Love the size, the shape, the color and most of all, the fact that it is firm so that my camera has a good chance of surviving a fall on the floor!! I toss it into my handbag and it's small enough to fit nicely. The color stands out in my large, deep handbag so I can find it easily. Haven't dropped it yet, ...... we'll see~

I also like the clasp, so that I can attach it to the outside of my handbag if I want to. Zipper closure on both sides. This order came with a Screen Guard and a 4GB Memory Card. Nice!!

UPDATE May 2011: Still very fond of this bag, it has held up well after almost 2 years of fairly frequent use as a walk-around bag. In addition to fitting the Nikon D90 with 18-200 quite well, it can also carry (not together with the D90, but individually!) a Nikon D7000 mounted with either the Nikon 16-85mm (lens hood in position) or 70-300mm (with lens hood reversed).

Original review:

Just got this bag today, loaded it up, and here are my first impressions. To save you some reading, I like it and recommend it especially for the Nikon D90 with 18-200 Nikon lens.

Sometimes I want to carry minimal gear, which right now means the D90/18-200 combo. This setup fits nicely into this bag, WITH the lens shade in the normal position (you don't have to reverse the lens hood to fit the outfit into this bag). I also have a tripod plate permanently fastened to my camera, and it fits as well (Arca Swiss or Kirk Plate style). The strap (Nikon D90 strap) of the camera is collected over the back of the camera before I zip the lid/cover shut on this bag, and it all fits very nicely, just snug.

The bag is padded all the way around, the same way most Tamrac bags are, some kind of rubber pad enclosed in the surrounding material, and should protect the gear against most normal bumping or use.

I almost bought the next size smaller Tamrac bag (see ), which some users reported would also fit the D90 with the 18-200 lens, but I wanted to have a couple more, slightly larger pockets as this bag does.

I've bought several Tamrac bags over the years, and as before, construction, sewing and zippers look excellent, there is nothing "cheap" about it. I looked at similar bags of several brands for $10-$20. less (online only, no personal experience) but this one looked the best for my needs and I'm glad I got it (would have liked gray, but black is apparently the only color you can get).

The window pane mesh (where the batteries are shown spilling out in the stock photo) has velcro on it, so this pocket DOES seal shut. The other pockets in that front compartment are "open" but all these pockets are inside the main, front pouch when it is zipped shut. As shown in the photo, the 2 open pockets are each about big enough for a D90 battery; it sticks out about 3/4 inch, but OK. Or, each pocket is just big enough to contain 4 AA batteries in a plastic storage case.

I don't use the "memory/battery management" red flags you see in the photo, but they're not really in the way either.

The 2 side pockets are a little smaller than I'd hoped but I can cram a notebook, remote release, or extra batteries in them. Each is about 3.5 x 5.5 inches in size.

One good feature is that when the top lid is fastened with the buckle only (and not zipped shut) the camera can NOT fall out because of the flaps hanging over the sides and front. In other words, you do not have to zip the bag shut in order to secure the camera (I'll still zip the top lid when conditions permit, but it'll be handy at times to just have the buckle clasped).

There is a zippered compartment on the inside of the padded top lid, which is advertised as a place to put lens tissue. It is large enough that I stuck my small SD card wallet in there (4 SD cards), and also a small instruction manual for a remote control device I have. The pocket is about 3.5 x 6 inches in size, larger than you might guess, but only a thin layer of material separates it from the back of your camera when the lid/top is closed. Tamrac thoughtfully made a flap covering the zipper of this little pocket, so the zipper there will not scratch the back of your camera. Anyway, I found this pocket an unexpected bonus where I could cram some more stuff.

This bag has belt loops on the back, but will be heavy enough that this may not work well on a basic pants belt. There is a shoulder strap provided; it's pretty basic but is easy to unclip if you want it out of the way, or you can sling it over your shoulder. There's no padding in the strap, but it does have that grippy rubber lining to keep it from slipping off your shoulder.

So here's what's in the bag right now:

Nikon D90 with 18-200 lens, with lens hood in position.

