I chose this bag as my everyday commute bag and my sometimes camera bag. after watching the videos on Kata's website i saw what the bag was designed for, then decided what i could use it for. i needed a bag for when i am out shooting and carrying photography gear but more so i needed an everyday commute bag. it works well on my frame as i am 6'0", 190 lbs and have wide shoulders.

gear a use on a regular basis... 13" macbook pro, power supply, 2.5" external hard drive, nikon D5000 with 18 105mm lens, 50mm prime lens, ipad w/charger (only when not carrying laptop, i do not know how i would carry both), stainless steel bowl for breakfast cereal, some fruit/yogurt/snacks, stainless water bottle, leatherman, pens, sharpies, small multi screwdriver, small notebook, packable raincoat.

some quick thoughts on this bag:

doesn't "look" like a camera bag.

lots of padding for all my gear.

holds larger than my 13" macbook probably, can handle a 17" though it suggests 15".

top and bottom separation to the main compartment which is removable if you want to use one large section. you would lose the camera protections if you use it this way.

lower compartment is split to the sections made for a camera with lens as well as two more lenses or accessories.

upper compartment does not have separators. i have used this section to carry my lunch and snacks to work on a daily basis.

small upper section for pens, screwdrivers, etc.

plenty of loops for carabiners to attach whatever.

two upper handle, one at the very top and one slightly on a 45ยบ.

side zip for you tripod legs and several straps for you to strap the upper portion of the tripod to one of the upper loops.

elastic bottle holder / tripod holder which perfectly fits my daily stainless steel water bottle.

chest strap and waist strap for stabilization. shoulder straps and back are well padded, this bag is very comfortable to wear. i strap it across my chest for optimal stabilization when walking 20-30 minutes to work.

comes with a raincoat for the bag... i dont like this feature for everyday use, though i understand its purpose if i was a photographer in the field. the bag holds up pretty well in light rain, i have yet to be in a downpour with it, though summer is coming... i may need that raincoat. (i use it as extra padding for my camera).

some drawbacks to this bag:

hard to carry books while carrying a laptop if you keep the upper and lower sections separated. works fine if separator is removed and not carrying a camera.

not rated as waterproof (as some of my previous commuter bags were).

bulky because of all the extra padding.

generally no room for spare clothes, etc.

would be 5 stars if more than one of the following...

was waterproof.

had heavier duty zippers.

had a section inside for some papers without jamming them in with the laptop.

had more small, quick access, external zip pockets.

had a hidden pocket of some sort.

well worth the price for a camera / commute bag.

there are better options for a pure commute bag.

My expectations from this bag were: It should work as a regular commute bag without the insert. With the insert it must hold a laptop and a camera and some lenses, allowing easy access to the camera. I tried this bag, but was unhappy and in the end returned it and got a Tenba Small Messenger instead.

Pros and Cons: It is very spacious, even with the photo-insert. The bag feels very nice on the back, and the straps are very comfortable. A tripod attaches to the bag very nicely. Build quality is excellent, with the exception of the separator between the lower and upper halves and some of the zippers, which are of poor quality. Also, without the photo insert, the floor of the bag is very flimsy (which to my mind should be the most sturdily built surface). This negates its use as a laptop-friendly bag ready to take rough treatment. The Kata Bumblebee DL-210 doesn't work very well as a camera bag either, because taking the camera out is an absolute pain. You HAVE TO set the bag down horizontally to retrieve the camera.

If you just want a commute backpack (which is what you get on removing the photo insert) you wouldn't buy this bag. It is overpriced and slightly flimsy for that purpose. Similarly, if you want a bag that allows easy access to your camera, and has space for other stuff this doesn't work very well either.

The only way I can see this bag being useful (and justifying its pricetag) is if someone wants a very comfortable camera+laptop bag with very good padding, and the ability to hold a tripod, but is willing to sacrifice easy camera access.

