that I carry one normally. Quality is great, feels durable and well-made, should last as long as you need it to.

I purchased this pack primarily for mountain biking use, with some hiking and trail running occasionally as well. I like the size and ideas behind the pack, but it is definitely not perfect.

My main problem is the size of the actual camera compartment. I use a Nikon D300, and my most-used lenses are a Sigma 10-20 and Nikon 70-300 VR. The fit is very tight for any of these combinations, especially if the hoods are mounted, and almost unusable if I want to take both lenses with me. This body and these lenses are by no means huge, but they are larger than something like a D5100 with the kit 18-55 and 55-200. I think these more compact options would fit great.

I have yet to find a hydration bladder that fits well in the designated area. I also dislike the fact that the water goes on one side of the pack, it tends to make it feel unbalanced. It also shares its space with the one mesh key/accessory pouch, which makes it difficult to access.

Accessing the camera while on the trail is very easy. This is the feature that I most like about this pack. Simply unclip the sternum strap, leave the waist belt on and spin it around in front of you. The only downside is the tight fit of the camera, it tends to get caught up at times.

The removable padded camera compartment seems like an unneeded feature that is bulky and takes up a lot of space. I would rather gain some extra room or a smaller pack by getting rid of it and simply having a pack build as a dedicated camera carrier. I have other hydration packs for when I don't carry a camera, and I have other ways of carrying the camera if I'm not using this pack, so I would rather see a more specialized design that is more compact and efficient.

The pack is built well and with high quality materials, and is fairly comfortable to wear. The only problem I have seen so far is a small kink in the hydration pocket zipper, which happened when I was trying to pack a ton of stuff into the entire pack. I am currently still using the pack on short rides, but I may soon go back to my previous rig, which was a Think Tank Holster rigged as chest pack, which I attached to whatever backpack I was using for the day.

Since no one is writing about these babies, I will try to help others, even though I only had it for a day.

The cons first:

It has straps and cords all over it, I'm hoping they won't be a bother in the regular day to day use. Lowepro only included elastic bands to secure them on the 2 shoulder straps. For 100+ bucks they could have added a couple more...

The zippers are a possible irritation and, I must say, perhaps it is the fault of us, customers! I remember everybody complained that on the Flipsides the zipper did not come down 100% on the bottom and Lowepro listened to the customers, they fixed that. Now, the problem is that by doing this, the zippers get way more complicated to close, you WILL need both hands, which was not the case with the regular Flipsides. It is a minus point!!!

Now, the Pros:

It is smaller, waay lighter and less bulky than the Flipside 200 or 300 (although the right comparison for the 300 would be the 15L, I guess).

The inside is small, but good enough for, right now:

Nikon D600 with 24-70 2.8 attached

Nikkor 50mm f 1.4

Nikon SB-700 flash

There is extra space to use

So even though it looks small, it actually fits a lot of stuff and I love it for that, I don't want to carry everything I own, it is just for an outing, so that looks like a winner, specially with the overall size, I'll say it again, it is considerably smaller than the regular flipsides on the outside.

The side pocket can fit one or 2 filters, an extra battery, cleaning pen, and other small stuff. It is similar to the one I had on the Flipside 300

The orang color looks really nice and I actually think it will be good, I mean, you can try to steal it, but an orange backpack tends to give you away.

The straps and the whole "sports" side of it seem to be really nice, it feels light on the shoulders and I hope to go hiking with it soon enough, as these features are the main reason I bought these. I sweat a lot and the regular Flipsides were terrible in this aspect, I always ended up with horrible marks on my shirts.

So, overall I gave it 4 stars, but I'll take it on a 2 week trip by the end of October, after which I'll amend this review accordingly to let you all know how it behaved. For now it looks like a winner!

I really wanted this bag to work, and I admit to overloading it. But hey, 14" CF tripod, 5DII, 70-200/2.8LII. 50/1.2L. .5Liter camel back bladder, 270EXII flash, 4 B+W filter cases I thought it was supposed to fit. I was STUFFING the bladder in, with NO water. So to be realistic, while it all kinda sorta fit, there was no margin at at all (memory cards?, rocket blower? remote trigger?). I know it's an amateur mistake to buy the camera bag that's too small, but I did it again I trusted the specs and the pretty photos that seemed to indicate there's plenty of room. I returned it and I'm waiting for the 15L to arrive today. The 10L is perfect for less gear, like a kit Rebel system from Costco, or a mirror-less system, etc. I do think they over-sold the idea of it holding 1L of water. They should have made the water compartment twice as big

Let me start off by saying this is the lightest, easiest camera bag I've ever owned. It holds my Manfrotto 190 tripod with no problem, my Canon t3i EOS Rebel, Canon 70-200mm f/4, Canon 18-55mm, and Canon 60mm macro f/2.8 with no problem. I can even carry a few accessories like lens hoods for all 3 of them. Waterproof for those springtime or summertime showers and thunderstorms when out on the trail. Easy to access on spur of the moment to capture anything. All in all a well rounded bag. A little pricey but well worth it in my opinion.

