I have the much more expensive Kata E-702 Large Digital SLR Camera Raincover, but I like this product better. It's very simple, with an elasticized end that just fits over my Canon EF 200mm f/2L IS USM Telephoto Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras, which has a pretty large diameter (too large for the Kata).
The soft material means it can be folded up very compactly much more so than the rather stiff Kata raincover. It's as easy to pack as a plastic bag, and easy to slip over your camera and lens.
I suppose it might not be as waterproof as the thick plastic Kata if you're out taking photos in a hurricane. And the Kata has the advantage of being transparent, so you can read your LCD screen through it. (Though realistically, if it's raining, you can't see that much anyway.) All in all, I find this a much more useful product, not to mention cheaper. My thanks to whoever invented it. I love it.

This is a good cover, the design is fantastic... BUT it only stayed 'water-resistant' for my DSLR for about 5 minutes before it turned into a saturated mess. I dont know what happened, but the water beaded off for about 5 minutes before it started leaking through and I had to stash my camera. I guess for the pirce it's ok, but if you have expensive gear I would look for something a bit more reliable.Best Deals for Camera Rain Cover For Canon Models with lens combinations up to 13"
I bought this because I often shoot very close to breaking surf and all too often get salt water on my camera (not good!). I tried a rainsleeve from Op/Tech but it was too small for the camera and my hands and wouldn't work on a tripod. The reviews here convinced me to give this one a try and I'm glad I did. It's simple design is effective: I got a bit drenched today, but my camera stayed dry!I use this with a Nikon D5000 and an 18-200mm VR zoom (medium size lens). It fits the rig with room to spare. The bottom opening allows use with a tripod and the fabric doesn't block the infrared remote. In fact, I can now use the remote from behind as well as in front since the the fabric reflects enough of the beam to trigger the camera sensor.
In short, this product is not only functional, but very compact and easy to use. That means I'll actually carry it with the camera all the time.
Highly recommended.
Update, Sept 2011. I still love this cover. Don't leave home without it!
