I like this small, lightweight camera case, just big enough to hold my Nikon J1 camera in it's leather case and and my extra lens. Space left for extra batteries, manual, cable, and my manual. Lowepro quality and organization evident. This bag will NOT do or haul EVERYTHING but meets my needs for now. I have several digital camera bags(my wife might read this so i'll leave it at that) and i needed a bag to carry a "loaded" Canon 70-200 2.8 L II IS on my 7D body. The bag does this well with the hood still backwards but the remaining lenses can't have on hoods in the lower compartment. This bag flew with me as my "personal item" and my carry on suitcase to Phoenix for a Grand Canyon (yes, i went down into the Canyon with it minus my Macbook), Joshua Tree NP, and Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument.
In the bag: Macbook 17", 7D,5D, Canon 70-200 2.8 L II IS, Canon 100mm Macro, Canon 24-105mm L IS, Hoods for these 3 lenses, Domke Protective Wrap, Canon 1.4 extender, extra caps, extra flash cards, camera manual, extra eye cup, lumquest soft screen, cleaning cloths and lens pen, Op/Tech Rainsleeve, case with circular polarizing filter, battery charger, spare battery, 4G flash drive, Dazzle USB to download cards, Petzl Tikka XP headlamp, sunglasses, hat, bandana, nylon shell vest, 2 bottles of water, snacks and gum. I attached my parka shell below the back safety panel.
I kept everything together and carried it all with me into the field and room and car. When I removed the long lens i placed it in the upper pouch and could work quickly removing the camera body and smaller lenses together especially when hiking for a while. I did fall over once while leaning over from a kneeling position shooting macro because i never used the hip strap and the pack shifted. The pack was very stable in the field and in the airport and plane.
Now i'm putting the 5D body with macro lens or 24-70L in the upper pouch and leave long zoom on the 7D.
Oh, my wife said the blue bag matched my windblock jacket and was pretty! This bag does not look like a camera bag so extra safety.
FINAL WORDS-can carry like a sling bag(i have one) or backpack with/without computer as good daybag without bringing it "all" with you. durable & tough i'd put it backwards on a rock or dirt often & it's not even marred. cleaned up well from debris after going through tight places. maybe this will help you to choose the right bag for youself the first time, but you'll wind up with another as your gear changes.

I Got this to replace my Lowepro CompuDayPack because it was too small -this is PERFECT -it fits my macbook pro beautifully, and it fits my Canon 40D with large zoom lens attached, along with all my other lenses and gear -and its secure and relatively lightweight, as well as comfortable to wear. Believe me, I have tried almost every SLR-COmputer backpack on the market, and this one is just about perfect for my use.Note that this is NOT designed for heavy-duty hiking-trail type shooting. There is no ability to lash anything to the bag. It is specifically designed to be a lightweight carry-all your gear bag. I found this to be the perfect travel bag for a recent trip to Walt Disney World -airplane carry-on compatible, lightweight, and allowed me to take all the gear I wanted to safely on board. I found myself not using the bag itself once at the resort, but it sure was convenient and easy to use.
I've also used it on multiple local shoots in the area where I needed my laptop along.
Highly recommended.

