Have had a bigger, stiff camera bag for years. Saw this and took a chance that it might hold our cannon and lenses. Love the versatility of the bag and it is not stiff and cumbersome. Can leave the telephoto lens on the camera and zip up the case. Has lots of pickets for extras and can find things easily. Hope the "handles" hold up--that is my only concern

This has become my favorite camera bag, it looks very discrete and is the perfect size for most occasions. I would have given it a higher rating had it not been for the fact that the (leather ?) trimming along the top corner has already started to peel after only a month or so. This is a very good idea. I am surprized they are not everywhere. I like it beause i can pack this case in luggage or a camping box, backpack or onto some kind of luggage or pack. The caribbeaner is a little ackward when using this case on a belt loop. It will probably go on a belt nicely. This case has inside pockets where i put cleaner wipes for lenses and such, you could mix fresh wipes for hands and face. I gave it 3 stars because of the caribeaner fastening loop. (seemed like adding this item was an after thought that was not thought out completely.) It is pinned on too stiff and does not allow any rotation or movement. I would like to see this product manufactured with a waterproof feature. I have used this product for six months.

I do like the layout of the bag, with frontal access to the two padded equipment bags, the top opening and the possibility to store stuff (e.g. jackets) under the flap. I was a little irritated with (i) the zippers of the front opening, which tend to get stuck in the loops for the ski poles / ice axes, (ii) the difficulty of accessing the equipment pouches without completely removing them from the mail compartment. Also I think an additional zippered compartment for e.g. passports / tickets would be a plus appreciated by frequent travelers.

I am glad I took the larger version of the pack, as it accepts a laptop (Macbook air, 13") and a few slim documents. the remaining space fills up pretty quickly with stuff, so don't plan a 3 week trip with this pack, unless you have very spartan needs.

But overall a well built, solid, functional piece of equipment, which carries very comfortably, is functional, simple and looks good.

I would definitely recommend this for outdoor / wilderness photography.

The materials and construction are good. The design and user advice are flawed. If you aren't an avid backpacker this bag needs some use explanations. Pictures attached to the bag are deceiving and adjusting straps is a process of discovery for the novice. (Basically, there is a hidden "board" that allows for adjusting the straps.)

A nice feature is the curved backboard that allows airflow. It also has a 2 liter water pocket (Be certain you purchase the 2-liter size and honestly, just get the camelback version.) I took this to Arches National Park and most hikes there are fairly short. So, you are in and out of the pack constantly.

The main reason for the low rating is the set-up for holding your gear. There are two -call em camera bags -inside the opening. They have a split zipper top and handles. The handles get in the way of the zipper. So, to get a lens out, you have to take off the backpack, lay it down on the back board side, unzip the main compartment (again a split zipper and a chore at best) then unzip the camera bag.

For those reasons, I would not choose this bag again. Also, the pack itself is pretty hefty -maybe 5 to 7lbs (I'm guessing) -and working with it is an annoyance.

If you are hiking a backpack gets you a lot further down the road than you may think. Next to your camera and your headlamp, it's the most important tool you'll have.

As an avid former pro-photographer who loves the wilderness, this is the perfect companion, and it will certainly make it easier for me to do so. Most regular camera bags are a chore to hike with, and hiking bags don't really cater too well to the photography community for a number of reasons. This bag is the perfect combination of both: the comfort and storage capacity of a purpose-made hiking bag with the camera hauling capability of a camera bag. Most importantly, however, is the incredible comfort and mobility that this bag offers for its size. This is especially important to me with my bad lower back.

This wonderfully-designed and constructed photo-backpack is chock-full of neat little features: the drinking water reservoir holder, the tripod straps, hiking pole straps, and that really neat diffuser/reflector/raincover that is tucked away in the bag. The more you use the bag, the more you'll discover. There are a handful of little stash pockets, as well, which are perfect for the little gizmos that always seem to get lost—passport, chapstick, car or house keys, etc.

