Well built, with plenty of extras. Backpack is rather bulky and heavy even when empty. Not recommended for anyone with a weak back. I mainly use it to pack my camera gear on driving trips. I use a smaller backpack when hiking and/or flying. This will NOT fit in an overhead compartment, even in a large plane.

I purchased this bag because i needed to carry all of my gear at once. I'm a sports photographer and i can fit two bodies, 24-70, 70-200, and a 400f/2.8 and still have plenty of room for batt's, flashes, and cards. It can be a little testing on the back though, i'll retire to a roller somewhere down the line.

The bag is heavy, but provides solid protection for my camera. I was worried my JVC HD110 video camera wouldn't fit. It fits, but just barely, I have to remove the AB battery pack. This camera is larger than most prosumer video cameras, the bag would be overkill for those. It works well for walk in access of 15 or 20 minutes, otherwise it would be a heavy solution. I also use it just sitting flat in the back of the car where it protects and organizes my gear and is ready for a quick run into the woods. The sealed zipper is hard to zip and unzip (stiff) so for quick access that's not so great. I'm hoping with some use it will loosen.

I removed the side lens cases and extra pack to streamline the bag.

I purchased the Pro Trekker AW II backpack because the mini Trekker AW was not large as big enough to carry all of my equipment. This is the "Grand-daddy" of all bags! It is large enough to carry most of what you need for any extended photo shoot. I have my Canon 40D has the BG-E2N battery grip and the RRS BGE2-L40 attached, 1.4 & 2.0 extenders, grad filters, circular filters, 28-300mm lens, 100-400mm lens, 180mm micro, 16-35mm wide angle, 28-135mm lens and other items. I use this bag in conjunction with the mini trekker AW pack. Both packs are great durable pack and I use them all the time. I use the Pro Trekker AW II as my main pack and the mini Trekker AW as my satellite backpack, for mini, short shoots. For long, extended shoots, the pro Trekker AW II is a must.

After using this backpack on many shoots, I recently discovered a condensation issue with the inside plastic pouch liner. So please be aware! After a recent early morning sunrise shoot, returning to get some java, I notice that the inside of my pack was wet. Couldn't image where I got water...Exploring the bag, I discovered that the inside plastic pouch had condensation on it. Getting a cloth I quickly wiped up the moister. It continued to condensate for awhile until the temperature rose above the dew point. I was outside below 40 deg. and came inside [room temp]. Still a great bag! I also own the Dry zone 200 as well.