A remote control (includes a time lapse device, so its larger than a basic remote).

Another remote control (wireless, google wireless D90 remote)

A Solmeta GPS unit for the D90

One set of 4 AA batteries (for another GPS or my Nikon flash units, which are carried separately).

2 or 3 D90 batteries, could probably get 4 or 5 in there somewhere, if needed.

4 SD cards in a wallet

pen and 3x5 notebook

Business cards

And a little room left over, but your water bottle, tripod, and 500mm lens will have to go elsewhere!

I had an older Tamrac bag that was always a bit tight with my Canon 50D and 18-200 or 55-250 lens. I debated getting the next smaller bag that this one, but figured that a little extra room is always good, plus I have ordered the Canon 7D which is slightly larger per this page

It has no problem with the 50D and 18-200/55-250 and I'm able to zip it shut if I'm worried about the elements. However, I almost always just clip the buckle shut, so if I don't zip it, those lens with the lens hood attached will fit ... so you just unclip and start shooting nice! One small negative is that the bag is "noisy" i.e. all those zippers "clang" around a bit as you walk with it.

Update: I shot a baseball game this evening and you don't really even hear the zippers when outside.

The second Tamrac bag I've purchased. The first one was a smaller version for a Digital Rebel XTi.

Needed a larger one for my 40D.

This one fits the bill. Holds my 40D with 28-135 lens attached(hood reversed), padded strap( folded), and still has room for a few accessories. You won't be disappointed.

Honest reviews on Tamrac 5625 Pro Digital Zoom 5 Case (Black)

I was looking for a bag for when I go hiking or wherever, when I just plan on taking along my walkaround lens. This bag fits the bill perfectly. I'm basing this fit on my Canon 50D and 24-70mm f/2.8 lens, which has a wider barrel than most lenses. Once the camera, lens and shoulder strap are all packed into the bag, there is only about a 1/2" of room. Nice snug fit and works perfectly. Room for my cell phone, keys and extra batteries, too. Bag is very well constructed.

I'd also like to add that I originally purchased the Tamrac 5684 / Zoom 4 bag. I returned it because I could barely zip it closed. It was a nice tight fit, but I just needed about an inch more room and that's exactly what this bag does. The 5684 would be perfect with this camera and the kits lens, but it didn't work for my needs.

I have gone through a lot of small camera bags trying to find just the right size and features for my needs. I had a smaller size of this same model that I used with my smaller Canon XTi and just barely with a 40d and a short lens, but when I got the Canon 7d I needed a bigger one. It took a lot of searching to find the same model but this one is it, and it works just fine. I think they got the number and arrangement of pockets and the zippers, latches and attachment rings just right on this one too. It currently holds my Canon 7d and 18-55 EF-S lens with hood, CF cards, lens cleaner and spare battery. It could handle a lens a little longer than that maybe the 24-105 lens, but not the larger zooms. I can clip it to my backpack straps to ride on my chest when the weather is more than I want my camera to be exposed to when hiking. My only complaintl is a trivial one: I wish I could have got it in gray instead of black because the black gets lost in the shadows of my car trunk or passenger side seat footwell where it often goes.

I like this case. It fits my Canon sx160 camera very well and it is a hard shell so it will protect the camera better than a soft-shelled case. It has a clip so you can attach it to a belt loop, etc. I also bought a camera strap for my camera, but the case won't allow the strap to be put inside it because the fit for the camera is too tight. I just let the strap stay out after I zip the case and I can sling it over my shoulder.

This is advertised for a Canon SX160 but doesn't fit for mine? It's at best an average hard case but NOT for the Canon SX160.

Best Deals for MegaGear Camera Hard case Black for Canon powershot SX150 SX160

Does NOT fit a Canon SX160IS...without modifications. And I'm not the first person to point that out yet the ad copy still says it will. BS. But I found a way to make it fit...very snugly. I removed the 2 elastic clam-shell straps and the mesh inner pouch. That gave just enough room to fully close both zippers. The camera will not move one iota once cinched inside. And that's what I wanted. I had no use for the cosmetic pieces I cut out with a simple snip of a scissors. And that's why I gave it the 3 star, It's OK, rating. So I'm posting this review to let other folks know that this MegaGear hard case WILL work for your Canon camera with a minor modification.

