First the top (lid) has something on the back side that makes it hard to keep open...just won't flop open & second it's about 2" to deep. The shoulder strap clips are sewn so high up the side of the bag, they block the top zipper from a free flow movement. Nice construction for the most part, but would not have purchased if had seen it before. Would not recommend this bag

Received the package and immediately tried to set up my gear. First thing I tried to do was use the handy side compartment. Much to my disappointment, my camera was not easily inserted and even more difficultly removed. I have a Canon 7D. One problem with this bag is the zipper does not unzip far enough. The zipper stops shy of 180 degrees leaving a lot of resistance with the flap. I didn't have my battery grip on at the time, but still had to take the bag completely off and fight to get the camera out. Now that I have my battery grip on, there is no chance of using this access (using this access compartment was the selling point). On top of the bad zipper design, one of the shoulder straps is also in the way. The computer bag was a tad too small for my laptop. I couldn't get it completely zipped without feeling like the zipper was going to detonate. Finally, it's big! Really big! It can't possibly be used as a carry-on. If this was tried to be carried onto an aircraft, I'm sure, because of the size, the airline would make you check it at the gate which would defeat the purpose. I know it wouldn't fit under a seat, and you would be lucky to get this giant bag in the largest overhead compartment.

For me, this bag is unusable in many ways.

We used this backpack on a plane trip we took to Florida over Christmas. The camera held our camera gear, tripod, christmas gifts, a frozen elk sausage, a big tin of cookies, and all the other things I could stuff in there. Yes it stayed cold the whole day (excellent insulation). We had the backpack weighed down very heavily. We even took a 2 mile (according to our pedometer) walk in the airport because of plane delays and it was very comfortable on my husband's shoulders and back.

It looks as pictured. Materials are of excellent quality. The color is crisp. Zippers and zip pulls are solid and attractive. The strap is firm and padded but it is not excessive long. For me it is a good size but if you are 6'6" and 300 lbs it might be smallish. It is what you would expect for a small camera case. I got it for a Fuji XP 150. The fit is perfect. There is a little pocket for it that when the case opens it cradles the camera so it is easy to get to but not likely to fall out of. There is a back pocket that fits the charger and spare battery and memory cards. A zip area for spares too. There is not belt loop but there is a locking claps for hooking to a belt loop. Overall it is very excellent.

I just purchased this for my canon eos rebel. The bag is a good size for this type of camera with the standard lens only. There's not much room for anything else. A longer lens would not fit in this bag. There is also another pocket where you can put some small items like the lens cap and cord. It's pretty sturdy and is a nice, compact and lightweight bag.

The only thing I'm not too happy with is that the padding on the inside seems to not bounce back as quickly, and sometimes not at all like it has been sitting there for a long while and have gotten old overtime and lost it's 'spongyness'... But as I said, it gets the job done non the less. The entire casing is hard and durable, and even with the not-so-spongy-padding inside, it the gear is still able to withstand some shock without any damage.

*UPDATE: 2 Oct 2013*

It's been just about 4 months, and it has worked great so far keeping my equipment protected from bumps and scratches, and even when a drink fell on the case everything was protected. However, a couple days ago, I noticed the hinges for the handle are starting to come loose. They're riveted on, so it's not like I can take a screw and tighten it myself. Extra caution would now need to be taken when handling the case by its top handle.

This bag is great. I use it whenever I want to my camera with me. It looks good enough to use in public so I generally bring it along even when I don't intend on taking pictures. It holds my Sony Alpha 500, 50mm, 18-55mm, and 55-200mm lens' with no problems. I can even keep a hoodie in the top compartment just in case. Getting access to the camera compartment is a breeze. The two strap design is also really great. With both straps in I can run around and the bag stays in place. When I need to access my camera, I just un-click one of the straps and the bag swings around with ease. When I want to take the bag off I just un-click the other strap, and the bag slides off my shoulder. The only downside is if I give the bag to someone who doesn't know how to use it, they generally put it on wrong, but that's their problem.

This is everything that I expected after reading all of the positive reviews. My priorities were:

1. Must hold my Canon 7d, charger, 28-135 usm lens with hood, 70-300usm, USB cables, and pockets to hold a water bottle and a storage area for a wallet, hat, and sunglasses. Stores camera with either lens attached.

2. Easy and quick to get to camera while strapped over shoulder

3. Looks good and not like a camera bag with $2k worth of equipment in it.

4. Be comfortable and light.

5. Straps tightly to body so you can do a light jog and not get bounced all over the place.

It's met all of my criteria with 5 stars. 1 minor objective not met is that I need to keep the hood backwards when my 70-300lens is mounted.

Really pleased with my purchase. I went through several other obvious trials with different brands and I felt I was having to compromise too much.