I have been searching for a camera bag with light backpacking feature for a long time and finally settled on this one. The first impression is that the bag looks bigger than expected. But then once everything is put into the bag, you realize that the bag is the smallest size to fit all the stuff.The top compartment for backpacking and the bottom compartment for camera equipment are nicely separated with padding. The laptop compartment has very thick padding (an inch of padding with both sides combined) This might have added some weight to the bag and for someone does not need the laptop capability, the Fastpack 200 would be a choice with lighter weight. The top compartment does not have the necessary padding for camera equipment as it is designed for personal items.
Many people are wondering (including myself) whether the bag will fit a 70-200 2.8 when making the purchase decision. The answer is Yes. I have a 30D with 16-35, 24-105 and 70-200 2.8 IS. There are two possible configurations.
First is to mount the 70-200 on the camera with hood reversed. But removing the divider in the center space, it's a nice fit. The other two lens are put into the bottom 2 spaces. Both lens hood can be put into the outside pocket of the top compartment. With the 70-200 in the middle, the top spaces are too narrow for any lens. Even a 50/1.4 is a very tight fit. But it can snugly fit a flash and a 1.4X teleconverter.
The 2nd choice is to mount a different lens on the camera, say 24-105, and store the 70-200 on the bottom space with the divider in the bottom space removed. The 70-200 in the bottom space is a tight fit but it does fit, although the end divider is slightly bulged by the lens cap. In either configuration, the top space is only designed for flash and teleconverter like, maybe a small lens like 50/1.4, but definitely not for any lens bigger. The camera with one the 24-105 mounted and hood reversed will fit in the center space, although it must be reversed (upside down) since the bulging lens cap from the 70-200 is too close. The 16-35 will then fits in the center space with the divider put back on. The hood for 16-35 is too large to fit and can be easily stored in the outside pocket of the top compartment.
There are plenty of small pouches for memory cards, battery, and filters on the pouch outside the compartment. The water bottle mesh pocket strap is nice. Once the bag is put on the shoulder, it feels well balanced. The shoulder strap is nicely padded, wide and comfortable. The waist strap helps balance the bag and distribute some weight off the shoulder. With one shoulder strap released, you can swing the bag to the front for quick camera access.
The bag is not All Weather and it does not have a place for tripod or monopod. That's not a downside since the one with these features would be much higher priced and for all different needs. My only complaint is that the cell phone pouch on the shoulder strap is too small for smart phones like Treo. If only it is designed to be 1/4 of inch larger!

I recently purchased a Canon XSi with a couple of lenses and needed a camera bag to carry them around in. I live in New Hampshire and enjoy landscape and nature photography, so I decided pretty quickly that I wanted a backpack rather than a shoulder bag. I looked at the Fastpack 100 at Best Buy, and while it would have worked for me as a camera bag, there wasn't much storage space for day hikes in the upper compartment. It also seemed expensive for its size at $75.When I checked on Amazon.com to check other options for camera backpacks, I found that their prices on the Lowepro products were so much cheaper than Best Buy's that I could get a Fastpack 250 for the same price Best Buy charged for the Fastpack 100 (note: price has increased slightly at Amazon since I purchased this)! Based on the reviews on Amazon, it seemed to be what I was looking for. That was confirmed once I received it. The bag is spacious and has three main compartments the lower half is a space for camera equipment (with adjustable padded dividers to protect the components and two memory card pockets), the upper half has space for whatever else you want to carry (with small pockets for pens, cell phone, change, etc), and the back compartment will hold a standard size laptop. There are also pockets on the outside of the upper and lower sections for items you want immediate access to (maps, snacks, etc...). The camera equipment compartment opens on the side, which makes it easy to grab your SLR with an attached lens (which fits in the front section of the compartment) without removing the backpack. However, if you want to change lenses or use an external flash, I think you would need to take the pack off I wouldn't want to risk my equipment falling out by fully unzipping the bottom compartment with the pack on my back. Also, since I only have the body and two lenses right now, I use the free space in the camera compartment to hold my video camera and other items.
The bag has mesh pocket on the side that can be used for a water bottle or anything else you may want to have immediate access to when hiking or traveling. It also has a pocket on one of the straps which is about the right size for a small cell phone or a multitool. The back of the pack and the straps are well padded, and the back is comfortable to wear. I haven't worn it with a laptop in the back compartment, so I am not sure how that would impact the comfort.
So plenty of space, well designed and comfortable to wear...why did I give it four stars instead of five? The one thing missing that I really would have wanted to see was an integrated rain cover. While the information that comes with the bag indicates that the fabric is water resistant, I really would have preferred a waterproof rain cover given the cost of the equipment being carried in the bag, especially given the quick moving thunderstorms that we see in NH in the summer months. It seems odd that a such a well thought out pack would not have such a common feature.
Overall, this is a great back for daytrips and hiking in the country or in the city. If the water resistant fabric can keep the equipment on the inside as dry as a cover would have (haven't had it out in the rain), it will be a perfect bag for my purposes.