Honest reviews on MegaGear Camera Hard case Black for Canon powershot SX150 SX160

Thing is exactly as it is described. The inside has a mesh divider great for storing extra memory cards or cords. The clip thing is pretty sturdy.

Anything short of dropping your camera on concrete from over 15 foot high, having somebody drive over it, or someone stepping on it on purpose, this case will most definitely keep your camera safe.

This is a nice quality case, however it didn't fit the camera I have. I bought the Canon SX 160 IS camera. This case is too small for that model. Was a little misled because the ad said it fits the SX 160. I guess the difference is the IS MODEL. I returned the case with no problem.

The one and only review on this bag was enough to get me to purchase it for myself. I was a little worried with it coming out of China, but I received my bag in less than a week and I am in love with it! The canvas looks great, it's soft and it comes with two dividers so you can either hold your camera and a lens or three pockets for lenses if you like. There's plenty of pockets inside the bag and outside, so I can put my accessories, extra batteries, SD cards, charger and notebook in it together. I like the colors because they're neutral and go with almost anything I wear. The bag will not be as flat once you put your equipment inside of it, but it totally works for my Canon T3i and I have suggested this product to many friends now.

Considering how far the bag was traveling, I was impressed how quickly it arrived (ordered it on Monday and arrived on Friday that week). The bag looked great -sturdy, very comfortable to wear with nice padding on the wide strap, and best of all, looks nothing like a conventional camera bag but more like a nice looking purses. In fact, no one realized that it was a camera bag when I wore it and was quite surprised to know that I had my DSLR in there! It's a perfect bag if you want to take your camera everywhere for the perfect photo op, but don't want to lug around an ugly and bulky camera bag in addition to your normal purse. Like the other reviewers, I will be recommending this bag to all my friends!

FYI, I have a Nikon D90 and it fit everything from prime lenses to 24-70mm lens.

I was a little skeptical about buying this bag when I saw it had no reviews but was very happy when it came in the mail. The shipping was expensive but only because it's from Japan. It fit my Canon T2i and my 55-250 mm lens perfectly. It's stylish and amazing!!! Great choice in bag.

Honest reviews on Koolertron DSLR SLR Camera Canvas shoulder bag for Sony Canon Nikon

Aside from the unnecessary amount of packaging and padding for the shipment of a canvas bag, all is fantastic. Nice color, seems to be well made and isn't easily identifiable as a camera bag. Bear in mind there are significant gaps between the zipper strap and the interior compartment as well as every pocket flap where loads of spills can get in; ideal for casual dry walkabouts. This said, there is a thin layer of what appears to be water resistant material lining the bag; what isn't watertight is the actual construction of the pocketsthough no such claims were made by the manufacturer. While on the small side, this pack comfortably fits my nikon d5100 with attached 18-55 and 55-300 with pockets for small items. Not meant for carrying tripods, tulips, notebooks, etc. Small pack for casual excursions. All together; if it suits your purpose technically, it's a great bag.

I love this bag! Perfect for my DSLR with an "all purpose" 18-200mm lens attached. You know, roaming around the town, traveling, etc and you don't want to carry a lot. This is great. Room for extra batteries, a couple filters, and I use the side pockets for my wallet and phone, so no need for a purse. Plus, this is really cute and I get lots of compliments. No one knows my camera is inside, which is great. Even my husband doesn't mind carrying it (before mentioned traveling). Surprisingly well made, very durable zipper. 5 stars all the way.

AmazonBasics Sling Backpack for SLR Cameras (Black) Reviews

AmazonBasics Sling Backpack for SLR Cameras
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program

The AmazonBasics sling backpack for DSLR cameras is a no frills solution for taking a reasonable amount of photo gear with you when you don't want or need to lug your larger case with you. It's a great solution when you are hiking, skiing or just want a more compact way to take your essential camera gear with you.