I have had is bag for almost 6 months and love it. I store diapers, snacks, wipes, and toys in the top compartmet. In the padded camera section I always have my nikon digital slr with an extra lens and charger. Depending where we are goingIi slip my ipad with otterbox case in the laptop sleeve with plenty of room to spare. There are plenty of pockets for sunscreen, water bottles, or a spare outift for my son. The tripod straps are perfect to add any extra pair of shoes, jacket, or shopping cart cover. There are a few stiched webbing loops on one side perfect to add a few clips for extra. I haven't been disappointed yet carrying this around an aquarium, museum, or the beach with my family and still have my arms free to carry my son. Truly an all around fantastic bag. I read a lot of review before settling on this bag.

Update (2013-05-25):

It would be wrong of me to not state here any additional observations/experiences noted after the previous review was written. So here goes:

1. In the main compartment I was able to squeeze my Canon 5D Mark II with the Canon 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L lens attached to it. I used the top compartment to hold the additional lenses as well as filters, etc.

2. With the Canon 50 f/1.4 lens attached, I was able to fit that and the Canon 24-105 f/4L OR the Canon 16-35 f/2.8L into the main camera compartment. If any other lens was attached, the fit would have been really tight and this would make it difficult to remove the camera quickly from the bag. If any other of my lenses are attached, I simply don't place additional lenses in that compartment.

3. It was noted that the weight distribution improves with added weight AND a tighter strap adjustment. It does not feel as awkward to carry around as it did with less weight.

I am still not impressed with the zips these are simply not robust enough given the preciousness of the intended contents. The bag I believe is still overpriced, but I have upgraded the rating to three (3) stars (up from two stars) given what was stated above.

Original Review:

I have had this bag for approximately four (4) months now. I have a Canon 5D Mark II and four (4) lenses and wanted a small knapsack to carry less gear around. Attached to the camera is the Carry Speed strap I got for it (http://www.amazon.com/Original-Carry-Speed-FS-Pro-Camera/dp/B0093A3N5C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1367997084&sr=8-2&keywords=carry+speed) so this adds to the bulk of the equipment when stowing it away.

I bought this bag from Amazon.com I am not from the US, so I did not get to see it in a store or somewhere else prior to making the purchase. I had looked at several videos and photos of the bag in making my decision. The transaction was smooth with Amazon, not a problem.

PROS:

1. The bag is a small and lightweight knapsack.

2. The idea of a separate compartment for miscellaneous items is nice and appreciated.

3. Side pockets are convenient.

4. The weatherproof cover is nicely sized for the bag. The bright yellow colour of that cover is good for when walking in dark places or along the roadway.

5. The straps to secure the bag around the chest and waist are easily tucked away when not in use.

6. The laptop compartment is decent. When my laptop is not in the bag, I am able fold and stow my jacket away in there very nicely.

7. The padding is sufficient for my camera needs but because the camera is at the base of the bag, I expected more padding at the very base.

CONS:

1. The straps need to be adjusted so that the bag is high on your back the top of the bag needs to be just about at the shoulders. If any lower, the base of the bag pivots against my lower back and this is very uncomfortable. FYI: I am six feet tall for a shorter person, this adjustment may not be an issue.

2. The zips are not very sturdy. And because the camera is at the base of the bag, I usually secure the zips together to ensure that they would not separate and the camera fall out. But given it is a tight fit as I mentioned before, this is not highly likely. It still is a concern of mine, however.

3. I can only carry the camera body with one lens attached (usually the 24-105 f/4L or the 50 f/1.4) in the designated compartment. Any additional lenses would need to be stored in another compartment; else it is a very tight fit and it becomes difficult to pull out/stow away the camera easily. Do recall that I have that Carry Speed strap installed so this would take up some room.

4. No clip to hold a key ring.

5. Personally, I do not like how the weight is distributed in this bag. The design intent is really good (having the camera at the base of the bag) but there is a lot left to be desired in terms of the final result. This bag feels heavier than it otherwise should. By comparison, I have another knapsack to carry ALL my gear in (the Lowepro Vertex 200 AW Backpack) and this Lowepro bag does not 'feel' much heavier on my back despite the additional weight being noteworthy. The strap adjustment for that bag helped a lot with that.

Overall, I think that it is a decent bag to carry two lenses (one attached to the camera body). I also think that it is a bit overpriced given the cons stated here. If it was closer to $80 to $90 USD or so then I would have given it three (3) stars.