The big problem with this bag is that there are no lashing straps to strap gear to the outside of the pack. Hiking backpacks always have these straps. Photographers need to be able to lash a tripod or monopod to the outside of their pack; maybe a jacket, too. The pack is excellent except for this important omission.Thursday, December 4, 2014
Tenba Mixx Top Load Small Review
I already had a number of small camera bags, most either manufactured by Tamrac or Lowepro. I didn't really need another bag, but since this item was available at Warehouse Deals at a substantial discount, I decided to buy my first Tenba bag.
A triangular shaped holster just screams "I'm carrying a DSLR!", so the more generic rectangular shape of the Tenba MIXX Top Load was a positive, although it still looks like a camera bag. I would have preferred all black for a lower profile, but the black/orange color scheme was what was available. I was generally impressed by Tenba's build quality and workmanship, and find them on par with Lowepro and Tamrac.
The bag has a sturdy nylon belt loop located near the top of the case, where it provides good stability. There is a layer of nylon mesh on the back side, to help with heat dissipation. In the front there is a large zippered compartment, which contains an internal zippered compartment, and two small pockets suitable for memory cards, batteries, or other small items. The included rain cover can be stored here, or inside the bag to give you a little more room. On each of the bag's side panels, there is a small pocket made of neoprene. Although Tenba claims that you can securely store items like a cell phone here, I would not place anything valuable in these pockets, as items can easily slide out. The adjustable shoulder strap has easily operable metal clips, and metal swivel fittings. The attachment fittings on the bag are plastic, but at least they are thick walled, and not likely to break easily.
The case has a decent amount of padding surrounding the main compartment. With approximate interior dimensions of 4.5"x7"x7.5"D, the bag can comfortably accommodate a DSLR with a mid-sized lens up to about 5" with a 77mm filter. Because of the rectangular shape, there is enough room at the bottom of the bag for a smaller DSLR, like a Canon Rebel XSi, to be inserted into the case backwards, with the lens facing the top. It's a tight fit in this position, but there is enough room to pack in a stiff sling type strap, like those by Black Rapid. Unfortunately, this bag is too small to do this same maneuver with the larger EOS 7D. Finding a small bag with enough space to accommodate an R-Strap can be tricky, as these bulky straps take up a lot of space.
This bag is very roomy for carrying a single DSLR with a conventional strap. It even accommodates my Rebel XSi with a battery grip attached. Still, it definitely has practical limitations. Using the Rebel, I found that in certain configurations, there is enough space to carry a spare lens, however the lens mounted on the camera, probably can't exceed 3 inches. If your lens is 2 inches or less, you should be able to squeeze the Rebel and a flash unit into the bag. You can try various configurations and combinations, but if you intend to carry more gear, this should not be your primary camera bag, and you might want to consider Tenba's larger version of this bag (Tenba 638-645 Mixx Large Top Load (Black/Orange)).
There is a zippered pocket made of opaque plastic with a mesh overlay, on the bottom of the lid. There is a cloth tab over the zipper tab to prevent it from scraping your camera. If you store the rain cover at the bottom of the main compartment, it provides a little more padding in a crucial area, and frees space in the front pocket.
Typical for most camera bags, being confident that the Tenba MIXX Top Load will meet your needs, could be tough. I searched YouTube prior to buying, but found no user reviews. If you are unable to actually see and touch this bag, hopefully some of what I have discussed will be of some help. My findings are based on Canon gear, so your results may vary. A very well-made bag, the current price of $23 is not excessive for this kind quality.