The backpack is entirely black, no color accents or embellishment whatsoever. The backpack has a functional shoulder sling that allows you to pivot the pack to the front of your body for easy access to your camera gear when you need it. It's a fairly comfortable, sling backpack with adequate shoulder strap padding and an additional lower waist strap. There is a smaller zippered upper compartment with enough room for a good sized flash and room to spare for batteries, lens cleaning tools or maybe a PB&J for an extended hike. The main zippered compartment can be configured to your needs using a series of velcro pads of various sizes. There is also a velcro strap that can be used in whatever way you can figure out how to use it. Depending on the lenses you wish to carry and whether you want to carry the camera body with no lens attached, you can move the pads around to accommodate your needs.

I was easily able to fit my Nikon D300 with attached 80-200 f2.8 lens and flash in the main compartment, with a second 17-55 f2.8 lens in the smaller top compartment along with some other odds and ends.

The bottom of the pack has two rubber "feet" which protect the bottom nylon panel from wear and tear. However, the case is really designed as a backpack and will not reliably stand on its own when fully loaded. It's not intended to be a supportive pack that can sit upright on a floor.

Overall the pack seems reasonably well made and does provide a great way to carry a camera body, couple lenses, flash and assorted odds and ends with ease. I love it for when I'm hiking and don't want to carry a conventional camera bag with me. It's easy to swing the pack around to gain access to your camera when you need it. I do like I can carry a compact tripod or monopod on the outside of the backpack and the "hidden" pouch that tucks away to hold the tripod/monopod leg is a nice feature. The zippers seem beefy enough to withstand some good use and the quick release buckles on the straps function well.

I like the backpack and the price is just about right for what you are getting in my opinion.

UPDATE: 1/10/2013 If you're thinking this might be a bit too large for you, take a look at the recently released AmazonBasics Sling Backpack for SLR Cameras (Black)which I've reviewed here http://www.amazon.com/review/R3NGA4F96W7XXV

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Update: 12/2/2012 I'm still pleased with this bag. I had to go on a hike today and pack the following:

Canon 5D Mk III, 580EXII, 8-15mm lens, diffuser, speedlingt off-camera coiled cable, batteries, etc. It fit perfectly. Look at the photos.

Original review: I have a lot of camera bags. I have tried several different sling bags. The Manfrotto was terrible. The Case Logic was great. Now it's time to try out Amazon's version of the sling bag. I'll compare it with the Case Logic TBC-310 SLR Sling for Camera (Black) the bags are the same price, and basically the same size. If you're looking for a perfect sized sling bag, these are the two you'll probably be comparing.

Size: The Amazon Sling bag is about 15% larger and more rectangular in shape.

Shoulder strap: The Case Logic slides from the right, the Amazon from the left. This means the straps are over different shoulders. The Amazon has an extra clip that prevents the bag from shifting, but has to be unclipped before you can slide the sling.

Top pocket: Case Logic is deeper, but smaller. 3x6x5 deep basically the shape of a medium lens. Amazon is shallower, but larger: 6x7 inches. Depth it's angled. 2" at one end, 4 at the other. The Case Logic top pocket is ideal for a lens, the Amazon for a flash or accessories.

Main compartment: This is the major difference. The Case Logic can hold a DSLR with medium lens, say a 17-85 telephoto. It can't be adjusted. The Amazon compartment is totally configurable. Depending on how you configure it, you could have a DSLR with 200mm, flash and smaller lens. Or DSLR with 17-85, medium lens, large flash and accessories. The inner compartment is 9x11x7" deep. You get five different dividers, of various sizes. It comes with the dividers just put in at what seems to be a purposely useless configuration. There are also NO instructions, so you need to play around with varying configurations. On the Case Logic, the top flap opens up to reveal the main compartment. On the Amazon bag, the flap as larger but it will also open past the top and down the back. This way if you have created shelves with the dividers, you can access them without pulling things apart. There are snaps to prevent the flap from being opened too far, letting your expensive stuff from falling out. That is a feature I have not seen on any other sling bag.