This is my first Tamrac DSLR Bag as I have purchased others by Quantaray and Tenba. This product is very good and works well for my new Nikon D90 with MB-D80 Battery Handgrip. I have the 18-200mm VR Lens attached and can even store a Nikon SB-400 Flash in it's case in the nose of the bag with the camera in place as well. Very good product and will buy other Tamrac products in the future.

I was looking for a camera bag for my digital SLR which has a 18-135mm zoom lens. This bag is the perfect fit with available ocmpartments for memory cards, extra batteries, and lens care equipment. Tamrac's quality is top notch including the carrying strap. I highly recommend this bag for short trips when one camera and lens are needed.

Best Deals for Tamrac 5627 Pro Digital Zoom 7 Camera Bag (Black)

I bought this bag when I upgraded my Canon 30D to add a 24-70 mm L class lens. It's a perfect fit. I owned the smaller version of this bag, which held my 30D plus 17-85 mm lens, and loved the compact fit. The bag carries well and has an unobtrusive (i.e. no big brand tags) but stylish black trim (I think it's also available in grey). So once again, it's not a bag that screams "camera". (I really like the generally toned down style of most Tamrac products). I like the zipper arrangement too .. granted, it does take some time to take out the camera but this is more than compensated by the added security of not allowing someone to reach in and remove something. You can also carry the bag unzippered with the camera straps out and hanging over your shoulder, which allows for instant access but keeps the camera protected against bumps etc. The front pocket is not that big (thankfully), and will take extra cards, a battery, cleaning brush, and a cell phone.

Honest reviews on Tamrac 5627 Pro Digital Zoom 7 Camera Bag (Black)

I took the long route to this bag and by that I mean I purchased a few other bags that were stated to hold DSLR's with battery grips but sadly they did not. So I was a little leery when I ordered this bag for fear this would work out similarly. Fortunately the bag fit my camera w/ grip and tripod quick release perfectly! I have a D7000 w/ grip and a D800 (yet to have grip) as well as a lot of other gear (tripod, light gear, multiple lenses, etc.) so I was not looking for an "all purpose" bag rather what I wanted was something to protect my camera when it was in the bag with all my other gear. This bag works perfect for this purpose. I'm not really sure why I didn't buy a Tamrac bag in the first place because I've used Tamrac products in the past and they've always been excellent. I love their lens bags and if my 14-24mm and 24-70mm lenses didn't already come with a nifty Nikon lens bag, I would have Tamrac lens bags for them as I do for my 70-300mm.

So if you're looking for a bag to protect your camera/battery grip and tripod quick release then this is the bag for you!

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Tamrac 5627 Pro Digital Zoom 7 Camera Bag (Black)

I purchased this to accommodate my Pentax K5 + Battery Grip, and it is sized perfectly for that purpose. My biggest lens is a 55-300 mm, and the length of this bag just accommodates that mounted to the camera + the camera strap. If I had a bigger lens, I'd probably need the next larger bag.

Unfortunately, I feel that for a "professional" holster it doesn't really exceed in quality of the Lowepro Holster I had for my camera sans grip. I somewhat expect a professional bag like this to have some type of internal frame to support the camera, and this one doesn't' have that; the Lowepro holster (not professional) did.

The bag is large. While my camera fits nicely in the bag, I can't help but feel the bag is huge. I guess it makes you look professional, but I don't like to stick out as a photographer when I am out and about.

The shoulder strap is ok, and the metal clips for them are nice. The connections feel much better than the other holster I've referred to. The cover zips shut and snaps down to the base of the bag. It definitely feels like it will provide nice weather protection, but this makes for a very large cover that is difficult to open out of the way when trying to quickly draw out your camera. This would be better if the cover hinged away from the user. One can wear it over the shoulder to allow that use, but I like using the belt loops for stabilization while hiking and that prevents a backward use and a more convenient open away from the user loading.

The front pocket is fine. It isn't anything terribly special. The flags can be useful for marking used cards or batteries but they definitely shouldn't be a deciding factor in choosing the bag. The loops on the side are nice for attaching some of Tamrac's accessory pouches for carrying an extra lens or flash.