I've taken this bag with me on a few trips. It barely fits under the seat in front of you on a plane. The bag can get heavy at times like many other bags, and if you wear loose shirts, you may not notice the ventilation built into the pack. The rain protector is a great feature, I've already used it a few times. The access to the camera is nice, but the areas that have velcro seem a bit poorly thought out. I think there should have been a flap over the side pocket to ensure better security of the camera, as well as protect the inside of the bag from the elements; it's not the best sealed area (yah the place where the camera goes). The ergonomics on your back are definitely comfortable initially, and the padding is thick, but the size is a bit protruding and cumbersome in urban settings. All the stitching seems very well done compared to many other name brand bags I've encountered. The exterior bottom has a nice waterproof flat surface making it easy to stand upright as well as sit on wet surfaces without too much concern. There could have been a water bottle attachment. The number of walls to separate your equipment is pretty standard. The zipper seams are very good, you're definitely going to be able to keep dust out on a windy day. And if all else fails you've got that built-in rain cover. It would have been nice if they added a secondary pocket in the other pad opposite of the side the rain cover is located for small personal items or even a slot for memory cards. There's a section for a laptop or other items of equal size and dimension. It's a useful place for your boarding pass or other documents.

I've been looking at several different camera bags and decided upon the Vanguard Up-Rise 46 over the competition because of the integrated tripod holder. I own a Vanguard Alta Pro 264AT and assumed that the Vanguard camera bag with tripod holder would hold my Vanguard tripod. I was wrong. The tripod holder is no more than a pocket that unzips from the side to hold the tips of your tripod's legs. Then you're left to lash the tripod to the side using the same straps that you have to unhook in order to access the main compartment. That's the point when your tripod drops off your bag when you attempt to change a lens.

Overall, I thought the layout of the bag was extremely poor and awkward. Aside from the side-access for your SLR there really is no quick or easy access to anything else with this bag. I kept it for a few hours and just couldn't get my gear situated where I could get reasonable access to it. I've decided to return it and get a Tamrac insteady.

When I received this bag I was very impressed with the quality construction and the material used seemed as so it would last for quite some time. This bag is very comfortable from the Vanguard air flow system to the thick padded straps. It has plenty of compartments for any hike you may plan, enough to fit 3 lenses including a 70-200mm 2.8 with two bodies and a speed light if your good at tetris. Overall I love this bag for what I currently own in my list of gear.

I bought this bag after reading reviews elsewhere on the net.. Got the bag and filled it up with my gear, It was quite comfortable but there is one thing that I absolutely hated which should be fixed on all there bags.

THE RAIN COVER, Its in the most stupid place, Its in a zippered section on the shoulder area of the bag. So when the bag is on your back it feels like there is a hump on the bag and it doesn't sit properly on you back. This is a no no and it made me sell the bag straight away. I would have loved it if this was not the case.. The Skyborne series doesn't have this rain cover in this pocket, Its around the front where it should be. come on Vanguard sort it out. I already have 2 of your up-rise shoulder bags which are the best shoulder bag I have ever used. I will buy an Adapter 46 from you if you put a rain cover in it.. Some people live in countries that have alot of varied weather (Ireland). No rain cover is no good to me.

I got the Portare' PBP2-G bag and I absolutely love it. Most people review bags immediately after opening the box. I am writing this after having used the bag for more than a month including an international trip. The bag is very well thought out, and it holds all my gear along with my laptop AND my new ipad. I have a Canon Rebel, three lenses and a flash. It fits comfortably in the overhead compartment of the aircraft and it was a relief to be able to carry both my laptop and ipad without worrying about scratching either. I was even able to fold a reflector in the laptop pocket, and that greatly enhanced my images. The shoulder straps and back padding live up to their billing. The Portare' bag feels solidly manufactured and the material is very heavy duty and feels tough. I also like the peace of mind of the rain cover. Overall, I am very impressed with this bag and would definitely buy it again if needed.