Tripod holder: Case Logic: Two velcro side straps, you need to figure out a way to stop the tripod from sliding. Amazon: One cinch strap and a pocket for the bottom (this tucks away and is impossible to see at first.)

Other pockets: The Case Logic wins here. The back back has several small pockets. These could hold accessories, cards, batteries and more. The Amazon just has an elastic mesh pocket. Not much use for anything.

Base: Neither bag will stand up on it's own. The Amazon has two rubber "bumpers".

Overall quality. It's difficult to say one is better than the other. The Amazon carrying handle is nicer, but the Case Logic material is *slightly* better The Amazon bags liner is not completely sewn in it looks like about 2" was missed in production this is at the corners of the large flap. That's pretty sloppy, and a place that will tear easily. The Amazon bag has a much better way of handling the tripod. The padding on the Case Logic shoulder strap is a little thicker, and it has an extra accessory loop. The differences really are minor.

Which bag is better for you? If you're using a DSLR with a smaller lens, the Case Logic is perfect. Need to use a larger lens, or carry more stuff? The Amazon bag is the better choice.

Best Deals for AmazonBasics Sling Backpack for SLR Cameras (Black)

Pros

Build quality on this bag seems good.

Zippers work smoothly.

Sling is comfortable and has adequate adjustability.

The bright interior color makes it easy to find small items.

Nice pocket areas.

Tripod strap with pouch at bottom in a zippered area

for one of the tripod legs.

Easy access to camera without removing sling. Pack will pivot to front.

Fair Price

Cons

The way it comes (see photo) there is no way of fitting my DSLR.

The dividers could offer some better options. Need a few others with more than one 90deg.

It will be a tight fit to get all of my needed equipment in this size. Wish it was a little larger

It will not stand vertical on its own without leaning it against something.

Update Feb 27, 2012

I've had a chance to use this sling backpack for some all day events. I like it. It works once I figured out how to place the sling. It fits around the left arm and over the head to the right shoulder. This allows the bag to be pivoted to your left front to allow access to the camera through the backpack's side compartment. This work well.

I also found that the the tripod strap on the side of the backpack also has a zip area at the bottom of the pack. It contains a pouch for the tripod leg to fit into. This stabilizes the tripod and holds it firmly to the side.

I'm leaving the 4 star. The main reason, the bag just fits the Canon 60D with the Canon 18-200mm F/3.5 lens. I would have liked just a tad bit more room. Also, the bag will not stand vertical on its own without leaning against something. The lower pads on the bottom are not flat enough to hold it.

Overall, I find it works for me, and it is very comfortable to wear even all day activities. I would recommend it.

Honest reviews on AmazonBasics Sling Backpack for SLR Cameras (Black)

This is one great bag for the aspiring photographer. Has plenty of room for my Nikon D5000 with 55-200mm lens and battery grip, 14-24mm Nikon lens, 18-55mm Nikon lens, 3 batteries, a point and shoot camera, ipod, cords, plugs, releases, a flip camcorder and extras. The only things I would like to see added are 1. a bladder pocket for water. Also on the opposite side of the main opening another pocket for some extra gear or snacks moving the tripod holder to the back of the bag. Over all the quality of the bag is way above price range stitching is excellent and there are no extra threads or threads that are sticking out. Buckles are nice big heavy duty. The bag offers plenty of padding for travel. It also has a hidden pocket on the side for holding a tripod leg. This is a great bag for you to keep all your photo gear in one spot. If you need a slightly bigger bag to pack your camera gear and are on a budget this is the bag for you.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have a DSLR and was pleased to find this as an alternative to the large camera backpack "everything holder" I usually bring to family gatherings and on campouts. It is fairly roomy with plenty of room for a Canon T2i with attached 24-70 f2.8 zoom lens which is my walking around lens. There is space also for a smaller point-and-shoot camera along with a case for additional SD cards, a flash, etc.