Overall, I recommend this bag if you are carrying a camera with a grip or a professional full frame body. Anything smaller, I'd move down a size. The bag is too big for a non-gripped camera.

Application is as easy as other small size invisible shield. price is outrageous as any other zagg shield $15 for a piece of transparent film.

All these I knew and accepted at the time of purchase. But the fact that size is not perfect is unacceptable for such an expensive product.

How hard is it to measure the screen and make the template the right size? How come they were able to make a fairly well fitted one for the iphone but not for this camera? A shame. 5 stars for the material quality, one star off for price and one for the small size (at least 2 mm too small).

I use it with the canon Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 4x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD (Silver)

First of all the zippers work perfect.

The case has been very well designed.

Not to big,not to small

The keyring loop is very strong, hook it on bags, belt loops, backpacks, your dog's collar, anywhere!

You won't have to be taking your belt off and on all the time...

The semi hard sides protect the lens and the screen very well.

It is made so the camera won't just fall out to the ground even when all the way unzipped.

Very well made and less than $10.00.

Zippers do not rub camera when taking it out and putting in.

Mesh interior pocket for extra battery, sd card.

I use with a carabiner, so case can be clipped to your belt loop, travel bag or backpack.

If you have any questions I will try to answer them.

I don't have to much to add to the previous review (Campjeep). They went out of stock on the black one when I ordered mine and offered me a discount on the grey version and actually it was a better choice to go with a sliver PowerShot SD1300IS that I had also bought. This case was definitely made for this camera, don't by a generic case when you can get this one.

I bought this case to protect a new Sony camera on a 3-week trip to Europe it worked perfectly and protected the camera very well. Design and construction are just right. Buyers should realize the case doesn't open all the way and the camera is pulled out past the zipper, so it's a good idea to put a screen protector on the display to prevent scratches, which I did.

This is an excellent bag pack for my needs. (taking nature photos on a casual basis)

Very clever design of putting two zipper positions one for quick grab of your camera at top & one that goes "all the way around" for accessing other lenses & manuals.

Either ways, I am sure that pick-pocketer of the world would have a hard time with it. XD

Camera compartment is on top and a little bit tight for DSLR camera, but you don't want there to be loose & things bounce around anyway. Tons & tons of pockets, sometime I lose where I put things!

This is not just a cheap bag, it's really well designed & proportioned as a camera backpack, unless you are going up to the Himalayan or something...

Again, this is NOT the only backpack you would bring to climb up the mountain, but you can still carry some emergency power bars & a bottle of water, etc. Usually, I carry the heavy load, & my wife would carry this. Since I take the pictures, it's perfect anyway!!

One minor point was that it came with unbearable moldy smell (damp storage facility?,) but after putting it out on the sun for a few days, it quickly went away...

Whether you are an active person or not, I recommend this school backpack-type camera bag, especially it doesn't really "scream out" that I am carrying 1000+ dollars worth of equipment.

Trust me, it's a good thing when you are out in the cruel world...

I bought this pack a couple days before my trip to Turkey. I had a 15" MacBookPro, Canon 30d, 17-55/2.8 attached, 70-200/4, 30 1.4, battery chargers/power adapters, Gorillapod SLR, filter cases, cleaning clothes and solution, etc. All the stuff photo enthusiasts take on long trips. Overall this pack performed fantastically.

Pros: Despite the previous reviewers comments, I found the Vertex 200 to be very comfortable when it was completely adjusted. But to adjust it for maximum comfort I tightened all the straps very tight. Between the waist strap, shoulder straps and the chest strap, I thought it was about as comfortable as any other way for me to carry that much gear without being a roll-bag. I like that the zippers are water-proof even though I never had to test that feature. The top handle is sturdy and comfortable when the bag is off.

It's well padded and comes with many re-configureable velcro compartment walls for the interior. Shoulder straps are also very padded and comfortable when the waist and chest strap are fastened.

Cons: The laptop shouldn't be in the front flap. I'm not sure I understand the design decision of putting one of the heavier items in the whole pack on the front flap that requires lifting to get to the contents. Then when you want to fully open the pack, you have to make sure your laptop encased in the flap has a flat surface to rest upon. You certainly can't fling it open with reckless abandon.