I can say with 100% certainty that this bag is going to replace every other bag that I'm using regularly, even when I'm not hiking. I can load this bag up with food, clothes and my laptop, a couple cameras, and fill up a pelican case with lights and stands and go shoot a glamour gig (Oh, those beautiful ladies!), or I can reconfigure it for hiking and take it on an overnight trip. I can load it up with cameras and lenses and take it on a flight, and there will still be room left over for food and whatever trinkets I pick up along the way. The comfort and versatility is second to none here, and I'd have no problem recommending it to any photographer who is constantly on the go and looking to consolidate their bag collection. Take it hiking, take it traveling, take it to a slumber party – I promise you'll love this bag.

The Tamrac digital camera bag is preciselly what I was looking for, not to big to carry around but with sufficient space to take my Canon Camera, battery charges with two additional batteries, space for spare sd card and a very convenient wrap for the shoulder.

The Camera bag arrived promptly a few days after I ordered it. It was NIB as stated. I have several Tamrac Bags and I found them to be Excellent. I ordered this model for a Nikon P 80. The camera fits real snug in the case. The first time I tried to coax the camera into the case I thought it absorbed some of the calories from my double cheese burger. It went in but it was tighter than jeans going on right out of a dryer. After a few days the case streached a Hair and its easier to put in. I have had this bag now for over 9 months and can honestly say it has more then surpassed my expectations. It stores everything I need when out with family or friends to catch all the action in one convenient place.

In the center of the bag I have the following:

1. Rebel XT body

2. Canon 430EX Flash

3. 17mm-85mm Lens

4. 75mm-300mm Lens

5. Sony Handycam Video Recorder

6. Power plug for charging Video Recorder

On the sides I store the Battery Chargers and Batteries for Flash, Camera and Video Camera, plus Tapes for the Video Camera. The front holds all the manuals for everything and a few extra Memory Cards and lens covers. Even after this, there is still space in the bag for other things. I am very pleased with this bag. It is a perfect fit for my Canon EOS 20D camera body and two lenses plus flash unit. Plus, there is room for another lens (a soon to be added zoom lens). Plenty of compartments and zippered pockets around the perimeter for carrying accessories. It even has a strap on the bottom for carrying a tripod. The bag is lightweight, water repellant, and has the interchangeable dividers so you can arrange the interior contents into any configuration you like. Well worth the price and works fine unless you plan on carrying more than 3 lenses.

I purchased this bag for my Canon digital rebel XT. It's durable and well built. Some what smaller than advertised but I'm sure it's ideal under most circumstances. Perfect if you have a camera body and single lens. However, I returned it in exchange for the Canon 200DG bag which is larger and could accommodate up to 3 lens, camera body and accessories easily. The 2400SLR bag has plastic latches, rings and zippers. The Canon 200DG has heavy metal latches and is constructed with thicker padding and heavy duty zipper and pouches. The price of the 2400SLR is very reasonable and a great value for the money. But, if you are planning to carry a camera body and 2 or more lens, I would not recommend this bag.

If you're reading this review now, then you must be debating on whether to purchase this bag or not. My answer would be to buy it!! Initially I bought a samsonite bag, but I quickly out grew that one. This canon bag (after repositioning the velcro dividers) can fit all of the following:

2. Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II

3. Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM Telephoto Zoom Lens

This bag is all everybody says it is. I just wanted to clear the air on the REAL size of the INSIDE of this bag as I have read all sorts of various sizes while attempting to research it. Front to back is 6". Side to side is 9". From bottom to top of the bag is 6 1/2". Does this mean you can't get a longer lens inside than 6 1/2", no. I have a Canon 70-200mm IS f4 L lens that is 8 1/4 inches long and it will fit, although just barely. You can get a 8 1/4" lens in the bag because the top of the bag that folds over the body of the bag is recessed and the straps that secure the top of the bag to the body of the bag are slightly adjustable, all of this flexibility allows a maximum of around 8 1/4" from top to bottom of the bag, I doubt anything longer would fit. The inside of this bag will hold my Canon T3i body with grip but with no lens attached, my 24-70mm f2.8 L lens with hood reversed, my 70-200 f4 IS L lens with hood reversed, a JVC HD Everio camcorder. That for all practical purposes fills the bag up. The side pockets are good sized and the mesh pocket on the underside of the top flap will hold a lot of small items like batteries, battery charger, SD cards, remote shutter releases and such. With all the stuff I have just described put into the bag it still is very comfortable to carry over your shoulder, as the carry strap is wide and soft, but I would not want to carry it constantly for hours on end. This bag seems to be very well made and has good design features as the inside is completely adjustable for any configuration you may need. Gets my high recommendation for a great size and quality of workmanship. If your camera with lens attached isn't longer than 8" total length it should fit in this bag, any longer most likely not.