The styling of the bag is utilitarian with the top rather flat and not tapered like other slings I have seen advertised. It seems solidly made and includes straps for securing it around oneself a bit confusing at first since there are no instructions but fairly easy to figure out.

Overall, I am pleased with this unit and would recommend it at the price point.

This is an excellent bag pack for my needs. (taking nature photos on a casual basis)

Very clever design of putting two zipper positions one for quick grab of your camera at top & one that goes "all the way around" for accessing other lenses & manuals.

Either ways, I am sure that pick-pocketer of the world would have a hard time with it. XD

Camera compartment is on top and a little bit tight for DSLR camera, but you don't want there to be loose & things bounce around anyway. Tons & tons of pockets, sometime I lose where I put things!

This is not just a cheap bag, it's really well designed & proportioned as a camera backpack, unless you are going up to the Himalayan or something...

Again, this is NOT the only backpack you would bring to climb up the mountain, but you can still carry some emergency power bars & a bottle of water, etc. Usually, I carry the heavy load, & my wife would carry this. Since I take the pictures, it's perfect anyway!!

One minor point was that it came with unbearable moldy smell (damp storage facility?,) but after putting it out on the sun for a few days, it quickly went away...

Whether you are an active person or not, I recommend this school backpack-type camera bag, especially it doesn't really "scream out" that I am carrying 1000+ dollars worth of equipment.

Trust me, it's a good thing when you are out in the cruel world...

Perfect high quality cloths that do just exactly what they need to. I use them for my glasses, and I have one with me at all times. Great product!

Honest reviews on ColorYourLife Microfiber Cleaning Cloths for Apple Ipad, Tablets

These microfiber cleaning cloths are literally a lifesaver. Not only do they clean my glasses without scratches, but on a recent trip to a Latin American dictatorship they saved my life.

A small smudge on my lenses had been bothering me while I sat outside in the hot, thick air at a downtown cafe. As I reached down to my brown leather satchel to retrieve a microfiber cleaning cloth, gunfire a loud tat-tat-tat erupted. After it was over I saw the bullet holes where my head had been moments before. Literally life saving.

TLDR: basic, serviceable cleaning cloths that do the job.

I bought this pack to help with installing window tint. I really like that they come individually sealed in plastic packaging. This leads me to believe that they are definitely lint free so I can feel confident that when I use them to clean windows prior to installing tint that everything will go smoothly.

They are large enough to get the job done as well, and at a great price with fast shipping. I definitely recommend this product for just about any application that requires lint free cloths.

I had a panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS8 (red) digital camera. I wanted a case for it. Then I searched, and found the "rooCASE (Med EVA Red) Hard Shell Carrying Case with Memory Foam for Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS8 Digital Camera ", and thought it perfected match my camera. So I ordered it. When I opened it after I received, and I found this case did not fit my camera because it is too small. It should be for another brand's digital camera. I hope the firm should put the correct description for this product, and don't mislead consumers anymore. Thanks.

The service was great but I wasn't that impressed with the "stick on" skin for the price. It looks nice on the bloggie but it's difficult to get all the pieces to light up so there are no gaps. Recommend the seller as far as their quick shipping.

Love this product, fits my powershot SD1000 extra mem card! I threw away the shield looks ridiculous and useless

I purchased the Slim version and while it is smaller than the non-Slim version, I was disappointed by the exposed bolt in the interior of the case that holds the carabiner on the outside. In the case's interior, the corrugated bolt is exposed and not covered or padded, allowing it to scrape against the camera and potentially cause scratches. Definitely a design flaw in my opinion, as a case is supposed to protect your precious camera, not cause harm to it.

This 'Slim Version Kroo' is definately absolutely cannot be made for Canon Powershot because this thing is like a dinosaurs compare to my canon powershot SD890 and SD780! I got it in green and the color is nice but that's about it. Anyways I won't be using it because I'm embarrassed. The case is so freaking big compare to my camera that I mind as well have it toss around in my purse. WASTE OF MONEY!!!