I agree with the previous reviewer that the laptop placement also tends to make the bag tippy. Luckily my MBP doesn't weigh very much, but I can imagine if my wife's hp 15" laptop were in there it would be more of a problem. On top of that, it levers the weight of the computer further away from the body's center of gravity when being worn.

Conclusion:

The laptop placement and the somewhat useless expandable pockets on the side are the only things preventing me from giving this bag 5 stars. It is obviously very sturdy and protective. It performed great and I walked quite far with it without pain. A considerable feat for someone with bad knees like me.

If I were making the choice again I might look at the Kata backpack more closely as they decided to put the laptop closest to the body of the wearer. But I also preferred the subdued look of this bag.

Bottom line: a sturdy well-built pack that could use some design improvements.

After obsessing over camera packs I chose the Lowepro Vertex 200 and brought it to Boston for a 5 day photoshoot. It was loaded down with a Canon Rebel body, 17-40 lens, 50mm lens, small tripod, flash, 14 inch laptop and various accessories. Total weight 25.6 lbs (according to airport scale)

For reference, I'm an avid backpacker and have tried on and purchased many high-end packs before.

What I like: It's stylish and built like a tank. (but weighs as much as one) Feel confident your gear will be safe inside. There are dozens of pockets and it is very customizable. Sealed zippers are a nice touch, usually found only on high-end technical packs.

Complaints: The accessory pockets on the front and inside are not wide enough for the manuals. The outer side pockets are not good for much either, I normally stick a water bottle in there. The laptop sleeve is positioned at the front of the bag, which makes the pack very tippy. It would be more stable tucked next to your back.

My biggest complaint is the harness. Due to excessive flight delays at Boston Logan, I wore this pack for 3 or 4 hours walked a mile or two. By the end of the day, my shoulders and back were killing me. Lowe makes some excellent packs for backpackers, which is why I was so surprised at the crappy suspension. It just hangs on your back.

Maybe I'm spoiled by my Atmos 50 by Osprey Packs. I've packed 35 pounds and it feels great. At $229, I expect more.

Best Deals for Lowepro Vertex 200 AW Backpack

I bought this pack just before a 3 week trip to Patagonia. It had no problem carrying all my photo gear and laptop for the trip. Overall it's a good pack, can use a lot of improvement in the comfort area.

This pack, as all backpacks do, suffers from the "take off the pack, put it on the ground, get out your stuff" problem, but that's unavoidable with a backpack. On the other hand, the nice thing about the pack is that the quick access zipper pouches are very nice. All of your batteries, memory cards and filters are very accessible. This is about as good as it gets with a backpack.

The major drawback to this pack I found was that it's not comfortable to wear, particularly on longer hikes. Lowepro is known to make solid, comfortable packs but this is not one of them. A friend and I both had the pack and despite all the adjustment straps we couldn't get the load to distribute comfortably. In fact, in both of our cases, the shoulder straps buckled right where they met the backpack. The pack just didn't fit correctly.

Honest reviews on Lowepro Vertex 200 AW Backpack

I won't go in to too much of a review of the useful aspects of the 200 other than to say for my needs it's great. I love the organizational possibilities, the high level of protection and the weather proof zippers and rain cover. A lot of great attention to detail with this pack.

What I want to focus on is being 6'4" tall and needing a pack that carries well on my back. I tried the Vertex 100 and with the shoulder straps fully extended the waistband still hit me above my naval, by several inches! All I needed was a pair of PeeWee Herman pants and I'm ready to go cover a golf tournament!

The added two inches in length of the 200 made all the difference. The 300 would probably be perfect for fit but the 200 is better for travel as a carry on piece and also to hold my current photo kit. The shoulder straps are well padded and comfortable as is the waist belt. There is a sternum strap to hold the should straps in place and when properly adjusted the pounds disappear as I carry it.

One other feature I really like is the tripod carrying possibilities. The best is down the middle in the back but you can also carry it on either side to maintain easier access to the main compartments but depending on your tripod this may make the load off balanced too much.

