As with the other poster, I'm sure this is a perfectly acceptable pack if you have a camera that fits into it.

The dimensions of the pack would seem to indicate that it is 3.5" deep, with a flat bottom and a consistent depth through the entire height of the pack. In the main image of the pack that you see on this page (the image all the way to the left in the series), the pack appears to be resting on a flat bottom.

In reality, the bottom of the pack simply comes to a 1/2" wide point at the bottom where the flat back (meant to rest on your chest or back) meets the front side, which is much wider at the top than the bottom. Because of this, you can't simply slide an SLR or rangefinder camera with the lens attached, or even a point-and-shoot with a large zoom, into the pack with the back of the camera against the back of the pack. The zipper will not zip around the camera and lens.

Instead you have to put the camera with the lens pointing either up or down, and ease the zipper around the lens. It's quite awkward to use; if extreme care isn't taken when opening the pack, a heavy camera could easily fall out and be damaged. It was OK protecting my camera inside a larger tote bag, but I wouldn't want to carry the camera in this pack alone.

Having said that, the pack does seem well-constructed and padded. With the right size camera, this would undoubtedly be a winner. But I've got to keep looking for a new home for my M8 with a 28mm lens.

it's probably a good pack, but amazon is totally misleading selling it in a package deal with the canon sx20is. i own this camera, so when i saw them selling this package deal i assumed the pack would be the correct size for my camera. not so by a long shot. i have no idea why amazon would be selling this camera pack with this camera. it is way too small for the sx20is.

I have owned this case for approximately 3 years. It has been on numerous trips in the back of a Jeep on desert roads in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and especially Utah. It has been in the rain, snow, and sand and has never leaked or failed in any way. I try to take care of my gear but there are times when it receives rough treatment. Like all Pelican Products this case performs just as the company claims it will. It is a bit pricey I suppose but I have in the past bought and replaced cheaper knock-offs and don't plan to replace this one. I used two of these on my bike for rear panniers and they are great. Lockable, easily mountable, and highly visible for mobile use. I think these are great. They are a bit expensive. They are more secure than most panniers and they can be mounted to almost any rear rack with a few u-bolts available at any home depot. They are theft deterrent and I can mount a rear led light to it with velcro making it very easy to see. Easily drillable too.

This case seems very sturdy, with good latches. I ordered a second case of this type because of the quality. This will hold files such as tax forms. It is waterproof. The lips/flanges of this case seem much more durable than those on Pelican's "Storm" case series, which have a nicer latch mechanism. Overall I rate the Pelican 1430 case a 4.7 (out of 5.0).

I purchased this directly through Manfrotto USA website only because there wasn't any reviews or Amazon stock at the time. Its a perfect fit for the Sony NEX camera and probably any 4/3 Sensor or other CSC (compact system camera Nikon 1, Canon M, etc.)

Fits the NEX-5R with the 18-55mm lense easily and holds my Google Nexus 10 (in the case) and plenty of compartment space for additional lenses. The empty space not taken up by the camera is about 4.5" x 4" x 5.5". It would have been nice to have some additional velcro available for not slots, but I'm on the hunt for a more optimum way to utilize this space so my extra lenses and filters are rolling around free.

Its a comfortable size bag if you plan on keeping just one or two additional lenses and a few extra components, tablet, or maybe a camera, wallet, phone, tablet...you get the idea. Its not a overly huge bag as the Unica III or Unica V are, and if you have (or need) more space to hold components, I really suggest you go up to the III or V [depending on what computer you might want to carry with you.

A bonus is the pack is quite secure, allows easy access to the camera/tablet/accessories through the zipper top, and being waterproof (thought haven't tested this feature yet) gives a little piece of mind. Its a good quality built product and I hope to have a long life with it...until I upgrade to the III or V later.

Just got it and for $22 was expecting WAY more.... This would be good if it was the $5 ebay deal (I have a stack of those cheapies for lenses and they are better quality then this one :-( ). Needed for a trip and ebay delivery was too slow but if your not in a hurry find a cheap version there instead of this.