If you're looking for a compact bag that is stylish, rugged and scalable, get this bag. I started by looking at the normal contenders such as LowePro, Canon Accessories, Samsonite and others I had forgotten about Mountainsmith as a brand. I have a new Canon Powershot G7 as a companion to a digital SLR and a higher quality than my normal digital point-and-shoot. We're having a baby so we wanted to have a solid in-between that took great pictures but was convenient to carry around all the time. I bought this bag along with the larger version of the Reflex II for my SLR Digital (and two lenses) and received both last week and everything fits perfectly.

The cute, compact bag fits my Canon Powershot G7 perfectly with adjustable inner lining, along with my Canon Speedlight 430EX flash and manual. The top zipper fits my camera-to-computer adaptor, and the front pocket fits the extra battery, memory cards and charger with no added bulk. For packing everything nice and tidy I love this bag. I am experimenting with a few smaller cases when I want to just carry the camera around separately the one that seems to work the best is the ZING neoprene fitted camera case. I also bought an extra wrist strap for added convenience. It would also be great for a compact video camera and battery charger.

The bag in warm grey suits my taste even with the multiple zippers and pulls and such since I backpack often and like an 'outdoorsy' feel. For my dad I'm getting him the same system I opted for a Lowe Pro Edit 110 bag (it's about the same size as the Mountainsmith and is 1/2 the price) and a Canon PSC-5000 Semi-Hard Leather Case for the Canon Powershot G7 since he likes a more understated, very classic look and feel for his equipment.

The OMB-74 is perfect bag for my fully assembled Canon C300. Tall enough to fit the camera with handle and lcd mounted, plus a couple lenses, batteries, power supply, etc. The bad news is that the bag is discontinued. The good news is there are a few left at great prices.

This is an awesome camera case. It has a great zipper and is able to clip to any belt loop with ease. Its hard enough to protect your camera while still being soft enough to not hurt if you keep it in a pocket. The only thing that I think it is missing is extra places for memory cards and cables.

This neoprene SLR case is perfect for cameras with a shorter lens. I purchased both this one, and the same LONGER model for telephoto lenses. This accompanies me on shorter hikes or bike rides when I want to use my smaller, compact lens, without other equipment.

It's easy to remove and install. I use it with an Olympus E3 and extended battery pack; pancake lens, or 12-60mm lens. It's better to use this, than travel with a bulky case. Even when I bring my bulky case along, I have my camera zing-covered, around my neck; therefore, I don't have to go in and out of my bag to retrieve.

Note: Because most of my shooting is outdoors, even though my camera is fairly weather safe, and this case is too, I bring a small, folded rain cover [tucked inside this neoprene case], as a precaution in case of severe weather.

I was going on a trip that wasn't going to allow me to take my normal camera bag around with me, so I needed a solution that I'd feel comfortable with just throwing my DSLR into my backpack. This looked like what I wanted, there's a few different options out there but it's kind of scary blindly ordering one as size is a huge factor with them. With so many different camera, lens and accessory combinations it's almost impossible to know 100% unless you have the luxury of physically trying your equipment in the cover.

The best I can do is detail what I'm using. I was using a Canon T3i with a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC lens on it, as well as the Canon BG-E8 Battery Grip and Opteka Grip Strap. The battery grip is the thing I was worried about this cover fitting. Lucky for me it fit great. Because of the mount on the bottom of the camera that my Black Rapid strap uses I did have to unscrew it from the base before putting the Zing cover on, but that was easily done.

Timeless quality, I really would like everything that I purchase to have this kind of quality, feels as if it will last for ever if taken care of properly. Shipping was at the longer end of the 2 week spectrum, but well worth it, I have never seen a camera strap this nice. Definitely does not look like a stock tourist strap. My only issue was that the gold key-chain clips do not fit my camera easily, I will probably swap out these clips, but it was kind of a bonus it came with these clips at all. Very heavy duty and very nice stitching. Smells of rich leather!