The Nikon D3100 fits perfectly with the lens that comes on the camera. I also carry a polarized lens and some extra memory and an extra battery in the bag. Eynpire Camera Leather Case For Canon Powershot G12 G11 Review
I just opened the package an hour ago. I was a little nervous about how this would fit the camera and if it would look like some kind of cheap imitation leather, but it fits like a glove and looks wonderful. I was looking for something that would harken back to the old rangefinder cameras of 50 years ago, which this nice leather case does. I couldn't be happier with it.
My case arrived with a slight apparent flaw in a piece of the trim on one of its leather edges, but the flaw appears to be so slight as to be inconsequential. My only other concern is that the rear snap that holds the upper part of the case in place while it still is partially attached feels a little loose. That may be deliberate, however, to facilitate removal but I'm a little concerned about the possibility of its becoming ineffective over time. My wife & I will be on vacation overseas during early July and that's when I'll be able to test this case "in use." Thereafter, this four-star rating could become five.
There are some things about it that make it less than perfect though. The leather edge that abuts the swing out screen is just a wee bit to tall resulting in the bottom edge of the screen not quite cleanly clearing the edge of the case when it is open and closed. Access to the cable connector port requires that the case be completely removed. The latter is merely inconvenient and the former worries me a bit when I think of the impact over many years of use.
All in all, I'm rather more pleased than displeased and am happy with the item.
After reading a number of the other reviews, it really seems as though the manufacturer either has amazingly inconsistent quality assurance or is actually selling two very similar but different cases. Mine has the Canon logo on front, is clearly leather and is well made. If this is not what you end up receiving, you should probably return it and ask for the genuine article.
Here's the worst part. I gave Eynpire Camera a terrible review for the first case. Soon after, I received an email from Amazon saying they would give me a $15 credit if I removed the review. Really? I took a few days to think about it, and when I went back, thinking, ok, I'll take the money, they had already removed it!
Be careful of Eynpire and of Amazon!

I received this Eynpire Case for my Canon G12 just a few weeks ago and, so far, I'm very pleased with it. The case is well-designed, it fits my G12 perfectly and it performs as I had expected from the pictures of the case. The bottom half of the case fastens to the camera by way of the knurled knob on that bottom half, which knob screws into the tripod socket. (The bottom half has to be removed to access the memory card and/or the battery, but I expected that) When the top half of the case is detached either fully or partially, the articulated LCD can be used without obstruction from the case, which is very important to me because I use that LCD feature almost constantly when traveling. I had to buy two of these cases. I have the G-12. The case fits, but it is very snug. The case does not get in the way of the screen swinging out. However, I would not recommend this case. It is pretty, but it is poorly made. The first one had gashes in the leather, and the button on the bottom of the case that holds the two pieces together did not work AT ALL! They did not stay together at all. I complained, and the complaint goes directly to Amazon, because this item is fulfilled by Amazon. They paid for return shipping and they shipped out a new one, with one-day shipping, at no cost to me. Unfortunately, the case did not make it in time for my trip. When I got back and saw it, I was still disappointed. Although the second case looked flawless, the same button does not hold well. I do not trust it, and it seems like it may give at any time. I may end up losing the top portion of the case if I'm not careful.Here's the worst part. I gave Eynpire Camera a terrible review for the first case. Product works well after you chase the threads and use a thread file to remove the Chrome Plating flash from the thumb screw. That's why I can't give it a 5 star rating. The original and the replacement had the same "out of the box" problem.

Tell me, how many of you have a re-threading die and a thread pitch file? I just so happen to have one because I'm a Machinist. You'll need these items for this product.