Bag is very thin (thinner then you think from the description) and fit is very average very poorly conformed to shape of camera body. It's small but stretches. The velcro does not go full width, so I expect it will get pulled open if rubbed the wrong way. Going to be generous on the 2-star rating.

Bought this for my Canon 7D for a trip. I always carry my camera on in a sling type camera bag, but didn't want to have all of the foam interiors of bulk of the camera + lens.

So i bought this along with a set of neoprene lens pouches and separated the body and the 2 lenses.

It was great! I felt the camera and lenses were protected without all the excess bulk. Will definitely travel this way from now on!

I wanted something to protect my Canon Mark IV when it was packed without a lens. This bag was designed for just that. It works well with one exception and that is not a fault of the design. It will not fit over the camera body with a Really Right Stuff L bracket attached. I must take the bracket off firsta bit of a hassle. It would be nice if the neoprene was a little more stretchable, or they offered a model that would accommodate the bracket.

When you ship or travel with your cameras you shouldn't leave the lens attached. The lens sticks out like a lever and can cause damage to the lens mount or camera flange if it runs into careless handling or accidental dropping. I carry my camera's in a Pelican case with dividers. I have been using a Velcro soft wrap, but it is bulky and takes up a lot of space in my case. This neoprene sleeve offers good protection for cameras that are in a case. Leaving the cameras unprotected is a disaster waiting to happen. Any number of small parts could work their way into the cases camera compartment and scratch up your camera or worse your display screen.

Think of the investment as a $20 insurance policy.

This bag is for the camera body without an optional grip. It says it fits to Canon 5D, but it's really tight to fit my 5D Mark III. Fortunately, the fabric is a bit elastic. I hope it becomes loose as time goes.

This leather bag is small enough to take anywhere yet is remarkably capacious. I initially bought it to carry my Kindle and was surprised to find my K2 fits into the bag in either a horizontal or vertical orientation, leaving lots of room to spare for other electronics (or even for a full size book). I also appreciate the multitude of pockets in which to store pens, cell phone, Kindle accessories.

The leather is very good quality, and I am sure it will age nicely. The zippers work well, the stitching is perfect, and the shoulder strap has a wide section which distributes the weight nicely on your shoulder. The wide section is arc-shaped, and the strap ends can be swapped for carrying on either shoulder. The strap attaches to the bag with swivels, which is a very nice feature.

Prior to buying it, I read a review which stated that the strap was not long enough to wear it cross-body, so I sent an email to Piel, asking about the length of the strap. I received a detailed response the same day, stating that the strap is 50 inches long. I am 5' 10" tall, and the strap is plenty long for me, without alot of excess length. I typically wear it with the strap on my left shoulder and the bag just behind my right hip.

I just returned from a cruise, and the bag easily held my wallet, car keys, passport, noise-cancelling headset, camera, Kindle, various eye glasses in their cases, small binoculars, some prescription meds, and a few other small items.

I am very happy with this bag, and would recommend it to anyone looking for quality product which is compact yet functional.

This is actually my second purchase of the same camera bag; I loved the first one so much I had to buy one for my husband. This bag carried my Sony SLT-A55V through long trips in New Zealand, Nepal, Africa, China, Dubai, and countless trips here at home in the US. During all of my foreign travels I essentially carry it everywhere, and its function has been everything I could want, especially on long day trips or hiking. All of the pockets contain additional "inset pockets" of varying sizes, which makes them very versatile. The two side pockets and their additional "inset" pockets are PERFECT for carrying a small sunblock, insect repellant, lip balm, a tissue packet, and other small miscellaneous objects useful when traveling, such as a small room key or hotel business card. The larger pocket on the front is the right size to hold something oversized, such as a room key attached to a large wooden block. Personally, however, I like to use the front pocket to hold my camera battery charger, 3 spare camera batteries (in the inset "net" pocket) and 2 extra SDHC Cards (in the two small interior pockets seemingly designed for this purpose; the pockets are perfectly sized for a good "tight" fit for SDHC cards). Thus, I avoid opening the front pocket unless I'm changing batteries or SDHC cards. Instead, I find that the main interior of the bag is just roomy enough for such a purpose, and also safe; the pocket is deep enough that a large key is under no danger of falling out, even when I take out my camera. Using the Sony A55 camera with the moderately sized Sony 18-250 mm lens, I also have enough room in the main pocket to store a small water or juice can for a long day of hiking or exploring a remote town. This is VERY handy on long uphill hiking treks; in Nepal for example I was able to access juice cans easily from my camera bag, and replace them in villages along the way, all without ever removing my backpack. This extra space is also handy to store a small purchase, such as aspirin or a small carved object, without having to carry it around in a separate bag.

