The leg is very sturdy for it's weight, but the mounting stud came out of the top the first time I tried to attach it to my camera.
I tried gluing it back in with two different types of glue and allowing it to set several days before using. Neither held. It was originally attached with glue.
It makes a great walking stick, but not usable for photography. Not worth the hassle of returning for no more than I paid.
Two stars only because it might have been an exception to the rule.
I love my new Manfrotto! I paid 3+ times as much, but got what i paid for.

I use this for a laser distometer for work. It locks up securely and works quite well. I recommend this to any riggers, though you will need to find something to turn the laser 90 degrees so it fires up, not across.
