i like this bag, it is a perfect size for my camera with the lens attached on it (nikon d3200 with tamron 18-270mm lens). my lens did come with a "hood", and that hood needs to be screwed onto the lens in a way where it does not stick out, in order to fit into the bag. i ended up measuring my camera with lens on it in 3 dimensions, and then going to the vanguard's website to see which size would be best. they have a nice site where they describe products in detail to include their outer and inner dimensions. i wanted something "just right" for my camera, and not to lug around a huge bag. it was already an adjustment from a "point-and-shoot" camera to a DSLR, and i did not want a bag that was twice the size of the camera. the wall is lightly padded all over, and there is more rigidity to the bottom of the bag, than to the sides.

there is an inner pocket within the main compartment, where i keep the extra memory cards, and i made an extra pocket with the included divider, where i keep the camera charger. under the flap, there is also a larger pocket that can be zipped where i keep the lens pen. i wish there were also some outer pockets (on the wall opposite of flap) and/or on the sides below where the straps attach to keep car keys, or a thin wallet there usually i don't want to carry a purse in addition to the camera bag, so it would be nice to have an extra pocket.

i also like that this bag does not look like a camera bag, but more like a normal bag, just in case it would be safer as a theft precaution. so i think that it's very inconspicuous, compared to some other camera bags that i looked at does not have brand names in ginormous font splattered all over bag and/or strap.

Bought this for my daughter's Canon digital SLR and she did not like it. She thought it was a fun color and design, but because it has a velcro closure, it was not secure enough. Also, the strap is not very comfortable.

I got this for my dad's new Sony NEX-6. It fits perfectly with the standard lens attached, plus a 200mm lens; there is a divider that separates and protects the camera from the extra lens. There is room in the front pocket for an extra battery and filters, plus SD card pockets. He can get everything he needs in there, and the fit is neither tight, nor bulky. The bag is well-made, with a solid bottom, plus it doesn't scream CAMERA BAG either like a number of competitors' offerings in this price and size range. The pattern on it is smart and modern-looking. I got the bag for a steal from a third party vendor, but even at the regular list price that Amazon is selling for, is worth it in my esteem. I chose this bag over about four others that I had narrowed the selection down to, and am very pleased! I had never head of Vanguard before but I will look for their products in the future.

I use this to protect my camera in a larger carryall bag. It holds my T3i and a small lens, a cheat sheet, an external hard drive, lens cloth and charger. Not quite large enough for me to comfortably carry larger lenses.

This is perfect for carrying your basic camera without using a larger heavy bag.