I'm so glad I did because it's exactly what I was looking for... just enough room for my camera, a spare battery, and a spare memory card. The title specifically says this camera case is for the Canon PowerShot SX280 HS, which is exactly the camera I bought. When it arrived, it's too small! The internal dimensions are way too small. I know that this is for a small camera and believe me it travels very well and fit im most spaces, but I find that though I had a small camera I needed more space for picture cards and batteries. I had to cut down a multiple card clip to fit into the case. This was the only way to keep track of what picture cards we used. although the main part of the case in which my camera resides is useful, I was dismayed when I received it as the strap had one clip broken and the first time I opened and closed the additional pocket, the zipper broke. Protective Camera Case Bag Cover Protector for Canon Power Shot S Reviews
I bought this case to protect my new S100 during vacation. It is a quality built stitched leather case with a soft felt-like interior. The camera attaches to the bottom half with the thumb screw mount and has two rings to attach a strap (included). The top half of the case attaches with three snaps so you can remove the top half for shooting pictures and still have the camera protected from the bottom and sides. The bump on the front of the case for the lens is longer than it needs to be so it does bulk up the package quite a bit from the relatively small bare camera. The top snaps off and on easily enough but if I were designing it I'd add some provision for a teather so it wouldn't get dropped while snapping a shot.
Another thing worth mentioning is the thumb screw threads, they were too long for my Canon S100 and bottomed out about one turn from being tight to the case. As a result, the camera did not sit tight in the bottom half of the case and rocked back and forth slightly. Most people might not even notice but we Engineers are particular about details like this. Fortunately for me the fix was easy, I just popped out the thumbscrew and machined off one thread in my lathe. I suppose it could be done with a file too but this is a easily fixed detail that the manufacturer might consider changing in the future.
In spite of the little screw length glitch I would still recommend this case for someone that is looking for a nice protective case for their camera. As a side note, I also bought the same case for my Canon G1X at the same time and that case did not have the screw length problem. If you're looking for a leather case I would not hesitate to buy this one again.

The Clik Elite Square Filter Valet is a very nice option to store your 4x6 filters. It is well made using strong materials and can store up to seven 4x6 filters, each in a separate slot. It takes up about as little space as possible while still providing sufficient protection for your filters (MUCH less space than having each filter in its own pouch.) The filters are easy to access, and easy to identify using the convenient tabs at the top of the slots where you can add your own label.A few minor suggestions that would make this item better:
1. While there are 7 slots to store filters, there are only 6 tabs for labels.
2. It would be nice if it had a slot that could be used to insert a business card or other label with the owners name and address information.
3. It would be nice if it had a belt loop so you could wear the valet.
All in all a nice option for storing your filters.