I purchased the Portare' Ppb2 Nov 2011. It is awesome! It can carry everything I own....lenses, flash, batteries, tripod, computer, personal items....but wow is it heavy when full....but it will hold it all! Decided to use it mostly for storage at home, streamline items when I go out...but if I need it all I was ready to go! I'm a weekend photographer. When I venture out I try to travel light. I take a few lenses, my flash, liked that I could put the camera in the top zippered section for quick access. I'd leave the bag in the car as I wonder off doing my thing, very rarely to I carry this on my back...it's just not what I do but I have my things safely with me if I need them. It worked really well for me. Looks great, can't tell it's camera bag either, just looks like a school backpack.

But....

A few months ago I noticed the material separating in the area from the zipper to the handle. Since this bag doesn't get used as much as a pro would use it, I went a little nuts. Figured it was my fault for not buying a big name brand so I put it away to use as storage only. Lesson learned. Dang!

I tried other bags comparable to Portare's size and organized sections that would hold what I need to hold and HOW I want to hold it. In my opinion, nothing came close. I tried the traditional square camera bag. Sometimes I'd forget to buckle it shut, grab the handle and almost drop everything out on the street! Big top flap with noisy metal buckles, needed a lot of room to open that one! Switched to a backpack that required opening most of the entire front just to get to the camera, lenses on both sides, I always worried they might fall out. Even tried a sling but that also had a big flap that need a space to open when changing lenses. All of those bags exposed everything I owned to the elements and theft. None allowed quick access to the camera either. sigh

I got mad again, decided to write the company. I complained, sent pictures and everything. The rest of the bag is perfect, stitching is strong, bag looked new, the back straps show no distress from the weight it carries or could carry....just this one area went bad. But because it was at the top handle, I didn't feel safe with it. It shouldn't have fallen apart in 8 months with little use. I was very disappointed to say the least.

Portare' was extremely quick to respond to my email. Polite, concerned and thankful for my critique. Long story short, they replaced the bag. How cool is that!?! And it didn't take forever, it was here in a week!! YAY!

I am so excited to have this bag back!

Here's how I organize the Portare'. I keep my camera (with grip btw) in the top section, that way I just unzipper it, grab go! Lenses and flash in the bottom zippered section, well padded and safe with easy access. Lens cloth in the side velcro pocket which holds my car keys or lens cover. Business cards, pens, comb, lip balm, eye glasses, shutter release and more all in the zippered side pockets. Side mesh pocket is meant for a tripod. I don't carry a tripod on the bag so I put a bottle of water there. The computer section hold my iPad when I carry it. I usually put my wallet, extra batteries, white balance card, shutter release, all in the computer section....and it holds magazines neatly when I fly. OH, it will hold a gorillapod in there too (or in the mesh pocket)! Possibilities are endless.

All it's missing is wheels! hint hint!

I really love this bag and I hope Portare' looks into why my bag frayed in this area and reinforces it. But they stood up, replaced the bag and have communicated with every email I have written them since. I will stand behind this company...that why I titled this review...."Can't beat it.....seriously!".

I just got back from Carnaval in Brazil, I took the Portare' bag with me (despite advice to the contrary) and it was the PERFECT companion. It was the perfect decoy and all my gear came back safely with me. Not only that, but the padding kept my stuff safe, and unscratched in the parades there. I was able to carry a change of clothes, shoes, essentials, water, AND all my camera gear with a kit and a wide angle lens. I used it all day, and can vouch for the back comfort. It also kept my back dry in the heat in Rio. It's also awesome that I was able to get it in a color other than black. I couldn't ask for more in a bag.

Over the past 10 years, I have owned about 6 backpacks. I've always struggled to find the perfect backpack, one that will both organize and store my things. I can say that my Portare is the first one that has met all of my needs.

Quality: The quality of this bag is really top notch. I'm not sure what it's made out of but it looks like kevlar or something and it's really strong stuff. The zippers, pockets and inner materials are all high quality as well and I have no doubt that this bag will last for years to come.

The problem with other bags is the layout. I hated having to have my power cords stored in the same compartment as my camera stuff. This bag has the perfect layout. One area for iPads and Laptops, one area for camera stuff, two side pocket areas for accessories and one top area for other stuff. I keep my instant meals in the top compartment and it works great.