Clearly, versatile features are one reason I find this bag essential for travel--but, back to its use for my actual camera. With the padding inside the bag, I always feel that my camera is extremely well protected, even when the bag gets bumped around a little. There is also a velcro-closed inside pocket in the main compartment of the bag, which I use to hold polarizing /filtering lenses. This would also be a fine location to store camera batteries. The bag is extremely durable and comfortable, even when worn almost continuously in various travel conditions. The dimensions of the bag are just right; structured well and large enough to feel stable when I set it on any surface, yet small and light enough to feel so natural when worn. The only feature I find less than desirable is the attached lens cleaning cloth. The cloth is literally sewn in one side at the top of the interior pocket, which makes it difficult to maneuver sometimes to clean the lens, and also limits the methods of cloth cleaning. I could cut the cloth off, but then it could be more easily lost. Personally I'd prefer if the cloth was affixed with something like a few small snaps, to be detachable. Still, this is a very minor flaw. Overall, this is a highly functional and versatile camera bag that I consider as important for traveling as any suitcase or backpack.

Cheap Tamrac 3536 Express 6 Camera Bag -Black

I had a critical criterion when shopping for a bag for my new SLR: it must not look like I am carrying a camera as much as possible. This way, I can carry the bag more often without being conspicuous. And this bag definitely delivers.

First off, the style and colour is really quite a departure from most camera bags. Without knowing this bag, it could easily pass off as an ordinary messenger bag. If orange isn't your thing, this also comes in all black.

Also important is that this bag isn't as thick sideways as bags of comparable size, so it doesn't stick out as much. Perhaps this is at the expense of some protection or additional storage, but I think it was an extremely good decision because it makes it look a LOT less bulky, and makes carrying it much more comfortable.

The strap is an over the head shoulder strap. Many camera bags of this size only come with shorter shoulder straps. This one makes it a lot easier to carry, and not only that, more natural as well.

Compared to other Tamrac bag with the same size, this one is missing the main bag zipper. I personally find it a plus, since it makes the bag smaller, and also the camera more accessible.

In term of storage space, this one fit my K100D with kit lens well (in fact, a little too well. If your camera is thicker, it may protrude off the top a bit.) Two slight problems present themselves. First, the camera strap takes creativity to get fit inside the bag. It's easier not to. The other problem area is that the presence of the lens cap made the bag a tighter fit. (Without the bayonet lens cap, it's a lot easier.) I don't have extra lenses, but I don't think it'll fit one on each side. In fact, the guide indicates just that; you can only fit lenses on one side; the other side can only fit something smaller, like flash.

!!! UPDATE !!!

I have since purchased a couple of primes; three in total. I have in fact been able to add all three of them to the bag; two on one side, another one on the camera grip side: all facing up. The bag bulges a little, but the fact is that it is able to fit lenses on both sides.

The flap itself is a zipped storage, but has no real thickness. It has a back pocket area, but again no real thickness. Under the flap us is a decent misc. pocket area.

The one thing about Tamrac is I don't like the flap lock. It's unconventional, and in my opinion difficult to use.

At any rate, for a bag that is competitively priced with others that are the same size, and much better looking, this one deserves 5 stars for a job well done. The only comparable bag that I have seen at the store is from National Geographic that costs almost 5 times as much.