From a tall guy, I love this pack.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Lowepro Vertex 200 AW Backpack

First, the good:

It's plenty of room to accommodate most of your gear. I particularly fit the following equipment:

1 Pentax K10D with the battery grip attached

1 Pentax SMC DA* 50-135mm f/2.8 with the hood on (attached to camera)

1 Sigma 400mm 5.6

1 Pentax SMC-M 50mm f/2

1 Pentax DA SMC 18-55mm

1 Pentax DA SMC 50-200mm

1 Vivitar 2X Teleconverter

3 UV/PL filters (67mm)

1 Sakar flash

And there's space for more; however, I consider that there's room for improvement:

Laptop compartment is in the front of the backpack. Meaning that if you lay down the backpack to access your camera and have a laptop in it, you'll have to deal with the "heavy" top as your laptop is in the front flap. Many manufacturers place this compartment in the back (the part that is against you when using the backpack)

I wish the pockets meant as filter holder in the front/left part of the backpack would have been elastic. I have a couple of 67mm filters in their cases and even though the pockets are big, they are not big enough to fit the cases.

-I wish the top part of the backpack would have had a "quick access" system (with zippers or Velcro) to access your camera. This is just a personal observation!

I wish it would have more external pockets, as there's space to incorporate those.

Overall, I like this backpack really much. It is very comfortable and feels very well constructed. My gear feels very safe in it. Its "all weather" construction is a plus.

I'm really pleased with this case. No, it's not real leather. But for the price you get a great looking retro-style case that protects the camera against the knocks of everyday carry. I like that the bottom half stays on the camera at all times. It protects the bottom and bottom front half of the camera, even when the top is detached for shooting. It also provides a very secure purchase on an otherwise slippery camera. With the bottom half attached, you won't feel the need for a third party stick-on raised grip to make the camera more holdable.

Downsides. You have to remove the bottom half from the camera to remove the batteries and SD card. This doesn't bother me at all, but I know it bugs some people. Just be aware of this. A bigger qualm, IMO, is that if you use the case's strap loops to attach your strap, the strap will abrade the camera's finish over time. That's because the loops are located at the upper edge of the bottom case. Once you remove the top cover in order to shoot, the upper half of the camera body is now exposed and the strap can rub against it.

This isn't a flaw of this particular case, but just about any case that has a lower half with strap loops and a detachable upper shell.

My solution was to forego the case's strap loops all together. Instead, I screwed a Blackrapid FastenR-3 to the tripod socket and attached a wrist strap to that. Another option is to use the little strap loops built into the RX100 body itself, and to use the little spaghetti strings that fit into those loops.

Also, keep in mind that this case style is meant to protect the camera from knocks and dings. Not so much against dust infiltration. By design, it does have some gaps, and dust can get though these. Whenever I put my camera into an unknown pocket (which can accumulate dust, grit, and sand), I also take the added precaution of putting the entire camera, case and all, into one of those drawstring microfiber pouches, the kind designed to hold ski goggles. Otherwise, I have a clean dedicated pocket in my backpack where I keep my camera.

I highly recommend this case if you're looking for retro-style case like this. I haven't tried them all, but this one is functionally as good as any other case of this type I've used, whether genuine vintage or retro-style (I did order another case of this design for around $26 from Amazon, twice what I paid for this one, and this one was better built and fit the camera more snugly). I do wish they offered it in a darker brown color, though. Otherwise, I consider this a really great case and a really great value, to boot. Highly recommended.

This was a real surprise.

I also ordered Sony's own case for the RX100, and while the design itself isn't quite as snug as Sony's own, it's close, and more importantly I was shocked to find this one of superior build quality (the cuts and the stitching). Any quality problems would also show more on this case, and it's much lighter colored, and thus, shows flaws more easily.

Shocking quality difference, considering this costs about a fifth of what the Sony case does. Whatever company made this, really did try harder. This case simply isn't the embarrassment the Sony case is.

Compared to Sony's own case -5 stars.

Compared to Leica, a good 3 or 3.5. The price would probably have to double or triple to get it even closer to Leica quality. (Which, if the manufacturer is reading this, would be OK with me, btw -I'd love a true Leica quality case for the teeny, powerhouse Sony!)

