I have had this case now for about 6 months and I have to say that its a great case for my canon sx-230 camera. I always carry my camera with me and it has been on my belt for about the entire six months and the case shows no sign of wear (amazing). I work outside and I carry this to work with me and it is on my side even now as I type. It houses my camera and 2 spare batteries some lens wipes and an extra memory chip with room to spare. It is small enough to fit in my pocket too. Great case, highly recommended.

And don't even think about using the mesh bag to hold anything unless it is thin and will fit in the area not taken up by the camera lens. Edit: I cut out the mesh bag and the fit is much better. It doesn't feel like it is pressing on the lens nearly as much and what pressure there is is symmetrical and even. But why should someone have to cut out the bag? Now it is just a case. I didn't cut out the straps since they still hold the camera in place but I think the pocket style cases would be better.I got this to go with a Canon PowerShot SX230 HS because it was supposedly specifically for that camera. It isn't. Well, maybe it is but it isn't well designed.
There is a Velcro strap inside that is to hold the camera in place but it is sewn in where it partially covers the lens assembly. It will reach down to fasten over the bigger part of the camera body where the lens isn't, but then it is pulled at an angle and the Velcro doesn't completely engage.
If anything goes in the mesh enclosure, it should be something that is particularly small like an SD card case where it also doesn't interfere with the lens and you will need to make sure it doesn't slip to where it would interfere with the lens when you close it.
The finish band on the edge of the mesh is kind of thick and does interfere with the lens especially if you position the camera so that the Velcro band can be fastened. If you turn the camera around to where the mesh band doesn't ride across the lens, now the Velcro band will. If you don't use the band and let it ride behind the camera, now it is riding against the LCD display.
Even with nothing in the mesh bag and with the Velcro fastened to the side of the lens, I still fell that the finish band is putting too much pressure on the lens assembly. I don't know how much pressure it can take and closing the zipper isn't an ordeal indicating extreme stress, but it's still more pressure than I am willing to risk on such a delicate assembly.
None of the options are good except maybe cutting out the Velcro band and also the mesh bag. Then, you have enough clearance inside the case for an SX230 HS and the memory foam they brag about (very thin, by the way) can conform to the camera and protect it.
In short, I don't recommend this case and am looking for a different one. One that does adequately cushion and has an external pouch for things like memory cards and spare batteries. This absolutely will not accommodate a spare battery and some people (like me) like to have a spare battery available.
If people would like to see others opinions, it looks like this same case is available through another product page. The overall rating there is about 2.5 stars. I wish I had seen those reviews before I bought this one.
I hate to slam products because it monetarily affects someone, but so does selling a case that doesn't live up to the description where you have to go out looking again for a substitute and hassle with a return which isn't really worth it on a $10 item. I have better things to do.