I would give this bag 5 starts if it weren't for the fact that the description says it's perfect for a DSLR, and it's really a bit small for even a small DSLR. Since Amazon doesn't list the dimensions for this bag, here they are, direct from :

Internal Dimensions: 7¾ W x 3¾ D x 8 H or 20 x 10 x 20 cm

External Dimensions: 10 W x 6 D x 9 H or 25 x 15 x 23 cm

I have an Olympus E-510, and the fit in this bag is a little tighter than I would like. At 3 and 3/4" inches deep (front to back) the bag really isn't large enough to hold a DSLR without the flash shoe snagging on the front of the bag and making it bulge out a bit.

Also, the way the camera rests in the bag, there is no room for a shoulder strap without using up one of the side (internal) lens pockets, or wadding the strap up and putting it in before the camera (under the lens attached to the camera body), which doesn't work with a large lens on the cam. The strap can be folded and put on top of the camera after inserting it in the bag, but this risks scratching the LCD, and makes the bag difficult to close.

I think the bag is worth every penny, but it is better suited for a smaller camera.

**Update: After purchasing the highly reviewed 50mm f/2.0 macro lens for this camera, I am afraid I'll have to sell my bag and find something larger. With any of the 3 lenses (50mm or kit lens) attached, the fit in the bag with the other two lenses stored in the internal pockets is too tight.

This bag is simply not suited for a DSLR camera...not even a smaller 4/3rds format one. If you must, you can get by with this bag with one lens attached and only one stored inside the case, but you'll be sacrificing function for fashion. If Tamrac could just come up with a bag 1" wider and 3/4" deeper (front to back) it would be perfect.

I bought this bag when I purchased a new Nikon D40, extra Nikon 55-200mmVR lens, and a Nikon SB-400 light. The information for the bag said that it would hold this amount of equipment. You can fit all this gear in the bag, but just barely after removing all the padded dividers. You can also fit the charger and cables in the front pouch, but the bag is packed very tight. If you use lens hoods, it gets even more crowded. I like the bag and will continue to use it, but I just wanted folks to know it will be a tight fit if you carry all the gear the bag is advertised to hold.

I was looking for essentially a single camera case that didn't look like a camera case. This case was well made and didn't look like your typical camera case. It was small like I had hoped, but it ended up too small for my Nikon D200. There is also no way that this would have held a camera and a couple of other smaller lenses as described. Probably good if you are looking for a small and light carrying case with minimal accessories and a camera that is smaller than the D200 (maybe good for the D40 & D40X's).

I wanted a bag that would protect my investment, be easy to carry when I want it around, and most importantly, NOT look like a camera bag.

This bag is perfect.

Everything fits snugly but comfortably, even an extra battery and some filters (this particular size has been perfect for MY needs, others may want to research all the different models). The bag is well designed to distribute the weight evenly across a shoulder and the bag hung unobtrusively behind my back as I took pictures with my camera. Lens and filter changes were accomplished easily from a standing position without the need for anything other than the open bag to assist.

The most important feature to me, as I mentioned earlier, a camera bag laying on the seat of a vehicle may add just enough incentive for a would be thief to break-in. This bag looks more like a youngsters book bag than a camera bag.

The only issue I have with the bag it's the fit while you wear it. I chose this product because I did not like the conventional shoulder bags, and I was looking for a small bag that I can wear comfortably for the entire day while traveling.

The bag was a perfect solution: It was very comfortable to wear and with easy access to the camera. It is very secure type bag since it is wrapped over the chest. I did not worry about losing it, or that someone will reap it from my shoulder. The bag accommodated my Canon rebel with a telephoto lens comfortably and in the inside pockets to the left and right sides of the lens I kept a small flash and extra battery with recharger.

My only complaint was the zipper pullers-since they were large and made from metal, they made a lot of noise rattling. I removed them and replaced them with 6 new zipper pullers from REI that cost $1.50 or so a package.

I own a number of bags, belt packs, back packs and sling bag. My Lowepro 250AW does a good job of carrying more stuff than I really want to carry in a sling bag but my biggest complaint is that when you sling the bag to the front, you really only have safe access to your camera, accessories and lenses require the bag to be opened further to what I consider an unsafe condition, exposing your valuable lenses to the possibility of dropping from the bag.