The camera bag was exactly what I had hoped for. It is very well made, well-padded to protect camera & extra lenses. I like the zippers, rather than plastic clips (which break easily). It is compact enough to fit into my backpack for airplane travel. It has enough room for my D5100 Nikon, plus 55-300 mm telephoto lens. There are other compartments for filters, memory cards, batteries, etc. I like the red nylon inner lining-that makes it more distinctive. It seems to be well padded, giving protection for those unexpected drops/bumps. I also like that there is no logo (ie Nikon), which makes the bag less likely to be stolen. It has a red nylon cover included. I'm guessing it is meant to protect the bag & contents from moisture/rain. It probably would not be that much help in a downpour. It has a sturdy hand strap, as well as a padded shoulder strap. It is very comfortable & light to carry. As an amateur photographer, this is the only bag I carry. It is perfect for my use.

I was looking for a lightweight compact holster type bag wide enough to accomodate my Nikon D7000 with verical grip and standard zoom attached, plus room for a flash unit, or a wide angle lens. This Kata A-16 bag fits those requirements perfectly and offers some additional features as well. This Kata bag comes with a seperate rain/dust cover that fits over the bag with an elastic band to keep it in place. Also, the bottom of the bag can be expanded by unzipping it and will then accomodate a Nikkor 70-300 VR attached to the D7000 (with top closed). The side lens pouch accomodates an SB-600 flash unit, or a lens up to 4 inches in length. I like how the lens pouch in seperate from the camera compartmemt with it's own zipper, so that it can not fall out of the bag, or be exposed to rain or dust when the camera compartment is left open. The other side pouch is too small for a lens, so I usually just keep spare lens caps and the camera's detachable neckstrap in it. Buid quality is very good, but not pro quality. Padding is adequate, but not as thick as some bags in order to keep the weight down. If you want an unobtrusive minimialist compact bag for a DSLR and a small light kit then this is it. Keep in mind that If you need carry more gear than what I mentioned, you need to get a larger bag.

My experience with the kata "lifetime Warranty" is just aweful. I owned an H-14 that had the handle padding come apart and the plastic clasp break. Took over 2.5 months and endless calls to get them to honor this "warranty." They sent me this 14-PL as the replacement. I consider the padding and security inadequate for my camera.

This holster pack is very well worth the money! It is built very well, sturdy and very good looking. The color is not quite as bright as the photo it is more a lighter lavender, pretty none the less. It is large enough for my Canon T3 with the 18-55 mm lens attached. There is a sewn in cleaning cloth with a little pocket to stuff the cloth into out of the way or do as I do stretch it completely across the LCD screen to prevent scratching from my camera strap which also fits if folded back and forth across the top. A little pocket on the outside has a net pocket on the inside of it for memory cards and such, the pocket itself I had put my covers from the camera body and back end of lens. Nice padded handle on the top and a double velcro loop to hook around your belt if you wear one. The strap and hooks are pretty solid and the entire body of the case is padded with nylon zippers. Shipping from the UK to the eastern central US was less than a week and a half. I'd give this product a 10 rating if that was possible, good purchase!

Although I didn't keep the camera that I got this bag for, I still love the bag itself. Its hard to find this type of camera bag in girly colors. This is a good quality bag & I didn't have to sacrifice my color preference ( a win win!).

Really nice padding, like almost feels like memory foam, the whole way around the inside of the case. Super soft material inside too, and came with a lens cloth attached to the inside, which I love cause I won't lose it and it will always be with me. Nice padded shoulder strap too if you have a heavy camera, but the bag is so lightweight I hardly know I'm carrying it. Nice, and big, plenty of room for my camera. I have an Olympus sp-720uz and you could almost fit 2 of them in there.

The only con is that it doesn't have a lot of extra storage space. It has a small front pocket, which is big enough for my charger to go in and that's about it. But for me, that's really all I need.

I love this bag Very nice materials, well constructed, with good protection for your equipment. A few reviewers claim this is a bag for "middle class" photographers. These are folks who still think that owning recognized brand names makes them better photographers. It doesn't. If you don't need something bigger, and you're not going to be putting a huge amount of weight in it, this is a great bag. I keep my medium format camera, two extra lenses, and general paraphernalia in it, and it fits nicely and is comfortable to wear for many hours. You can't go wrong with this one.

Once I added the Body Glove cover to my LG Xpression cell phone it would no longer fit in it's leather pouch. I went to a well-known box store to see what they would have that would fit my phone and this Acme Made camera case was the only thing that would work. They had the other three models with the shiny hard case (red, blue and white) but this model with the matte finish was quite a bit cheaper on Amazon so I snagged it up. The materials are nice, the case is solid on the back and front, the two ended zipper works well, the belt-loop is wide and holds firm, elastic hinge material keeps it from opening too wide or allowing your camera to fall out, the inside is felt lined but not padded and there is a small pocket on the inside for holding something like a memory card. Overall it's very nice and should work well for the life of the phone. It should also lengthen the life of the phone too.

I have a Cisco HD Flip Camera that does not do well in a soft case but it loves to reside in this semi hard case. The soft cases let an occasional squeeze from handling turn the camera on. A two hour HD video of the inside of a camera case and an exhausted battery was not what I was after. This thing has worked well for me and adds protection for the camera. These cases come in at least a glossy white and a glossy red. My wife likes the red one. We have all three. I like the name "Acme", the preferred brand of Wylie Coyote.