I've finally found the perfect bag for my digital life!

I ordered this bag and am so happy with it. I don't have an SLR but a laptop, lots of electronics and miscellaneous items. Padded all over, and the soft dividers are movable to you can configure the inside to your needs. I can finally organize all my stuff and find them without rummaging through everything. Great weekend or carryon bag, roomy enough for change of clothes and toiletries. I have a similar sized backpack that I took to China and I wish I had this one. The separate laptop compartment would have made going through security much easier. Customer service is awesome too! I had a question regarding the different bags and they were so friendly and helpful. I was confident with my purchase even before they sent it out.

I've used the Sagg shields for several products so when I purchased my DSLR camera I made sure to purchase this product to prevent getting scratches on the screen. Like most Sagg product this was relatively easy to install as it came with a little wet sponge and a plastic card used to push out any little air bubbled left when placing the shield in place. You won't get all the little bubbled out when you install the product but after letting the camera rest for a day they seem to have disappeared. So far I only have 2 things I don't like about this shield;

1. The plastic shield has horizontal lines that are visible when looking at the camera screen. I'm not sure if this is just a poorly manufactured screen or if they are all like this but the lines are noticeable if you look for them (and once you see them they are somewhat annoying).

2. The plastic shield appears to attract dirt from your fingers quite easily. It's got a little bit of a tacky feel to it so simply wiping it with a dry cloth may not clear all the dirt off so you may need to use a wet cloth to wipe it fully clean.

I travel every week and could not imagine packing without this little bag. I have some of the smaller ones as well for my iPhone charges and GPS. They have held up great over the years through lots of plane travel.

Just received my order and was sorely disappointed: my first reaction was that it was made of really cheap materials. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some kind of stiff cardboard underneath the rubber-like fabric and zippers that make up the design. Since the item WAS inexpensive, I wasn't too upset about this. However, the zippers on my case were so ill-made and poorly designed that they made the case virtually unusable. Basically, the zippers zip open fine, but when closing, the zipper catches on the zipper lining. For this reason, it takes a lot of strength (and determination) to close the case, and when I get it closed, I notice that it's ripped up a lot of the fabric near the zipper. While I can struggle with the zipper now, I wouldn't be surprised if the zipper broke after a short time of use. [I've since noticed that the zipper moves smoother now that the lining is a torn, thereby removing whatever it was catching on.]

When I contacted the vendor Bargaincell for a refund due to defective product (I assume my case is defective since others have left positive reviews), they responded quickly once, but took a few days to actually give me an RMA # (which you need in order to get a refund).

I would just warn anyone considering purchasing this item that while you might get a perfectly working product, you might also get a defective unusable one. Just keep this in mind when making your decision. I walked into a Radioshack today and was surprised to find better designed camera cases for less than $10 (although they did not have hard shells like this one), so I really regret purchasing this one since it's turned out to be a lot more trouble than it's worth.

As a side note, I'm also including the measurements of the case's CAMERA COMPARTMENT (not the overall size), since there's been a lot of talk about camera fit:

H 4.5" x W 2.75" x D 1.125"

(My Canon Powershot SD800 IS -measuring at H 3.5" x W 2.25" x D 1" -fits fairly well in it with a little spare room.)

I purchased this case for my Powershot SD950 IS. It is just what I was looking for. It protects the camera and provides a little extra space for a spare battery and sd chips. I don't get the reviews that object to the size of the case, it is slightly larger than the camera, but to provide protection doesn't it need to be? Update, I liked it so much I purchased another one (different color) for my Kodak ZX1 video camera, Room for the camera, extra sd chips and a couple of AA batteries. Of course the price can't be beat.

I bought this for my PowerShot SD780 IS to provide protection for the camera while in my pocket. Although the case does seem to provide decent protection for the camera, this case is much to large to put in any pocket. This my not be a problem for some other models of cameras, but I bought this model because it is pocketable.

Really I can't beleive all these reviews are complaining about the case Seriously get over it I have a hot pink cannon powershot sd1400si the case is bigger than the camera yeah but I use my camera like crazy every day multiple times a day taking pictures and showing pictures so it's small enough to fit into my little purse and my even smaller party purse not to mention I'm always prepared with an extra battery and memory card which the case holds both plus it even holds my extra Android Phone battery. Sooo whats to big for you is completly awesome and perfect for me that's why I give it a five star and say you just try to find another zebra camera case as cute and this one for the price that gets as many compliments as this one :P
