One feature that I was not sure I would like was the zipper access through the top of the bag, I love it. It makes lens changes much easier, reach through the top, grab the other lens and make the swap. The top of the bag is nice and flat so it works well as a "desktop" to work off of.
I am able to carry all of my normal equipment with room to spare. I have a Canon 50d and a Flip Ultra HD with all the associated batteries and cables. I carry three lenses: the Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM Lens for Canon DSLR Cameras, Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS USM Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras, and the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM 1-to-1 Macro Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras. All have lens hoods, and the 70-200 and the macro have tripod rings. I carry good amounts of cleaning supplies such as alcohol swabs, lens pens, cleaning cloths, a Giottos AA1910 Medium Rocket Air Blaster (6.6), and similar items. I carry the rain cover at all times and all my battery charges and spare batteries plus a small flash (Canon Speedlite 270EX Flash for Canon Digital SLR Cameras). Even with all of this and other small items there is plenty of room. I am glad I did not go with the larger bag.
The strap for this bag is great, I recently took a trip to key west and had no issues with it sliding off or being to uncomfortable. I can also state categorically that the rain cover does it's job.
The only issue with this bag is that I do not think it comes with enough dividers for the inside. I had to take some out of my Kata HB-207 GDC Hiker Backpack for DSLR system or DV/HDV camcorder. (Insertrolly optional). Not a huge deal as I had the other Kata bag, which I really only use for hiking as it is way too big and bulky BUT will carry my laptop. I have found that I really prefer an over the shoulder bag bag to a backpack for normal use.
Overall, great bag and I am very pleased. I highly recommend.

Great product! Everything it is claimed to be. However, I have a Nikon 70-200mm lens (VR II), and it doesn't quite fit. It's about 1 cm to long. Still, I'm putting it in the bag.Best Deals for Kata KT PR-440 Medium Photo Reporter Bag
This bag has become my daily carry-all for my car. It easily holds my 7D with grip and 24-105mm lens mounted, plus 5 other lenses, my flash, my filters, and other assorted small stuff. I wouldn't want to walk too far with all this gear in it, but it sits flat on the floor of my car and is fine for toting stuff into buildings for shoots. The top zipper access works fine for taking the camera out of the bag until you add a battery grip. Then it isn't wide enough. I cannibalized another bag for extra separators. It could have used more. That small nitpick aside, this bag works very well for storage or as a daily transporter in your car.Just FYI, this bag may meet the carry-on limits of larger airplanes, but if you have to fly in a smaller regional jet, I doubt it will fit overhead or under the seat.
