When i unpacked and examined this thing, I just couldn't believe it would work. So I tested it as follows: (1) Sat it in the shower for 10 minutes; (2) Floated in a tub of water for 30 minutes; and (3) Held it underwater for 2 minutes. The only water that got in were a couple of stray drops that fell in when I opened the bag and some condensation that accumulated from the cold shower. For this reason I would recommend sealing any electronic gear in a ziplok bag for extra protection.
The bag comes with a foam sleeve that is large enough for any size point-and-shoot camera (I tested it with a dead Canon PowerShot S2is), but not a full-size DSLR. The camera and sleeve easily fit into a quart size bag.
On the negative side, the bag has no handle nor attachment points for a shoulder strap. It does come a belt that could be used as such, or to turn it into a waist pack but it's an awkward arrangement. That's basically why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.Take it with me paddling; holds my Nex 6 easily; don't worry about waves or anything getting in there at all.
