There's an inner pocket for the extra SD card. The shell is pretty sturdy. It has a shoulder strap but it's kind of useless for me.

The bad thing is the belt strap. It's not a durable synthetic type, but a thinner strap that won't last. I don't necessarily use it on my belt, but I do use it against my back pack so I can take a picture quickly while skiing or hiking without fumbling around looking for it.

I have what essentially amounts to a fanny pack for carrying small items, so I didn't want a full-fledged camera bag just wanted something hard on the outside that would protect my camera when I wanted to carry it around in the fanny pack. The camera in question in a Samsung WB750. To protect the screen, I added a Delkin 3.0 pop-up sun shade (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HB2TJ2/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00), which adds a little to the thickness of the camera. With the sun shade, my camera just barely fits inside this case. I don't think I could add an extra battery or even an extra memory card (without the pop-up shade, there would be room for either or both), but the fanny pack has a pocket I could put those things in.

The case has a loop on the back if you wanted to run a belt through it, and it comes with a shoulder strap (which you could probably use around your waist, which is exactly what I do with another small camera bag I have). It does seem to be hard on the outside, almost like a plastic shell covered in nylon, but I think it may be a hard foam. You're not going to be able to stand on it and not have your camera get smashed, but it should protect from things knocking into it (the hardness does not extend to where the zipper is, which goes around almost the entire case, so the two halves of the case can smush together and therefore smush your camera if you were really trying, so if you are prone to falling down on top of your camera bag or standing on it or playing baseball with it, you should probably find a case that is metal and has thick, protective foam on the inside).

Although I feel that this case does what I need it to do, I knocked it a star for the following two reasons: I wanted the outside to be harder, more of a molded plastic, though this is probably hard enough. Additionally, the inside is not soft and squishy there really isn't much of any layer of foam or soft protection inside the case. It's basically just a thin layer of fabric covering a hard interior.

The zipper pulls seem pretty good. This definitely is not a waterproof case due to the zipper construction (not that they made any claims otherwise). It would probably protect from a light sprinkle outside, but if you tried submerging it in water, it would fill up quickly.

The case is small, relatively rugged, and looks nice. For my particular needs, it does the trick.