After what seems like an endless search for a suitable filter holder for large format 100 x 150mm filters, I have finally found the holy grail. This is the one to get, same footprint as the standard filter pouch (as supplied by Lee with each filter) and only twice as thick. Difference being that this holder fits at least 6 filters. This holder fit straight into my camera bag in place of the 2 Lee pouches that were there. The filters are all very well protected by a tough semi rigid outer material, with the inner compartments being lined in a soft material. Each compartment can be custom labelled to suit your setup. I plan to see if this holder can be placed inside the Lowepro S+F 100 pouch. That way the filters will be easily accessed on the move AND be very well protected. Just a shame that it had to be imported as I could not find a supplier in the UK. I bought for £36 delivered from the USA, arrived in a week ! Review of AmazonBasics DSLR and Laptop Backpack (Orange interior)
I have been using a smaller camera bag, but it was getting to hard to fit everything in it. Also, I wanted something that looked a little more discreet and didn't scream out "Come steal my camera" so loud. So, after checking out the many bags here, I chose this new one. It didn't have any reviews yet, so I took a chance, but it has worked out well. Here is why:
Great storage options, including movable velcro compartments that you can adapt to fit each lens snugly. The main compartment for the camera (I have a Canon T5i) allow you to keep a longer lens on it, including a telephoto lens (I keep a 300 on the camera body). There is even a velcro strap to go over the camera part for extra protection. I currently have 3 more lens and an external flash stored with it, and there is still room for a few other items in the main compartment if I need it.
Plenty of room for your other gear, such as memory cards, spare batteries, etc... I keep my memory cards, lens cleaner, and spare batteries in one of the zippered compartments for easy access without taking a chance on it rattling around or falling out.
Discreet...it looks like a normal backpack, so it doesn't scream out (Come steal my expensive camera) if you happen to set it down for a minute.
It has a place on the outside that you could tie on a tripod, although I have not tried it yet.
Overall, I have been very happy with this bag, and it is a big improvement over my smaller camera bag that was just getting to full. If you need a upgrade your camera bag, this backpack type bag is a good choice.
So why only 3 STARS, well the VERY FIRST Time as I took it out of its packaging wrapper and I unzipped the compartment which holds the computer, the zipper pull came off in my hand. When that happens the first time, what else will break after minimum usage. Let me also say that the zipper pulls are plastic and not metal, as on other bags I have, which I admit did cost more. Yet for any part to break on initial use is indicative of poor quality control. Maybe I got an errant product, but maybe not; I suspect that anyone else who got a similar product would be less than favorably impressed. If it had no defects, which it did, I would also give it 5 stars, but in good conscience cannot. Quality control is a problem IMHO.
All of these items do add weight to the bag. That's why it is a good thing they designed the shoulder straps well. They are nicely padded, and there is additional padding on the bag itself to cushion it against your back. The bag also comes with a rain cover.
If there were any complaints about it, it would have to be dedicated pockets for SD cards, but besides that I love it.
The video is a demo showing all compartments and features of the pack. There is no audio.
Review: If you're looking for a small day-pack for your dslr and one extra lens, this isn't it. If you like carrying every lens in your arsenal and maybe the kitchen sink on occasion, this backpack will easily do it, keeping everything safe and being as comfortable as a bag full of expensive and relatively heavy camera gear can be.
I'm a tough customer when it comes to bags. I don't want one big compartment where everything ends up in a jumble at the bottom, but I also hate bags that have so many nooks and crannies that I'm constantly forgetting what the heck I've brought with me. This bag does a good job of keeping things in place, but it's also pretty easy to remember where it's all stored since it's made up of one main compartment, a laptop sleeve in the back, an accessory section in the front, and two small side pockets.
The only downside I see with this pack is that when I'm not wanting to carry everything, there's no way to completely remove some of the compartments so the bag is less obtrusive. It would be nice to have a way to shrink down it's Quasimodo-ish dimensions. The depth is especially problematic when moving in crowded areas or using public transportation.
It is extremely comfortable for all-day use, the padding is located properly and fits both myself and my husband, who is a head taller and quite a bit thinner than me.
If an extra-large camera bag is what you need, then this one definitely fits the bill, but I think for most users who carry a single camera body and a few lenses, the massive size will keep you from taking it with you everywhere.

It had more than ample compartments for a lot of camera lens and accessories and can easily accommodate two DSLR cameras plus my 17" Mac Book Pro and it provides a separate cover for the computer, although I don't see a benefit for a nylon cover as it wouldn't protect anything. The extra padding to rest against your back is sufficient as was the interior padding separating the different items inside. The carrying straps were more than adequate padded and easily adjustable. This AmazonBasics bag is fantastic. I am able to pack in two of my cameras, 4 lenses, external microphone, 4 batteries, AA batteries and charger, and more misc items. It holds my laptop with ease. I am also able to strap on a small pair of sticks to the side.All of these items do add weight to the bag. That's why it is a good thing they designed the shoulder straps well. This is the best bag I have and I now have 3.One is a Tamrac speed pack 75.Canon gadget bag 100e both of them wont let me take my laptop with and they don't hold all of my gear.I like this one more because you can get a lot in it. Now I can take my laptop with me!! My other bags wont let me.It never said it comes with a rain cover and I like that it has one. At some point I want to add a flash and a 55-200mm lens to my kit.