I like the concept of the Sling-o-Matic, not so much for the reversible sling, but mostly for the large, side access door where you have access to all of your camera and lenses while still keeping them secure n the bag.

I labored over which size to get, I really want to limit my kit to my D600 w/Sigma 35 F1.4 attached, a Sigma 50mm F1.4 and a Tamron 70-300VI. I finally decided to start small and work my way up if need be so I ordered the Sling-o-Matic 10 and it turned out to be the perfect size.

I haven't taken it out on a trip yet but I will be heading to the UK in October and this is the bag I'll bring with me.

Utilizing the bag basically as it came from the factory I am carrying my D600 w/35mm mounted and dropped straight in the bag, the 70-300 standing up in another compartment. A Sigma 20mm f1.8 and Sigma 50mm f1.4 stacked and separated by one of the included extra dividers, in another compartment and my SB800 and D600 battery charger in yet another compartment. All of which are accessible through the one side door. Some filters, Rocket Blower and Carry Speed strap are packed in a few of the outside compartments and there is still plenty of room both in and on the bag.

My D600 with 70-300 mounted will not fit in the bag dropped straight in but everything will still fit if I rearrange two pockets so the the camera and lens can be stored laying sideways.

THe Sling-o-Matic 10 is heavy with all I have in it and it is by no means crammed full. I cant imagine the weight of either the 20 or 30 if they are packed full. If I was going on a trip where I needed to take everything that I owned I'd pack it up in my back pack and bring the Sling-0-Matic 10 along to be what I actually used when walking about.

From my limited time with it the bag is plenty comfortable though I'm sure I'll be using the reversible sling feature at some point when I'm in the UK next month. I will update this review once I return.

As for now, I'm thrilled with the bag, fit an finish are what you'd expect from Think Tank.

UPDATE 10/9/2013

I'm on my way back from the UK and I used the Sling-O-Matic 10 to carry my kit. What I learned on this trip is that camera bags, no matter which kind, are not for me. The Sling-O-Matic was comfortable but heavy, hot and bulky so I used it only to carry my kit from one city to another. Once I unpacked in my hotel room I selected the lens appropriate for what I was going to do, which in my case was always my Sigma 35mm f1.4, and donned my Carry Speed FS-SLIM Sling Strap with Foldable Mounting Plate and headed out. I'm in love with this strap, it handles the weight of my D600 and Sigma lens quite well, and doesn't cause me to perspire like the sling bag will.

I guess for me my number one concern is comfort and for that I think the Carry Speed strap is best. There were a few times I could have used my 70-300 Tamron lens but my comfort won out and it remained in the hotel safe the entire trip.

Also, after climbing around in castles and such with my camera exposed to being knocked around, I will probably invest in a BRAND NEW SLING POUCH FROM CARRYSPEED MADE BY NEOPRENE to protect both the camera and lens.

My initial inclination when searching for a new bag was to go with the Think Tank Lens Changer 25 which I will probably try next. I think this will fulfill my need for another lens and as it's around my waist my back will be cool though I'm sure it will present its own issues with my portly physique :)

This is a good quality, durable product, and functions pretty well. The only negative aspect is that it is a little on the small side. In retrospect, I might have been better off with the next size up.

I bought this specifically to take my Sigma 50-500 OS to the zoo. That lens is HUGE. This bag accommodates it on a gripped camera (5D Mark III), with room at the end for a few other small things (a wrapped gitzo ball head, and rain cover). It has plenty of exterior zippered spaces (a pet peeve with other bags that don't).

The shoulder strap is very well engineered and comfortable. The monopod straps are ingeniously designed.

I hate carrying bags but this one is engineered enough to make it more tolerable. My 11yo son carries it when the camera is out, but the rest of the stuff, including a monopod are still in/attached.

I have three TT bags and will be buying more as many more as I can rationalize.

I checked local stores for a sling bag no one had think tank it is much better than any of the others I checked out. there is enough room for my camera with my canon 70-200 f2.8 mark2 lens with the hood lens on plus a sigma 17-50 f2.8 and a 50mm f1.8. I hope a larger body camera will fit I think it will.very happy with thos product