Honest reviews on Slim Version Kroo Camera case for Canon Powershot SD Series

This case has made it through some pretty gnarly road trips. My canon digital camera is protected by the hard case. Love the little velcro belt that is inside as well as the pocket. The screen protector kit was a nice added bonus. It was not hard to figure out at all.

I bought this for my new Nikon S8100 camera. It fits the camera nicely, however I must be careful when holding the case because the camera can accidentally turn on while in the case if I hold it wrong. It hadn't thought about this being a problem when I chose the case. Maybe the hard case would have been a better choice.rooCASE Neoprene Sleeve (Red) Carrying Case for Canon ELPH 300 HS Digital Camera

Overboard Waterproof SLR Camera Bag Protective Case

From the exterior, the bag appears to be a small dry bag commonly used in kayaking. Further inspection reveals the bag contains a softer nylon inner bag lining that protects the camera from the tougher pvc material from which the bag is made. The bag is large enough to store one SLR camera with one small to mid sized lens attached. It also has a pocket on the interior for a few smaller items. The pocket does not seal and could possibly allow objects to escape into the interior of the bag. This bag would protect your camera from water but offers no protection from other damage since it lacks any padding. My only complaint is the bag could be a little bit longer to allow for a larger lens and the interior pocket does not seal.

I had high hopes for this roll top bag for protecting a D-SLR with zoom with a Class 3 waterproof rating (brief submersion). The Overboard bag size would work fine for my use but the roll down top does not seal correctly. Almost all roll down dry bags are Class 3 rated and I've used roll down dry bags for over 30 years of sea kayaking and canoeing. I know how to seal these bags properly and even 4 rolls did not seal the Overboard SLR bag. Test it yourself, open up the bag fully to fill with air, roll it 3 or 4 times and clip the buckle, and then gently squeeze the bag. That sound you hear is air leaking out, which means water can get in. Normal class 3 drybags will hold air if you squeeze them, the Overboard SLR case will not.

I bought this case for a 7 day rafting trip on the Green River in Utah. During the trip we never turned over or dunked the camera bag, but it got splashed in white water rapids numerous times. The material is not only water proof, but is thick enough that I felt comfortable carrying it with my SLR on rough hikes up rocky cliff faces in search of petroglyphs.

The winds were sometimes ferocious, actually blowing sand thru the mesh in my tent. Again the case provided great protection.

The case is light and sturdy, easy to seal to protect SLRs from water and blowing sand, plus when hanging open from my shoulder the camera is protected from getting banged on rock faces but is very easy to pull out for quick shots. There is also a mesh pocket inside the case for extra batteries,SD cards, or even a backup pocket camera, tho I would pad these so they don't rub against the camera. The case will hold my Nikon D90 with 70-300 lens along with my G-9 Canon.

Although I have a couple of other cases for my SLR including expensive heavily padded ones, this will be the bag I will use for future trips of any type. Also it will fit in my day pack which I use as a carry on for air travel, which is not possible with my other cases.

I recommend this case and would buy it again.

Honest reviews on Overboard Waterproof SLR Camera Bag Protective Case

Works great took it jet skiing and it kept everything bone dry. If you are using a telephoto you will probably need the larger size. I used with an E-5 and 50-200 lens and it just fit with the ability to roll the top twice (not 4 times as recommended).

Only a 3 hour hike in the middle of a HUGE rain system over the Hawaiian islands has phased it so far. Even then it was just humidity from the shear amount of moisture in the air that crept through. Funny thing is when the sun finally came out, to dry off my camera I ended up putting it back in the bag on the beach with the case open, and due to the rubbery material it gets kind of warm, I used the bag itself to warm up the camera and heat any residual moisture out of my camera. So basically, it dried my camera too.

The case is an open top but you roll it down and then fold it over.

After a week of use I did find the stitching kind of annoying as it sort of frays and I ended up trimming the wisps off with a small pair of scissors. Didn't seem like it was coming apart necessarily, just that it was manufactured that way.