I'll average the two, and leave a 4.

Overall, highly recommended -especially for the insanely low price. If they were to do a redesign, a version 2, may I ask for a version whereby I can more easily keep the top on whilst shooting, and secondly, be able to access the SD card with the bottom still on? That would make a good case great. And, of course, my wet dream would be to have a much more expensive case that has true Leica like fit n' finish. Thanks,

It's well made even though I don't think it's real leather. It feels great, has been holding out well, and just looks super retro and cool.

Not great, not horrible. It looks nice, and the material and stitching are fine, but it doesn't fit perfectly -as other reviewers have said, the front is about 1/4" too high.

I have a panasonic lumix gx1 and this fits it perfectly with lenses on. its a good cheap alternative for covering the camera, and easy to throw on and remove. I do think you need something made of harder material for protection.

This case also fits the Panasonic Gf1 with the LVF1 viewfinder attached. With the little 20mm f1.7 pancake lens on the camera, there is about 1 3/4 inches of room left in the front of the case. You should be able to persuade a longer lens to fit as long as it's not too bulky. I keep my camera in a padded camera bag, but I still wanted extra protection against scratches and this case seems to be fine for that. I can even safely carry the camera in my purse now. The only negative I found was the overpowering rubber odor from the neoprene when I removed the case from the plastic bag it came in. Once I aired it out for a couple of days, it was fine.

Original Thumb Grip is over $100 some of them with option to use the hot shoe. This product simply dose the job. Fit perfectly and you can still access any part of the Fujifilm X20 Silver 12 Digital Camera with 2.8-Inch LCD (Silver). Black looks very nice on silver body:) It was in some simple small box from lens adapter but it's really not a big deal:) once you take it out of the box and put it on your camera you dont' need the box anymore.

I was excited to order this because it is an order of magnitude cheaper than the Match Technical thumb grips.

It fit perfectly in the hotshoe of my Olympus E-P3 and Yashica GSN. In my Fuji X100S though it is a little loose, I may wrap it in little gaffer tape to tighten it up.

The only downside is that it doesn't touch the body for support at all, you're relying on the structural integrity of the hotshoe alone. It would be nice if the load were more distributed, but if you really want that buy something from Match Technical.

This thumb grip makes the x100s much easier to hold securely. Works on my Hexar AF, too, and even my Leica llf.

Fit is a little loose or tight depending on the cameras I use it on, but the machining is nice, the feel is good, and it's worth the price paid.

Cetainly improved my grip. Would've been better if it was a little more flush where it mounts onto the flash mount (x100s).

Kroo Camera Case for Canon Powershot Camera Digital Camera Reviews

No lanyard. Within a day the zipper broke and the camera fell out making this "cool" case a very expensive piece of junk. It is bigger than I expected--much bigger than the camera--and it is bulky. The green is VERY pale green, too, not the intense green pictured here. I was very disappointed. Avoid!

The description says that the Eva Case comes with a lanyard to wear around your neck or shoulder -but there is no lanyard with the case I received. Did anyone else get a lanyard with it? The case is also bulkier than I expected.

The case is very nice in appearance and functionality, but unfortunately it does not provide a great fit for certain cameras. The case is much larger than I had expected and my Canon SD1000 does not fit snugly in the case as I had hoped. Do not expect to be able to carry this case in your pocket as you would the camera by itself. I must say that I am fairly disappointed by the case's size but at least it provides good protection for the camera.

Honest reviews on Kroo Camera Case for Canon Powershot Camera Digital Camera

Product is great, however I did not receive the cloth or lanyard as described in the item description on this page. No big deal, but someone needs to do a little more QC on the orders shipping out.

The case was too big for my Canon Powershot SD1000 camera. Inside has too much space for the camera. I do not feel safe with the camera having so much space inside for it to move around. Inside does not have much cushioning.

The red color makes it easy to locate in her suitcase of a purse. Keeps the camera (which is pink, which was also easy to spot) safe from scratches, bumps and nicks.

This is a very handy little camera case. It protects the camera and even has an outside zipper for your memory card. Love the fact it zips the camera in as well, no chance of it slipping out.
